This is our go to whenever we are craving for Pancit Palabok and it is so good compare to other store selling Pancit Palabok. I went with the Family Deal #2 ($28.00) which comes with 1 Family-sized Palabok noodle tray and 1 Classic Bar Cake (I chose Mocha flavor). On the day of (Thursday evening), there were 2 workers behind the counter and I was second in line. All I wanted was to pick up my online order, but both workers were writing dedications on cakes on-the-spot (Father's Day, Graduation, Birthday) so it took a while for one to free up to deal with the register. That was a bit annoying to have to wait, when I didn't need any customization on my cake. Grab-and-go was the idea! Palabok Family Platter = Red Ribbon's signature noodle dish topped with special sauce (shrimp gravy), sauteed pork, fried garlic, green onions, boiled eggs and chicharon (ground pork crackling), lemon juice on the side. Tried their mango supreme cake at a part and I really liked it so I ordered a cake for my friend's 40th birthday since she likes mango. The birthday girl loved it and it was a huge hit - the cake was moist, light not overly sweet. Ordering the cake online was very easy and I also ordered a slice of ube cake and chicken empanadas for me to try. The ube slice was rich, decadent, and had such a beautiful purple color. Ordered a Mango Supreme cake and Ube Overload Cake for pick up a week prior to 18 Jan for a birthday surprise. The Ube cake was the primary gift and surprise. Unfortunately upon pick up I was told that the Ube cake was not made due to an oversight - aka, inventory of the required Ube cakes to be made for the orders was not double checked. No phone call to me ahead of my time for pick up and no offer to refund the ube cake order- but surely accepted my request for a second Mango Supreme without refunding the difference of the two cakes- the employee asked if I wanted another product to "make up for the price difference of the two cakes" I graciously said no, but I really wanted what I ordered. Coming from the north side of the county to the south side for the two cakes to find that my order was incomplete was very disheartening. To say I would be back is a long shot. I've copied the same review for both Valerio's and Red Ribbon for 2 rounds of Delicious Battles. There's already enough reviews focusing on other aspects of both the Bakeries, so why not a different take? The Battle of the Ensaymeda and Empanada. Round 1 are Ensaymedas. On the Left Corner is Valerio's with Sugar on top. On the Right corner is Red Ribbon with Cheese on top. Both do not have the exact configurations available, so this was the closest match at this time. Red Ribbon tasted cheesy and cake like. The bread was fluffier. Valerio's was sweeter and more like a pastry. The winner... is a draw. I liked the fluffiness of Red Ribbon but liked the topping of Valerio's. So it's really a matter of preference. Round 2 we have the Battle of the Empanada. Again, on the Left we have Valerio's and on the Right we have Red Ribbon. Valerio's was moist in the inside and crisp on the outside. The chicken tasted sweeter and BBQ like with some carrots. The chicken could work well with a slider. Red Ribbon was flakier and lighter. The chicken tasted garlicky yet hardy with a mix of potato. The winner? Again a draw. It's down to preference. If this was a beauty contest, Valerio's would win for Empanadas and Red Ribbon would win for Ensaymeda. Either way, i was thoroughly Content.
