Went too this business with one of my children to have my first tattoo! Having had total anxiety about being from a different time of acceptance this was a great experience! The location is right off major roads, the building is large, parking is ample and it's in a safe environment. They take walk ins on Saturday which work's excellent for 9-5 folks. Tattoos here are amazing (amazing artwork and attention to detail) but my most recent experience with this great establishment was getting my daith pierced by Ruthie! She is AMAZE-BALLZZZZ! I was a bit nervous as this is pretty thick cartilage but she assured me she'd be gentle and quick! Kudos to them for how professional they are. They both make you feel comfortable and allow you to take a break if you are feeling tired. I recently got my thigh done and I specifically came in for Johnny but he wasn't In so they gave me Bryce instead. I was hesitant at first because I didn't recognize him but he was great !! I love, love, love Red Octopus. I have been coming to this location and to the location in Landover Hills for several years now. I have gotten the majority of my tattoos (I believe that's 6 tattoos) from these 2 locations from different artists and I have been completely satisfied every time. One day hanging out with my girlfriend, I decided that I wanted to get my tragus pierced. I have always thought it was such a cute area to have pierced, but I have always been afraid of the pain level for having that area pierced. So what did I do, searched the internet on pain levels for all the different areas that you can have pierced, and the tragus was surprisingly not at the top of the list. Once I get in the chair I had the pleasure of Jax piercing me. Before she began she explained the whole process and assured me that it was not going to hurt at all. And within seconds it was all over, no pain but a little pressure and that was it. Jax did a great job and made me feel very comfortable. And it has healed with no issues. Now about a couple weeks later, while having lunch and swirls with my girls over at Lauriol Plaza I decided that I wanted my nose pierced. So back to Red Octopus it was. But this time Jax was not available, which made me a bit nervous, but instead I met Ruthie and she too explained the process. She asked me which nostril I wanted to have pierced and once she put the cork in my nose, all I felt was a quick pinch and, there you have it my left nostril was pierced and shining bright like a diamond....LOL!!! Currently working on my next set of tattoos that I want to have done and then back to Red Octopus I shall go!!!!! read more

This is the first and only tattoo parlor that I've used so I don't have much to compare it with. But, between myself and a my friends have had nothing but good experiences. Over the last 6 years I've gotten 5 piercings and 2 tattoos (It takes me longer to decide on a tattoo, as it should be in my opinion. But I take too long.) Two of my friends are completely covered with tattoos; so much that I can't even count them anymore. And my other friend got about 2 piercings done there. The artists that stands out in my memory are the two Pauls. One is the owner and they other does the artwork, if I can remember right. Bring in a picture and Paul will work his magic. Pick something off the board, if you want. But, if you want something personal, bring in some samples and tell him what you want. There is a female piercer, who's name escapes me, but she is very gentle and sweet. She did my labret. The other Paul did a few of my others and he is just as good. This place is very clean, too. All of the tools are fresh, meaning that they are taken out of their sterile containers when the procedure is being done and thrown away right after wards.
