Bok choy dumplings were delicious, however, the Hong Kong style noodles with pork had basically no flavor at all, except for the pork. Also, the Dan noodles sauce was way too thick and overpowering. Paul and I returned to Red Pine for the second time just as a couple this time. The venue is located inconspicuously in a commercial building with no real signage. However, once you find it and dine here, you will put it on the map for future visits. The venue has the WOW factor. The decor is very special from every angle. This time we sat in a booth not far from the bar. Tyler was our waiter who was very knowledgeable and sweet as he made sure we were happy throughout his service. We ordered drinks - Paul had his usual Old Fashioned- surprisingly they did not have One of the ingredients that he likes to add to the mix - the Contro ingredient. We had the double garlic eggplant as an appetizer. It was hot and delicious. Then we ordered the angry fried rice and Duck two ways - pancakes and lettuce wraps which we build. Went to Red Pine restaurant last and was disappointed. The manager was walking around and never once came over to my table to ask how is everything! Then I received the check only to find out that the Martini I had ordered was " $25.00" that is totally insane. They came it's " 3 Oz's " I certainly couldn't tell ?! There's NEVER been a restaurant that serves $ 25.00 Martinis! Then the kicker ! A ser- charge for using my CC ! Dec 2025 * Family We have been to the restaurant a number of times and have always been impressed. Tonight we brought some family members who had never been there before. As we entered I notified the hostess that one of the family members was celebrating her birthday today. I was assured it would be taken care of. In this restaurant the proper way to order is to order a number of dishes and have them served separately. Previously, as we finished one dish, another was shortly brought to the table. I don't know if this waiter was new but when we finished one dish we sat for at least 15 minutes waiting for the next one. Instead of putting in the the next dish to be cooked it seems he waited until we were completely done before the next dish was to start to cook, thus the delay. During this period no dirty dishes were removed from the table. After 2 hours we gave up with the fish which we had ordered and I called the manager. She cancelled the fish and did not even offer a dessert or something on the house. To finalize this evening the waiter came to the talble and asked if we wanted dessert? (What happened to the special birthday celebration I had mentioned when we entered?) I spoke again to the manager again and she could only say she would adjust the bill but I don't know how she could do that since we had charged out the bill already. Today, I walked 20 miles.....from Delray to the Boca Raton Town Center and back with the intent to have a meal around 330pm at Red Pine. Note: I walk about 10-12 miles per day. This was my first time at Red Pine. A friend of mine recommended Red Pine, and despite the fact that the prices were more than double what most Chinese food restaurants would charge, I decided to take my family for a meal with me. The service was great. The tattooed gentleman at the bar was great and very attentive. In fact all of the workers in the bar area were awesome - including the young lady from Minneapolis. Note-we had to sit at the bar to eat because it was happy hour and general seating does not start until 4pm. We sat at the bar and ate items from the happy hour menu. Another note, the food is the same for the main menu and the happy hour - just arranged differently and more expensive after happy hour. But that's not my point. We spent $150 on the happy hour food items (no drinks) and on a couple main menu items. The ambiance was fine - like a Chinese restaurant in a Shanghai hotel (e.g., Ritz Carlton, Shanghai). The food was terrible, and I know that now as my stomach and that of my wife l/kids are bubbling. It's going to be a tough night. The food was similar to cheap Chinese food at your neighborhood Chinese food place that's part of a gas station, but worse. The egg rolls were wrapped in thick egg noodle dough with little vegetables inside. The General Tso Chicken was tough and the vegetables that came with the dish were wilted. Note: sauce doesn't make bad chicken taste good. The edamame was wilted and not crisp. Ugh. The chicken Bao Buns were tasteless - especially when you mix a soft bun with hard (not crispy) chicken. Note: that's not Coke or Pepsi on tap (a cola) and Sprite is white soda - they were both flat. The Black Bean Pepper beef was so salty that I couldn't take more than one bite (scarfed it down) because the salt was so strong that it caused the skin inside my mouth to peal. I can't believe this place exists and passes for good food. The place looks nice and is in a good location for Boca - but I can't believe a place that should have discerning tastes given the wealth in the area would allow this food to pass for good Chinese. I should have known when I saw General Tso on the menu - there was no such dish in China, even though Tso was a well known military leader. I had great expectations, but I was let down. I should have done take out at our standard Chinese food restaurant in Boca near Glades and Lyons - nothing fancy, but I can watch them cook