We stopped here for breakfast after a few-mile walk and catching the sunrise in Deerfield. We originally sat outside, but it quickly got too hot. Luckily, we moved inside just before a sudden downpour started a few minutes later. I ordered the oatmeal with everything on the side, and it was delicious. Others in our group had French toast, omelets, and a yogurt bowl with berries. One friend also got coffee and said it was very good. Everyone was happy with their choices. The restaurant is located in the Wyndham, which used to be the old Howard Johnson's. The ocean view is absolutely beautiful and really adds to the experience. One thing to note: if you need to use the restroom, you walk through the restaurant and into the hotel hallway area, which is clearly part of the hotel itself. Overall, a very enjoyable breakfast spot with great views. Give them a whirl! read more

There are places you go for the food... and there are places you go for the view. Patio Bar & Grill has made a very clear decision about which lane it's in. We came here with friends and I'll give credit where it's due. The beach view is spectacular. The kind of view that makes you forget your phone exists for a minute. Ocean, breeze, the whole postcard situation. Absolutely nails it. And then the food shows up... and things take a turn. I went with the blackened fish sandwich. Cooked properly, no complaints there. But flavor? It felt like it forgot to show up for work. Just kind of... there. Unfortunately, that wasn't even the low point. My wife went with the fish tacos and called them straight up terrible. Not "meh." Not "could be better." Terrible. And that pretty much set the tone for the table. So now we're not talking mid anymore. We're talking mid-to-poor across the board when it comes to food. This is still a great spot to sit, relax, and enjoy a drink while staring at the ocean and pretending you didn't come here hungry. If you're coming for the food, just know you're here for the view that happens to serve meals, not the other way around. Pro tip: only do the outdoor seating. The view is the whole reason you came here. Inside, you're just eating disappointing food without the ocean doing heavy lifting. Two stars. This is a beautiful oceanfront restaurant in Deerfield Beach. We got a table outside with great views of the beach and the ocean. The servers were not very prompt (actually they were kind of slow) but we eventually got to place our order of fish and chips as well as chicken wings. I went tonight with my family, I was starving before we even got there. I tried my wife's Mahi sandwich, my mom's Cobb salad, Dad's Poke bowl, and I had Fish and Chips. Everything was really good and the portions were great. Each dish was roughly $20. The staff was very nice and helpful, really enjoyed it. Amazing views of the beach and ocean! Outdoor seating, a full bar, and inside seating. Comfortable inside with warm colors. Bathrooms are the bathrooms of the hotel lobby. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We only came for breakfast. Breakfast menu has a lot of standard menu items. Prices aren't terrible but they are high, good bang for your buck. My dad and I went with oatmeal and you can add a side of fruit for a price. My husband got an omelette. Good portion size and oatmeal was hot and creamy. Also went with a side of bacon and was impressed with the amount of bacon it came with. Bacon was crispy and delicious. My husband enjoyed his omelette along with the potatoes and toast on the side. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Kept up on topping off our coffees. But she accidentally entered four oatmeal's for our bill and we only had two. Staff were turning over from breakfast to lunch so getting her attention to fix the bill took a while. Not a bad spot for breakfast. Didn't know they had breakfast this good! Came on a whim on a beautiful Sunday morning and got lucky with a table for 4. I started with the Bloody Mary that came with shrimp! It was so good. Then I got the huevos rancheros with scrambled eggs and it was phenomenal. Nice big portion! The crunchy tortilla and chorizo were my favorite part. The whole dish was such a great combo of flavor. And crispy breakfast potatoes on the side! I was so impressed I had no idea the breakfast was going to be this delicious. We also had great service! I don't remember her name but she was a nice young lady and took very good care of us. And the view once again you can't beat it! Can't wait to bring my other friends here for breakfast :) read more

Like many other restaurants in south Florida that cater mostly to tourists...the Patio Bar and Grill is one of those places that is always "hit or miss". We live nearby and have resident beach parking, so it's easy for us to just walk over for lunch. The food really is decent. Their chowders are tasty and very filling. They have some decent appetizers and even their salads are huge and fresh. The problem is the service. Some days it seems like the wait staff and the kitchen just cannot get on the same page. Part of the problem may be that a lot of the servers some days appear to have come out of retirement and (while they are very sweet people) they just cannot keep up with the pace. Other days there's a younger group on staff and everything goes perfectly. The view is great. The food is good. It's just some days the service will leave you feeling like you made a mistake coming here. Figure two people will spend a minimum of $50 for lunch. read more

I was hanging out at the beach and wanted to grab a quick snack, so I stopped by to place a to-go order. To go orders can only be placed at the bar. Service was fast and I was not required to put my cover up on, which was nice. The calamari was very crispy and only had flavor because of the sauces served on the side. Overall, it impressed but $16.95 for claim is a fair price, just wish there was a larger portion and that it tasted better. Nice beach views, though! read more

The food is fine. Ocean view is nice. I have been there a few times including Christmas. I went there this AM - and made a mistake; I thought a check had cleared. It didn't. I have a local address on my drivers license and local ph number. Obviously, I'm local. The bill was $25.00. I had to go home to get cash. I apologized and was willing to leave something for collateral- if need be. I wasn't willing to leave an expensive iPhone for many reasons including the fact that I am chronically sick; legally disabled. I am single and don't drive without my phone and only drive locally. I went home and paid them ; and topped the waiter. I left a silk pashmina that's worth a few hundred dollars - over a $25.00 bill (and I had been there before). I made a mistake. That wasn't the issue. The issue was that they just didn't say ok over the silk pashmina being left - they wanted an expensive iPhone that I needed. I paid them in full. I won't go back. read more

