I placed an online order via https://order.redribbonbakeshop.com/menu/rr-sacramento on the 15th for pickup on the 18th to be ready by 6:30PM. I went with the Family Deal #2 ($28.00) which comes with 1 Family-sized Palabok noodle tray and 1 Classic Bar Cake (I chose Mocha flavor). On the day of (Thursday evening), there were 2 workers behind the counter and I was second in line. All I wanted was to pick up my online order, but both workers were writing dedications on cakes on-the-spot (Father's Day, Graduation, Birthday) so it took a while for one to free up to deal with the register. That was a bit annoying to have to wait, when I didn't need any customization on my cake. Grab-and-go was the idea! Palabok Family Platter = Red Ribbon's signature noodle dish topped with special sauce (shrimp gravy), sauteed pork, fried garlic, green onions, boiled eggs and chicharon (ground pork crackling), lemon juice on the side. Serves 2 to 3. *"Party Platter" serves 5-8 people. The other family meal bundles are: Family Deal 1: Palabok Family Platter and 3 chicken empanadas ($25) Family Deal 3: Palabok Family Platter + 3 chicken empanadas + any bar cake ($40) Family Deal 4: Palabok Family Platter + Mango Supreme round cake ($45) Bar Cake flavors: Triple Chocolate: Moist choco chiffon, chocolate icing and chocolate chips Classic Mocha: Creamy mocha icing and filling in a yummy mocha moist chiffon cake. The mocha was rich buttercream but the cake itself is light and not too sweet! Bar Cake serves 2-4, Square Cake serves 6-8, Dedication Cake serves 10-12. Single slices range from $4-$6. Not sure how many the round cakes serve, but they are three layers tall. Their other cake flavors are mango or ube coconut. They had a promo for $5 off when you pre-ordered your Father's Day cake (round cakes only except sans rival, classic mocha, classic chocolate, mango, ube coconut square), dedication topper not included. Their other limited time promotion is a graduation cake (dedication, square, or round). I also saw a "Spend $40, get $10 off" deal as well with a code. Tried their mango supreme cake at a part and I really liked it so I ordered a cake for my friend's 40th birthday since she likes mango. The birthday girl loved it and it was a huge hit - the cake was moist, light not overly sweet. Ordering the cake online was very easy and I also ordered a slice of ube cake and chicken empanadas for me to try. The ube slice was rich, decadent, and had such a beautiful purple color. The cake was soft, has a next texture although slightly too sweet for me so the mango is still my favorite. I really like the crust for the empanada. No phone call to me ahead of my time for pick up and no offer to refund the ube cake order- but surely accepted my request for a second Mango Supreme without refunding the difference of the two cakes- the employee asked if I wanted another product to "make up for the price difference of the two cakes" I graciously said no, but I really wanted what I ordered. Coming from the north side of the county to the south side for the two cakes to find that my order was incomplete was very disheartening. To say I would be back is a long shot. The mocha cake is delicious. All the cakes are good. I've always been pretty happy with all desserts that I've eaten from here. I love the mammon and empanadas too. The ensaymadas have reduced in quality from previous years. I don't like the cheese that they currently use. Also, it's no longer sweet--they've gotten stingy on the sugar I guess. As far as service, it sometimes seems like they're either short-handed or uninterested when customers show up at the counter. Service is friendly, but mediocre. Definitely the best place to be to grab your fresh bakery! I dont know how much better can that be... They baked their goods with pride and sell them at an affordable cost.. I've copied the same review for both Valerio's and Red Ribbon for 2 rounds of Delicious Battles. There's already enough reviews focusing on other aspects of both the Bakeries, so why not a different take? The Battle of the Ensaymeda and Empanada. Round 1 are Ensaymedas. On the Left Corner is Valerio's with Sugar on top. On the Right corner is Red Ribbon with Cheese on top. Both do not have the exact configurations available, so this was the closest match at this time. Red Ribbon tasted cheesy and cake like. The bread was fluffier. Valerio's was sweeter and more like a pastry. The winner... is a draw. I liked the fluffiness of Red Ribbon but liked the topping of Valerio's. So it's really a matter of preference. Round 2 we have the Battle of the Empanada. Again, on the Left we have Valerio's and on the Right we have Red Ribbon. Valerio's was moist in the inside and crisp on the outside. The chicken tasted sweeter and BBQ like with some carrots. The chicken could work well with a slider. Red Ribbon was flakier and lighter. The chicken tasted garlicky yet hardy with a mix of potato. The winner? Again a draw. It's down to preference. If this was a beauty contest, Valerio's would win for Empanadas and Red Ribbon would win for Ensaymeda. Either way, i was thoroughly Content. I go to Red Ribbon mainly for cakes. My work place has made the Mango Supreme cake our official potluck cake lol. Their cakes are good, never dry. I've gotten the mango supreme, ube and the rocky road cake. They have all been delicious. They come in various sizes too. I do like that they offer free candles if you mention that you're buying a cake for a birthday. I think their prices are fair too. I have to knock off one star for just one incident. One time I ordered a Mango Supreme cake. The one time I don't check the cake before I leave the store, I didn't catch that they actually gave me the Ube cake. My receipt said Mango Supreme, but the worker must have grabbed the wrong cake. I'm not tripping because I love all their cakes, but they shouldn't make that mistake. read more

Both service and cleanliness were not the best. That would not deter me from returning, if I was in the area craving these goodies again.
