    Black Tiger Shrimp Cocktail
    Alex H.

Ok hear me out. Red Lobster is delivering on food quality, friendly service, and amazing value! I took my son after he talked about eating shrimp for two days. We shared a shrimp cocktail, he ordered the grilled shrimp kids meal, and I had the shrimp three ways. The service was incredibly friendly and my son loved looking at the lobsters in the tank (I did not tell him why they were in the tank) I would definitely go back!

It's been awhile. We went here 4/23 the food is not what it used to be. I don't recommend getting the crab. There was barely any meat. It wasn't filling. I only review if food wasn't good. The sever didn't ask how the food was at any time he knew for sure. lol that explains why the restaurant barely had any people. Sorry red lobster...

Dried fettuccine with rubber chicken, burnt brussel sprouts, frozen edamame on top a mixed salad and plastic picnic cups for Mother's Day!

Mother's Day Disappointment! My first time being taken to dinner here with daughter & Son (and my daughter's boyfriend) My daughter made reservations for 6:45 in which we arrive right on time. First issue: W had to wait 28 more minutes for our "reserved table" because they seated others! Why make reservations if you can't hold up to it? 2nd complaint: Everyone had glass cups and we got plastic cups... Yes those clear plastic picnic cups. Are you kidding me that you're ok bringing me a plastic cup on Mother's Day? Here's how the dinner went. We get some salty red lobster famous biscuits but I mean these baby's were salty. We ate them with because we were all hungry. Takes us 10 min to order. The nightmare begins... We get drinks. My daughter's colada drink or whatever was so sweet and nasty it literally tasted like some dollar store coffee flavoring. The waiter refilled our biscuits and the Pepsi for my daughter boyfriend. Next we order our food. I'm noticing that the service is not so great and the ambiance setting for me was slowly fading away. I'm trying not to get upset asvi just got out of the hospital and currently on medication to keep me alive so this dinner was more to me that maybe some. 3 times the waiter came by to tell us once our food was going to take some time, then it should be another 20 min or so. And lastly they are plating up our food. Then some other female waitress finally brings our appetizer which was stuffed mushrooms. Those were really good and probably one of the best parts of the meal that we got. Next the food arrives (the second Pepsi that was brought was watered down because they didn't realize that they gave him a drink that had no carbonation because the tank ran out) I feel like if you're a good waiter than you should have seen that the drink was watery looking. The waiter passed by several times and never refilled that drink. So we finally flagged someone down and got the daughter's boyfriend another Pepsi! So the food... Terrible terrible just terrible!!! (we didn't complain there really because we didn't want to create negative energy. Maybe they're trying to celebrate Mother's Day!) The edamame on My daughter 's. Boyfriend's solid were frozen The brussel sprouts that my son and daughter 's boyfriend got were burnt yuk just yuk The chicken on my daughter and son 's alfredo tasted like a rubber something. It was really weird and chewy and some of their fettuccine noodles were hard.! So gross! Thankfully I was the lucky one and went with the three shrimp trail and everything was perfect with mine. No complaints whatsoever on that one! I guess you can say shrimp ain't that hard to make so that's why my dinner was so much easier and didn't have any issues??? I don't care how busy you are when someone has a reservation there's a reason why. We had other plans after and didn't make it because we didn't get done with dinner until 9pm (remember we got there at 6:45om and had to still wait to be seated!) I gave one extra star just for the fact they were swamped but that's not my problem. A restaurant needs to not have reservations if they can't hold up to it. I can't say if I'll ever go back. I mean I can cook and could actually own a restaurant myself, but it's nice to have special moments where my children want to take me out to dinner. I normally don't because I cook at chef level and like my own food and love to host dinners for my friends and family. I do hold larger restaurants like this to higher standards as well. We all didn't want to tip. Our bill was $134 and we contemplated leaving a decent tip but we left a $25 tip which honestly was not the tip for the service we got. It was more like worth $5 and we tip well and according to the service we receive. It's sad the outcome was what it was but life goes on and I was alive to spend my Mother's Day with my daughter and son (and the daughter's life long penguin!) Do better Red Lobster:(

This was our second visit to this restaurant and we were happy to have been able to treat ourselves here for a great seafood meal. The food was delicious and plentiful and at just the right temperature. Our waiter was pleasant and worked efficiently despite being so busy. My husband was a little bummed that they ran out of the Bairdi crab, however he said the snow crabs were still just as good. We're looking forward to returning in the near future again when we have a seafood craving.

