Grilled Shrimp and pineapple, Pork bowl
    Rebecca N.

Solid Viet spot near Hell's Kitchen! Portions were hearty, generous and filling. I got the grilled pineapple shrimp bowl with rice and it was quite delicious. The restaurant has nice, cozy vibes. I would recommend and come back!

While visiting NYC, one of my kids had a craving for pho. We happened to be in the Hell's Kitchen area and using Yelp found Cha Pa's. Being dinner time, it was pretty busy but we didn't mind the 10 minute wait for a table. Overall the food was good. I had the Cha Pa's Pho. It was a massive portion and the pork was very good. The pho was decent overall. One of my daughters had the Seafood Pho and raved about it. My other daughter had the Grilled meat Pho and seemed to enjoy that. My youngest had the grilled lemongrass chicken which also very good. The service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. We had a lot of leftovers which we somehow managed to fit in our tiny hotel fridge and heated up for lunch the next day. Overall 3.5 stars. Would dine here again.

Really solid spot, especially at the price point. Cha Pa is not necessarily a go-out-of the way destination, but it is a great spot if you're in Hell's Kitchen or midtown. The Banh Mi was excellent, the Pho really good, and the flan unique. I did not like the banh mi fries - they were soggy and not worth ordering at all. Service was kind, fast, and attentive. Nothing was over the top amazing, but also nothing was lacking throughout the meal. Truly waht you want in service at a place with this price point. We brought our kid and it was perfect for a small child too, the space is not huge, but there's enough space to manage. Also a cool spot for photos after the bar. I'd definitely come back, though again, not the place for a fancy night out, but certainly the right place for a good lunch or dinner at a decent pricepoint. Get the pork banh mi - it's the way to go.

A friend of mine is a long-time regular here and I get the hype. The restaurant is cozy, the staff are all very nice, the restroom is clean, service is fast, and the food is delicious. I can only speak to the vermicelli bowl because it's too good to get anything else, but it's my favorite I've had in the city. And their spring rolls are incredible, easily the best I've had period. The vegan spring rolls are standard but the house meat or veggie ones are so good. They have a loyalty program on the digital payment system as well.

Lemongrass flank steak vermicelli bun- this was SUPER spicy, unlike how it is listed on the menu

Cha pas continued to deliver delicious amazing high quality food with exceptional customer service. They have expanded their menu and I am really enjoying their new tofu satay appetizer which is very flavorful. The tofu bahn mi is always delicious Great dine in, consistent high quality for take out as well

The food from my delivery order was excellent. I ordered Fresh Shrimp Summer Rolls, Papaya Shrimp Salad, Beef Pho, Grilled Lemon Grass Chicken, Grilled Shrimp Banh Mi, and Grilled Shrimp and Pineapple with Vermicelli Noodles. Every dish was very good. The Pho broth was flavorful. The lemon grass chicken was well spiced. The grilled shrimp was delicious. The Banh Mi had a nice soft roll with an appropriate tasty filling. Packing was good, and delivery was fast. Highly recommended.

Perfect day for pho with a snowstorm outside. We ordered the "All in one pho" ($19.45) and crispy spring rolls ($8.50). The pho broth was rich and flavorful, with thin-cut sirloin, round steak, and braised beef. The portion of rice noodles was generous, and it came with bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeño, and lime on the side. That said, maybe because of the weather, the bean sprouts and Thai basil didn't look as fresh as I expected. The crispy spring rolls were wrapped in rice paper, which gave the skin a nice chewy texture. Unfortunately, the dining experience itself wasn't great. If you go, don't sit near the door. I was freezing the entire time. The front door was constantly being left open during what seemed like supplies delivery during rush hours, and cold air kept blowing through the second door with people going in and out. It made it hard to fully enjoy the food, which was disappointing.

