Came here for lunch on a weekday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was exactly what we were looking for... Inexpensive, cozy and comfortable atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The place was a little busy, but they didn't take reservations. Amazing service and delicious food! The food was fresh and came out fast. Portions are generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. My favorite dish was Vegan Pho without tofu, which was delicious, also gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Vietnamese Coffee with Oat milk is gluten free, dairy free and soy free as well. Their menu has many options to offer, including gluten free, soy free, and dairy free options. We would come back again and highly recommend you check out this place if you are in Hell's Kitchen or Columbus Circle.

Quick service. Got seated right away in a Thursday night. Delicious Vietnamese food. The Pho was incredible and flavorful

While visiting NYC, one of my kids had a craving for pho. We happened to be in the Hell's Kitchen area and using Yelp found Cha Pa's. Being dinner time, it was pretty busy but we didn't mind the 10 minute wait for a table. Overall the food was good. I had the Cha Pa's Pho. It was a massive portion and the pork was very good. The pho was decent overall. One of my daughters had the Seafood Pho and raved about it. My other daughter had the Grilled meat Pho and seemed to enjoy that. My youngest had the grilled lemongrass chicken which also very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was excellent and the restaurant was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a lot of leftovers which we somehow managed to fit in our tiny hotel fridge and heated up for lunch the next day. Overall 3.5 stars. Would dine here again.

Solid Viet spot near Hell's Kitchen! Portions were hearty, generous and filling. I got the grilled pineapple shrimp bowl with rice and it was quite delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has nice, cozy vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would recommend and come back!

Lemongrass flank steak vermicelli bun- this was SUPER spicy, unlike how it is listed on the menu

Cha pas continued to deliver delicious amazing high quality food with exceptional customer service. They have expanded their menu and I am really enjoying their new tofu satay appetizer which is very flavorful. The tofu bahn mi is always delicious Great dine in, consistent high quality for take out as well

Really solid spot, especially at the price point. Cha Pa is not necessarily a go-out-of the way destination, but it is a great spot if you're in Hell's Kitchen or midtown. The Banh Mi was excellent, the Pho really good, and the flan unique. I did not like the banh mi fries - they were soggy and not worth ordering at all. Service was kind, fast, and attentive. Nothing was over the top amazing, but also nothing was lacking throughout the meal. Truly waht you want in service at a place with this price point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We brought our kid and it was perfect for a small child too, the space is not huge, but there's enough space to manage.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also a cool spot for photos after the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd definitely come back, though again, not the place for a fancy night out, but certainly the right place for a good lunch or dinner at a decent pricepoint. Get the pork banh mi - it's the way to go.

The food from my delivery order was excellent. I ordered Fresh Shrimp Summer Rolls, Papaya Shrimp Salad, Beef Pho, Grilled Lemon Grass Chicken, Grilled Shrimp Banh Mi, and Grilled Shrimp and Pineapple with Vermicelli Noodles. Every dish was very good. The Pho broth was flavorful. The lemon grass chicken was well spiced. The grilled shrimp was delicious. The Banh Mi had a nice soft roll with an appropriate tasty filling. Packing was good, and delivery was fast. Highly recommended.

Perfect day for pho with a snowstorm outside. We ordered the "All in one pho" ($19.45) and crispy spring rolls ($8.50). The pho broth was rich and flavorful, with thin-cut sirloin, round steak, and braised beef. The portion of rice noodles was generous, and it came with bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeño, and lime on the side. That said, maybe because of the weather, the bean sprouts and Thai basil didn't look as fresh as I expected. The crispy spring rolls were wrapped in rice paper, which gave the skin a nice chewy texture. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, the dining experience itself wasn't great. If you go, don't sit near the door. I was freezing the entire time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front door was constantly being left open during what seemed like supplies delivery during rush hours, and cold air kept blowing through the second door with people going in and out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It made it hard to fully enjoy the food, which was disappointing.

A friend of mine is a long-time regular here and I get the hype. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is cozy, the staff are all very nice, the restroom is clean, service is fast, and the food is delicious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can only speak to the vermicelli bowl because it's too good to get anything else, but it's my favorite I've had in the city. And their spring rolls are incredible, easily the best I've had period. The vegan spring rolls are standard but the house meat or veggie ones are so good. They have a loyalty program on the digital payment system as well.

