Sub Par Hotel - Stay Somewhere else. Broken Toilet, Dirty fixtures, Rude Management. We had a botched reservation. We were asked to rebook and that a refund would be provided on the messed up reservation. The hotel ended up charging us twice. Upon getting up to the room, the toilet in 222 was not properly seated and toilet water leaked from the seal onto my pants. The staff was generally polite, the manager I spoke with was an absolute rude A hole that just wants to juice you for money. Absolute poor customer service and lack of care if you are a repeat customer. I have stayed at this location at least 4 times in the last two years and I will not be returning based off of getting charged twice for a room that had issues. Prior visits felt reasonable, but this visit the lobby felt dirty, the atmosphere felt dangerous and the walls are paper thin, you can hear people partying in other rooms. There is poor service in terms of available water, ice buckets, breakfast, or anything that a normal Holiday Inn Express has. Stay at your own risk. read more

Location good plenty of amenities across the road supermarket, restaurants, bars , meaning everything you needed was available. 15 minute walk to transport hub at anderson with trains hourly into Boston and a airport shuttle bus every hour. Premises could fo with some upgrades as lot of power points dont work . Housekeeping top knock and ask you everyday do you need it . Friendly polite staff helpful .also it is on a main road as 5 mins down road is slip road to freeway so it's busy so expect lot of traffic and supermarket deliveries/bins get emptied at 5am . This hotel was okay. I was a little surprised at the pricing because it was not as much as it said when I first booked the room. The elevators were also incredibly creaky and one wasn't even working. Even though I was rooming on the 5th floor, I still took the stairs. Our room smelled of weed even though it was a no-smoking room. The place was at least nice and clean though. read more

The room was in terrible condition. It had duct tape on the carpet to hold it down where it met with the flooring, the curtains were coming off the rail, there were nails sticking out of the flooring and the one side of the bed made the most terrible squeaking noise if you moved. There was one person on reception who was helpful but the other just ignored us while chatting in the back. Luke warm coffee and hot water set out in the morning was all that was offered. Also be aware that they charge a nightly rate for using the safe and you have to ask them to removed the charge otherwise it is automatically added to your account. First of all, let me start by saying that you get what you pay for. I had a horrible experience with a Red Roof Inn (that I have on here as well) and haven't even attempted to stay in another in over five years. I needed someplace close to Salem,MA and decided to try it. It was reasonably priced and I felt confident that it would be ok. I've listed the pros and cons below along with pictures. Pros: Price for the night, Clean bed and bedding, Free wifi, in room microwave and drink cooler, Lots of plug outlets in room, Cons: Getting off the elevator on the fourth floor you get hit with the smell of animal urine. It's soooo bad! Bathroom floor wasn't clean, sink vanity wasn't clean, tub wasn't clean, curtains were dirty, windows had face prints on them, walls were scuffed up, room had an odor, no real hygiene items...one packet of shampoo, 2 small slivers of soap, towels were clean but had hair and stains, shower curtain was ripped, shower head had water spitting out everywhere, Hotel Pool is unusable because it is now a swim school (WHAT?), elevators were disgusting and pretty scary as they made weird noises and would shake, Hard bed, The front desk told me they would put a $150 hold on my card for the room and then they actually charge it to my account. It takes 3-5 business days to refund back. Overall, if you just need a clean bed it's a good place. Don't expect anything more though. read more