Cha Pa's is consistently fast and efficient; their service is great. I always get the Special Pho, delicious as always The ambiance right off of 8th ave is a great escape away from the hustle and bustle of the city Tbh bro, I try to go here like every other week during the colder months, it slaps

needed some comfort food and cha pas noodles and grill seemed to have great reviews and non-shock worthy prices - I got the lemongrass chicken pho and it was exactly what I needed on a cold winter day - they give you so much broth, but even though my bowl was overflowing, I had extra. it was a chicken pho but the broth is the seven spiced beef broth. it is so rich and decadent while not being overly salty or heavy - the chicken was dark meat cooked perfectly. it was moist and had absorbed some of the broth flavor - there was a totally solid portion of noodles. they broke apart on the chopsticks and fork a bit which was odd, but they were what you'd expect. pretty average in texture - loved the large portion of bean sprouts adding a fresh crunch within the deep flavors. the lime added a key kick. - it was about 17 dollars after tip. totally decent price tag and filling!

I've come here a good handful of times recently after not having come for a few years, and I was thrilled to see that there are now a couple of vegan and gluten-free items on the menu! There's a vegan pho now, and the vermicelli bowl or rice bowl with tofu are also vegan and gluten-free. I believe there's also a fresh summer roll that can be made with tofu, too. They even have a vegan fish sauce! I've had the vegan pho and the vermicelli bowl with tofu a couple times each and they're both delicious and filling for a good price! The tofu is marinated and very flavorful and grilled to a meaty but still soft texture. The servers are very helpful if you have questions or need help deciding. The vermicelli bowl always comes out so fast (I guess because it's just assembling different components into a bowl). And even the vegan pho didn't take too long to come out either even if they are busy. There isn't a big dining room but there are a bunch of two-top tables along the length of the space. It's very cramped so not great if you're a larger group - it's probably best if you're there as a pair. I'm in this area a lot these days so I think I'll be here pretty regularly!

We went to Cha Pa's for a last minute dinner last Friday. We didn't have a reservation anywhere, and Cha Pa's had a table available to accommodate our group of 4 (plus a toddler!)! I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of vegetarian options including vegan fish sauce. Each category (pho, sandwiches, etc) has at least one vegan and/or vegetarian option. We ordered the vegetarian steamed dumplings to share and I ordered the tofu banh mi. The dumplings were pretty disappointing - they lacked flavor and there was hardly any filling. The banh mi was better, but overall pretty average compared to others I've had. The service was great - they brought out special dishes and cutlery for our tiny human and came around to check if we needed anything else to make sure he was happy. The space is long and narrow with a casual vibe. Even though I didn't love the food, I would consider it a good option for a quick meal while sightseeing in midtown or before/after a show.

I came here for dinner on a Wednesday evening with my friend and it was pretty busy. There wasn't a long wait because the tables turned around pretty quickly despite the quaint small place. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food itself was pretty good. We got the spring rolls and gyoza for appetizers and those were delicious. They came out very fresh and hot so they were super crispy. Then I got the Saigon pho for dinner. It's a very big serving and plenty of noodles.

I mean, it's fine. Is it the best Vietnamese I've ever had? No. Does it satisfy and is super affordable? Yes. Would I go again or order takeout? I would if I was nearby.

The beef soup is clear and light and the noodles have a delightful texture, with a slight chew and good bounce. There's a good portion of braised beef as well. Tender but a bit fatty for my taste, but given the portion it's not going to kill you. Lamb burger ended up as overkill and will be consumed as leftovers but a quick sampling let me know that it's gamey and fatty with strong notes of cumin. Not a bad thing, but something to note for people that might not generally enjoy lamb or cumin. Black pepper beef rice bowl was solid too. Spice wise, you can calibrate accordingly but I'd recommended at least their regular spice level. Decent amount of tenderized but still chewy beef. Both dishes came with a salad of celery, carrot, cucumber, peanuts and seaweed strips in a light sauce. Couldn't quite figure out the sauce but it was lightly tart and refreshing. Space is clean and modern. Neutral wood, well lit. Service is friendly enough. If you dine in, you order at the kiosk and they'll deliver to your table. We had leftovers that they graciously packed up. Solid choice. I hope they stick around as they do bring a different cuisine to the area.

