Alcohol is a high profit item. The menu now is now a drink menu intertwined with food offerings. You have to search among the menu for appetizers, entrees etc. My wife ordered Walt's shrimp supposedly with 12 shrimp. 11 arrived and the waitress had to return to the kitchen to complete the order. I have been to Red Lobster many times and I would say it was mediocre at best. I did live in Charleston SC so I do have a high standard for fresh seafood. My husband and I went on Saturday night - I was expecting a long wait and just ok food. I was SO wrong!! We went at 8:30 and got seated right away - Our waitress was fantastic, attentive and friendly! Our drinks were on the little expensive side but we expected that (everywhere). The food was fabulous! The salad was ok, just a normal salad. The cheddar biscuits were fresh and warm! The steamed muscles were very good and our main dishes tasted amazing! We actually had a perfect dinner date night! Had a great server last night!!! Josh was amazing, we both ordered the Endless Shrimp and we were not disappointed. The food was good and the service was excellent. Josh was very attentive with our refills and just in general. He was always present and anytime he walked by he would always ask if we need anything. I'm sorry, this place has gone downhill BIG in the last few months. Not all of their fault-Red Lobster needs to get rid of the emergency menu and start serving a lunch menu. Watched Tyler K. use my glass as it's own ice scoop, which I hate because it's dangerous. Lunch came quick which was nice, but shrimp linguini was tasteless. Doesn't come with salad anymore. We went to red lobster for date night. We ordered a Dr.Pepper and a mega sunset passion alcoholic drink. We got the lobster artichoke dip for an appetizer. For dinner we ordered the wood grilled sirloin, shrimp scampi, coconut shrimp, side salad and for the other meal we ordered the salmon and the coconut shrimp with broccoli and brussels sprouts. Our waiters name was Tyler K. The lobster artichoke dip was okay, I wouldn't order it again. The mega sunset passion was supposed to taste like piña colada it did not taste like piña colada at all and I did not taste a drop of alcohol in it. The glass was giant and I didn't even feel a buzz so I am 95% sure there was no alcohol in there. That is the most disappointing thing I ordered tonight and I really wanted to enjoy that so that's why it's getting less stars. The sirloin was cooked to perfection it tasted like it was from a steakhouse, it was delicious!! We thought the shrimp scampi was with noodles it was just shrimp but that was just a misunderstanding. The coconut shrimp is my absolute favorite thing here and I always get it. Still tasted amazing! However, I did NOT like the salmon. I have never tried the salmon here before and I won't get it again. It was unbelievably dry, NO FLAVOR at all! There was only a few pieces of broccoli and the brussels sprouts had a sweet sort of glaze which I didn't really care for but they were okay. We also got a dessert, a brownie dessert it was very chocolatey and I'm not a big fan of chocolate so it wasn't the best dessert for me. Tyler was very attentive to our table. We had 2 other guests with us who ordered other things. They had some issues with their food and he took care of it and brought out new food. He was also friendly! He did his job well and refilled the drinks. I'd say the restaurant was a little busy and the food came out quickly. This was an awful experience. My sister paid 11 dollars for a piece of white bread with 3 pieces of shrimp on it. My father ordered a salad that did not even cover the plate underneath it. Neither of them thought the food was tasty enough to make up for small portions. My mother got the lobster bisque, which did not taste like lobster and had almost no salt either. My bar harbor bake was expensive and, like the other meals, was not filling. No salt on anything. Tiny shrimps and lobster tail. We are all walking out after paying 79 (no tip) and are still hungry!!! On top of this, the waitress clearly didn't care about our table. There were maybe 2 other parties in the restaurant but she didn't refill drinks and we had to flag her down for more biscuits (another party walked out saying "never again Red Lobster"). My husband and I went to this restaurant for a late lunch on a Saturday. It was very crowded but we were seated without a wait. We hadn't been at a Red Lobster for about a year. We immediately noticed some big changes in the menu. There weren't vey many options. Certainly not like they had in the past. Also, most of the menu items were around $30. My husband got a small piece of fish with a lobster sauce, mashed potatoes and a green salad. $30. I wasn't that hungry and thought the prices were too high. I thought I'd just get a bowl of soup. That was $9 and only two choices. I thought instead I would get a burger. $16. I ended up with an appetizer of melted cheese with maybe lobster bits plus a ton of corn chips $15. It was okay. My husband said his was also fine but nothing special. The restaurant was very clean and the lighting was shaded. Our waiter was very nice and knew the menu. He refilled our drinks as needed and was friendly. I'm not sure we will ever go back. The prices were really too high for what was served. Had I eaten a regular entree, like my husband, our lunch bill would have been around $75. We can afford it but it wasn't worth it. The Red Lobster nearer to our house closed. I can understand why. Expensive Alcohol, Appetizers aren't that great at all. I ordered fried calamari, expected something much better than what we got. The calamari tasted as if they were soaked in oil. Plus they were very small, compared to other restaurants which I will mention below. The food is expensive and the portions aren't that big as well. We went after a movie around 9:30 pm... their yelp says they close at 11 , so I thought it was fine to still go in. We walked in, waited to be greeted and neither of the two girls at the front