Peacemaker Lobster and Crab was absolutely amazing. We ordered a ridiculous amount of food because there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try, and somehow, nearly everything we ordered was a hit. We started with Stella on tap, which just felt appropriate while visiting St. Louis, especially after touring the nearby Anheuser-Busch brewery. It was easily one of the freshest Stellas we've ever had. For food, we tried the lobster mac and cheese, lobster bisque with pieces of lobster, a pound of steamed crab legs, fried green tomatoes, and the warm lobster roll. The lobster roll was phenomenal. We shared it, but I honestly could have eaten the entire sandwich myself. The real standout, though, was just how perfectly the seafood was cooked. Both the lobster and crab were juicy, sweet, and tender with just the right amount of chew. Nothing was rubbery or overcooked, but it wasn't soft or mushy either. I genuinely don't think they could have cooked the seafood any better. The fried green tomatoes were also cooked perfectly and something I was excited to try since you don't see them on every menu. Unfortunately, they were a little too spicy for my personal taste, so we didn't finish them, but that's definitely more about my spice tolerance than the quality of the dish. The atmosphere was another plus. It's a really cute setup with great ambiance, and our server was wonderful. We also walked right in without a reservation and had no wait at all, which has honestly been one of our favorite things about eating our way through St. Louis. Coming from California, we're used to having to plan ahead for popular restaurants, sometimes weeks in advance. Here, we've been able to discover some fantastic places without having to plan our entire trip around restaurant reservations. I will say, this was probably the most expensive meal of our trip. The one pound of steamed crab legs was $65 market price, and the lobster roll was $37 market price, so Peacemaker definitely isn't the cheapest place we've eaten. That said, considering the quality of the seafood and how much we enjoyed everything, it was absolutely worth the splurge. From the crab legs to the lobster roll to the bisque and mac and cheese, everything we tried was delicious. Combine that with the atmosphere, great service, and being able to walk right in, and this was easily one of our favorite meals in St. Louis. I'm actually hoping I can convince some of my coworkers from my training class to go back with me before I leave Missouri. I think that probably says everything you need to know about how much I enjoyed it. read more

Peacemaker has been on my to-try list for YEARS, and we finally got around to trying it out on Friday night (funnily enough, right after visiting the aquarium)! The outside is very unassuming, as are most restaurants along Sidney St. in my opinion, but upon walking to the table for our reservation the first thing that caught my eye was the wooden plank ceiling which really fit the expected vibe of a seafood restaurant with more of an upscale feel. After being seated, our server brought us some water in these cool colored mason jars which added to the character of the entire restaurant. Our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed as she checked in quite a few times throughout our dining experience and answered our questions in full. We started off with some cocktails: the Port Royal as well as the seasonal slushie, the Yodermelon. Both of them were quite delicious, with the Yodermelon tasting exactly like a refreshing watermelon slushie; you could barely tell there was any alcohol in it! The Port Royal was very good as well and fit the seaside vibe with the rum & pineapple mixture. For the food, we got the seasonal salad which was a Tomato Salad with tomatoes (obviously) beneath a bed of arugula, peaches, pickled red onion, feta, croutons, dill, & a pistachio pesto. Although I really enjoyed all of the different flavors, I do wish the salad was mixed a little bit more as most of the pesto dressing was at the bottom which made it difficult to coat the rest of the salad as we ate. I ordered the Snow Crab Legs as my entree which came complete with a bucket & bib. The clarified butter & roasted lemon to drizzle really complimented the crab. There's something really satisfying about having to work for your food after you're already paying for it since, at the end of it all, you feel accomplished! Despite my love of crab legs, I can't help but feel like I should've ordered something else, though. They were delicious of course, but a side wasn't included despite the somewhat steep market price which meant I was left with a pile of crab legs and nothing else to snack on (besides my girlfriend's lobster roll & chips, thankfully). I was still left feeling hungry after making my way through the crab, so even a recommendation of ordering a side may have swayed me into having a more satiating meal. In short, it felt like I ordered one of the things on the menu that didn't have much character at a restaurant filled to the brim with it. I guess I was just hoping for a differentiator in the preparation or presentation that made this meal feel more unique, which I didn't really get. In summation, I was very pleased with Peacemaker Lobster & Crab and will definitely be finding my way back in the future, likely for a coveted Lobster Roll, but I will be passing on the crab legs next time. read more

