The service was very attentive, and I loved the ambiance--private, cozy, and honestly a perfect spot for a romantic date night. I started with the Caesar salad, which was perfectly dressed with nice, crunchy croutons. For my main, I had the steak--cooked perfectly, well-seasoned, and very tender, served with veggies and potatoes. To finish, I took home a panna cotta. It wasn't my favorite (mostly due to the texture), but that's more of a personal preference--I'm sure their other desserts would have been a hit. Pros: The service from the moment we walked in to us leaving. Our server was excellent and attentive. The food (crab cakes 3.5 stars; lobster bisque 5 stars; lobster risotto 4.5 stars; crème brûlée 4.5 stars) was delicious. (The ribeye was 4 out of 5 stars btw) Cons: I really have to knit pick and the only thing I can think of was, I kind of wish we sat at a better spot. We love it here! My husband and I have been in 3 times now and every time it has been nothing but wonderful. The staff are so attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. We came in yesterday for our anniversary dinner and ordered "the menu" which was a 5 course meal with the shrimp diablo, the lobster bisque, Caesar salad, a ribeye, and desert. Everything was outstanding! Our waiter was so kind and checked in with us multiple times throughout. We never waited long for the next dish and our drinks / waters were constantly being refilled. I used to LOVE Ricardo's. It was a nice place to celebrate and was upscale... but in the last 2 years I've really struggled with enjoying it as much. The food presentation has gone down hill and sometimes strange. Their interpretation for French onion soup ruined my dinner on my second to last visit. Last night we went to celebrate my son's 16th birthday and his steak was smothered in so much sauce he didn't want to eat it. I think the food is still flavorful, the steaks are delicious, but the presentation and balance has been lost. I remember getting the filet and it used to be a nice design is sauce around the potatoes with the steak laid nicely on top. It didn't completely FILL the plate. When my plate was "plated" this was my vision of how it looked in the back: here's a spoon full of potatoes (splat) here's the steak (smack) here's some Gorgonzola (heavy pour). Like serving in a cafeteria. We've been slowly transitioning to the other steak house in town and unless I notice a quick increase in quality presentation... I can't say I'll keep trying. At this point the last chance will be when we host our Christmas party here (only because the other steak house was already booked) The server was amazing and attentive. Went to Happy Hour and got some pretty good steak tacos and shrimp tacos. Also tried the lava cake which was more uncooked cake rather than a cake with melted ganache in it and they give you the smallest ball of ice cream to go with it. Their outdoor patio is great on a sunny day but the servers were just off. None of them were very friendly and they kinda seemed sad, so I don't want to be too critical since who knows what they were going through. At least the server who brought us our coffee tried hard by frothing whipping cream with milk to make up for their not having half and half, which was nice because it turned out Americanos into lattes. First Steak in a Long Time - and WOW! I'll admit, I was hesitant to try Ricardo's. I hadn't heard the best referral when I asked around, but I had a craving for a good steak, and a few nights ago, I decided tonight was the night. I'm so glad I did. From the start, the experience stood out. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and let me tell you -- they have a fantastic selection of hard-to-find whiskeys. That night's special was "cheap top shelf," and it lived up to the hype. The drink was perfectly balanced, so much so that I had two. When my steak arrived, it was a little more cooked than I ordered (I had asked for medium rare). I ate a couple bites, and without me saying a word, the bartender -- who was also my server -- noticed right away and offered to have another steak made. In no time, he returned with the chef and a new plate. The first steak was good, but the replacement? OMG... one of the best I've ever had. A dry-aged Prime Ribeye, perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. It came with tender asparagus, creamy mashed potatoes, and rich, flavorful mushrooms in a demi-glace. Everything was hot, fresh, and seasoned to perfection. Owner Shane Holland made a point to check in, and his hospitality sealed the deal for me. Amazing. Ordered the Ricardo platter, charcuterie sampler, and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't care for the blue cheese, but I am not a fan of it. Wife had the feet mignon and I had the steak trio platter...the steak trio platter had Japanese wagyu, American wagyu, and I think ribeye...medium rare...all of the steak were excellent. The gargonzola cheese sauce was very good on all of the steaks, smashed potatoes and the broccoli. I did not taste the wife's filet mignon, but she said it was very good. Nice relaxing atmosphere and Tyler was an excellent host. Reasonably priced, although on the spendy side, was well worth it. We did have to get a to go box, the wife; as I could not put my fork down. Even their sides are well prepared. Their burgers are top notch and yes, their steaks are amazing! The atmosphere is different depending on the events happening there; the staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. I know of one chef who is classically trained and you might even see the owner of Ricardo's back behind the grill. The only drawback is I tend to eat too much there and it's a long drive home to Seattle. They sure took advantage of inflation, they now have the most expensive menu I've ever seen. The whole menu didn't use to be overpriced, and the tomahawk used to be the best tasting steak ever, back when it was affordable.