The only other time I tried it was for takeout from a location in California, and honestly it was pretty underwhelming. After moving to Washington, though, I figured I'd give the Olympia location a fair shot and try it as a sit-down breakfast spot, though they do offer breakfast/lunch all day. My husband and I came by for a little breakfast date around 9 a.m. It wasn't busy yet, but the parking lot was starting to fill up and it looked like the morning rush was on its way. One thing I did notice right away is that the parking lot feels a bit compact when it starts getting busy, so it's probably a good idea to be mindful of your surroundings when pulling in or backing out. We were seated right away with no wait, although it did take a couple minutes for someone to bring us the paper menus. I will say the menu design was cute -- it's styled like a newspaper. I also liked the aesthetic of the restaurant itself. There were bear decorations and forest-themed designs throughout the place that gave it a rustic, oaky cabin-type vibe, which fit the theme really well. Once we decided what we wanted, our server (I believe her name was Amy) came over. She was an older lady and seemed nice enough throughout the meal. I ordered what I think was the Big Grizzly breakfast, which was about $20. It came with three eggs (I chose sunny side up), sausage, bacon, one side, sweet cream pancakes, and a country ham steak. Since I'm not a big pancake person, I substituted the pancakes for a Belgian waffle instead. The food itself tasted good, but I'll admit I expected the portions to be bigger for the price since I had heard Black Bear Diner was known for huge breakfasts, but they were more moderate than I anticipated. The country ham steak in particular surprised me because it was just a small square piece rather than a larger cut. Maybe that's how it's normally served and I just didn't notice on the menu, but it was a little disappointing considering the price point. One small mix-up happened when our food arrived -- the server accidentally swapped my plate with my husband's. We didn't say anything about it since she was very friendly and it wasn't a big deal to us; she realized later when she stopped by for refills and apologized. My husband ordered a burger (I can't remember which one), and he said it tasted okay. Nothing amazing, but not bad either. It was decent enough for him to finish his meal. I did like that they offered bottomless soda refills, which was nice since I could steal sips from my husband's Pepsi lol. I also liked that there were options for some pepper sauces and condiments already on the table, which made it easy to customize my food without having to request it from my server. Before we left I stopped by the restroom, which could have used a little more attention. The stall I used didn't have a toilet paper holder at all, so the roll was just sitting on the floor. That felt a little unsanitary, but I made do. When the bill came, we were told that card payments are handled at the table, while cash payments have to be taken up to the front register. I paid with card and Amy came back to run it for us without any issue. Including a 20% tip we chose to add, our bill totaled out to $57.71 for our food and one soda, yikes. By the time we were leaving, several families had gathered at the entrance waiting for tables, so it definitely seems like this place gets busy as the morning goes on, probably closer to the brunch crowd around 10 or 11. Overall, the experience was just okay for me. The food tasted fine and the service was friendly, but the portion sizes didn't quite match the price in my opinion. It's a decent breakfast option in the area, but personally I think I might just stick with IHOP next time when it comes to chain breakfast spots.