My partner and I saw the Mardi Gras themed pop up menu and knew we had to stop in! The interior is decorated throughout with cute Mardi Gras decor that really sets the vibe. The staff were very friendly for our first time. Our server dropped off waters for us right away. It was a seat yourself concept where you order via the QR code, which made ordering easily. We started with caviar deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes, both of which we devoured. The green tomatoes are thicker and had a good bite to them! The gator po'boy was good, though on the dryer side. I would have loved more of the sauce on mine. The chips were perfectly crispy crunchy! Always delish! I finally gave in and got the best lobster roll in St. Louis. It was really good, but I just feel like lobster is overrated. What really made the sandwich was their golden, buttery toast. I also just don't think a lobster roll is ever something I'll crave or really, really, really want. The summer salad got better as we ate it, and the peach on it was slightly underripe so I was slightly disappointed about that. The Yodermelon drink was PHENOMENAL. The oysters were extremely salty (this may be out of their control, but adding a note in the description would be helpful so customers know what to expect.) We went here for dinner and the food was good. We liked the shrimps boil entree and the fried green tomatoes. We ordered the lobster bisque with lobster meat but there was no lobster meat when it came. The gumbo soup was good. The lobster roll was okay, it is a dollar more than the shrimp boil and you do not get that much at all versus we got a good amount of food with the shrimp boil. I would skip it next time. I have to start by saying I am not a huge fan of seafood. We came here for a family dinner. We had reservations but had a huge unexpected delay and they were very gracious and accommodating! The menu is of course mainly Seafood but diverse enough that if you didn't want you could still dine with a well thought entree. We started with Crawfish BAO/steamed Buns and Deviled eggs with Caviar. Both were top tier and I would advise to go ahead and double your order on the eggs! They were top tier. Next the Lobster Bisque was rich and creamy although we added the extra $15 crab option but it only came with 2 very small pieces of crab in the Bisque...awww so disappointing. It bordered on the sad side the Bisque by itself is $7 but the cup of Bisque with Lobster @ $15 and only 2 lil pieces of crab was sad! We also ordered the Fried green tomatoes and our waiter gave us a heads up on their differences from the traditional dish...Goodness this version is definitely an aquired taste, I'm sorry but I would not try this again. It's pickled tomatoes that are fried. I was thinking it would have been close to a mash up of Fried green tomatoes and Fried pickles...it is not. I go to a place like this and I guess I just don't like seafood. We started with oysters, I'd actually never had them raw before. I did like this orange/reddish sauce that came with ours it had a great flavor, but if you have to cover a food in sauce, you don't like the food. The lobster bisque was very good, very buttery with added lobster chunks. I could see myself coming back for this when it's colder outside. My partner got the gumbo, a ton of flavor, but I liked the lobster bisque best. He also got the buffalo crawfish roll with chips, I stole a bite, strong buffalo flavor, but through the fry batter, I did really taste the meat. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese, it is a side, but as my meal. Since I was also getting soup, the portion was fine. The flavor, very cheesy. I'm not sure why they don't have this as an entree, it's probably because the huge chunks of lobster that were in it would make it super expensive. Some of the lobster bites were bigger than the pasta noodle. I do try to stay away from pastas in general, but this seemed like the least fried item on the menu. This is our third or fourth time at Peacemaker, and it's always something I look forward to. I don't get to St Louis very often, but, when I do, I try to have at least one meal at Peacemaker. I especially look forward to their selection of East Coast oysters. They are prepared fresh when you order them, so you might have to wait a minute. They usually have several varieties of oysters from the East Coast, and tonight, they had three. I can't recall the individual names of each variety, but each one was briny and sweet of varying levels but all delicious. They are served with two sauces and horse radish, but they are not needed in my book. Just experience the oysters with no embellishments. They also have a good selection of po'boys, rolls, and buns sandwiches with a variety of seafood and other meat selections. They also have other seafood options, such as crab legs. I had the Peacemaker Po'boy, which is fried oysters with lettuce and tomatoes and a remoulade sauce on a toasted po'boy roll. It's served with house made potato chips with a Cajun seasoning. Very tasty! They also have a good selection of beer on draft and bottled