We had to walk out after booking this hotel. The lobby smelled like cigarettes half the elevators were out of order, the room was way too big with only a measly bed, couch, and small table. The glass on the window looked like it had gone years without being washed, the tv was small and outdated and the hair dryer filter was rusted and had layers of hair on it. Booked this room well in advance from a major booking site. Never heard of this company before. Upon checking in there were drug addicts at the front lobby entrance. The hotel lobby was filthy. One of only 2 elevators were broken and had painters tape in between the two doors.... I guess this was their way of saying it was out of order. Onto the room..... all the carpets leading to the room hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time. Entered the room only to find that there were some disgusting sticky tape all over the window, they provided refrigerator was not cold, the sheets were dirty, and had body hair all over them. I went downstairs and spoke with the manager, and he got very angry and short with me and issued me a second room. That room was worse than the first that room had mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, filthy disgusting sheets, and the room had a musty smell. I called down to the office, and the manager told me that he was the only one working and couldn't do anything about the room and if I didn't like it, then I had to find some other place to stay! It's a nice hotel for the price! Nothing really special about it but also it was very clean and the bed and pillow was comfy. The bathrooms were clean too. If I could give zero stars, I would. There are crumbs all over the floor in the hallway, paint chips where someone had smashed a cart into the wall. After tax a room with 2 full beds ran me $84. For the convenient location (busy part of town with whatever you need close by) and having an indoor pool, I thought this was extremely reasonable. The front desk staff were very kind. Because I was a member of their rewards program, I received free bottles of water for everyone in our party. Small gesture, but I'd never had that happen before so I thought it was a nice extra. The rooms were pretty standard, but also included a microwave and a mini fridge. The whole place is smoke-free and dogs are welcomed. There was a complimentary coffee bar set up at all times, as well as soda, vending, and ice machines. In the morning, a free continental breakfast was included. Coffee, Juice, milk, cereal, muffins, toast, yogurt, fruit and hard boiled eggs were available. Overall, we were happy with our stay, but there were a couple of things that needed some attention. Some of the outlets didn't work, including the one the hairdryer was suppose to use in the bathroom. Also, when I bent over in the bathroom I noticed somebody's socks hanging on the pipes under the sink. They weren't easy to spot, but they had been there for a while! read more

My husband and I booked at this hotel in celebration of our 29th year anniversary. When we got to the hotel, we were charged an additional $150 to the $389 dollars that was paid for a 2 night stay. This additional charge was to cover any damages to the room in which it did not state anywhere on my original booking. When I asked the staff wouldn't the additional charge happen if there were damages actually done, the guy was rude and said those are the rules and have to pay in order to get our room. When we get to the room there were damages everywhere, the floor was sticky and dirty, AC was behind the microwave and refrigerator stand in which blocked the air from flowing around the room making it hot. the chairs were damaged and filthy. You can feel the springs of the bed and pillows were flat as a pancake. We then proceeded to take pictures and video of the entire room then went back downstairs and showed the guy and a lady who I presume was the manager all the damages and filth in that room and told them we will not be responsible for these things that was already there and wanted our $150. The lady stated that they have guests who damage the property and is why the charge is done before hand. I then said I paid to have a decent room not a dirty run down room with damages. We told them that we spoke to our lawyer for advise and made a record of the room, a few minutes later they came to our room to replace only the chairs but the housekeeper never came to clean the sticky floors and dirty bathroom. Our $150 charge was returned the very next day after we showed them the pictures and video. We were very disappointed with how unfriendly the staff were, how neglected the hotel is, and the manner of the way they handle their guests. WORD OF ADVICE TO ANYONE WHO BOOKS AT THIS HOTEL, TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEO OF EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU GO IN AND AFTER YOU LEAVE SO YOU WON'T BE RESPONSIBLE AND BE CHARGED EXTRA MONEY! I want to express my horrible and life threatening experience at the RedROOF plus inn in Woburn. I check in yesterday July 26 around 4/5pm. As I proceeded to go in the building in quickly noticed 2-3 people accessing the building without a mask. I thought to myself that's odd given the serious health crisis The entire WORLD is facing. I continued to check in to find the receptionist quickly checking me in. I was waiting for COVID health screen of some sorts.. but NOTHING When she ask me to sign I looked around for sanitizer but NOTHING. I was exhausted so I plan to take a nap and shower. As I pull the sheets I noticed crusted food yellow in color on one of the blankets. So I proceeded to try to call the front desk to request new bedding I tried for almost a hour to only get a busy signal. I decided to grab a blanket from target as I just wanted to rest. Later in the bathroom I notice the toilet bottom half dirty. So I decided not to take a shower until I had shower sandals. I ended up going to grab some dinner once on the elevator I find dirty ear swabs on the follow. At this point I'm horrified. I tried to find the front desk receptionist but she wasn't there only two men fixing something again wearing NO MASK. After returning from dinner I finally found the receptionist who kinda gave the shrug of shoulder and there wasn't much she could do. I finally slept for about 2hrs and just felt so uncomfortable to left early around 6:30 to find more ppl getting on the elevator with NO MASK. I am baffled how REDWOLFE inn show no importance for The HEALTH AND SAFETY of their patrons. It's absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. We this GLOBAL pandemic you would think the hotel would be on top of the cleanliness and COVID preparedness. Wow. I would like this to get to every executive and owner. I stayed here on Friday night. Man the location is perfect. It is surrounded by shops and places to eat. Very, very easy access to the highway. Both 93N/S and I95N/S. There is ample parking. The rooms are clean and beds are comfy. Staff is nice, I will def keep this location in mind for my next hotel stay. The one issue I had here is the noise. Bedbugs. I moved to another room on another floor after finding one, but I still had to take all the necessary precautions when I went home. Bagging up everything and sealing it before putting it in the car. Washing all of my clothes with high heat and drying on high for an extended time ruining some of my clothes. Had to throw out some things because I couldn't be sure there weren't bedbug eggs in the creases and I wasn't taking ANY risks of bringing them home. The Robber took ten minutes casually unloading my car and then loading his trunk with my Possessions. This was All caught on camera, including his face which he seemed to be wearing a mask, as well as him interacting with a known escort who frequents the hotel Afterward. Seemed like they planned it and were in on it together. Anyway, I received no help or advice or reimbursement of any kind from staff the next day. other than one security guard, who did at least Show me the tapes which I appreciated, no one else seemed to care. First impression one gets of the hotel is the lobby which is very dark and depressing. It felt like the freight entrance. Second impression, I had to pay in full for my two night stay upon check-in. To me, that's not a very good sign. So, now I'm wondering if I've made mistake. I was looking to stay somewhere convenient but inexpensive as it was just me and I'm not particularly fussy. To the hotel's credit, my room was immaculate and recently updated. I was very pleased with this and expected a restful night's sleep. There was a tv, a coffee maker, a fairly large mini-fridge, and a clock radio along with the usual hotel room furnishings of a dresser, desk, desk chair, armchair, nightstand, etc. The towels were plentiful and thick enough for me and soap and shampoo were provided. However, there are powerful floodlights mounted to the exterior wall above my room's (Room 310) window that poured so much light into my room I thought it was daytime. In fact, it was 1 a.m. I only slept in short, miserable spurts after that. At any time during the night one could easily think he had overslept and a blazing mid-morning sun was shining outside. I could not risk another night without sleep so, despite having paid for a second night, I packed up and left the next day. Is it possible that those lights could be turned off past midnight or could heavy blackout curtains THAT REACH THE FLOOR be added to those room under those lights? I cannot be the only one who has brought this to your attention. read more

