My family and I had an awful experience at the Red Roof Inn this past Sunday. After checking in and receiving our room key, we opened the door to find a room that was clearly not cleaned properly. The beds looked like someone had simply pulled the sheets and blankets back over without actually making or changing them. There was dirt in the beds and all over the floor. The mirror still had visible splatter and smudges on it, making it obvious it had not been cleaned either. We immediately notified the front desk attendant, and while he did provide us another room, the second room was in the exact same terrible condition. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable staying there. We requested a refund due to the unacceptable cleanliness and conditions, but the hotel attendant refused to refund us the money. Instead of staying the night, my family and I ended up driving the three hours back to Dallas that same evening because we simply could not trust the cleanliness of the hotel. I strongly recommend avoiding this location. Spend a little extra money and stay somewhere else. Cleanliness at this hotel is terrible, and the customer service at the front desk was just as bad. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I had my reservation months in advance for an ADA room with king bed. When I arrived at 2:15PM as asked to get into my room 45 minutes early, I was greeted with an abrupt "it will cost $40 to check-in early." The Bluetooth-wearing front desk clerk, Hasan, then told me my reserved room is not available, but he could put me in a different room "but would have to charge me the difference." It turns out the "difference" was 2X the price of the room I reserved. When I explained 'I have a reservation and your room inventory is not my responsibility' Hasan told me I was "not being cooperative," which I suppose means 'not agreeing to his bait-and-switch and price-gouging.' Fortunately, I still had a 1+ hour cancelation window, which I left through. I found other lodgings 5 minutes down the road who were as happy and welcoming as Hasan was angry, rude, and irrational. No stars. The first room wasn't clean. There was toothpaste on the mirror and faucet. The toilet doesn't flush well and it smelled like smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. I nicely asked for another room and the desk clerk kindly obliged, but it wasn't clean either. I kept it anyway because we were so ready to settle in for the night. I wiped stuff down with my own wet wipes though. We camp in a tent and decided it was better than that. The a/c is cold. The shower has hot water. The room doesn't smell like smoke and the bed was firmer and newer than the other one. We will not stay again. If it wasn't a non-refundable room we would've gone to another hotel. We don't have money to throw away though. Don't waste your money on this place. read more

We absolutely would not recommend staying here, in fact, we recommend DO NOT STAY HERE. The room was so bad that it's hard to even know where to begin. We would have left and gone somewhere else, but were very tired and had doubts of finding other lodging on a Saturday night The floor had obviously had not been swept, this was apparent by the fact there were sunflower seed hulls, dirt and a coin on the floor. The nightstand and table had sticky rings where someone had left drink cups which indicated they were not cleaned prior to our arrival The mirror and faucet had toothpaste spatter on them, the shower curtain was mildewed, the bathroom door was held together with duct tape and the toilet seat was round, yet installed on an oblong toilet. The toilet tank cover also did not fit the toilet tank. We also found roaches in the bathroom during the night. The toilet bowl was also badly stained. The bed linens, comforters and towels were all badly stained and one of the lamps did not even have a light bulb in place. There was no breakfast served, apparently due to sanitary concerns, which is somewhat laughable considering the condition of the room. There is no way we would have tried it anyway. read more

This 1 star rating is definitely too much! I would do a -5 if I could. The room was dirty, not swept, bathroom had dirt on walls and floor. The shower curtain was so moldy we were afraid to take a shower. One of the queen beds had a mattress pad that had dark stains all over it! It smelled very bad. Worst room ever! read more

Floor had dirt stains and had clearly not been mopped in probably months! Hair in the shower and on the towels. Stains on the mattress. Absolutely disgusting. Most disgusting hotel I have ever walked into. The guy wasn't even in the office to check me in and when he finally came in, he was in a filthy stained T-shirt like he had been working in maintenance. He couldn't even scan my credit card and just handed me a key and then when I got to the room it was so filthy. There were bodily fluid stains all over the bed. The smell was so intense I couldn't even walk in the room without almost throwing up. The lamp didn't even work when I try to walk in. I have been fighting with them for two weeks to get my money back and they refused to give me my money back because they said I could've tried a different room. Why would I want to try a different room when this is the standard they have in the room they put me in. Even the pool was drained and it was filthy and disgusting and empty. Do not ever stay here do not ever give them your money. You will regret it it even feels like a Murder hotel. It is in such a bad area stay away. read more

