Omfg. I went there yesterday and today to get my coffee and breakfast and what is wrong with management!!!!!! On the hottest days, there was no AC and I felt soooo bad for the workers. They look like they were dying in the heat. I asked one of them if she was ok as she look like she was about to pass out. If management is reading this, you need to do better for your employees. How can you expect them to work in such bad conditions and not even be there to help them. Turn on the AC for Christ sakes. I wish I could have done more for the workers. read more

This coffee shop is convenient if I need to run out for a quick coffee or a muffin. However their coffee is not that great, I feel like it is not very strong and it is a bit watered down. I do like their muffins a lot since they do have a large variety of them and are always fresh. Most of their items are overpriced which is also the reason I don't purchase from here very often. A bacon egg and cheese can easily cost you almost $7 here. I have tried their premade sandwiches and they are a hit or miss. This is the second location I've been too of the Caffe Bene franchise and I have to say, I liked this one better than the first! Definitely a super cute spot to grab a quick bite or a sweet treat. Caffe Bene has a plethora of drinks you can choose from but I ordered my usual non-fat iced chai tea latte. I'm a bit particular about my chai tea lattes as I like mine on the spicier side and not too sweet. This one was a bit on the sweet side but definitely enjoyed it. I also decided to get a chocolatey dessert which was quite good too. Surprisingly not too sweet. I stopped in here as I needed a cafe for WiFi. Even though this location is tiny, there are quite a few tables here. They also have a restroom at this location that you need a code to access it. I didn't use it, but I appreciate that they had one for customers. There were a bunch of signs around saying "please only stay for 20 minutes to allow for other customers to utilize seating" (I'm paraphrasing). I also appreciated that as well. They didn't ask me to for my vaccination card even though there were signs saying customers dining in would be asked. Finally, I didn't stay for long because the WiFi was not working. On your receipt you're given the WiFi name and password. I sat down and signed in, but I kept getting kicked off. I ended up going to a Starbucks nearby for their WiFi to do some work. I'm not a coffee drinker so I wanted some chai latte. It was a very cute shop. The prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed with the chai latte. I wish I could give this place a good review but it's filthy. I feel like I'm in Porto Authority circa 1992. The coffee/food is a bit meh but it would be a fine place to stop in if it weren't so dirty. The front of the shop is used as a sticking area it seems, full of boxes spilling out their contents, random milk crates lying around. Also they have one barista trying to do everything, which is ridiculous. You wait forever (which would be less annoying if at least the spot were clean.) it's a shame because it has so much potential. I think if this place improved their cleanliness, coffee and food it would be a huge success because we need more cafes in this area. Caffe Bene has such a unique selection of drinks, food, desserts, & bakery that I was very excited to try! All visually pleasing, I was excited and conflicted with all these great options. The quesadilla was tasty, but the açaí bowl was watery. The latter did not suite my boyfriend's taste buds. The dessert was deliciously sweet, & the macaroon was perfect. I also had an iced coffee here a day or two later that I really enjoyed. Strong and fairly sweet--just the way I like it. I will definitely be coming back to try other desserts here. The staff here is super friendly and I get the sense that the management cares. If you just want an easy, nice day, I would stop by here for a treat! They have some interesting food here. I got the pesto grilled cheese and the bacio gelato milkshake. I didn't go for a coffee or their bakery goods, since I'm familiar with them in their other locations, so I'm rounding up my review stars to be fair. The milkshake took awhile to make (think they had new members figuring out the recipe), but it was worth it. I prefer milkshakes on the thicker side, but it was extremely flavorful nevertheless. The pesto grilled cheese is a sandwich made of waffles and I believe white American cheese. A bit salty, but that's because it had a thick, goopy layer of American cheese. The pesto flavor was good. I think the grilled cheese could benefit from either a mixture of cheeses or a different kind. Another trick is they can relocate some of the cheese and put it outside so out becomes crusted to the bread. I had a good time either way, and the atmosphere here is pleasant. I typically come here to get some work done, grab a cup of coffee, and just chill. However today I bought a sandwich to bring home. Halfway through I felt my throat getting a bit itchy and tight, then I noticed a smell, which at first I didn't notice because of the dressing. Flipping my sandwich over I find that they had made my sandwich with moldy bread. I am disgusted and mortified by the thought that I may have ingested some before the moment when I actually noticed that something was off. Disappointed and disgusted and feeling sick. Stopped here for my first time to have a take away lunch recently on a walk. It's a cute little cafe with a good amount of seating inside. Big menu, lots of coffee and breakfast options. They also have a great selection of pre made pastas, wraps, salads etc in their to go section. I got a chicken pesto sandwich on multigrain roll and an iced coffee. The sandwich was amazing, stuffed with chicken spinach and cheese, and the coffee was pretty good too. I wish the staff wore masks. Could've been a bit cleaner as well but I'm sure they're low staffed. Will definitely come back though! read more

