I must say that Red Lobster has changed quite a bit. I ordered the ultimate feast plus various other items and received nothing but rubber... the shrimp and lobster could bounce like a one of those balls you get out of the machines at the supermarket. I understand the shortage of workers. So today; the restaurant decides to go to take out only after 4pm. On a Sunday or all days. I pull up at 8:30, pass who I believe is the manager smoking outside the front doors. I stand in the waiting area a couple of minutes. The manager comes back in and asks if I'm picking up an order. I said I would like to place one. He looks at his watch and says "We don't accept orders after 30 min to close time". So technically they close at 8:30. Horrible customer service read more

So disappointing. I just had a craving for fried shrimp. Host says 10 minute wait even though they were empty because they didnt have any servers. So ok, 10 minutes, no big deal. After waiting for 25 minutes, we're finally taken to the very back corner of the restaurant to a table in direct sun that wasnt even set up for dining. So I'm supposed to sit in the hot sun after setting up my own chairs? Plenty of other empty tables even with social distancing. Manager was also no help. Said she could find us another table if we wanted to wait. Had the nerve to offer us a biscuit to eat on our way to another restaurant. Really? Neither one expressed any concern. We ordered our dinner on DoorDash at 7:51 pm. There was no notification that the store was closing soon like others who stop taking orders at a certain time to ensure customers receive their food. At 8:44 we got the notification our order was cancelled. We called the store and the manager on duty, Caroline, advised that they were closed as of 8:30 and would not be able to give us our food since their doors were locked. She was extremely nonchalant and didn't even TRY to act like she cared. They were closed and it was no longer her problem. I've worked in the food industry, when you have an upset customer you DO something about it. Regardless we didn't get our food, we weren't even given a chance to get our food, and I am EXTREMELY disappointed in this management and restaurant experience. read more

So disappointed. Overly priced and food just soso. Seems like everything is an upgrade and cost more. I had make your own combo for 18.49. I had fried shrimp and sirloin. The sirloin was 3.49 upcharge. I had to return it because it was over cooked. The second one came and it was raw. Literally cold in the middle. I was afraid to return it so I just brought it home. Grandma had coconut shrimp with asparagus, another upcharge. And everyone loves the cheddar biscuits that were in the oven all night. At least that's what they kept saying. Everything took forever. Dine in last night for three to enjoy the endless shrimp. Waited 30 minutes to be seated (average wait time. We did not mind) Put in our order around 8:05pm. Waited for 20 minutes, was told by our waitress Andrew F., "shouldn't be any much longer." Drinks has been empty, hasn't been refill. 15 minutes later, came back-was told the same thing the second time! Finally refilled our drinks. Asked for extra napkins, had his colleague (flip back black hair) bring back one napkin. That's it! Heard Andrew telling the table behind us "we have new kitchen staffs, that's why it's taking time"-which he did not mention or apology to us at all! 15 minutes later our food finally arrived, since then our drinks had been empty AGAIN until two more rounds of endless shrimp he finally refilled our drinks, which we were already done eating. Second time experiencing bad service. No more Red Lobster, at least not in Hickory. This location needs more training in their employees. read more

Horrible!!! Crab cakes were little tiny piles of soupy crab. Server said they were supposed to come on a bed of rice. No rice was served and my side was wrong. Our server seemed confused to say the least. My son's meal came out wrong as well. When I brought it to her attention she again seemed confused. As a former server I hate complaining to management. We paid our $100 Bill and tipped very well but will NEVER go back. The little tiny, itty, bitty amount of bad food we were served was ridiculous. read more

Wish I could remember our server's name... he was GREAT! Typical Red Lobster, same menu across the nation from what I can tell. Did not keep us waiting long to be seated, service was accurate and efficient. Dining room, bar, and restrooms were clean. Food arrived as ordered and hot. It's been a long time since I've walked out of a restaurant feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. I wish i could give this restaurant negative stars. I ordered the crab alfredo and what I got was a mess of cold pasta topped with greasy salty sauce. I should have sent it back, but I decided to get over with my meal and put Red Lobster in my list of restaurants never to visit again. Also ordered holiday special brownie and they gave us the regular brownie instead. Brownie was cold and ice cream was mediocre. Waitress was nice, but the lousy food was just too much. read more

My brother bought me a 50 dollar Red Lobster gift certificate for my birthday, and sent it to me. I tried having red lobster deliver food to me, and to use the certificate to buy the food, They would not deliver food purchased with a pre-paid gift certificate, not even if I paid for delivery. Our waiter was great! I went with my dad and he had been there earlier this week with my mom and had the same waiter, (Jason) who was so sweet and just overall a good waiter! I ordered a raspberry smoothie and even though it didn't take that long, he said it was on him because of the wait! Also, the food was great! I ordered an appetizer shrimp cocktail and my dad and I shared 12 oysters and a salad. My family and I were celebrating a very important moment that happened to us today and wanted something special. I have been told that Red Lobster is a great place to get high quality sea food and a great place to celebrates special moments. Upon arrival we were told to wait 20 minutes for a table and we said it was okay (you know since Red Lobster is a high end restaurant). We were sat down and expected to be attended fairly quickly, however we were not even LOOKED AT for 15 minutes!! No one even asked us for our drinks!!! All the servers were too focused on cleaning the tables around us and not one came over to see how we were doing!!! My family and I waited 15 minutes and nothing... so we left. We spoke to the manager but she did not seem too enthusiastic to sit us back down. I am disappointed to see such a high end restaurant have low end service! read more

