    Halo-Halo
    Chabely I.

This place is such a ray of sunshine. Great variety of affordable desserts and the staff is super friendly. Their halo-halo is the right amount for a great price.

Reliable Filipino chain for baked goods and other desserts. Honestly, the thing that I get here the most is their affordable halo halo . I find that most of the mom and pop shops theres no consistency for their halo halo. I like to get an affordable one from time to time and this is the place where I usually go. It's made quick. There's lots of toppings and there's always a good piece of flan on top.

    Cakes.. need i say more?

Red Ribbon Bakeshop at Roosevelt Avenue, Queens, NYC is a Filipino Bakeshop that is well known in the Philippines for their delicious and amazing cakes for all occasions, and pastries. I always buy something here whenever I am in New York. This store is conveniently located at the Roosevelt Avenue, where you can take the subway if you stay at Manhattan, or a quick 30 minute drive. The store is small but full of baked goodness from delicious cakes that you can purchase whole or a slice. They also have assorted flavors of ensaymada, mamon, and polvoron. They also serve empanadas and pancit palabok. Ube Overload Cake and Mango Supreme Cake is so good and one of the favorites! Service is good, complete with Filipino hospitality and smile. Clean, cozy and relaxing ambiance with the aroma of freshly baked goods. Check it out!

Yummy Filipino empanadas & baked goods! Fast service and take out ambiance. I was in neighborhood and didn't realize it was so close so decided to go in since I was right there.

Tried the halo halo and it was superb. The combination of shaved ice, ube ice cream, flan, jelly, condensed milk, cream, and all the other fillings was delicious

    Halo halo

I went to this big shop with a few friends and I'm so glad we went period to find a Filipino bakery is a rare delight. When we arrived at the shop, we were greeted with smiles and salutations. The mamon are lining the window, boasting 4 flavors. I knew by the way a few shoppers were tossing them into a basket, I needed to snag a few. The there were the cakes.... full stop. The cakes were beautiful, decadent and ready to sell. They were so pretty, i thought they were displays! I tried the ube explosion and it was EVERYTHING!!!! Fluffy, delicious, and not cloying sweet. And the mamon were delicious too. So soft and tasty. My friends enjoyed their halo halo and vowed to get a slice of cake next time. I will definitely be back!

Love this place to fulfill my ube and Black Forest cake cravings! Their ube desserts actually taste like ube. The cake itself is fluffy and the cream is not too sweet - just what I'm looking for. I've also tried the flan and the mango cake which are pretty good as well. Make sure to eat the flan fresh! Line is usually long but moves quickly. I've heard good things about the mamons so will def be back for that!

The Ube coconut roll is something you have to try. We had it delivered and was nicely packaged.

    Halo halo

It's taken me forever to finally try this place. I know it's a chain, but the quality here is really good. Do not sleep on the mamon. MAMON (Ube and Mocha) - we got these fluffy little breads that come in the packages and upon eating the mocha one we were just shocked by how good it was - it doesn't look like much but for the mocha, the coffee flavor is bold, rich, and really hits you in the face and wakes you up in a great way. The chocolate flavor wasn't overpowering and it wasn't too sweet. The texture is very much like chinese sponge makes if you're familiar with that. The Ube one was good too, and had a subtler flavor than the mocha one, so our standing favorite is the Mocha. HALO HALO Solid halo halo, the ice chunks are rather large and so I was chewing on ice for a good portion of it but the layers of flavor are great and they really do make it stand out with their whipped mango topping which is decadently smooth, and tastes of marshmallow with shreds of dried mango inside. You don't lose it either like you would ice cream, as it doesn't dissolve into the milk. Green jelly, red bean and ube layers are delicious. Little bit of flan for good measure.

I'd been here multiple times. What a shame that I have never reviewed this bakery shop. It is a staple to Filipino community in terms of baked goods. From ensaymada to their famous occasion cakes, it is hard to choose which to pick either to eat at the moment or to take out. I can't remember how often have I tried their famous and people's favorite mango cake and ube cake. Nothing is sweeter than the bakery's cake, always a delight to have anything from the store. For todays visit, got their famous empanada ( box) and the to die for Brazo de Mercedes. The sans rival is very tempting but I said pass this time. It was quite busy during the visit hour but worth to wait. Sadly their tasteful arroz caldo that I'd been craving for was not available. I'd meaning to come back.

    mold in the Cheesy Mamon

normally I like the baked items from Red Ribbon but this time I purchased it this past weekend and found that the Cheesy Mamon and a Cheesy Ensaimada both had mold in it. The date of expiration was 6/3 and they were kept in the fridge since it was purchased. Not a good thing to be finding mold in food that hasn't expired according to the label.

I bought some cheesecake mamon at woodside red ribbon New York and there is bunch of mold inside, and I don't know why they still selling the products 3 days before the expiration. and I spoke to the supervisor his Name is Brylle and he can't even answer my questions until he contacted the general manager his name is Lito and his very tricky and a lier,.. pls don't ever buy there products anymore it's just gross and dirty

The round cake is 10inch and the rectangular cake is larger (14-15 people)

I have an allergy so are any nuts used in the cakes?

Hi Christian, thank you for your message. Yes, we make our products in a facility that may use nuts.

Do you have to pre order the ube cake?

It is available in our stores. But since this is one of our best sellers, it would be best to call the branch to ensure that the cake is in stock. Please check our store list for the nearest Red Ribbon branch you can order from at…

I grabbed a ham and cheese croissant and a strawberry soft cream cake. The croissant was actually flaky with a decent butter flavor, not dry or bready like a lot of chain spots. The ham wasn't cheap-tasting either, which I half expected. The strawberry cake was light and not overly sweet, more whipped cream than sugar bomb, which made it easy to finish without feeling gross. Also tried their iced latte. Nothing fancy, but it wasn't burnt or watery, which honestly already puts it above a lot of similar chains. What stands out is consistency. You can walk into almost any location and know exactly what you're getting. Display is always stocked, everything looks clean, and the ordering process is quick even when it's busy. It's not a destination bakery, but that's not the point. It's a reliable, better-than-average stop when you want something quick that still feels a little elevated.

The staff is really nice and easy-going. Also, the young (I think) 2nd Gen owner (very cool seeing the culture carried on) is there a lot. Everything is freshly baked and a good portion. Even the sandwiches and salads in the packaged food case look really good. I've had the custard cream bun, hotdog garlic roll, & a egg, ham & hash brown roll (wasn't a huge fan, the hash brown doesn't stay crispy). I've tried the Portuguese egg tart (Pastel de Nata) & that wasn't so great - reminded me of the egg tarts from Aldi, sweet bland filler custard. The staff can heat the pastries up for you, but it might take at least two rounds for larger items. Highly recommend the round fried rice flour/mochi doughnut, soboro bao (the peanut butter crust-topped bun) & if they have, a coffee/mocha shell-topped bao. You can't go wrong with a Korean chiffon cake slice - not too sweet, and light as air buttercream. Not sure if the strawberry cake is based off of Japanese strawberry (birthday) cake. I've never had their drinks, so don't have a review about them. I don't get the impression that the drinks are the strength of the café. Paris Baguette is a chain from Korea. I think their cafés in Korea are a lot bigger and very nice/comfortable, the US version is a more minimal and quick service kind of set up. For $4 -15 you can get a decent pastry, sandwich, or salad which is a great option for the area, LaGuardia Community College students & hotel guests nearby.