seemed interested. Then a manager walks up and they talk. I finally asked if they were actually open till 11. and if it was okay for us to be there. They decide to seat us finally. Our server was great, food was fine. I came with friends, to help celebrate, and decided to order the snow crab dinner although I had reservations about it, being a crab fan I have never liked snow crab because of the tiny size of the claws and the work involved getting to it. I was proven wrong with this batch! My mom is very picky but believes Red Lobster to be a really prime place to eat... We had lunch here recently. Since it was 11 am, service was attentive. We both ordered the Endless Shrimp option (pick two!) with the shrimp linguine. I also got the parmesan shrimp scampi while she got the fried shrimp. Our sides were baked potatoes. We both had Caesar salads. A basket of four hot biscuits was delivered quickly, before the salads arrived. They were likely the most flavorful thing of the meal! The salad was okay, a little over-dressed, but not bad. My entree arrived with broccoli instead of the potato, but when I brought it up to our server, she checked her order pad, then quickly brought out a potato. My mom complained that there was too much food... The linguine had teeny shrimp atop a pile of linguine alfredo. I ate the linguine, but skipped most of the shrimp. The shells were like rubber and the meat was hard to get out that it just shredded. The Bar Harbor was the same, watery, no taste. The service: not good. She brought our salads a minute before the appetizer. Then when she brought our main course, she didn't clear the dishes. We had two salad plates, two appetizer plates, the appetizer itself, a plate of bread and a basket of cheddar biscuits so it was crowded. When she set the main courses down they had to go at the edge of the table. We asked her to take the other players, which she did but only took the salad plates. My wife and I haven't been to Red Lobster in a while but what a disappointment! Ordered the snow crab with Dungeness crab. They were out of Dungeness crab and offered to substitute king crab. The meal came with what I would describe as 3 mini king crab legs, not even full legs. The claws were removed. The waitress was horrible and unfriendly and disappeared for long periods of time. When we received the bill a $5 up charge was added for the king crab substitution. Had to find a manager to have it removed. Here's a pic of the "king" crab legs...Oh, and I understand how food gets splattered on the walls of a seafood restaurant but DAMN, how about wiping the walls down Red Lobster! read more

I love Red Lobster. I haven't been able to come to eat here very much because of my kids but today we came for lunch and I was so very upset. I got a lunch special it had 4 fried shrimp 4 shrimp scampi and some very spicy flounder. The lunch salad had like 4 pieces of lettuce. My son ordered clams and they were horrible. My daughter got fried fish kids meal and there was more breading than fish. My wife thought her meal was ok but could have been better. I was very disappointed in the quality of food and the lackadaisical attitude of the staff. My 3 year old girl got Mac and cheese and while I think she got the best lunch even it was weak. So I normally dont write a ton of reviews on "chain" restaurants unless I've had above par, or subpar experiences--- Well... darling honey and I had decided (actually I decided) to eat at Red Lobster after spending gobs of dough next door at Slyman Bros (review later to come)-- I started off by ordering the Lobsterita--- SO YUMMY!! (but i think they could've added more liquor) I really didnt taste any....none actually. No big deal, I was only drinking one any way--- and the consitency made up for the lack of tequila... For an appetizer I ordered my all time fav of Red Lobster and that was the calimari--- Honestly, I dont know if I've ever had calimari that good anywhere else-- and it comes with fried red peppers and broccoli-- it was light, not chewy, and it didnt come with the other little parts that look like mini octopi-- ya dig? After the biscuits, my caesar salad, and the calamari-- i was STUFFED..to the max... I ordered the coconut shrimp (the pina colada sauce served with those shrimp is the BOMB!) and i was so full, i could only eat 2!!! :( sad face i know.. I did take the rest home, and warm them in the oven a couple days later and they were jussttttt fine... It had been over 4 years since I had been to RL- and I dont think it'll be that long again-- I mean, it wont be tomorrow that I'll be returning- but it wont be 4+ years either.. The last time I was at this Red Lobsters, the year was 1982 and I am 8 years old. The 8 year old me loves this place. There's fishing nets with fake fish caught in them and all sorts of boat paraphernalia/décor. I would order a shrimp cocktail and 7up and cherry soda with an umbrella and cherry in it and feel all glamorous. Fast forward thirty two years to December 2013. I don't know, the place now seems kind of overpriced and boring. I slide into the bar while waiting for my table and order a riesling. It takes forever to get a table. We ate here this past Saturday, as it was close to where we'd been doing some shopping. As far as chains go, I really enjoy Red Lobster. If you're going to come here, you'd better get here before 5. We came before 4:30 and there was still a 5-10 minute wait. This place is always packed! The cheddar bay biscuits were dynamite as always. I ordered the 4 course meal for $15.99. It really is quite a deal for everything you get. Soup, Salad, Entree, and Dessert. I can rarely finish all of this. It's probably a good idea to order this and split it with someone. My wife got the fried coconut shrimp which she really enjoyed. Overall, yes it's a chain, but the food is good and relatively inexpensive. The only real negative to our experience was our server giving us our check before she ever brought out my dessert. It wasn't a huge deal, just a little backwards. read more
