I visited this place right at lunchtime so there were quite a few people ahead of me, but the line moved pretty quickly. I loved this restaurant because you can choose between raw or cooked meat and they also have many different protein options like cooked salmon, cook shrimp, Chicken, but they also have raw fish for the sushi lovers. You put your order down on a piece of paper and you check different boxes and then you hand the paper over to the cashier which puts in your order. I love this place because they make the food right in front of you And all the ingredients look extremely fresh. My order took less than five minutes and I decided to order a bowl with white rice, salmon and tuna. For my topping I opted for cucumber, edamame, onion, scallions, Nori, and tempura flakes. When it came to the sauces I picked the spicy Sriracha and the wasabi aioli. The portion size was very reasonable when put in comparison with the price, which was less than $20. The bowl tasted absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the sauces made it even more tasty. It's a really confusing layout - I went up to the counter to order and they told me I had to go to the other side of the store and write my order on a menu with a marker. Just found my new poke spot - I've been ordering regularly from uptown poke for years but after a few less than ideal slip ups we decided to try out a new place and boy, I'm glad we did. Red Poke has a more limited menu of toppings and crunches, but what they do offer they knock out of the park - the quality seems just a cut above and the pricing is still on par with uptown. Quality of the fish is excellent, and the flavor of the bowl was exceptional. For vegan bowls, I've had them at many places. Red poke has a Korean twist on poke bowls. I love their option to make half and half bowls (half salad, half starch/ carb). I always get the sweet potato noodle option with mixed greens. The baked tofu is perfectly seasoned and cooked. I love their large variety of toppings options and the different sauces. I have been here several times and ingredients always taste fresh. Bowls are fully customizable or you can choose one of their menu item bowl suggestions. Customer service is friendly & fast. The only thing is that price does run ~$13 for the vegan option (same as if you got the meat/ fish) and I personally feel that it should be cheaper for not getting the fish /meat. They also have some sides such as doen jang soup and gyozas. COVID update- no dining in, just take out. I ordered a salmon and shrimp bowl with added avocado and a poached egg both for an additional charge, which came up to about $17. The quality and quantity of the ingredients is great here, especially for the price. I added a good amount of vegetables to accompany the aquatic proteins and they certainly came together with the Korean BBQ sauce to create a satisfying flavor and texture. Especially when it comes to the grilled salmon and grilled shrimp, there's apparent seasoning for each and their variability in textures make for a great bite overall. The one downfall was in the poached egg. I felt that the egg was nearly raw and it didn't provide much taste to the arrangement besides that adjacent-to-raw effect. Having the running yolk all over everything else (which I usually wouldn't mind, especially since that's what a poached egg is meant to do) doesn't do much great without the taste to accompany it.
