After a long day of traveling, we stopped at Red Lobster in Lake City. We were looking for a restaurant that was dog friendly. Freckles had a hard day traveling through rain and thunderstorms and we didn't want to leave her in the RV alone. The outside patio was very clean and adorable, with red benches and white tables. Our server Dara was very sweet and brought us iced teas and took our orders. The shift manager brought Freckles cold water to drink and say hello. Some other staff came by to greet Freckles! David had Shrimp Alfredo and I had a Southwestern Bowl with shrimp, rice Salad and a spicy dressing. Both meals were delicious and freshly made. We won't forget the delicious warm cheese biscuits! I've been going to red lobster for over 30 years. Ever since the evil corporate raiders dismantled red lobster , the company has been trying to come back. Some of the food is the same quality and some not so much. Their signature soup, clam chowder, has been changed for the worse. It tastes just like chowder out of a can. The cook said they don't make it fresh anymore and it goes from the container to the customer.They no longer serve crackers , saltines, with the soup or salad. Unbelievable, they are doing the same thing Cracker Barrel does with their food trying to cut cost. Here's a recommendation, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Don't sacrifice quality to save a few dollars. The server was very good and friendly. The restaurant was starting to get that run down slide look. I see chapter 11 in the near future if they keep the present course. Too bad , I really enjoyed their clam chowder. read more

This is a very good Red Lobster location. Food was well prepared, and the service was great. Our food came out quickly, and the cheddar bay biscuits were great. Good kids menu as well with lots of coloring activities to keep them busy while we waited for our meal. read more

Very disappointing service where things were constantly overseen. The waiter, although clearly experienced, was displaying high signs of frustration with us. I'd never go back to this location. While traveling back to Tampa we needed to stop for food in Lake City. Oddly, as we tried to go to a couple of the other restaurants on the main road we couldn't believe how full they all were so we landed on Red Lobster that had 6 cars in the parking lot. Upon entering, there was another gentlemen waiting at the hostess station that was missing the hostess. He had told us he had been waiting for about 5 minutes already and hadn't seen a soul yet. I walked around to the side, no one in sight. When I got back to the front the gentlemen's girlfriend/wife was back saying she couldn't find anyone. I walked around to the other side to see if they had a bar area like most locations do and I could ask the bartender for assistance. No luck and still no one at the front when I returned. I could hear people back in the kitchen so I decided to go pop open the door and yelled back there "Does ANYONE work here??" As I was turning around I finally saw an employee cleaning off a table near by and could clearly hear me.... do you think she stopped what she was doing to help any of us?? NOPE!! Kept on cleaning the table. REALLY?!? As I got back to the front the lady waiting to be seated smiled and said "you're my hero!!" Finally, someone came out to help in which she seemed like we were all bothering her. I can completely see why all the other restaurants in the area are busy while a Red Lobster is dead. Any of the 3 tables seated in the place could have gotten up and walked out without paying or anyone noticing until long after they left. If it was not for the fact that we were very hungry from traveling AND all the other non fast food locations being packed, we would not have stayed. During our time there, the hostess popped her head out exactly one time for about 2 seconds as we were watching the front out of curiosity. The phone rang nonstop for about 2 minutes straight without being answered and our comment to each other was "you can't get seated around here, ya think they will answer the phone?!" Before getting our check another couple came in and due to the fact there was still no hostess in sight, sat themselves at a table near us. Unreal! If I was the owner of this establishment I would be beyond infuriated (nicest word I can think of without getting this post deleted) that the manager and staff I have left to oversee my business are so irresponsible and lackadaisical. read more

I visited this Red Lobster with my Mom at the end of the first day of a four-day road trip. The biscuits were warm and tasty. Our salads were chilled and crisp. Mom enjoyed her fried flounder. Her only wish is that they offered a smaller portion for her limited appetite in the evening. I enjoyed grilled scallops and shrimp. They were out of asparagus, so I opted for a baked potato. It was cooked perfectly and was nicely hot with steam coming off it. The warm Apple Crostada we shared for dessert was AMAZING. Service was good. Final Assessment: We enjoyed a nice meal here. We'd be happy to return, if we found ourselves in the area again. 4 Stars. read more