OMG-I just enjoyed one of the most delicious and flavorful Ahi Tuna Poke Bowls EVER!!! Run, don't…read morewalk to try this! It was so delicious. See my photos. The Ahi Tuna was the perfect and proper color it should be. The flavors were SPECTACULAR-WONDERFUL!!! NOTE: WAGAMAMA has added to their menu, since my last visit, so you now have a RAMEN SELECTION, and other yummy additions. I was too full from my spectacular Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl to try the Korean bbq Chicken Wings ($8.95) but, I will definitely be back to try them!! I'll post menu photos so you have an idea of the delicious food choices. (April 2026) My very first delicious bite of Ahi Tuna had a heavenly garlic flavor, it was wonderful, and the sweet green seaweed with rice only added to the wonderfulness. Vertical slices of cucumber, onion and scallion, also add deliciously to my wonderful Poke Bowl. Toasted sesame seeds, too. SIMPLY MARVELOUS!!! Remember to be sure to mix the poke bowl rice as you eat, so that you mix the rice with the yummy sauce that may accumulate at the bottom of the poke bowl. I usually eat a little while, THEN, mix the rice. This was so good, I had to eat, eat, eat, before I could stop to mix. LOL. That sweet green seaweed was so yummy!! A lovely mix of flavors...the garlic, the sweetness....I LOVED IT ALL SO MUCH!!!! When was the last time you enjoyed a dish so very much that you felt like standing up in the restaurant and telling everyone: THIS IS SOOO DELICIOUS!!!! Well, I felt like that, but I didn't stand up and tell everyone, but I did tell the manager, who happen to come to the table to ask how everything was. And I let him know how much I was enjoying the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. He explained why and how the tuna was so flavorful. We had a delightful brief foodie chat. What a joy!! The service is very nice here. I like the atmosphere too. And the music, which is cool; it does not interfere with thinking, or having a conversation. I really like it here . The women's rest room was very nice, and clean, with a Dyson Hand Dryer, so no paper towels on the floor. Yay! Helping our environment, too!! And I like the black and white wall paper, too. See my photos My last visit I enjoyed the Pad Thai, and the same non-alcoholic beverage, " Asian Mint Limeade", from the MINDFUL DRINKS area on the beverage menu. ($9.50) (April 2026). A nice treat! It does have a light carbonation (bubbles). This visit my delicious meal was from the BOWLS SECTION of the food menu, it was the AHI TUNA POKE BOWL ($17.95) (April 2026) With warm, and hot weather on the way, I know I will be enjoying this AHI TUNA POKE BOWL again...and again! If you love good food, good service, and a very cool environment, put this location of WAGAMAMA on your list ! (East side) LOCATED On THIRD AVE, at East 39th Street. There is OUTDOOR SEATING, too, with red umbrellas. See my photos. Enjoy yourself here. Totally delightful. There are several locations in Manhattan. I did not know that. So, the one I have dined at is ON THIRD AVENUE, at EAST 39th Street. Look for the Red Umbrellas outside, at the corner of East 39th Street and Third Avenue. Enjoy!!!

I would rate this a 4.5 instead of a 4 but Yelp doesn't do half ratings lol…read more Yesterday, I was around the neighborhood and noticed Wagamama while wanting lunch. I remembered i liked my experience going to one in London in 2024 and decided to go. I love how attentive the wait staff are, a little too attentive. A waitress, she had long hair and a nose ring, approached me when I was just glancing her way during eating. I didn't need anything, but I appreciate the favor. That same waitress gave me my receipt too early like she wanted me to leave ASAP. This was right before I asked to look at the desserts after I finished my meal. A "Would you like some dessert?" would have be appreciated. Cedrick, my principal waiter, was phenomenal. He decided to take care of me after no one was at the hosting desk for 5 minutes after I arrived. I had the chicken potsticker ramen and it was delicious! The potsticker was seasoned very well: my favorite part. To drink, I had the Asian Arnold Palmer and it was a cute drink! Only downside is the sweetness was not even distributed through the drink, even after I mixed the drink. Even though I had an issue with the service, I saw how caring they were (he looked like a manager now) to a family that came after me with organizing their seats and getting a baby chair. I just wished they gave me the same respect instead of rushing me out the door.