I finally got to try Katsu Burger with my son earlier this week (weekday afternoon), and I can…read moreconfidently say it lived up to the hype! When I initially walked in, it wasn't too busy, but it filled up quickly while I was still figuring out how to order. They use a kiosk system where you choose dine-in or takeout, and it's nicr that each menu item had photos and ingredient descriptions so it made it way easier to decide, especially for our first visit. The space itself is small and quaint with a couple tables, but full of lovely art. There's lots of cute anime and Japanese-themed decor, including figurines, plushies, and artwork, giving the place such a cozy, cutesy aesthetic. I also noticed they might be hiring, based on the sign at the entrance. I came here because my cousin-in-law (who lives in upper Washington) mentioned the place, and I needed a redemption meal after being disappointed by another chicken spot recently. Katsu Burger definitely delivered! The burgers here aren't your typical American-style burgers. They don't taste as greasy and sub cabbage instead of lettuce, similar to garnish for a tonkatsu plate. And surprisingly, the photos on the kiosk actually match what you get (no false advertising here!). The employee behind the counter was super kind and helped guide us through the ordering process. I don't think they take cash so maybe that's why orders are placed through the kiosk. For food: My son ordered the Tokyo Tower burger as-is, and I tried the Umami Burger with light cabbage (not a huge fan of crunchy water veggies like lettuce/cabbage/etc.). Both were AMAZING. I have heard of tonkatsu but I had no idea what beef katsu was before this. Thought it was just a regular beef patty, but wow.. it was crispy, flavorful, and just overall delicious. We ordered takeout and didn't even get home for about 30 minutes, but the food was still warm enough to enjoy without reheating. Portion-wise, my burger was perfect: filling but manageable (i think i made the right choice with light cabbage). My son's Tokyo Tower was massive (almost too big for him to handle xD), but we both agreed everything tasted incredible. I was tempted to try a bento box, but I knew I wouldn't finish it if I was already ordering a katsu burger. Next time though! My son already has his eye on the enormous Mt. Fuji burger, so we'll definitely be back. Parking is decent, though it can get busy during the day since it's near a gym and other businesses. Overall, if you're in the Lacey area, you HAVE to try this Katsu Burger at least once. It looks like they have about 8 other locations too in the other towns so if you're not in Lacey, there still might be one nearby you. The burgers are absolutely the star of the show :) I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

We have been loyal customers of The RAM since 2019 and regularly visit the Lake Stevens and Marysville locations. We genuinely enjoy the food, atmosphere, and service, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. Upon arrival, we waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated, exactly as the host advised. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, both of which arrived within a reasonable timeframe. From the time we sat down until we received our drinks and appetizer was roughly 15 minutes. After that, however, the experience quickly deteriorated. It took another 15 minutes or more before our server returned to take our entrée orders. The server apologized for the delay, which we appreciated, but unfortunately the delays only became worse. We then waited approximately 45 additional minutes for our main entrées, nobody checked in on our table. By the time the food arrived, our patience had run out and what should have been a special Father's Day meal had become frustrating and exhausting. I immediately asked for the bill and boxes. To make matters worse, not all of our food was delivered at the same time. We continued waiting for our pizza, and when it finally arrived, the center was soggy, undercooked, and literally falling apart. At that point, we chose not to send it back because we simply wanted to leave and salvage what remained of our family's celebration. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication and leadership throughout the entire experience. When I asked why service had been so slow, our server explained that several employees had called out. While staffing shortages can happen and are understandable, the responsibility for managing those situations falls on leadership, not on the frontline staff. The restaurant did removed our appetizer from the bill and provided two burger vouchers, but that does not address the larger issue. Despite obvious service issues throughout the restaurant, no manager ever came to our table to explain the delays, apologize for the experience, or demonstrate any concern for my family who was being affected. The only acknowledgment we received was from our server even though she didn't check on us or give us updates on our food. The real failure here was not the staffing shortage itself--it was the management response to it. If leadership knew they were significantly understaffed, guests should have been informed before being seated or before placing orders. A simple announcement from the host explaining that food service was running substantially behind would have allowed customers to make an informed decision about whether to stay or dine elsewhere. Instead, my family was left waiting without information, while expectations remained unchanged. What made the situation even more confusing was watching a larger party seated after us receive their food, eat, and leave before our entrées were ever served. That only reinforced the perception that the restaurant was not effectively managing its operations during the shift or worse, our family was less important than other families seated there which would be heartbreaking if it were true. This is directed at the leadership team that failed to properly support an obviously understaffed staff and failed to communicate honestly with its customers. And making my family feel very less important than others. I have always enjoyed The RAM and hope this was an isolated incident. However, on one of the busiest dining days of the year, management's lack of preparation, communication, and customer care turned what should have been a memorable Father's Day celebration into a disappointing experience.
