It turned out to be the highlight, sitting at the "Chef's Counter" by the pizza station on the covered porch. (We are foodies, and always appreciate an opportunity to sit at a chef's table.) It was a fun spot with a great view of the action and personal interaction with two very hard working pizza chefs. We shared the beet salad, which was a nice start, followed by the skirt steak, the fungi pizza, and grilled asparagus. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. We also enjoyed a very nice Tempranillo with dinner. Our server, Stephanie, was excellent--friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to have taking care of us. Overall, a very enjoyable meal in a great setting. We'd be happy to return.

People seem surprised in Annapolis at the wine bar popularity but the concept is well-entrenched in many urban areas because it gives the customer dining choices from simple plates to dinner with great wines. Unfortunately, Red Red Wine fails to deliver on either. The ambience is very nice but lacks a soul or vibe.The televisions behind the bar are unwelcomed in a place where i want to eat/drink without having to be distracted by screen images. The service was mediocre and the bartender had very little knowledge of wine. The Italian red I ordered was slightly oxidized which would suggest storage issues with the wine.When i inquired about that, the bartender told me the wines were kept under climate control, which is nice but didn't address my concern.The overall wine list is very weak and the corkage fee policy for ordering a bottle of wine is very odd.I would have preferred straight pricing on the bottle, no gimmicks. With respect to the food it was very "downtown"; nothing particularly interesting though the cheese selection I ordered was quite good. There was nothing in the food or service that would want to make me return. And, being downtown, the parking becomes a bit of an issue. I have reviewed the three options(see my other reviews) in the heart of Annapolis and when I take into account food, service, wine selection/knowledge, ambience/vibe, my vote goes to Crush. I have written on other wine bars in town and had my first visit to this establishment. Firstly, the wine list is rather pedestrian and somewhat insulting to anyone who knows wine.I have no understanding on why, if you order a bottle of wine(as opposed to a glass), there is a corkage fee built in to the price. Wines are sold retail at $10 less than the wine list price(the same charge as the corkage fee), which seems capricious at best. I asked the server how they prevent oxidation of open wine and she had no idea what I was talking about. She deferred to "management".The space is quite nice and has a similar feel to another wine bar/ restaurant up the street but having the TV's behind the bar detracts as does the full liquor bar. The menu is uninteresting, similar to what every place in town seems to do but in the spirit of disclosure I did not eat on this visit. The cheese list looked appealing I am a firm believer that wine and food need to both be taken seriously and, at first glance, there is not a good understanding of that here. While the staff seemed nice, the t-shirts, visible tattos and shorts on one member put me off. But mostly, the weak wine list and corkage fee policy are simply a non-starter. While I will come back and sample the food, I think there are clearly better and more interesting wine bar options, with food and wine. read more