Arrived and waited around for a greeter. After about 10 minutes a girl came and seated us. Sat for another 10-15 waiting for a wait person to say hello. We finally waved down the manager Phil who was quite apologetic and took our drink and menu order. We basically had Phil as our server for the evening. Admittedly we did arrive a little late for the night ,but well within their hours of operation. Opted for the endless shrimp and Phil was on top of everything. It was pretty clear they were short staffed, as is everyone it seems these days, but this manager knew how to do his job and jumped right in to help. Kudos to Phil. The review covers two recent visits. On the previous there was no greeter and after searching for staff the takeout order was filled by the manager helping in the kitchen. On this eat-in visit, there was a greeter, Emily. She had the dining areas clearly separated. One side was diverse and the other was not. On the diverse side there was someone clearly sick (sneezing and coughing loudly). I requested to be seated on the opposite side. I suppose we didn't meet her criteria as she stumbled to make excuses not to seat us in the obviously available open booth. There was no excuse. With no additional staff or number of visitors on the side with no diversity she seated a couple that I guess met her criteria. We now have colds from being seated next to the party that was ill. Our colds will get better but I can't say the same for her success. This location is rarely busy in an area with many other dining options. Myself and my friends and family will avoid this location and rest assured, we span BOTH sides of the dining area. The food on this visit was fine except for the coleslaw that had a raw taste as though stored in an open container with seafood product. On the previous visit I did not enjoy the Crabfest roasted garlic option that I tried. The one star is for the amazing server that we had. A pleasant older gentleman and the manager on the previous visit trying to keep it together without good help. Not sure if settling was the proper solution though. read more

Had driven for 9 hrs and was starving. Was early and one of maybe a dozen. Placed an order for happy hour vodka tonic and shrimp cocktail. Shrimp were big and juicy but after 25 minutes still no drink. Finally asked for a water. Drink came and ordered a green salad with lobster and creamy longastino sauce. Lobster came... no sauce... no salad 15 minutes later afterr asking another waiter my salad arrived. No one checked back to see if I would like another drink. Whoever manages this Red Lobster should be ASHAMED! When you have a promotion going on, you cannot run a restaurant with 1 hostess and 3 servers. We visited a few weeks ago during the "Endless Shrimp" promotion. We pulled in and the parking lot was pretty empty. We walked in and there was no hostess in sight and a lobby full of people waiting (so many they were lined out of the door behind us). There was one couple in front of our party of 4 and I could see at least 6 tables open FROM the LOBBY. When the hostess finally shows up, she tells us that it's a 30 minute wait or we could sit outside and be sat immediately. The sun was going down so we decided outside would be fine. I have 2 small children so a 30 minute wait is nearly impossible. So we went to our table 15 minutes later because again, the hostess walked off with the couple in front of us and did not come back. After we were finally sat outside, the server for the tables on the patio came out to the other table who was sat out there, slammed their food down (literally, not being dramatic) looked at us sitting there and turned around and went inside... After sitting there for 18 minutes, I watched the clock on my phone, we got up and left. The girl had never come to take our drink order or anything. This is absolutely unacceptable. If Darden still owned Red Lobster, this would not be acceptable. I wouldn't be surprised if Red Lobster didn't end up exactly like Applebee's. Then they could excavate that whole area and build somewhere worth going to. We will NOT be back. read more

This should be five stars as their food is good. Stopped here on the way south for carry-out dinner. First, no tableware to eat with and they'd been out of stock for several days. Then, out of shrimp/cocktail sauce too. The manager lamely offered us a $10 gift card if we'd drive back up to pick it up from her. Looking for food after coaching a baseball tourney all weekend, suggested to this place to my girlfriend who had never been and we were a little nervous walking in as young underdressed people. Boy were we pleasantly surprised. Figured sun burnt and in swim suits sitting around people who were older and in suit and ties. we would be a little far down on the priority list. Instead, our served Mark treated us like we were the only people in the building. Food was incredible, Mark was the best server experience we've had in years, prices are great. Like I might come back from Jacksonville just to have a date night. Just got a forever fan in my girlfriend as well. Great job Red Lobster. read more

