Union Merchant right off the Square is my favorite spot for a Friday afternoon with girlfriends, especially during the summertime. It is the perfect place to share a delicious charcuterie board or butter board and pair it with a cold glass of wine or another refreshing drink. The ambience inside is beautiful and inviting, and I almost always end up finding something extra to buy in the attached shop. It makes the whole experience feel even more fun and curated. The staff is consistently kind, and the food is always right on point. It is such a great place to grab a snack and a drink while catching up with friends. The backyard space is lovely as well, but during the Texas summer heat, sitting inside in the air conditioning is definitely the move. Highly recommend for a relaxed, elevated afternoon near the Square. read more

What a fun place to visit in Georgetown, TX! It's located right off the main square and is a perfect place for wine lovers. They also have small bites too. It's part store and part wine bar. They have indoor seating but also have a lovely outdoor space. A portion of the shop is also devoted to other miscellaneous goods, especially fun if you like to browse while sipping wine. The staff was kind and helpful, especially knowledgeable with our wine questions. We opted to try wine flights - one red and one white. The vino bianco was our favorite! Service 5 stars Finally checked out this cool spot after hearing about from some locals Gtown people and it was so wonderful to find during the holiday season... we picked up some fun stocking stuffers and came 2 days in a row! Beautiful historic building with a great outside area during too... we enjoyed 2 different flights and grabbed some Supreme brie cheese to go!! We met a new friend and had a great time both evenings! I've only been here once, so take that into consideration when reading this. On the afternoon I went (during the holidays), the service was lacking. It took a long time and a few asks to get water or even a person to order wine from. The interior of the place is really charming with a boutique feel and some clothing/home decor/gifts available to shop from. None of it was really my style, but I won't hold that against them. The wine and sparkling wines were good and there is a fairly good selection, which I'm told changes. I didn't get to try any of the snacks since we headed to Golden Rule for dinner. Every time we come here, we always get an extremely chill vibe. We absolutely love relaxing, and their back patio that is covered with trees and comfortable seating. If you are not into wine, they also have a great selection of beer, cheeses, and meats If it is too hot or cold outside the indoor area is beautiful and is an eclectic mix of restaurant and retail store with some farm chic interior decorations, and a wine collection that is quite impressive, I recently grabbed a small appetizer here and I must say I was blown away. My friends and I scheduled a night out with our knitting group. I love the decor (it's like a gift shop), and the bread board was fun and tasty. They had a good selection of meats and cheeses, which I really enjoyed. I think this is an excellent place to hang out with friends if you like wine and charcuterie. My only complaint is that their chairs get kind of uncomfortable after about half an hour. Don't wear shorts! read more

I have been here a few times and the service is usually fine. I recently went here with friends an hour before close. The owner told us they were closing soon and made us pour our drinks into plastic cups. Not even 5 minutes after close, the owner clapped at the group next to us and said "I don't want to be here all night" and then came over to tell us to leave. As someone who has been in several service industries, I was baffled by the lack of hospitality. He was rude from the moment he spoke to us and ruined a beautiful afternoon we were having. If you want to grab a wine in Georgetown, I suggest anywhere else. read more

Communicated w the establishment prior to arrival about hosting a friends birthday party there this evening with multiple families in attendance. Upon arrival, with the kids under adult supervision, the staff rudely informed our party that the kids being there wasn't "the vibe" that they were going for. We firsthand understand well behave and poorly behaved children, as responsible adults and well aware parents. If you didn't want families with children there, be upfront about it before the whole party arrives and we would have planned to host the event at an entirely different location. Needless to say, the families who were there and treated with disrespect by the staff will surly not be returning or recommending this establishment to friends/family. Very unfortunate, bc as locals we picked this location, because we had prior positive experiences there before. read more

My first visit was a business meeting on a weekday early evening. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our waitress was excellent. I wanted this place to be my new go to! Friday early evening I met a friend there hoping to share a great spot. Walked into the garden area where 4 tables were over run by children and enough games to keep them entertained for hours. So we went inside where it was quieter found a great table in the middle. After being seated for 20min we went to the bar where we were reluctantly greeted by the owner. After being told a waitress would come by the table I returned to my seat. We sat another 10min watched the wait staff AND the owner walk right by us before walking out to be promptly waited on by a near by wine bar. I was amazed at the lack of concern to just do the basic service of pouring a glass of wine! read more

We attempted coming here for my birthday to get together with friends, and it turned out to be one of the most embarrassing evenings of my life. We have been residents of Georgetown for a while and have come to this place a couple of times with our children and thought it was an amazing and very laid back spot to relax and have a glass of wine; so my sweet husband thought it would be fun to ask my friends with their families (as we've seen families with kids there before) to meet us up there for a glass of wine, charcuterie boards, and snacks. We honestly didn't think it was going to be a big deal getting together here as Downtown Georgetown is a super family friendly atmosphere and we're in Downtown Georgetown almost every weekend. We did not ask for any special services and knew tables were going to be on a first come first serve basis, and everyone was just going buy to buy their own drinks and snacks. Here was when it went so wrong...a lady (I'm guessing she was a part of the Union Merchant team) approached my friend who did not even have kids there, and scolded her in a very ugly, rude, and embarrassing way, then scolded at me saying something along the lines of "can you do something about these kids and get them under control this is not the VIBE we are going for" and walked away! I was in shock, that has never happened to me before. I think it would've been fine and we would've understood if the approach was nicer, but she was super ugly to us! All you had to do was let us know nicely that this environment wasn't for children. We've been to many outdoor wine places that are kid friendly, so how would we have known. We were ready to give y'all a lot of business. And I'm pretty sure it was the owner who then came up and talked to my husband and I... and honestly, what he said to us was fine, but I wished he had done it in a more private manner as I felt super embarrassed in front of everyone. No one deserves to feel belittled. I'm just really disappointed in how it was handled professionally, but out of respect for their business, we left and felt the best VIBES at Sweet Lemon Kitchen and Kork. Go there guys!! read more
