Took my husband for his birthday Lunch here today. He had a 40$ Lobster dish which was excellent. I ordered a crispy red snapper sandwich with extra pickle. It came with fries and coleslaw. I said I didn't care for the coleslaw. The waiter asked if I'd like something else. I chose broccoli. Our food came, he sat mine down and said, "Sorry, we are out of pickles so I put extra tarter on. It had so much tarter on it that the fish was no longer crispy. It was mushy. Had no fries and 2 hush puppies on the plate. I ate the broccoli and pushed it aside. By the time the waiter came back my husband was about finished. I explained to the waiter that tarter was not my favorite and there was way too much. That if I had known they were out of pickles I never would have ordered it. He said he'd have to ask his manager what to do. Another lady came over and asked what was wrong. I was thinking she was the manager. She was not. A 3rd lady came over. Go through the whole thing again. She actually has to go get the waiter to see if our stories match. What!! It was our first time dining at Red Lobster in Yakima ...(Hubby's B'day dinner out) quite possibly our last visit there .... My husband ordered the Surf & Turf .. what a disappointment.. the closest we can figure is that it was 1) frozen 2) microwaved .. just terrible... the color & texture ... YUK ... the center looked raw but there wasn't a drop of blood/ juice ... he enjoyed the baked potato but didn't eat the rest of the ( our dogs enjoyed it) I ordered the Dragon Shrimp... not too bad actually ... a few of the shrimp were seriously under cooked so I took them home and finished cooking them ... along with leftover rice it was an ok leftover meal ... overall ... a very pricy doggie bag ( $67+) ... iced tea and coke ... we ordered no "drinks" Follow up ... considered trying again but can't bring myself to spend any more hard earned money in hopes of getting something palatable ... read more

Red lobster is one of those restaurants that was consistently an upper echelon spot growing up that, since growing up, has become an every so often spot that's usually better than I expect. We go here about once every three years and each time the cheddar bay biscuits are better than I remember! As I think about it, this spot is in a tough position being On the West Coast, but not actually on the coast. In addition, our lobster out this direction is about the only thing that is not as good as on the East Coast. That said, the stuff they have here tends to be very adequate. They did a surprisingly good job of making a rare plus steak that went with a lobster tail. It's a totally pretentious way to order,But it's definitely the best way to have anything cooked. Just passed rare and just starting to warm in the middle - so good! Again, with a cheddar bay biscuit, it's hard to beat. They also get extra points for singing happy birthday to my grandmother who wanted to go here for her birthday! We arrived at 10:30 pm placing a to go order after watching basketball at the sundome all day. We ordered fish and chips, crab legs, calamari, pasta and some side dishes. Along with that, they told us that our 3 entrees came with drinks... However, when they gave us our food, they had charged us for each drink that they said came with our meals, and we NEVER even got our drinks because they said they had already dumped their teas out. Therefore, we paid for drinks that were supposed to come with our order and still got charged for it!! When we got back to our hotel, we were very disappointed with our food. First, the food was honestly not that good, the only plus was the crab being good. Second, the portions were extremely small. For example, my fish and chips were pretty ridiculous, as it came with only ONE piece of fish and only a small portion of fries. Along with that, they did not provide us with any ketchup, tartar sauce, or utensils for our crab. My dad wanted to come here for Father's Day, so I brought him dispite the bad reviews. I wish I had tried to convince him to go elsewhere. The wait staff was very nice and they did their best to assist all customers on this very busy early evening. They are the reason that I'm giving more than one star. My dad ordered the rock lobster and filet mignon (cooked medium), with asparagus as his side dish. What he got was wood-grilled shrimp and Sirloin (cooked medium rare). It took us quite a while to flag down a server so they could bring him the lobster tail he ordered, but they did correct that mistake eventually. Meanwhile, my dad was hungry so he ate some of the asparagus, mashed potatoes, and steak. Every single item on his plate was incredibly salty and he couldn't stomach the taste of any of it. The restaraunt ended up comping his meal, but my dad left with only being able to eat the lobster tail, which came after I had already finished my own meal (maple glazed chicken and fries, which was mediocre but fine), so he left still hungry and with the taste of salt in his mouth. Again, the service was fine considering how busy they were, but the food was completely disappointing...and good food is the reason for going out to eat, isn't it? My sangria had a rotten strawberry on the rim, I needed new silverware as the ones rolled all pretty in the napkin was dirty. The Maple Glazed BBQ Chicken was good. We also had the Cajun Shrimp Linguini (they use salad shrimps) was bland, tiny shrimp and really not worth the upgrade. Overall one of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had. We got seated quickly but 3 waitresses passed our table without acknowledging us. Then a waitress who wasn't ours helped us when we asked. She took our drink order and we took the opportunity to order at the same time. First off there are no drink prices on the menu so she had go check. Then we said we wanted the special 4 course meal and she took our order. Later to find out that wasn't on special due to the time. Would've been nice to know. Soup came out and was the highlight of the meal. Next came our entree..they forgot our salads. My steak was supposed to be medium and was very done and very bland. My potatoes were barely warm. They brought the salads halfway through the entree. We finished the meal and waited 20+ minutes for the dessert. This is the first Red Lobster I've ever eaten in since I've heard nothing but bad reviews about the chain's food. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality. We had the lobster pizza appetizer which was very tasty, and the cheddar bay biscuits, which were both fluffy and flavorful. Since I've only had fresh lobster once in my life, I went for the live Maine lobster roasted and stuffed with seafood. The stuffing was OK but I loved the lobster. The meat had that sweet flavor you can't get from frozen lobster tails you buy in the supermarket. I had steamed broccoli spears on the side which were nicely cooked. I had first ordered mashed potatoes as my second side, changed my mind to baked potato, but the server missed it and I received the mashed, which were OK. My wife had the Wood-Grilled Southwest Chicken Sandwich which she said she would have liked better if there hadn't been a spicy hot component to the BBQ sauce. She's not a big fan of spicy hot. My daughter had the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo which she liked very much. Our server was very sweet but a little too chatty and a little to aggressive on checking how we were doing but then there weren't many diners in the restaurant at the time. We will probably go back there for other menu items but not sure when since all there is for the wife (who doesn't like seafood) to eat is that chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger. First off not very busy. Super slow service. Not sure if it's the kitchen or the waitress or both. We ordered 1 order of fish and chips, 2 all you can eat chowder and salad. Took probably 25 minutes to get our first biscuits and our salad, then another 15 minutes or more for the fish to come out. Then our bowls of chowder that was barely luke warm. Asked for more biscuits and then 5 minutes later for more chowder and it comes in a cup the next time. Took nearly 15 minutes to get that. Never offered to refill our water. Only checked back one time, but was quick to bring the check. Will probably never eat at the Yakima Red Lobster again. Used to be a great place to eat. read more

My family and I stopped for lunch on way back over the MT. and must say this chain didn't disappoint. Our server was great, we always order the Rock lobster tail yummy! The place wasn't very busy when we stopped, actually might have been a late lunch, however the large party next to us was leaving and it seemed to take quite a long time for the table to get cleaned. We, my husband and I went to the Yakima, WA Red Lobster yesterday to celebrate Valentine's Day a day early, and to use a gift card that we had received for Christmas. I realize that people are short of staff, but a person should not go to celebrate a special occasion, or just to enjoy a nice meal, and end up leaving the restaurant upset. We arrived at the Yakima Red Lobster at about 1:30 in the afternoon, there were very few people in the restaurant. We purposely went on February 13th because it was Super Bowl Sunday and we were hoping to enjoy an early Valentine's meal without there being a crowded restaurant. We live 45 minutes away from Yakima and seafood is our favorite meal out, so going there is always a special occasion for us. I ordered the sirloin and baked potato and the addition of a lobster tail. Everything was going well until we received our meal. Our server, I believe her name was Susie, put our food down and asked if I needed any steak sauce and I said I would like some A1. She came back and set the A1 on the table and hurried away, we never saw her again. I mean never saw her again. My steak was so overcooked that I could barely cut it with my steak knife and my potato was overcooked and dry, I really can't believe that any chef would serve the food it looked so unappealing. I flagged down a bus boy to take my steak back because I was not able to eat it. A gentleman arrived shortly thereafter and offered to either replace the steak or to comp the meal, he agreed that my steak was nowhere near being medium rare. My husband ordered the Asian salmon and quinoa dish and it was very nice. Because I received a salad and cheesy bread and my husband shared his meal with me I was able to get enough food to eat. I chose to comp the meal because I had already eaten enough bread, salad and my husband's salmon. The meal could have been salvaged had our server been attentive, but we never saw her again. The fact that my meal was bad was not really enough to ruin the experience for us, but the fact that our server never returned to refill our drinks, never returned to offer us dessert, never returned to check on us was adding insult to injury. So much for a special meal out for our Valentine's celebration. By the way, I tried to leave this comment on Red Lobster's page that they send you to to allow you to contact them, but every time I tried to send it it said there was an error. We had eaten here a couple years ago and were NOT impressed. My parents were in town and wanted to go, but I was still hesitant since it had been so bad the last time, so bad. We had a party of 7, they were understaffed and so we had to wait 30 minutes, but it was No big deal to wait. We had our own section in the back and I thought we would