Black beans, chickpeas, and corn are NOT keto-friendly.
    J M.

I sometimes get the sandwiches as a quick grab & go option, and it can be hit or miss. I've tried the nitro cold brew and a few other types of coffee drinks and didn't care for them. My macaron seemed stale. The thing that prompted me to write a review is that they're selling non-keto food as keto. The "Southwest Keto Salad" contains beans and corn which are definitely not keto-friendly. Like not even close.

Ate here today for lunch by myself while working as a temporary substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 69 Q that I had brought the cold and fresh ham swiss sandwich and a side of cold glass of apple juice. It had tasted great, delicious and fresh. The service there was also attentive. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

This is the second location I've been too of the Caffe Bene franchise and I have to say, I liked this one better than the first! Definitely a super cute spot to grab a quick bite or a sweet treat. Caffe Bene has a plethora of drinks you can choose from but I ordered my usual non-fat iced chai tea latte. I'm a bit particular about my chai tea lattes as I like mine on the spicier side and not too sweet. This one was a bit on the sweet side but definitely enjoyed it. I also decided to get a chocolatey dessert which was quite good too. Surprisingly not too sweet. I stopped in here as I needed a cafe for WiFi. Even though this location is tiny, there are quite a few tables here. They also have a restroom at this location that you need a code to access it. I didn't use it, but I appreciate that they had one for customers. There were a bunch of signs around saying "please only stay for 20 minutes to allow for other customers to utilize seating" (I'm paraphrasing). I also appreciated that as well. They didn't ask me to for my vaccination card even though there were signs saying customers dining in would be asked. Finally, I didn't stay for long because the WiFi was not working. On your receipt you're given the WiFi name and password. I sat down and signed in, but I kept getting kicked off. I ended up going to a Starbucks nearby for their WiFi to do some work. But all in all I had a nice experience here.

I got the pistachio ice cream (abt $7). It was like half chocolate ice cream & half pistachio with crushed pistachio on top. I also got the passionfruit cake which was very frozen.

Nice place, but they don't offer free refills on drip coffee and iced tea. $3.19 for a glass full of ice, I finished it in a couple of minutes. Went back to get a refill (before I purchased it they told me they provide refills). They started to charge me and when I complained they claimed that they thought I was asking about refills on the ice. Who needs ice refills for iced tea? I won't be back!

I'm not a coffee drinker so I wanted some chai latte. It was a very cute shop. The prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed with the chai latte. It tasted blander than I'm use to. Usually I can taste the spice from a good chai latte. The foam was nice and it wasn't too sweet but it was too mild for me. I would come back to try some other offerings. Their scones looked good.

Here's the deal: only come here if you need a place to sit down, kill time, & use wifi for a protracted period of time *You MUST order something to sit down.* Here's why I come ONLY as a last-minute option: --when I know I have to kill time for more than 30 min, or need to relax/take a break from the nearby busy Times Square/Ktown life for a longer duration of time w/ free wifi --roomy & spacious inside Why I do not come: --overpriced food & drinks, food/desserts are so-so --watered down drinks --manager/staff sucks, they kick people out or ask you to buy something if you did not make a purchase yet (which I understand)

    Smoothies

The smoothie I got had a plastic bag blended into it. It looks like something the fruit came in.

Caffe Bene has such a unique selection of drinks, food, desserts, & bakery that I was very excited to try! All visually pleasing, I was excited and conflicted with all these great options. The quesadilla was tasty, but the açaí bowl was watery. The latter did not suite my boyfriend's taste buds. The dessert was deliciously sweet, & the macaroon was perfect. I also had an iced coffee here a day or two later that I really enjoyed. Strong and fairly sweet--just the way I like it. I will definitely be coming back to try other desserts here. Not sure why there are some poor reviews here, but I really enjoyed my experience at Caffe Bene.

    Pesto grilled sandwich
    Paul P.

The staff here is super friendly and I get the sense that the management cares. If you just want an easy, nice day, I would stop by here for a treat! They have some interesting food here. I got the pesto grilled cheese and the bacio gelato milkshake. I didn't go for a coffee or their bakery goods, since I'm familiar with them in their other locations, so I'm rounding up my review stars to be fair. The milkshake took awhile to make (think they had new members figuring out the recipe), but it was worth it. I prefer milkshakes on the thicker side, but it was extremely flavorful nevertheless. The pesto grilled cheese is a sandwich made of waffles and I believe white American cheese. A bit salty, but that's because it had a thick, goopy layer of American cheese. The pesto flavor was good. I think the grilled cheese could benefit from either a mixture of cheeses or a different kind. Another trick is they can relocate some of the cheese and put it outside so out becomes crusted to the bread. I had a good time either way, and the atmosphere here is pleasant. What else can I say?

    Blue S.

I typically come here to get some work done, grab a cup of coffee, and just chill. However today I bought a sandwich to bring home. Halfway through I felt my throat getting a bit itchy and tight, then I noticed a smell, which at first I didn't notice because of the dressing. Flipping my sandwich over I find that they had made my sandwich with moldy bread. I am disgusted and mortified by the thought that I may have ingested some before the moment when I actually noticed that something was off. Disappointed and disgusted and feeling sick. Edit: Deciding to inspect my sandwich some more, I flip it open and what do I find? Hair, really??! I wonder what else I'll find...

The mafadine pasta was a good pick adorned with springy components like pea leaves and a compelling Parmesan vibe. Maybe I like vegetables more than I thought? The steelhead carpaccio special was a stunner. Based on my 1.5 bites of monkfish I'd also endorse that. This may be more of a "DVD extra" but when I originally looked up the QB many of the top-ranked items were breakfasts and some were p-zza (reverse SEO). Based only on lower-left menu placement I would say don't go that route and that specials are a good bet. Again this is only based on 1.5 bites but the eggplant parm special had great sauce. I'm undecided on the watermelon granita which wasn't all that watermelony but spicy dessert was different. I was surprised by how much I liked the edamame, since you can get that everywhere, but the Japanese 7-spice add an intriguing citrus kick.

Food: 3.5/5 We made it a point to try a range of brunch options. My grandfather ordered the sweet potato and chorizo hash, I went with the two-egg combo with pork sausage (eggs over easy), and my husband chose the Moroccan eggs. Overall, the food was good and flavorful, especially if you enjoy dishes with a bit more nuance and influence from Spanish or Mexican flavors. That said, as someone who leans more toward classic American diner-style brunch, it didn't fully hit that nostalgic spot for me. It's not that anything was bad--it just wasn't the most memorable brunch I've had. Still, it was nice to explore a different side of their menu beyond the burgers, fries, and pasta we'd tried before. Service: 4/5 The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. However, they do rely on a QR code-style menu, which can be a bit of a learning curve--especially for those who prefer a more traditional ordering experience. During the brunch rush, things definitely got busy and a bit overwhelmed, so service slowed down slightly. One tip: if you already know what you want, it's best to order everything upfront to avoid delays. Vibe: 3.5/5 Like many New York spots, space is tight. Even as a party of four, we were seated at a small square table, which could be challenging if you have strollers or extra belongings. That said, the space still feels cozy and neighborhood-friendly--great for a casual brunch, just not the most spacious. All in all, It's a solid neighborhood brunch spot with interesting, flavor-forward dishes and kind service. I wouldn't call it my top brunch destination, but I'd come back if I were in the area--especially if I was craving something a little different from the usual diner fare.