selections. The restaurant itself is decorated nicely with a rustic, modern seafood vibe. Usually the only place you can get a decent rendition of a lobster roll is by a shore, nice to have an option in the middle of the country! Had great service enjoyed the ambiance. What a joke. We grabbed takeout tonight from this place. I've never left a review like this, but I have nothing positive to say about this place. There were five of us and it cost $175. Do you notice how there's no prices on their website... kind of weird. I'm pretty sure they overcharged us, but my son paid the bill so I didn't have a chance to look. I had their brisket and it was very small. The fried pickles were not very good. The only thing that was tasty out of our entire order was the bread on the crab roll. I was very much looking forward to going here after finding it one night when I could t sleep and begging my daughter to go get me a lobster roll (I was refused lol) we made plans to have a family dinner here. It is right down off the hill near blues City Deli. While there is a small lot, there is also plenty of street parking. Let me start with service. We were seated by a very friendly hostess and host who prepared a table for a large party. I had a reservation but being an early Sunday dinner we would have had no issues regardless. Our waitress took our drink order and went over specials for the night and answered a few questions we had. When she brought drinks she also took our appetizer order, peel and eat shrimp which were big shrimp, ice cold with a cocktail sauce. The cocktail sauce had more lemon than heat but it was not bad by any means. We also ordered fried green tomato's which no one much liked. I am not a remoulade person but the one with these was so delicious. The tomato's were nicely breaded but they were pickled tomatoes and they had an intense pickles flavor which no one much cares for. This is when I drank the most of my lemonade lol I am picky about lemonade and can't drink fountain lemonade but am happy with most fresh made lemonades. This one was delicious! Three of us got the Connecticut style lobster roll and it was delicious. It looks small and perhaps for the premium price it should be bigger but it is a deeply sliced toasted bun( more like buttered toast shaped like a bun) and it was chock full of lobster It was so nice and buttery, but not so buttery that it was not enjoyable. Probably the best lobster roll I've had and I have lived in New England and got married in Maine and visited many times because my husbands family were Maine Lobsterman. Honestly nothing compares to lobster right out of the sea, but for a landlocked state this is very close. I did not like the chips that came with the sandwich but had gotten hush puppies and they were delicious so my chips went home with my daughter who loved them. The two children at the table got their own orders of peel and eat shrimp and they really enjoyed them. There were two others in our party one got their own ordered the beef sandwich and a salad which he said was extremely tasty. The other got the house made sausage which she said was very spicy but had good flavor. Lastly my daughter got their S'mores cheesecake which she said was extremely rich but good. She gave the other half to my niece and nephew because she couldn't eat it all. I am a sucker for root beer floats and this one was good, pricey but good. Overall we were satisfied and left saying we would come back for a lobster roll but likely take it to go because it is not an inexpensive place... much has to do with location because in Maine you go to a lobster shack and there are lots of picnic benches or you can take it to the beach... again a landlocked state does not have those options but this restaurant brought back my memories of the shore and fresh seafood. Lobster roll had some meat I guess but the rest was like a sample at a grocery store. Couple oysters tasted funky I've ate thousands in my life in sketchy markets in Mexico to French oysters at the markets in Europe this was legit the first time I thought I was going to get sick.. thanks god I didn't. This seafood doesn't even get close to the hot bar at Whole Foods which is like cafeteria food. This is my 3rd time here and I have struck out 3 times here always felt like I didn't get anything for what I paid. Peacemaker on Sidney is one of our go-to places for special evenings and this time we were celebrating a birthday and going to see Nate Bargatze at Enterprise Center. When we arrived for our 5:30 reservation we noticed the restaurant was not full yet. However, there didn't seem to be many servers available. We then noticed the bartender was our server and, while tables started to fill, was also bussing tables as well as serving and tending bar. This proved problematic when we were ready to order. We got our order in but it took an inordinate time to get served. In fact it took almost an HOUR to get our entrees! The food was great, delicious and perfectly cooked, but we were sitting around for a long stretch while others were seated and served before our food came. And unfortunately for us it made us late for the concert! The bartender admitted they were short staffed Thursday, so it makes sense, but the food was worth the hassle. read more