Cha Pa's is consistently fast and efficient; their service is great. I always get the Special Pho, delicious as always [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance right off of 8th ave is a great escape away from the hustle and bustle of the city[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Tbh bro, I try to go here like every other week during the colder months, it slaps

needed some comfort food and cha pas noodles and grill seemed to have great reviews and non-shock worthy prices - I got the lemongrass chicken pho and it was exactly what I needed on a cold winter day - they give you so much broth, but even though my bowl was overflowing, I had extra. it was a chicken pho but the broth is the seven spiced beef broth. it is so rich and decadent while not being overly salty or heavy - the chicken was dark meat cooked perfectly. it was moist and had absorbed some of the broth flavor - there was a totally solid portion of noodles. they broke apart on the chopsticks and fork a bit which was odd, but they were what you'd expect. pretty average in texture - loved the large portion of bean sprouts adding a fresh crunch within the deep flavors. the lime added a key kick. - it was about 17 dollars after tip. totally decent price tag and filling!

I've come here a good handful of times recently after not having come for a few years, and I was thrilled to see that there are now a couple of vegan and gluten-free items on the menu! There's a vegan pho now, and the vermicelli bowl or rice bowl with tofu are also vegan and gluten-free. I believe there's also a fresh summer roll that can be made with tofu, too. They even have a vegan fish sauce! I've had the vegan pho and the vermicelli bowl with tofu a couple times each and they're both delicious and filling for a good price! The tofu is marinated and very flavorful and grilled to a meaty but still soft texture. The servers are very helpful if you have questions or need help deciding. The vermicelli bowl always comes out so fast (I guess because it's just assembling different components into a bowl). And even the vegan pho didn't take too long to come out either even if they are busy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isn't a big dining room but there are a bunch of two-top tables along the length of the space. It's very cramped so not great if you're a larger group - it's probably best if you're there as a pair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm in this area a lot these days so I think I'll be here pretty regularly!

    Tofu banh mi

We went to Cha Pa's for a last minute dinner last Friday. We didn't have a reservation anywhere, and Cha Pa's had a table available to accommodate our group of 4 (plus a toddler!)! I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of vegetarian options including vegan fish sauce. Each category (pho, sandwiches, etc) has at least one vegan and/or vegetarian option. We ordered the vegetarian steamed dumplings to share and I ordered the tofu banh mi. The dumplings were pretty disappointing - they lacked flavor and there was hardly any filling. The banh mi was better, but overall pretty average compared to others I've had. The service was great - they brought out special dishes and cutlery for our tiny human and came around to check if we needed anything else to make sure he was happy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is long and narrow with a casual vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Even though I didn't love the food, I would consider it a good option for a quick meal while sightseeing in midtown or before/after a show.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. Decent, but the wait and price make it hard to love. Might try again if they speed things up.

I ordered "Plain Pho", which is described as just broth and noodles, no garnish or meat. After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.

So when my family stumbled into Pho 39, a tiny spot with just a handful of tables tucked away from the chaos outside, it felt less like finding a restaurant and more like discovering a Rebel outpost that somehow survived undetected in the middle of Imperial territory. The menu is exactly what you'd expect from a solid Vietnamese spot: pho, combination rice plates, the usual lineup. We were ready to order and move on with our lives. Then we saw the tacos. Vietnamese tacos. On the menu. Sitting right there between the banh mi and the spring rolls like they'd always belonged. Nobody in my family said anything for a full three seconds, which for us is basically a standing ovation. We ordered the duck spring rolls to start, which were fresh, well packed, and disappeared faster than a starfighter in hyperspace. For the mains we went with the beef flank pho and the banh mi combination special. The pho had a clean, well developed broth that clearly had some time put into it, and the beef flank was tender enough to make you slow down and pay attention. The banh mi combo was solid, balanced, and hit all the right notes. We did not get the tacos this visit, which means we have a built in reason to return and nobody can argue with that logic. For a small room in the middle of one of the busiest cities on the planet, Pho 39 manages to feel genuinely calm and focused. Good food, good value, and a menu with enough surprises to keep things interesting. The Force is strong with this little spot.

For many in the East Village, this has been the default takeout and delivery spot for years, and it holds up just as well when you dine in. The Beef Rendang Nasi Lemak is the order I keep coming back to. On a recent lunch visit I tried the Mee Goreng from the Lunch Set menu and it was the standout of the meal: savory from soy sauce and fish sauce, sweet, spicy, tangy, and smoky from the wok. The beef pad see ew has some of the best noodles I've ever had, the sizzling steak lives up to its entrance, the shrimp summer rolls are fresh, and the chicken laksa is full of flavor. The one miss was the Curry Laksa, where the lemongrass and curry never quite came together. Lunch sets come with a drink, and the Vietnamese iced coffee beats the Thai iced tea, bolder and less sweet.