Nasty dirty, I found blood on the bedding, the bathroom floor, the toilet seat and a flea on the bathroom sink. The Woburn ploice arrested a guy in a room across from me who knows why. They violated ny disability accomodations and they also overcharged me for the room. It was supposed to be 137 ish, I got charged 190. I don't even know where to start. I've stayed at Red Roofs for years and have always had a good experience. This place wasn't awful but it wasn't great either. The front desk was not that friendly! So that already put a sour taste in my mouth. The rooms were okay. We were apparently in an "upgraded" room. Not really sure what made it upgraded but I enjoyed the breakfast box. The room was small. Bed didn't feel like a king bed. We were in an adjoining room. Now what really pissed me off was that I made reservations for two rooms. They told me that myself and the couple we came with were going to be on two different floors. Which I found bizarre since clearly they have adjoining rooms. The bathroom in my friends room was filthy. They were giving us a credit for that. Now they also have complimentary continental breakfast which was absolute crap. They had what looked like defrosted egos. Shitty bread. Knock off cereal. Fake boiled eggs. It was all just gross. The hotel was decent for location and the price. Surprisingly comfy hotel. Very nice upgrades and renovation done to the place. At the time I stayed the pool area was closed for renovation although it seemed like it was used the day before since I saw a lot of bins with used towels. Comfortable and larger rooms, with good A/C (but the older kind). Our room was equipped with refrigerator and microwave, although I did not need them. Hair dryer and flat iron available, Basic amenities. Good quality bedding and towels. WiFi available. Somehow iPads cannot connect well. Basic breakfast available for guests as well as several restaurants outside. When I got in for late check-in, the night cashier was Dawn and she was quite patient and accommodating. The printer was acting up and she let me print boarding passes from the reception desk. good location and access, midway to Logan and Boston. read more

