Mushroom burger

We came in for an early dinner over Labor Day weekend to beat the crowds of people in Heber. We were sat right away on a Friday night at 4 pm. Our server was nice, but not really talkative. We got potato skins to share they were decent. My daughter got a kid's corndog and I got a regular burger and fries. I don't have any complaints. Is it the best burger I've had? No, but it was good and nice to try something new. I did like all the condiments that came in the bucket so you didn't have to ask for sauces. I do think the fries were under-seasoned. I would come back and try another appetizer and burger!

Was on a trip for work in snowflake AZ and on the way back my group decided to stop here for lunch the Irishman was an amazing sandwich. The wait staff was very helpful and polite, the decor was very rustic and the food was delicious. I will certainly be returning here on my next trip when I can try out the locations at the bar

Great local spot. Seat yourself casual. Bar on one side and casual dining on the other. Staff was so friendly! Food was filling. Can't wait to try the fried cheesecake next time!

We have been here one other time before. Everytime we come up here camping, we come by here for lunch and a drink. Such an awesome place. The food is great. This time we shared the potato skins and a cowboy burger. The staff here is so friendly and welcoming. The overall feel of the bar/restaurant is very relaxing and a cool place to come and hang out.

Last night we ordered two of the bbq burgers from the menu to go. I've had some seriously amazing burgers in my life and this one was alright in a pinch. I wouldn't say this was the best burger but maybe it was the best burger in Heber. The French fries were sad... limp and lacked structure to them. It would have been really nice if they were crispy! Maybe it was a fluke and we should have tried some other options. Not going to rule out Red Onion altogether but probably would try something else next time!

Great weekend of fishing! I've passed by this place sooo many times....gonna knock it off my list!

I go fishing up in the White Mountains a bunch and I've passed by The Red Onion each time thinking I'll hit it one of these days.....that day finally came to fruition. It was a Sunday and they weren't very busy, so we walked in and seated ourselves. There were lots of table tops and regular tables throughout with a number of TV's to catch any game you may be interested in watching. We were greeted quickly and the Hatch Green Chile Burger caught my eye. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare and had plenty of hatch green chiles with pepper jack cheese. It was super tasty! I used their homemade ranch dressing to dip my fries in. That ranch though....uuugh...I'd buy it in a back alley way from the dealer, it was soooo good! On a scale of 1 - 10, I should have stopped here years ago! I'll be hitting this place up on my fishing expeditions more often!

Driving on the 260 between Phoenix and Pinetop- we had lunch here! As much as we wanted to love it, it really wasn't great. More ambiance is needed in the dining room. The bar area looks to be a more fun area to sit. The southwestern burger was really good. I'd go back for that! Huge green chili on top! The hazy IPA on tap was tasty. Church Music. The fries were terrible. We asked our amazing waitress (Tanya/Tonia?) if they were supposed to be so empty/hollow in the middle and she said no and very kindly brought us a basket free to try again. They were just as bad. They claim they are homemade but they sure felt frozen. The ladies bathroom is very tight unless you use the handicap restroom. Fix the fries and the dining room and you'll have us back as customers! Kudos to Tonia/Tanya! She was lovely!

Absolutely blown away by our experience at Aliberto's!…read more We happened to stop in when they were slammed--I'm talking packed and clearly super busy--but Bri still found the time to make our experience nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with the kind of warm welcome that instantly makes you feel like family. What really impressed us was that, despite the rush, she took the time to give specifics about every question we had on the menu. She even offered helpful suggestions (which ended up being spot-on, by the way). I had accidentally ordered a canned soda, but when I told her we preferred a fountain drink instead, she didn't hesitate for a second. No attitude, no making me feel bad--just pure, genuine service. She literally ran to grab us a cup, and later I found out that the fountain drink actually cost more. But she just smiled and said it was no big deal. That kind of above-and-beyond service is rare these days, and it left a lasting impression. I've driven past Aliberto's at least a hundred times and never stopped. But believe me when I say, that has changed forever. I will make it a mission to stop here every single time I pass through--even if it's just for their horchata, which is a solid 10/10. And let's talk about the food--SO GOOD. Their tacos? Massive and packed with flavor. Everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and satisfying. Even though poor Bri was clearly being pulled in every direction and running around because they were so busy she still managed to keep a positive attitude and give everyone around her that same warm, welcoming energy. She is the heart and soul of this place, and honestly, she alone gives Aliberto's a reputation worth bragging about. Do yourself a favor--don't just drive by. Stop in, grab some tacos and horchata, and if you're lucky enough to be helped by Bri, you're in for something special.

Hello! If you are looking for the perfect breakfast place in Heber/Overgaard, Wood Shed Cafe is my…read moretop recommendation. There's never been a place closer to home. Second-to-none meals, speedy service and a great selection for a sit-down restaurant. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, made with a plain bagel, scrambled eggs, sausage, and some extra jalapeños. Everything was homemade, and nothing was like a Cisco brand at all. The bagel was fluffy, the eggs were scrambled to perfection, the sausage was juicy and the jalapeños were a nice add-on. I hope to try the waffles or the breakfast burrito next time. When I came in, the waitress had me at a table in no time, ready to ask my drink and, only about 10 minutes later, my order. The staff provided me with the WiFi password (which I believe to be "Chritina1911", not Christina, or something of that) and were very kind and helpful. Inside was jam-packed of cowboy pictures, taxidermies, funny signs, booths, tables, American flags of different nature (Army, Navy, Navy Seabees), and a bunch of happy people! It was very American, which I love. The restaurant was clean, the booths had felt of some sort and overall a very comforting experience. What I realize, and what you should too, is that it's not everyday a cafe like this is here in your area. I recommend this to all breakfast lovers, this was truly a fantastic place. So take a trip down to Wood Shed Cafe for amazing food, spectacular service and a cozy American dining feel! Thank you!

Perfect day for a motorcycle ride temperatures were between 63 and 91 the mid 60s to low 80s was all the way up and then the 75 to 91 was the right home Ken and I had chicken fried steak eggs and taters. He had French toast and I had toast his wife. Melanie got the skillet with a chocolate chip pancake what a delicious meal and the place is the coolest it's got so much old school stuff in the in the restaurant most of it you see it you have experienced it or had it in your mom and dad's house at one point in time or your grandpa's house service was awesome They suggested us a few different meals. They said everything gravy was the best way to go so chicken fries steak it was with their gravy which was delicious chicken fried steak was delicious. It was an awesome day. so it's 268 miles round-trip what a perfect way to spend a Saturday check it out you'll love it. We will definitely go back.