Once we were seated it took about 10-15 minutes before we were ever greeted by a server. Once the server arrived and asked about our drinks, my wife asked about the local beers that they had on tap, which the menu indicated that they had, and she was told "I don't know why it says that, we don't have any local brews", so that was a disappointment. Speaking of the menu, it was falling apart. Once we got the appetizer we had ordered we had to ask for silverware. The waitress didn't seem to be familiar at all with the menu items as she didn't know what came on a couple of the items we asked about. We ordered the lobster spinach & artichoke dip as an appetizer and lobster pizza and shrimp tacos as our meals, all of which were delicious, just overpriced. Overall the service was mediocre and a bit lackluster, the food was delicious but overpriced and the beer menu was disappointing. I was very disappointed in our meal this afternoon. The service was poor. It was our waitress not the kitchen. Other people were brought their drinks, biscuits and salads before we were and they were seated well after we were. My steak was over cooked. My husband was very disappointed with his Maine lobster. Red Lobster is one of my family's favorite restaurants. This restaurant is little on the pricey side, so we usually only frequent them on special occasion. This last visit was for Valentine's Day and my wife and I received great service "even thought they were packed", and as always their food was great. Definitely Recommend this location. read more

Saturday night and not very crowded for dinner. We were seated and waitress was prompt taking our order. We then waited for over an hour to get our food because the kitchen was backed up. Again, the restaurant was not crowded. Our food then came out cold, and I requested additional utensils and an extra plate for our child. It took another 15 minutes to get these as they were out of dishes. We then tried to pay with our gift card and they informed us that their registers were not taking gift cards tonight for some reason. Needless to say I won't be going back. We went there a few weeks ago. It wasn't busyand there were 7 or 8 staff just standing around. We did Get greeted what we didn't know by who because no one lifted their head up and gave us I contact. Probably one of the worst experiences yet. First off, we waited 45 minutes to get a table for 2. We asked the host if the were available seats at the bar. "Uuuuh nope the bar is full too." Okaaay so we politely waited outside along with other waiting patrons. Finally when called we get what I thought would be an awesome seat. A booth at the bar. We can watch the game too. Kool! Soo while we're sipping on our drinks waiting on our entrees I notice that the seats taken at the bar are ALL PEOPLE WITH CHILDREN WAITING TO BE SEATED! None of them have ordered anything. Not even so much as a drink! I got so upset because there are so many people waiting that I KNOW whose gladly taken a seat at the bar over waiting for an hour! I begin to say something to my boyfriend and I make sure I'm loud enough so they all can hear me. Eventually I made them uncomfortable enough that they eventually bought something to drink. I mean the bartender was making NO money!! Not only that but their were CHILDREN under the age of 10 sitting in the bar stools. I thought it was illegal to have minors seated at a bar. I mean c'mon. Serving alcohol around minors!! I had to share this experience and hope the manager sees this so maybe they won't handle their establishment this way. THEY'RE also losing money like this!! read more

I went to red lobster in hickory on 70 yesterday for lunch. The service was decent no problems there but the food was just awful with exception for the tacos, they were great. The soup however is microwaved, disgusting I couldn't even eat it after a couple bites. The seafood is not fresh. It's so obviously frozen unless you buy a lobster straight from the tank. I will never be going back there again. If I could describe the food there in three words they would be disgusting overpriced and frozen. Meaning not fresh. If I could give zero stars I would. Honestly mayflower seafood in Lenoir nc is better than red lobster and that's just sad. read more

I've been in hickory for almost 5yrs I have never been to the Red Lobster in this area so I wanted to enjoy a good dinner and that was not the case they brought my appetizers out in 3 different occasions which took about 30mins then they brought out my salad 45mins later and then I had to wait another 30mins to get my dinner I sat their for a long time as my waiter just went up and down looking at me and not saying nothing I'm not saying it's a racist place but I sure got that vibe off it bcuz even the manager came out and stood their to watch me and my girl which is "American white girl" and did nothing about it I don't think it was the waiters fault bcuz she had a job to do and has to listen to what her boss tells her to do it was a bad experience I'm never going back there again and I did tip our waiter only bcuz she was kinda cute and had a nice phat lil booty on her other wise I wouldn't of given her nothing bcuz they didn't treat me all that good threw it all I was there for 2hrs and was brought my food every 1hr 30mins later sickens me to believe that they don't value me as a customer and still see race come on buddy!!!! read more

So mom got a $25 gift card to Red Lobster, her favorite restaurant, and it was burning a hole in her pocket. So on my weekly dutiful visit, off we went to the ol' Crimson Crustacean in Hickory, NC. We tore through that gift card (and more) like the proverbial fastball ripping through the ragged lacing of a badly worn catchers mitt with you, the backstop ending up with the inevitable shiner. I ordered the shrimp from the lunch menu and mom got the double scampi. The scampi was fine. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the "breaded and fried shrimp". Oy! I did get all twelve shrimp as noted on the menu, but they were really small and the breading was thin and weak giving a pale and worn appearance to the shrimp with a taste to match. Pale and worn! Not a particularly appealing look for breaded and fried shrimp. My French fries were fine. Oh, and a salad came with my meal, which was nice. The server asked "Garden" or "Caesar" and I selected "Garden". It was 90% lettuce and a couple of cherry tomatoes. No carrots, no green peppers, no cucumbers, no croutons, no nothing else.