I stayed there for two nights during my visit to Mass, it smelled and looked very clean until i checked the sheets. I found stains all over my bed sheets and pillow covers along with long strands of hair and the bed sheets were wrinkly when we arrived. Some of the guest staying on our floor were running up and down the halls drunk and screaming. Everytime i left the hotel i saw sketchy people coming in and out of the hotel. Ontop of that the beds were really uncomfortable and the springs of the bed were very loud and the pillows were really flat. Beds are smaller than advertised. Complimentary breakfast was just an extra room with yogurt and frozen waffles. Coffee with 3 different kinds of creamer but no sugar free option (all flavored, no plain creamer). Staff is unhelpful. Lobby smells like chlorine. We paid extra for the "Upgraded Room Experience" which amounted to a basket with a couple granola bars, a small bag of peanuts, a bottle of OJ, a bottle of water, and some instant coffee. So I get here only to be told, you can't use pool, the British Swim Club took it over and only THEIR members can use it. I was not happy and said that is why I chose this place over others. This is during covid so obv we are not expecting the same experience we would have had a year ago. We did switch rooms when we first arrived due to a faulty AC but that has no bearing on this review. What does is its friday morning(we are staying in this room till saturday) and a maintenance guy just woke us up to tell us we need to let him into the room "to put up the sign"? And when i replied "this room is currently occupied" because #1 we didn't call maintenance , and #2 there's a pandemic. We don't want to let strangers in the room while we are in it. That guy proceeded to give me the biggest attitude like it was strange I wanted my privacy in my paid for hotel room. Not even an "im sorry, we need this for compliance, may I just do this quick/when could I come back?" Just " let me in to put the sign!" How the hell am i supposed to know he works here. Shouldn't I have gotten a phone call warning me he was coming? So I figure maybe this guy might be a creep. It's not like he identified himself in a professional way, maybe he doesn't belong here. I usually come to visit a friend of mine in the area a few times a year. I usually choose to stay in Woburn because the rooms here are a lot more affordable and it's only 20 minutes drive away from the city! I've stayed at this particular hotel maybe two or three times over the years and have had no issues. ProTip: If you don't wanna drive into Boston, it's only ten minutes from Wellington station on the MBTA Orange Line. Park there for $6/day and buy an unlimited transit pass for $12. The ride into the city is another 15 minutes or so. Plenty of food and shopping nearby if you need something. A Dunkin Donuts as well. The new rooms are nicer than the old ones. I haven't tried the pool yet. A solid choice. read more

I dont hold red roof to a hilton standard because thats unfair, but theres some basic things that any hotel should have and this one lacks. Common areas and hallways were filthy. My room was surprisingly clean, but first impressions of this hotel were not great. Bed was awful. Ive been in a hotel every night for the last two weeks, and this was the lumpiest/springiest worst nights sleep ive had in that 2 weeks. The internet was horribly slow when it actually worked. I have to upload around 500 mb of reports and images each night. It took between 5-8 hours to upload this when it should have taken no more than an hour or so. Even just browsing the internet was painfully slow. Constantly dropping connection. Its a joke and caused me a ton of grief. I purchased my two night stay through priceline express so i didnt freely choose this hotel. Based on this being my second bad experience with a red roof plus - its safe to say ill never freely choose to stay at one again. read more

I am not a hotel snob but this is below my comfort level. I thought it would be like Ramada or Holiday Inn, but not so. The elevator was dirty, clunky, and run down. The room was OK in general, but the bedding barely OK, bathroom and towels barely OK. They have some system where they try to get you to opt out of daily maid service. So I'm a little indifferent about this place. The good: It's probably pretty cheap, though, my company has booked for me so I don't know exactly how cheap is cheap. It's next to the Woburn mall, so there are plenty of places to eat. Right next door is an On the Border, then there's a Bertucci's that is supposedly pretty good. I went to Uno's and it was pretty good. There's a McDonald's near by for breakfast and a Target that is open until 11pm. It's easy to find. The bad: There's only one entrance. I guess this could be good, but there's very few parking spots near the entrance so I think it sucks. The halls smell like smoke. Do they still have smoking rooms? The TV channels vary in volume so you crank it up 'cause one channel is quiet, then you change the channel and get blasted. I hate that. The weird: I get back from work and there's a van with it's lights on, by itself just sitting there. Weird. Then the next night, there's a patrol car driving around. They see me drive up and pull into a spot and they slowly turn around and come back. I assume they were checking my license plate. It was just strange. I suppose if you just need a place to wash up and lay your head, this suffices nicely. It could really use a fridge for my other 5 Heath Klondike bars so I don't have to eat them all in one sitting. *shrug* oh well. NOM NOM NOM. read more