our food fresh and the vegetables are never wilted in sauce - and the food is great at 1/3rd the cost of Red Pine. The food has my family not well tonight-I had to pick up Alka Seltzer Gold and 7-up (real white soda) to help us through the evening. I was honestly disappointed in this spot. I had really high hopes upon walking in and seeing how gorgeous the decor and ambiance were. Our server was extremely nice and tentative but the food was mediocre and lackluster. The sticky spare ribs were the only good dish we ate. The soup dumplings were way too thick and starchy compared to a traditional xiao long bao. Lo mein lacked flavor and that wok charred taste. It was as if the noodles were simply boiled and then tossed in a sauce. The cashew chicken was also pretty bland tasting. What bothered me the most is the fact that the manager just stood there by the bar on his cell phone and did not even care to check in on the guests dining in his restaurant. This is a fascinating twist to your typical Chinese spareribs. You take the usual Chinese spare ribs and raise them a couple of notches, and you have the ribs made from this place. I found the ribs outstanding. They also serve a poo, poo platter that consists of the wok, fried soybeans, homemade egg rolls, chili, cucumber/ weeping tiger salad, and chilled sesame noodles. Ana is the general manager, and she worked the floor along with the establishment's owner. I noticed that everybody smiling at my server did an excellent job, and it was a pleasure walking into an establishment where everybody was happy. This is an upscale Chinese restaurant/bar, and you can expect to spend about $100 per couple, not including drinks, unless you want to share. This was an interesting experience.... The restaurant is beautiful and the bar is very cool. It's in an office building which is a kinda weird location. Hard to find but worth it once you do. We ordered soup, appetizer and entrees. I have to say all the food was really delicious but green beans came out 1st and the rest was quick except the shrimp dish never appeared. The owner/manager got a little confused that we no longer wanted it but we actually did so they brought it to go. We opened it and it was soooo good but my friend will enjoy the rest tomorrow. Shrimp Bao Buns went 1/2 eaten- too much hoison sauce, not a tasty slaw on it and the shrimp was battered and fried. The bronzino was good but comes in a lot of soy sauce and no sides but my husband said it was good.. We shared my rice so that was good. I ordered duck scallion pancake that is a duck pizza with red peppers and scallions. Somehow I thought a duck scallion pancake was a rolled up pancake the way it comes with Peking duck. Didn't eat that dish except the duck on it went on my rice. Sorry I did not take photos but if you go ask the waitress or waiter to explain what you are ordering. read more

First off, the food is subtle, everything is really fresh and beautifully prepared. Tyler our waiter was a pro, very friendly but not intrusive. The decor is really nice as well. We arrived for the Sunday happy hour, and everything was great until we were seated at the bar after waiting for half an hour. This review is based on my experience. My in laws made 530pm reservations for Saturday 1/20. My wife and I were gluten-free & called 4 days ahead to ensure if thete would be options. The person ok the phone was lovely and explained they can basically make anything we want gluten-free and will cater to our diet. None of that was true. Somehow EVERY meet was already marinated in soy sauce?? Not a single piece of steak chicken that was un marinated? Ooooh ok what are my options? STEAMED FISH!! I asked if it could be flash fried in the wok, sure thing. Except the chef put sauce on it so while everyone at the table ate we had to wait for it to be re-prepared. Then when it came it was STEAMED. Oh wow ok let me just roll with it - tasted it, ridiculously fishy taste, inedible and sent it back and NOT to be remade. I ate a giant plate of gluten-free shrimp fried rice, that was fine but in no way what I wanted at all. The server was fine no issues with the service BUT.... when we got there it was literally 95% empty and they sat us on the patio (61 degrees,although covered patio w a heater we asked 3x to be inside only to be told no) when we were ordering I made it clear how unhappy I was about that and that there was no way in hell this place was going to fill the 25 + open tables in the hour it would take to eat. They did move us inside AND there were many many open tables by the time we were done. So I was honey d*cked showing up for food they promised they could make, offered STEAMED fish instead of something delicious like Kung pow chicken, and had to work too hard to be seated inside when the place was empty. Everyone who wasn't gluten-free had delicious food. But for me? I will not be returning. BTW so many Chinese restaurants are able to do gluten-free omg even joke pf Chang has a deep GF menu. I had heard that Red Pine was good and had wanted to try it. We went tonight and it was fantastic. The portions are large enough to share and everything was delicious. We started with either egg rolls (2 for $16) which was definitely pricey, but we shared and they were delicious. Their duck sauce was also delicious. We also had the spare ribs which were probably the best Chinese