One star is too many for this dump. We checked in and immediately asked for a different room after seeing hair and stains on the beds. The second room also had dirty beds and a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom. The third room we were huffily moved to seemed clean at first but then we realized there was no cold water (only hot) and the pipes under the sink were leaking all over the floor. My daughter, myself and our guest, here for a wedding, checked into hotel and we literally just finished cleaning our rooms. We received rooms 124, 103, and 107 at the Red Roof Inn in Willis Texas and when we walked in, the rooms were horrible. The bath tube was dirty, the toilet seat had pee on it, there were beard hairs in the sink, the microwave was dirty, the fridge was dirty, the mirror had not been cleaned and the bed linen was dirty and had hair on it. After complaining to the front desk, we were given new linen that had a roach in the folded sheets. I have never had any problems with other Red Roof Inns and I have been to a few. My daughter and I discussed getting another hotel but there is not time to even look or check in. Our guest in 107 went to the store and bought cleaning supplies and her own bed linen. Worst hotel experience of my life. Worst staff ever, rude as fuck. Ignorant as fuck. Dirty as fuck. When we first got to the room #114 we noticed dust everywhere and flies inside. We did not lay down immediately. We ate and I took a quick shower. The water was not draining, my boyfriend had to take a bunch of shit out of the drain that had not been cleaned out. Then, when we laid down on the bed, we noticed the cover smelled like straight up piss. We shined the light on it and there were several piss stains. We went to the office to complain and the manager kept talking over me; denying that her staff would ever leave the room in such condition. We then told her several times to come look at the room, and she refused. I showed her a video of the stain, and I had to yell at her so she could understand that we were not gonna sleep in a bed that had covers with piss on them. She then gave us room #110, we inspected it and the cover had stains on it as well. These were like food or something that maybe didn't come out with the wash, but I still told the lady I wanted new sheets and cover. I noticed they only changed the sheets and left the dirty ass cover on the bed. Fucking imagine. There is a pandemic out here. Imagine not changing the covers after every stay. My sister in law and I stayed here in room 220. The bathrooms were so gross, the room was so hot, it didn't matter how much we jacked with the ac. The coffee was DISGUSTING. I wore my shoes the whole time we were in the room because i didn't want to step on the ground. They definitely need to do some more updating and hire better cleaning staff. Also, the wasps and bees were RIDICULOUS my suggestion, pull out the bushes with the white flowers and add some green hedges. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I only paid $77 a night and I still feel like that was way too much, maybe $50 a night. read more

I was double charged because she insisted she didn't see our reservation through hotels.com even though I had a reservation number, she charged my credit card then argued with me about being double charged I'm still fighting to get my money back. This happens to be the only hotel in the city of Willis. I was taking my son for a fishing trip on the Willis side of lake Conroe, meeting up with my Brother in Law. Upon checking in, the first thing they told me was that they did not have the double room I had reserved, and were unclear in explaining the other option, so wasted 5 minutes clarifying that. After squaring away that, I agreed to switch from a double to a single king. Our 6 year old could sleep with us, it's one night, right? Get the key card, grab the bags, and go upstairs to room 206. Happen to see Jason Vorhees, Leatherface, Michael Myers (insert terrifying character from 80's horror flick of your choice) smoking a cigarette at the top of the stairs. Start trying the key card, and nothing. No light, green or red, just a dead doorknob. I then see the burly arm of said horror movie antagonist reaching in front of me, using a key to unlock the door knob below the card transponder. Mind you, he is supposedly maintenance, but has nothing to identify him as an employee. He did not identify himself as an employee, just mentioned something about a problem with the key card system. Finally in the room that I will come to find out I do not have access to, and wouldn't anyway, is's an absolute nightmare. Bloodstains on the sheets. Comforter worn nearly as thin as the sheets. Putrid warm air greeted us upon entry. My son commented "um daddy, this room is not nice like we normally stay in". I went downstairs, and asked to have the key re-programmed, and the front desk clerk informed me that the problem was the lock itself, and that I would have to rely on them to gain access to the room. So at this point, my wife told me she was uncomfortable leaving anything in the room, and even more uncomfortable with Jason Vorhees having access while we slept. The whole experience had a "Bates Motel" vibe. I politely asked to have the charges refunded, and wanted to cancel the reservation, since we had not even been there for 15 minutes. A week later, I called back and spoke to the owner, who proceeded to blame the Front Desk Clerk for the refund not being issued, but said he would see about it, since the locks were now fixed. He was dismissive of my request at best. I have now called corporate, and they say they are going to issue the refund and check in with the owner operator of the hotel to see if they are maintaining the Red Roof standards. We'll see, although I am anticipating having to dispute the charge with my credit card company. NEVER stay here. read more

OMG!!!!! No were in my booking did I see that only rooms available were smoking rooms. Red Roof Inn in Willis, Tx only advertises smoking rooms. This is what the lady in the office said. She showed me the receipt and said see. She did not offer to help me at all. I told her the room smelled bad and she said I know because it is a smoking room. This was the most roach infested hotel I have ever seen! Red Roof Inn ought to be ashamed to put people in rooms with this type of infestation. I'm serious you should close this place down until you get your roach issues under control. When I entered the room, I sat my food down on the desk, disrobed showered and sat down to eat. A roach crawled up the back of my box of food. i was mortified! I tossed it in the trash and went to sleep. I got up that morning and turned on the lights and baby roaches where all over the floor, the desk and pretty much every counter surface in the room. You can't tell me you didn't know your Inn had such in infestation of dirty diseased packing roaches. This didn't just happen. The is straight up neglect. Worst motel EVER!!!!!!! The NON-SMOKING room smelled of cigar smoke. When the clerk was told, she argued with my husband and blamed us saying we were the ones smoking. Should have punched her in her stupid face. Water was leaking on the floor and the maintenance guy said it was coming from the room next to us, because a motel worker lives there and runs his a/c all day. They already knew it was coming into our room. He threw a dirty towel down where the water was coming in. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! We turned the volume on the TV to 100 and still couldn't hear it. We refused to stay there and when we left there was an empty cigar box next to the bushes. My rating is a negative 10,000!!!! Disgusting! We went to another hotel, La Quinta in Conroe, awesome hotel. Clean & friendly staff! As we were checking in, there was a couple who had been at Red Roof Inn the same time we were and they refused to stay there as well!! read more
