Beef scallion taco-- tastes better than it looks
    Anna P.

A delightful little hole in the wall! I was intrigued by the sandwich board outside advertising scallion pancake tacos and decided to stop by for a snack. First, this place is tiny and has one guy working there. Luckily, he is a great guy, and very efficient. His recommendation of beef topping was spot on, and he asked about and listened to my preferences. Absolutely delicious and larger than expected. I am definitely going to have to come back to try their bowls. Wheelchair access: no steps to get inside.

This place is perfect is you're looking for a quick, affordable, and filling to-go meal on the west side! It is incredibly small inside with only the ingredient counter and 3 barstools. The prices are hard to beat - a bowl with rice, veggies, and meat was under $12. The only downside is that the counter uses loose shakers so toppings like sesame seeds fall into the other ingredients, so this location is definitely not cross contamination allergy safe.

I had never been here before and a lot the restaurants that I used to frequent are no longer around because of the pandemic and new ones are moving in, smaller spaces, no seating to really speak of. Fortune Bowl is new and caught my eye and I looked over their menu. You can either order one of their signature bowls or customize your own bowl. I opted for the later since it was the first time. You start with your base, which can be sushi or brown rice, mixed greens of zucchini noodles. To this you add your protein [chicken, tofu or beef] add hot or cold toppings if desired, some crunch and a selection of sauces [of the 8 listed, 3 are hot.] Drinks are available along with a selection of dumplings. I went for the customized bowl [brown rice] with 2 proteins [herb roasted chicken and charred chicken thigh] hot topping [stir fry mushroom and onion] cold toppings [cheese, some lettuce] crunch [ garlic crisp] and my sauce was the lime cilantro. It was ready quickly and was very good. The place is small and clean, there is minimum counter space-i think enough for two people without being in the way. It was towards the end of the day when I was there so I had no problems sitting at the counter. I liked it, it was reasonably priced, quick, delicious and I would return to investigate other options on the menu.

Solo person in the spot and just intentionally ignored me and added tomato's and slobbered my food in sauce. Refused to make a new order and found out i had a hair in one if them.

I stumbled upon this place while looking for lunch and I'm so glad I did. I got the grilled shrimp noodle bowl and it was delicious! I will definitely be coming back. Friendly service also!

Stopped by on a Friday night for dinner with my best friend. The place itself is gorgeous, moody,…read moreand very architecturally pleasing. To start, we had the lychee martinis. It's not your typical lychee martini. It has Aperol and pineapple, which gives it a great flavor. My only note is that I wish it were a bit stronger. For appetizers we had the yellowtail, which is a must get. It was delicious. We also had the lobster spring rolls, another great dish, and the crispy wontons, which were good but not my favorite compared to everything else. For our entrée we got the beef tenderloin, another must get. It was amazing, super tender, and melts in your mouth. We had it with the fried rice, which was solid. For dessert we had the ice cream sandwich, which was different in the best way and extremely delicious. It wasn't too sweet and the cone "buns" were perfection. Overall, this place is gorgeous and the food matches. I would definitely return. The service was also great, the perfect balance of letting you do your own thing and truly enjoy your evening while still checking in. It is pricey. We each paid $184 including tip, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion or to spoil yourself a bit.

What started as a quick break turned into one of our favorite moments of the afternoon. We ended up chatting with the bartender for quite a while, swapping recommendations for speakeasies and cocktail bars around the city. It's always refreshing to meet someone who's genuinely passionate about their craft and happy to share local favorites. The cocktails were excellent, and the conversation made the experience even better. This wasn't actually our first visit--we celebrated my birthday here about three years ago, and I still remember how impressed we were with both the food and its presentation. It was nice to return and be reminded why we enjoyed it so much. We also learned that 53 has opened a speakeasy downstairs that's open on select weeknights and features live jazz. Needless to say, that's already on our list for our next trip to the city. Whether you're stopping in for a full dinner or just a well-made cocktail and a break from the Midtown bustle, 53 is well worth a visit.

I usually get the wonton soup with the jiaozi dumplings, and it's one of my favorite things on the menu. I haven't really seen that combination anywhere else, and I think it's really unique and really good. They also have a great happy hour. I'm not the biggest fan of the wings, but the shrimp and lobster roll is definitely worth trying. The service has always been good when I've visited, and the atmosphere is always a vibe. It's close to the Theater District, so it's a great spot to grab dinner before or after a show. There's usually a nice crowd, and you might even bump into an actor or celebrity. Overall, it's a place I keep coming back to because the food is consistently good, the service has been solid, and the overall experience is always enjoyable.

Im not sure if there is an elevator but the actual restaurant is up a set of stairs. The space is big, as we were seated we kept walking pass seating areas and I thought to myself , we are still going lol. White table cloth service , sexy dim lighting but lit well enough to read the menu. Grown and sexy vibes. Very good looking crowd of people; something for everyone very diverse. It was a ladies night for me. Plenty of eye candy lol the fellas were also dressed nicely. Today's r&b , afro beats , reggae, a little hip hop was played and at the perfect volume. You can comfortably hear one another. Great date night, girls night or solo spot . They have a very long bar area. Its currently restaurant week and its such a good deal a app, entree and desert all for $45. It was 2 of us and we each got a different item to sample things: Oxtail spring rolls crispy outter layer, savory , tender meat 10/10 the dipping sauce isn't needed Chicken wonton were a 6/10 it seemed frozen and reheated Beijing chicken crispy flavor not a ton of batter 8/10 Black prawns plump flavor bombs , crisp vegetables a little salty for me 8/10 Both entrees served with a hefty side of white rice. We shared one rice and took the other to go with some of the left over protein. All the food came out nice and hot. Deserts Dark chocolate mousse I wasn't a fan too bitter for me Vanilla creme brulee also wasn't a fan a little bit of a weird after taste. It was my bestie birthday they brought a sparkler and some of the staff sang happy birthday with one of the items. Right next door is a parking facility,Street parking seemed manageable for the area. Auto 20% gratuity was added to the bill. Attended here on a Friday night. I recommend making reservations. This was my first visit but will not be my last.