probably have less service. I was TOTALLY wrong. Our waitress, Lily, was awesome. Her smile, her people manners, her service, and all she did totally redeemed us coming back. Our drinks were always full, biscuits were always hot and she kept them coming. She was so friendly and truly the best she waitress I've ever had. All the of the other staff who were there also helped when a huge party came in and she was in both places. Our food was also hot and delicious. Everything was spot on and done perfectly. One of the best meals I've also ever had at any Red Lobster. Even though they are short staffed, we were so well taken care of. We will definitely be back. Thank you Lily, and the rest. Disappointed. This restaurant wouldn't do as well if it wasn't for the fact the Seafood options in Yakima are limited. Tonight was terrible and wont be going back. The service was awful...well I should specify...our waitress was awful. I saw another server who was very charming, attentive and did a nice job of checking in on his tables that were seated next to and around us (refills, small talk, answering menu questions etc)... We however had a different server who was not friendly... couldn't muster a smile...and we even thanked her several times being polite after her taking our orders or bringing salads. she never reciprocated even the most basic manners. She dissapeared thruout our dinner, but before our dinner arrived our drink glasses were empty. Thought for sure she would refill them when she brought dinner but that didnt happen. I made a point to leave my glass towards the end of the table she would see IF she ever came back by. She finally did...but walked right past it and us. Never got refills. The food wasn't good either. My salmon was cold in the center...really cold and the rice pilaf was actually undercooked and crunchy. Broccoli may as well been raw. Didnt even get the common "how is everything tasting" question. I could look past the food being off its game tonight if at least service was pleasant. But to have poor attitude, eye rolls, rude manorisoms and then just no service sure ruins ones dinner date. We always leave a tip always at least 15% even when service is not that great or maybe slow. But this time I didnt...I couldn't justify paying someone with the lack of manners she had...and honestly did such a bad job. Not everyone eats dinner early but when you do want something it feels their are hidden disclaimers. Wont be back here again. Cheddar biscuits are about the only thing decent here. Ordered chicken breast and rice, which was decent. However, it came with two sides. I ordered corn and a side salad. The salad was bagged disgusting taste and there were brown lettuce mixed in with it. Didn't eat it. And not to mention, the entree came before the salad. Who does that? My mom ordered seafood sampler, which included stuffed mushrooms and prawns. Prawns didn't look right, maybe frozen, but she didn't eat those. Stuffed mushrooms were way over cooked. This restaurant has only three stars for a reason. While it's franchise creates a reasonably priced, well serviced place, the staff often lets us down. Don't think we'll be back after our anniversary dinner last night. Our waitress was great, but the cooks mis-prepared my two crabcakes dinner. I received one thin crabcake split in half. The manager supplied me with another, but it was served the same. She stated each crabcake is to be 2 oz and she would check on the preparation. Well, I took my second one home and found it was a 2-oz piece. My problem is that they are serving it with one crabcake and not two, as described on the menu and pictured in advertizing. Once in a while I succumb to the ads for this place. I haven't been anything but satisfied the last couple of years until this afternoon. I have to say they didn't even come close to meeting their usual bar for food quality. The service was normal and I ordered the Captains Plate for lunch of fried and sautéed shrimp (they were smaller than I remembered) their oncfamous garlic mashed potatoes would not be known for anything but flavorless stiff blob of white paste and the fried sole that was also flavorless. Even their tartar sauce was hohum. The small Cesar salad was really good. The legendary cheese biscuits however were not fluffy and tasted flat and kind of doughy. Don't know what happened but I probably won't go back. It used to be very good but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone now. I did go back for crab fest. The good was better but I couldn't crack the crab because the implements we too large for even the king crab which was very small. And in doll case the chills were so soft all it would do is bend and fold. I was going to send it back because there was no way to eat it but finally the waitress came and cracked it for me. My favorite place to eat in town. Every time I come here I know it's going to be delicious. They even have happy hour M-F and offer my favorite appetizer on it- the lobster pizza. Plus on Monday they offer All You Can Eat Shrimp. I try to get in there on Monday's to get my shrimp fix. I have never been to Red Lobster so many times before I went to Yakima! Given that it is one of the few non-shady restaurants, I spent a lot of time here. The entrees are pricey, but if you get the endless soup and salad you can escape for a reasonable price. Endless cheddar bay biscuits... delicious, but at what caloric cost? Heidi provides the best and fastest service. A great place for a quick lunch, as long as you're prepared to take a little control of your experience ("Can I please have my check immediately? I'm on lunch break."). If you don't verbally request expedited service, you'll never make it (and I only worked 2 miles away). read more