This is my third visit to this location and for some reason I was to hungry to review the other 2 times so my apologize lolol . okay so the appetizer was langostino dip and poke túna with chips. I did not like the poke and I am usually a big fan I have had it several times on our trips to Hawaii but this dish needed to soak in the sauce it was accompanied with because it had no flavor so don't waste your money. Now the langostino dip I have had it before but for some reason this time it wasn't good and it was cold so that was disappointing, and by the time we received our appetizer we also received our main dish so we just had a buffet of food at our table. My main dish was plank bake something lol it was a mix with mussels scallops shrimp pasta and small lobster tails (3) this plate is expensive as ishhh but it's worth it everything was not over cooked it was set to the right temperature so it wasn't chewy it was just right but it could have used some butter. Personally I think they should have added some Alfredo sauce just to give the pasta some flavor then just butter I think it would have been a knockout dish but it did its job it was worth the price. My husband had seafood trio and although I was only allowed to have some of his bake potato he said his meal was ok but they could have done better. I am only giving this visit a 3 stars because it took to long for appetizers to come out (restaurant literally had 2 other couples and that's it so no excuse) and I feel like they didn't do there best with the meals because it wasn't busy. the other 2 times I went it was right before lunch time so that might be a better time to try but at 5pm it wasn't that good. read more

OK...I know this is Red Lobster and at the small city of Lake City, FL. Expectation is fairly low. It's not a knock against Red Lobster or the city itself. 5 stars seafood is not what Red Lobster is known for. I was in town for a few days for work. Drove by this place and decided to order curbside pick up. When pulled into the parking lot, there's no space for To-Go or Curbside. you have to go inside to get your order. None of the staffs were wearing mask except for one server. he had the mask covering the lower part of his month. i know there's are many thoughts about wearing masks and I have mine as well. But if you are not going to have your staff wear masks, then don't put signs up everything telling everyone how careful you are and everyone is wearing masks! I ordered fried shrimps, lobster tail, clam chowder, side of rice & green beans. after taking the food back to hotel, discovered no green beans (not a big deal). the rice was cold and the portion was so small I could count how many grain of rice was in the box. the shrimps were dripping with grease. the ugliest part was the lobster tail. the meat was turning black! it tasted rotten. the only thing that was decent was the clam chowder which tasted out of a can but at least it was safe to eat. overall a terrible experience, even for Red Lobster. Perhaps it's just an off night and hopefully this isn't the norm. read more

Just had an absolutely terrible experience. I came in with a fairly large group of friends around 9:30 on Sunday night (closing time is 10:00). I walked in and told the hostess that we would have 12 adults and 5 kids. She replies "oh my, they're going to love this" and walks to the back to talk to someone. A few minutes later, the manager walks out and says that they are getting the tables ready. I told him that if they could not take a group this size at this time that we could go somewhere else. However, he assured me that it was no problem and said "if you came in 2 minutes before closing that would be perfectly fine as well". After a few minutes, we were seated. The hostess tells us that they are only using a few more tables for the rest of the night, so she had to split up the group. Meanwhile, the staff are all staring at us as we sit down and making us feel very unwelcome. Finally, after sitting down, the hostess comes to our table and says "just to let you know, the rest of your group better be here by 10:00, because we're going to lock the door and they won't be able to get in". Our group was going to be there well before 10:00 (it was about 9:38 by this time), but we decided to leave and go somewhere that wanted our business. As we were getting up to leave, one of the waitresses said "Yes! They're leaving!" within ear shot of us. I have never been treated like this at any type of business...it was absolutely inexcusable! We ended up going to Ruby Tuesday (which closes at the same exact time), and they provided us with phenomenal service! I would have understood a little if we had brought in a group that size 5 minutes before closing, but come on...30 minutes before closing? read more

This Red Lobster seemed dingy inside. Our waiter although seemed nice was slow and took forever to come and check on us. There was a long wait before each of our courses even though the restaurant was not that full. We had to ask several times for a bread refill to eat with our soup by the time we got it our entree arrived and our soup was cold. read more