My girlfriend and I went down to Red Red Wine to listen to a very good local band that often plays at different venues in town. While the music was great, the rest of the experience was horrible. We sat at the bar and while there were only a few people there, it took 10 minutes to get water. When I asked whether a specific wine that I saw in the cooler was available by the glass, I got no answer and it was poured. Good wine but simply an indifferent attitude. The pizzas we ordered were average at best, a bit burned on the crust. We ordered some cheese after and, while the cheese was good, the bread was either stale or a poor excuse for crostini. As time went on, any semblance of service disappeared. The bartender at one point was on her knees laughing about something and then hi-fiving another server behind the bar.The noise level was way too high, even given the music. There clearly was nobody in charge and no attention to any type of customer experience. As a former patron of the Purple tooth I have been waiting for this wine bar to open since January. I first went the Tuesday after they opened for a glass of after dinner wine with my parents who were visiting. The wine was so good and the owners so nice we ended up having two glasses each and a cheese plate. Intrigued by the menu I went with my SO on Sunday night. Three words- Wine On Tap. The cab merlot was awesome as well as the Reisling. We had two pizzas and paninis- Were they Papa Jonhs size? No- but thats not what I expected. We enjoyed it so much that we are taking the regular group that we go to dinner with there tonight- They even offered up the private room which looks gorgeous. I gotta say, from decor to drinks to live music THIS SPOT HAS GOT IT GOIN' ON. My first time there tonight with my wife and two of our friends. Great food, great bartenders, great atmosphere. I have to admit, I heard the night life in Annapolis is geared more towards 'stuffy 'or the kids, but this bar definitely has some things to offer the 'grown ups' that love night time without someone yelling "SHOTS" over top of them all night. First actual wine bar i have given a shot- and can't wait to go back. My wife adored the fun that the bartenders offered our night, playful and attentive. RRWB is the best restaurant in downtown Annapolis. I have worked in Annapolis for years and I absolutely hate the choice of restaurants in the area. RRWB provides a fresh atmosphere, great food, amazing wine and an excellent staff. All of the negative comments are ridiculous. I would love to see what all you food/wine critics restaurant would be like if you opened it. However, you probably lack the confidence to step out and undertake a venture like this. Good food, Greater service (only sat at the bar, so the bartender is all I can speak for) and a CLEAN environment - after days of dining in dirty Annapolis restaurants I was overjoyed to be here. I never heard of this dessert before and felt the need to try it. Zabaglione consists of a smooth dessert of egg custard creamed with Marsala wine served in a glass with strawberries. According to their menu it is their house specialty. I enjoyed the dessert and it was very light. I recommend you try it instead of the typical piece of cake dessert at least once in your lifetime if you see it on the menu. My girlfriend got the gluten free cheese pizza which was kind of average. Again, this is based on a delivery order, not knocking the pizza per say but I sugguest you probably shouldn't get pizza at a place like this as they offer some dynamite seafood dishes. I frequently dine at the Kitchen and you can always find me at the bar. Erin is one of the best bartenders in Annapolis and she can make you so many special cocktails that you would be pleasantly surprised. While I wish they had more liquor choices, they have the key ingredients. Hopefully they can continue to grow the liquor and wine listings. They have an arrangement of beers with local Maryland beers on Tap. As I've said in my previous short post, they do a sunset toast for everyone sitting at the bar. This has ranged from a toast of a special cocktail to a toast of a special shot of soup. It's pretty fun and it gets everyone at the bar talking. I won't lie, the food at the Kitchen when they first opened was okay. The Head Chef, Roshaad, has really made the meals fantastic. Just the other night, a woman to my right was saying how delicious the burger was. I frequently enjoy the wings while I'm watching the game. Their flatbreads are fantastic and their Chicken Sandwich is super tasty! If you get a chance to stay at the hotel or if you want to get away from the tourist feel of Annapolis, the Kitchen on West Street is your place!

The burger meat was overdone and they didn't include much avocado... if it was prepared medium (as requested), I think it would've been much better. This is a very convenient option if you are staying in the hotel, and it is a solid offering overall. I opted to order the Grains & Greens Salad which consists of quinoa, farro, radishes, cucumbers, pickled red onions, asparagus, snap peas, herb dressing and added grill chicken. It was so delicious, the salad is refreshing and the grilled chicken is super tender and just enough flavor. My co-worker got the Bang Bang shrimp tostada and Margherita flatbread from the happy hour menu. She said her food was amazing and the margarita she got is delicious and was glad that use fresh lime and not the mixer.

Our server was polite and friendly and the manager (Mason I believe) who visited our table was super informative about the chefs tasing menu and advised us that to really make the most of the experience it would be better to arrive earlier so as to not feel rushed and allow the chef time for each dish which we understood and will make a reservation to come back for. The Waygu Short Rib Wellington was both filling and satisfying to devour, while the Halibut with miso ginger and imperial rice was a visual work of art. The server was knowledgeable and if he didn't know the answer to one of our questions (as first-timers), he found the answer for us. All of our dishes were on point! The website states "From Farmer's Hands To Ours. It Starts With Local, Fresh Ingredients". Certainly, that statement shined with the execution and taste of our dishes! Our party of 4 ordered Smoked and Brined Chicken Wings, Fried Oysters, Spinach Salad with Blackened Chicken, Greek Salad with Shrimp, Bone-In Pork Chop (blackened, with Korean BBQ Cream, Corn & Pepper Saute, and mashed potatoes), and the Bistro Steak.
