I ordered to-go from this place twice and both times were subpar. Both times I ordered a Caesar salad. First time trying to order on line was useless and when I spoke with someone, the person wasn't familiar with the menu and didn't seem trained. Second time my order was messed up. I asked for extra salad dressing on the side and it was on the salad. I couldn't eat it. I also said I don't need utensils or napkins but they were in the bag anyway. WARNING! Today our experience with the Red Robin Bonus Bucks gift cards during your end-of-year promotion was not good. My family and I purchased several of the Red Robin gift cards during the Holiday season in order to take advantage of the $25 Bonus Buck Rewards that came along with it. However, we were surprised to find that when we didn't use the full balance on one of the bonus Buck cards in a single transaction that the remaining balance was forfeited, a policy that was not made clear to us at the time of purchase or in any communication we received regarding the promotion. We were unaware that partial use of the card would result in losing the unused portion (which was about $20), and feel that this is deceptive. As customers, we trusted that the value on the card would be available to us for future use, and this experience has left us frustrated. Second, we encountered another issue at the restaurant when we tried to take advantage of a free appetizer promotion with the purchase of a burger, entrée, or salad. We were informed that the promotion wouldn't be honored because we had not ordered the correct type of burger. Thankfully, the manager kindly resolved the issue by removing the appetizer charge from our bill after further discussion, but this added an unnecessary complication to our dining experience. While the staff was pleasant and the service was good, I did not consider the food up to their standards. The French Onion soup was not as good as I've previously had, the fries arrived at room temperature, and the Avocado Bacon Burger had just a smattering of avocado (which was irritating considering I requested and paid extra for extra avocado!). Yes, I know avocado prices are up, but I recently paid less for an entire avocado then for the minuscule "extra avocado" portion I received here. The last three or four times we went there they were short staffed and I understand that, but they close off three quarters of the restaraunt and seat people so close together. This may be the ultimate kid-friendly restaurant, with crayons, a pad to mess with and little bites of chicken and whatnot that they can pick at. Also, they make sure that there's a vegetarian option or two, which is nice. But the other day, they really out-did themselves. My concern is always the price for the serving size. RR also has a full bar; however, their beer selection is a bit weak. Went for lunch on a Sunday after church. Not too much of a wait and the man up front was accurate in telling us the wait time. When we were seated our waitress came quickly to take our drink orders. Appetizers came within a reasonable amount of time as did the food. Food all came out hot and delicious. I came to Red Robin for the first time after the many years of driving past it. The store looked pleasant and clean. It's got a sports bar feel to it. We were seated right away. It took a while for our waitress to come because she was also training a new waiter. The menu is huge. I think it can use some consolidating. Some of the burgers seemed very similar. I rather have a few good items then a ton of mediocre options. I ordered the Southern Charm Burger with the garlic fries and a 22oz spotted cow. My wife got the Red Robin Gourmet Cheeseburger with regular fries and a raspberry limeade. The drinks came out quickly but our waitress spilt some of the drinks on to our table as she was giving them to us. She apologized and used the napkins that were for us to wipe the spill. She never brought us more napkins even though she said she would. The drinks tasted like how you would expect. I believe the glass for the spotted cow was chilled which is always a plus. The burgers didn't take too long to come out afterwards. I order my burger with a little bit of pink. I can't remember if they cooked it right or not but the burger tasted good. I highly recommend you just ask them to bring another round of fries right away when you get your food. The number of fries you get is lacking. My burger although flavorful was also lacking in portion for the price of it. My burger was supposedly a 1/2 lb. burger but I'm sure it was the same size as my wife's cheeseburger; which is supposed to be a smaller burger. The waitress and waiter did check up on us periodically. We were asked if we wanted more fries and gladly accepted the refill. Final verdict is that the prices are inflated for pretty much everything on the menu. Serving sizes needs to be increased. The serving size of the food was perfect. Most of the time, I have leftovers after going out to eat, but I ate absolutely everything on my plate. I left feeling satisfied and not at all stuffed with food. My boyfriend got a bottomless root beer float, which we both shared. I chose the fruit salad as my side and the waiter let me know that they had not updated the menu yet, but that the I had to pay extra for it. The vegetarian options were pretty decent and what I would expect of a place like Red Robin. I opted for the veggie burger, which was your standard BOCA burger that anyone could buy frozen from the grocery store. The whole burger (with bun and fillings) tasted overall just fine, though. She was attentive to our needs and ensured our non-alcoholic drinks were never empty. She was very friendly and outgoing, ensuring we were pleased with our visit. The portions of the entrees are small. The burgers I've gotten were just ok. The salads have a funny taste, maybe low quality ingredients. The salad I had tonight was terrible, chicken was seasoned poorly, the avocado had a funny taste, the cheese was bitter and gross. The kids food all looks prepackaged and frozen. Nothing is a good price here. If the quality of the food and flavor was better along with portion size, I'd love the place based off the menu. Service is hit and miss. At times it's quick but then you might wait a while. I feel it's adequate and average in that department. The thing that makes it so interesting is the fried egg on top... don't tell RedRobin but I sometimes put a fried egg on my burger at home now! The other nice thing is the bottomless steak fries and beverages. If you are looking for a health alternative; don't fret. You can always order a chicken sandwich, Bocca Burger, or any other combination of protein on lettuce or in a wrap (watch the calories on wraps... from what I can tell RR's wraps are slightly less than a bun; so there is a little savings there). Less than impressed. The dining room had tons of dirty tables when we walked in and they stayed dirty our entire visit. We even went so far as to mention it to our server and she just said "I had to pee". She then walked over, set the bus tub down and stomped away. When she finally went to put things in the bus tub she threw stuff in so loud that it even scared another server and she said something. No manager to be found. It's not only the servers responsibility, if she is so busy then where is the manager?? The restaurant was nearly empty as we arrived after the lunch rush. We were stopped as hostess found out 2 servers only left. We got Scott or Steve, older balding guy with pony tail and glasses. We ordered drinks and pretzels. My strawberry shake was a liquid and my daughter's sierra mist had something floating in it. We ordered. We were able to get a fresh drink ordered for her as he passed us to wait on the only other people there who had to be put right next to us. I hate that!! So, no apologies, nothing. We waited and waited, no one around. About 40 minutes later he brings this thing to us. I said, what is this? He says it is fried pickles....gross! He got order wrong, but says feel free to eat them...pass. About 20 minutes later we get our food. Our burgers were ordered well but came back as dry, charred shriveled up meat on a bun that the bottom is saturated with...idk what since my burger was juiceless. I took bottom off and ate rest. The fries were cold and broken and by the looks of them had been sitting for a while or were from another table. Our waiter never asked if we needed anything. When he came to give us bill, 70 minutes after arrival...said he mentioned pretzels to 2 managers and still not there. Did i want them?