ribs I have ever had. Then we shared fried rice that came in a large cast iron pot, the walnut shrimp and the cashew chicken. Everything was terrific. We even had some left over after sharing with 4 people. They apparently have a great happy hour 3-6 during the week and all day on Sunday. I will definitely return. Nestled away in an office tower near Boca Center lies Red Pine. What a gem of a Chinese restaurant! Trendy and welcoming - starting with the friendly and appreciative front desk staff. Started with a bourbon cocktail - monkey plays with fire -- smoky and nice flavor over a big rock. Complementary noodles are always appreciated - nice touch. General Tso's chicken was very flavorful. Had the brownie dessert which had nice texture and delicious chocolate goodness. Service was attentive and the manager asked twice how our experience was. Finally got a chance to come here and as perhaps others have stated in South Florida it's a little unusual to walk through an office building to gain access to a restaurant but nothing further than that. You enter the restaurant and it's very impressive looking with the bar being one of the first features. The dining room is beautifully done as well. So we get to our table and Gregory S (our server comes over). This was one of the two times we would see him for the rest of the evening. Took our limited drink order and left and came back a little while later to take our food order. As we were giving him our choices he used a server line that doesn't sit well with me "EVERYONE LOVES THIS DISH". Thanks Greg don't need "EVERYONE'S ADVICE". In any event we started off with a very bland, boring egg drop soup for $9.00. When we received our soup I was excited because it was laced with bok choy but here they slice it in thin slivers. I get it egg drop soup is not one of the most exciting soups but the bok choy in soup is much better at places like Thai Spice - this version was like sipping water. So a 1.5 out of 5 stars for this. When we received our soup my wife took the sesame oil and in taking it a large strand of hair within the oil came as a bonus. My wife asked one worker to replace it but he was too busy so asked that we hold on and he'll come back (he did not). Five minutes later another bus person comes by. My wife calls them over and they take it and don't bring anything back! Meantime the wine I ordered came and it had an overpowering taste of soap which killed the $30 glass of wine that I ordered. I pushed it aside and did not drink it any further. We followed up with one of the more perfect looking vegetable eggrolls that I have seen. Excitedly I added hot Chinese mustard and duck (or plum) sauce. I take back the word "hot" in Chinese mustard. As if the kitchen had a concern of anyone burning their throat/nostrils and mouth, they diluted this to a dull flavored kind. The egg rolls too had minimal flavor. 1.5.5. We also had their bok choy dumplings. The thick dumpling was how should I say it? Too thick. The bok choy stuffed inside was ok. 2/5. Now the main courses. We ordered kung pao chicken spicy, pepper steak and fried rice. The kung pao chicken had heat! Kudos to the kitchen. But aside of heat was a flavorless dish with a few humungous clumps of chicken that needed a knife to cut. But lo! where was Gregory who ditched us after taking our order and never asked if the food was too our liking? I'll tell you nowhere to be found as we grappled with trying to find another staff member to provide us a knife. The pepper steak was cubes of high quality beef (filet mignon type) that had an unusual spice (not too my liking) included. Did not have a pepper steak flavor at all. So back to the wine. About 20 minutes into our meal the general manager comes over and asks if everything ok. Understanding the wine situation which I thought was the wine (not the soap) she graciously takes it back and brings back another wine which of course had the same overpowering soap flavor. But that being said she was great and continuously working the room to the point that I said that If I need to poach somebody for my imaginary restaurant - she would be the one I would want - she truly cares. We also had their fried rice which again did nothing for the meal or the night. Overall 1/5 or 2/5 for the food. 0/5 for the service and a big shoutout to Gregory! And if you require Boca Raton water - your limited to one and no refills. This is not an Uncle Tai's nowhere close. I'd call it an American version of Chinese food but with even less flavor than what you'd expect. However the dining room is really nice and the quality of food is very high. Took my husband here for date night. Although it was difficult to find, it was WELL WORTH IT! From the moment we walked in we were immediately impressed by the beauty of the restaurant and the lovely young ladies at the host stand. Our table was waiting for us as soon as we arrived! We were extremely impressed with the delicious Chinese food which was impossible to find prior to Red Pine as well as the service and management. Our server, Traceyann was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely attentive. Ana, the GM, was present throughout the evening checking on tables to make sure that everything was perfect. The manager, Charlie, was friendly and readily available to provide anything needed. The food was exceptional from beginning to end.