Wasn't great, but there wasn't a line so it was quick. L thoroughly enjoyed his mochaccino, except for the part where it was completely sealed, taped, with just so much packaging. Luckily they didn't prepare mine yet, so I told the cashier she didn't have to pack it up. Since there was so much plastic wrap, even some tape, L spilled some of his coffee all over his dress shirt. The cashier that was somewhat helpin me was very nice but she seemed to be doin most of the work even though I saw other staff around. Amazing selection of macaroons of all colors of the rainbow. Yum! Random bars of maca with coconut, check. A bar of chocolately goodness called Awake where a bite of it is equivalent to half a cup o' joe, check. Oddities as in weird chocolate bars from faraway European or Latin American countries yeah. Baked goods like brownies, waffles, and pound cake were all aplenty here. There are other delicious and scrumptious treats topped with whipped cream and strawberries and chocolate, but I didn't want to go on and on. Please see my photos to get a feel for the inside. I even noticed the great lunch options like panini, burrito, penne, and mac and cheese. I digress, but most importantly, they have coffee, tea, and beverages that I have never even heard of or known to be in existence. It's nice to be pleasantly and rather petrifyingly surprised. It could be a four (in terms of five stars... nothing's perfect, and they are a bit expensive), but it only gets two stars for the fact that the majority of the time- there is absolutely no soap in the bathroom! (Even in the midst of a pandemic!) That's just unsanitary and gross! And it means the employees aren't washing their hands either (as they use the same bathroom!), which is definitely a health code violation. And they don't seem at all concerned about it, acting like I'm being ridiculous /a huge pain in the ass when I ask them for soap! (Honestly, they should get a zero just for that!) And that's really the worst part- it's not because they're crazy busy and just can't keep up with it, it's that they think I'm crazy for expecting a bathroom to have soap! It also bugs me that so many of their products often don't have prices, or they haven't updated the price tag after raising their prices (multiple times), so it's a fun little surprise at the register! (Kind of false advertising, no?) So that doesn't sit well with me. And the soap thing us just disgusting! But otherwise... they're fine /have pretty good food. read more

This place has many good items. The display of everything is very neat.. felt like I was a kid in a candy store. I came in the evening time a few days ago and it was pretty busy inside. I ended up spending over $40 bucks on desserts and food. The employees were very welcoming and delightful! I had many questions and they gave me recommendations which I ended up loving! The lovely female also provided me with a drink loyalty card which I think is absolutely fabulous given that there is a FREE COFFEE after the 4th one. Unethical service. Unfriendly workers. Saturday, 4/16/16. 1:23 pm. Customer in front of me orders and pays for a large frappe and is given a medium. Naturally, he points it out. Employee takes the dirtied blender glass and tries to tap out however many drops she has left of the drink into a new large cup (literally drops). Then takes the customer's medium drink and adds the content into large cup, puts a lid on it and hands it to customer. Customer, looking confused, asks, "This is a large??" There is visibly over an inch of space left from the top of the cup. Employee confirms with a nod. YOU JUST GAVE HIM A MEDIUM DRINK (plus leftover from sink) IN A LARGE CUP!!! They also water down their coffee and rarely clean their garbage area. read more

Came back today (August 30, 2019) and ordered two Banana Bacon Bits waffles, 1 Italian seafood salad, 1 Acai berry smoothie and tasted water down and the cup didn't look like it was 16oz. I didn't complain because we didn't get a receipt. I was really disappointed in coming to caffe bene and how it turned out. The overall quality of the food was not great. The banana bacon bits waffles was plated less than what we got the first time. And they made it up by giving us an extra waffle. The waffles were not made right. It was too chewy. We also ordered the Italian seafood salad- it was eh and sour because of the vinegar. I'll rethink in coming back to caffe bene depending on the customers in the store. read more

Jackson Heights definitely needed another cafe and Caffebene fits the bill. I will say that their drip coffee is not the greatest. It's more like a very good version of deli coffee. When the taste of your coffee is the most important thing, Espresso 77 may be a better bet. On the other hand, here you get a bright, open space, and a tremendous selection of sweets and pastries, hot sandwiches, even a large selection of juices and my two favorite brands of potato chips. Plus, the owners (I think they are a couple) are very friendly, patient and welcoming. Despite a long line and some dithering customers, my tasty and inexpensive tuna melt on a croissant was delivered to my table 5 minutes after ordering. There appears to be a great mix of customers already--students caffeinating while studying, families sharing waffles, people on laptops, people on lunch breaks. read more

Woohoo! I'm so excited to have another cafe in the neighborhood! We came here for breakfast and we had the ham & egg sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich and the Found cucumber drink. We had never had this before, but it was quite tasty and hit the spot. The space is so nice and bright and it seems like you can always find a seat (unlike Starbucks). I really want to like this place but they make it difficult. At first I was happy to find a place that has so many options and especially healthy options. However I find that the staff does not know the menu. i've ordered the same chicken pesto quinoa bowl three times and each time it had different ingredients in it (one time is was clearly a mexican bowl). Even when I question them at check out they assure me it's the right thing but it never is.
