For my experience with red rock I will have to give it a solid 4! I ordered over 50 boxed sandwiches for the team I work for and they were well packaged/wrapped/boxed and the service was excellent. The sandwiches were delivered on time and, when I wasn't able to get back in time from practice, they were kind enough to not only deliver, but put them in our team room at our hotel. We did ask for double meat on our sandwiches, which they executed. The bread was delicious and seemed homemade. The box came with a bag of chips and cookie. The cookie was average, a step up from a subway type cookie, so if that's your vibe then you'll really like it! Overall, would definitely recommend if in the area!! read more

I don't know what some of these reviews are complaining about. Red Rock has become my new favorite deli in stillwater!! The ONLY thing on their menu that I would rather get at McAlisters, is the veggie sandwich, but the veggie sandwich at McAlisters is just unbeatable. Red Rock's pesto mac and cheese is literally....OUT OF THIS WORLD....SO FRICKEN GOOD!! Their grilled cheeses are also bomb. The one iffy thing about red rock is that they're not always super consistent with their sandwiches....but honestly, thats a problem with any deli you go to in stillwater (even panara, even mcalisters). People are complaining in their reviews for no reason, red rock it THE BEST!! read more

Wow. Not being from around here, I was not looking for the franchises but was also looking for quality food- not a diner or greasy spoon. This is PERFECT. The food was fresh and the staff were friendly. The two young men behind the counter cheerfully greeted me when I approached and the friendly service was appreciated to a newbie. Advice- if you aren't sure, stand back from the line a minute. Get your life, I mean order, together. They can make any sandwich pretty much to order and the menu was full of plenty of diverse options. It is exactly what it says it is a deli. You have different choices of meats and cheeses on different choices of breads so the possibilities are in list and really they can cater to everybody's likes. I was not ready and even though the server (Esten) never rushed me and was very helpful, the line built up behind me and I was pretty anxious. All of my own doing but everyone was very kind while I sorted it out. Had the turkey pesto and half Fancy salad. Picking between which was my favorite would be like picking your favorite child... when I had a bite of one it was my favorite and I took a bite of the other and then that was my favorite :-). LOADS of fresh fruit and pecans. Huge portion. Dessert? Lemon bar and I don't even like lemon bars, and then you can't go wrong with any of the donuts. The pecan bar was perfect, i just prefer my teeth falling out and it was on the less sugary side, so it was delicious, just not sweet enough for this Georgia peach. Red Rock Bakery has better donuts than Dunkin, Krispy Kream, Shipley's, and Daylight (that one goes without saying)... and I am a lifelong Dunkin fan, so I don't say this lightly. They are simply delicious, and their scones (chocolate chip!) are to die for. At this cozy cafe you can get breakfast and lunch, and their sandwiches are terrific. You can also buy various kinds of bread and other baked goods to take home. Their donuts are available at most of the gas stations in town and on campus in the Student Union, as well as a few other sites on campus. You can get a great breakfast or lunch without busting your wallet. It's a humble little shop full of great food and wonderful customer service. They have salads, sandwiches, soups, and deserts during lunch time. They also sell their homemade bread and desert breads. Just okay since they reopened. Twice I have gotten the grilled bacon and gouda cheese. One time it was wonderful, one time it was dry with barely any cheese. Also both times I have purchased the cinnamon roll, they were dry with not a lot of icing. Was hoping they would open with the sandwich combos but you have to add that on after you buy a sandwich, and when you add it up it's not really that great of a deal. My mother-in-law told me she had a sandwich here a month ago and the bread was literally falling apart and she couldn't finish it. Not sure if we will be back. read more

Disclaimer: this is a bit of a bitch-fest... as you can tell by the length. If that's your thing- read on: Summery: food is decent (when available) service is despicable. Red Rock is a decent place to enjoy food or treats around the lunch hours- mostly. I have never visited for breakfast. I believe the bread to be a good, unique product in that it's very fresh and dense but soft. It's cool that you can buy loaves of bread that are day old at a reduced price to take home! It's so fresh, that you have to eat it up quickly or it will go bad, no preservatives I assume! Doughnuts and sweets are good as well! All of the desserts iv'e ordered from the bakery have been good in both quality and freshness. My experience with the deli food is a bit limited because I've only been a couple of times. The sandwiches I've ordered have been the club and there's a pesto one- turkey maybe? They are fresh and decent but not a lot of flavor. Lots of protein on them but due to density of the bread the sandwich will get soggy if you have to save it for later. I'm giving this review only two stars because there are only whole numbers, no halfsies (I'd actually wish to give it 2.5), but I think this place is overrated and I'm a stickler for service! As I said above the food is decent but not good enough to account for the lack of training for their young employees or just all around mindless/ poor customer service. My first visit to red rock was about 2 pm in the afternoon and not surprised to find the place was pretty dead being after lunch in the area. My husband and I aren't from stillwater but were eager to check out a local place and so went in for coffee and a couple of doughnuts. When we entered we noticed many of the tables had crumbs all over them as if the lunch rush had just ended.. as we approached the counter to view the treats, noticing 2 young girls behind the counter. I spoke to them and we were awkwardly greeted by one as she seemed unsure on how to speak to approaching customers. We told her we'd never been in before and asked a lot of questions about the menu and baked goods. She was nice, answered our questions, and took our meal order. I also bought a loaf of day-old bread the other girl asked if I'd like the bread sliced! Great! We surveyed the baked goods window and ordered a few items and two black coffees. The girls looked at each other then stuttered to each other and to us and said, "oh, we don't have coffee." I asked how do you mean -and why not? She responded, "Well we ran out earlier before lunch time." I'm thinking to myself, 'there's no way that a place that sells breads and doughnuts has run out of coffee; maybe it's that they ran out of will power- do I actually need to suggest to them to make some more for their customers?' After a few awkward seconds some random guy came out of the back and said, "oh! Coffee? Sure, We can make you some." Lol, what the hell? She just lied and said they were out because she couldn't be bothered. "Yes, please do," we said. The remainder of the interactions were awkward as it was clear the people up near the register were far more preoccupied with their own conversation. The second visit was a few months later at about 3:30pm. We went in looking for a few fresh doughnuts and were met with an empty glass case with 6 doughnut holes a few cinnamon rolls sand some sort of sweet bread. We waited patiently at the counter as the young cashier was finishing some business of hers and was looking straight down, then she left the counter and walked past us into the dining room like we were -idk, not there. she came back then stood behind the register again scribbling something next to the register, then looked at us. When I realized she wasn't going to greet us I spoke up and asked how she was doing. She gave a bleak "good." And we proceeded to order. I expressed some question and concern as to where all of their food was, and that we were looking for some doughnuts. She said obtusely, "we don't have any." I asked, noticing there were a few people back in the kitchen- "well, are there any back there?" She just said "no." Well this is unfortunate. (FYI: on the outside of the building there are signs advertising BREADS, DOUGHNUTS, ETC...) she finally made a suggestion: which encouraged us settling for a sweet bread. Complacency is aggravating for paying customers- obviously! It seems Red Rock Bakery has gotten too used to regular business from locals and has lost touch with what customer service is in the meantime. It seems they expect customers to accept in being served on their schedule as opposed to putting customers needs first. I guess it's enough for this business to thrive in this small town but to travelers through- It's a shame. No longer live in the town and grateful for more options. I wish they would step it up when it comes to managing/ training their employees. read more