I have not been to a Red Roof inn in a long, long time! This choice made sense and it was a good choice over all! The Red Roof Inn was in the middle of what looked like a remodel. Yet it will still very clean and the rooms were a pretty good size as well. The only draw back is that if you want a fridge or microwave then you need to get a room with a king size bed. Its not a huge deal to us but I thought I'd toss this in the review in case some people need it. As you may know you might bring home a lot of left overs from eating in the city! Check in was pretty simple. They took a copy of my drivers license and had us sign a form with a "no smoking rule" for the rooms. We do not smoke so its not a big deal to us. I'm also happy that they enforce this rule as well. So over all check in was quick and to the point! Check out was just as easy. The staff here is also very friendly. During the limited time that we had to deal with them and it was all positive. When we came back on Saturday night our room keys stop working for some odd reason and they got them working in no time! It happens and its not their fault in any way. But again they where ready and willing to help us with no questions asked. The rooms was big! They even had hard wood floors, carpet near the bed and freshly painted walls. The room smelled clean and the towels where even fresh as well! Room service was also good. They never came in with us in the room but we always came back to a clean room. They also had the following features. A ton of free parking, indoor pool access, Working AC/heat, free WiFi internet and even a coffee maker! We had booked on Hotels.com and got the room for $75 a night. Our 2 night stay came to $166.57 for the grand total. This includes all of the taxes and fees. So it came to be about what it cost to stay in the heart of Boston it self for one night. So we cant complain! So over all the stay was great! Comfy beds, good staff and cheap rates are where its at! Really, really bad... I mean, REALLY bad. We ended up staying for one night when a home improvement project went awry. It's not the very worst hotel I've ever stayed at--but it was definitely in the bottom 10%. When we arrived to check in, the lobby was swarming with school kids on a trip. It's a small lobby, and--while they were nice kids--they were eating pizza and loudly conversing all over the place. It was clear nobody had asked them to rein that in for the benefit of their fellow hotel guests. I was probably overly sensitive to that, though, because I had to wait in their midst for such a ridiculously long time...because there was no one at the front desk. You know what was at the front desk? A stack of unattended card keys (one of which was ultimately handed to me). Small safety issue, perhaps? Standing at the front desk...waiting...waiting...knocking on the door to the back office...no answer...family deserting me because they couldn't wait any longer to eat... Finally, a gentleman in uniform. I start to say, "Excuse me...", and he cuts me off, "I can't help you!". "Excuse me?", I ask, incredulous. "I can't help you", he repeats without a hint of apology. OK, then. "Could you tell me where I might find someone who can help me?", I inquire. Sigh, eye roll, "Let me go find her." After another massive wait, "her" arrives. Without making eye contact she hurries into the back room. "Excuse me?" I call after her. "I have to call my manager!", she shouts back, She finally emerges from the partition--only to make yet another phone call. Sensing my impatience with this practice, she checks me in without so much as looking at me. "Premium" room (which we paid more for): clearly not the Ritz, but fine. Smell of smoke emanating from bathroom vent a little gross--but whatever. Noisy heating/cooling unit I can deal with. Pooling of water on said unit, weird, but avoidable. Checkout the next morning--unbelievably, nearly as bad as the night before. I had to wait a long time and repeatedly call out for assistance (despite the fact that I can clearly see video monitors indicating someone is waiting for help). Really, really bad. For reasons of the unattended--and fully functional--card keys alone, I couldn't BEGIN to recommend this place to anyone. read more

Never stayed there but rented their pool for a pool party. Had no problems in the past, but this year the pool cleaner didn't show and they forgot to notify us. Our out-of-town guests came in for nothing. To make up for it, they refunded our money and gave us a free party. A month later, they double booked our free party. After calling to confirm twice (even the morning of the party), when all my guests arrived AGAIN, another party was going on. Had to send all my guests home AGAIN. So embarrassing. The woman who confirmed our pool reservation kept saying, "This isn't my fault. I didn't know it was double booked! I don't book pool parties! If you thought you had a party, you had a party!" They offered another free pool party. What are we going to do with that? read more