We planned a brunch to meet up with our friend visiting from afar. I got there in good time but it was very hard to find any parking for the place and I researched in advance to see what parking was available for this restaurant. I had read it had valet parking but I could not find or see any option for this when I arrived. I finally found a parking lot near that required you to pay. Brought the ticket and they give you a sticker for a discount at the hostess desk. The waitress was too impatient when it was clear we were a group of friends catching up. Some of us arrived at stagnant times and needed some time to review the menu. The space and view on the patio to eat was so nice and the weather was really beautiful. I got the virgin strawberry daiquiri which was good. We needed to ensure our table only had non-alcoholic drinks due to our friend's religion. I decided on the shrimp and grits which was a wonderful twist with the seasoning and the egg. It came with a poached egg and I was glad to have the option to make it a fried egg. What a disappointment :( patio used to be the spot just a few years ago. Now it's just a hotel restaurant with really terrible service or lack of there of. We wanted to grab something to eat after walking a few miles on the beach. To be honest I was really skeptical with eating here, but I said it's Monday the weather is perfect, the ocean looks amazing what can go wrong, right? Mannn I was wrong. The waitress and hostess acted like we were disturbing their scrolling time; both sat at a table on their phones prior to seating us. When we got seated I decided to keep it safe and order something simple, I really wished I kept walking and ate at some place where the employees cared. I ordered a burger and fries, burger Patty was one third of the bread size, on top of it, it was super chewy so after a few bites I gave up and left it, I asked for a side of honey mustard -she brought yellow mustard and said that's the only mustard she had, when I told her I was all set - she grabbed my plate without asking what was wrong the food and brought us the check. No thank you and good bye nothing just leave ... Overall a terrible experience and I know a lot has changed since the pandemic. I get it, but I really wish businesses would spend the extra money in tranining and development since there are so many new people working different jobs. read more

One of my families favorite things to do Christmas Day is head to the beach and this year was no different. I was lucky to score a great parking spot and that only made the morning better. We came to the patio bar and grill and although crowded, we only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Our view of the beach was pretty good, but he waitress was awesome. I didn't get her name, but she was very festive in her reindeer antlers and happy smile. Lunch was a delicious New Orleans style gumbo loaded with shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage, topped with a nice scoop of white rice. After that I dug into some teriyaki wings served up hot and crispy. It was a very pleasant experience and one I'd gladly do again. read more

I've been coming here for at least 10 years (feeling old). Back in the day it was a great little bar to go to when you didn't feel like dealing with the craziness of the other Deerfield bars (or spending as much on drinks). Then I started coming during the day for the amazing grouper sandwich. Then the sandwich started not tasting good and then they took it off the menu. Luckily this past visit I was able to get grouper blackened with rice and broccoli and it was good. Like someone else said, it's hit or miss here depending on who your server is. This last server was terrible and couldn't answer any questions about drinks so we ended up ordering beer and I got a Truly (which was terrible as well, but not so terrible that I didn't want to take it in a to-go cup, lol). Friends sandwich was pretty good as well. The food is pretty good overall depending on what you get and the view is really nice too. I'm sure I'll be back again sometime, lol read more

Nestled in the heart of Deerfield Beach the Patio Bar and Grill, which is located in the Wyndham hotel is a very nice restaurant where you can sit and watch the ocean waves as well as people watch and see the many cars go by. The food goes from salads to hamburgers to soup to ribs and had many different varieties to choose from. I got the strawberry salad with salmon which came over spinach but they were very accommodating and changed it the lettuce to romaine. My husband had the clam chowder with a Cobb salad which he said was very good. My friend got a hamburger which came with sweet potato fries that looked delicious. The staff was extremely pleasant and eager to please. The whole atmosphere of sitting by the beach and watching the waves with the plus of having great food was a win win. Rating this based off of other beach type bars/food establishments. We stayed at the Embassy Suites a little south of here and were looking for something walking distance, this was perfect. Great outdoor area, friendly staff, good menu options. I had the mahi entree and it was pretty darned good (I've had better, but for a bar and grill it's an excellent choice). They had some sandwiches and Mahi tacos that all looked fantastic. I can't remember what my girlfriend ordered but she was pleased with her choice, too. We ordered spiked lemonade and that was SO very yummy! They had a few drinks that looked super good! Great casual atmosphere on the beach, good drinks - you should check it out! read more

Patio Bar is located in the heart of east Deerfield across from the Beach. It's a great place to have a cocktail and some bar food and enjoy the ocean breeze. The location is beautiful day or night. I've been here a couple times and the atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. The cocktail menu is pretty decent especially if you are looking for a fruity drink but they have a full bar so they will make anything you desire. I started off with the Ocean Blue drink which I had them change out the tequila for vodka. After dinner I tried their Expresso martini and it hit the spot. For an appetizer we had the calamari which was accompanied with tartar and marinara sauce; it was good but not the best compared to others. For dinner I ordered the mahi tacos and they were very good and very filling. If you are looking for a casual spot in Deerfield is is a good spot. read more

My family and I came here for brunch today and it was far below one star. We sat down and 10 minutes later we were able to get some service. I ordered a Diet Coke and French Fries. The fries came out and were extremely cold so I had to send them back. My mom ordered the Chicken Pot Stickers and they were cold as well and had to send them back. The waitress was very vague and seemed unapologetic about the mistakes. After my second Diet Coke, she asked if I'd like another "Coke", and then informed me that she had been serving me regular Coke the past two rounds. There goes the 300 calories I was saving for dinner in my diet! I have to say, as a teenage girl who cares about my daily calorie intake, I was fuming. As for the ambiance, very loud and lots of intoxicated beach people. We had a man waving at us across the bar thinking we were staring at him, though we were looking out at the ocean which he was seated right in front of. He stumbled over to us and started rambling about his daughter and finished the conversation with a horribly awkward hug towards my dad.
