Nails sticking out of the flooring

The room was in terrible condition. It had duct tape on the carpet to hold it down where it met with the flooring, the curtains were coming off the rail, there were nails sticking out of the flooring and the one side of the bed made the most terrible squeaking noise if you moved. There was one person on reception who was helpful but the other just ignored us while chatting in the back. Luke warm coffee and hot water set out in the morning was all that was offered. Also be aware that they charge a nightly rate for using the safe and you have to ask them to removed the charge otherwise it is automatically added to your account. I would definitely not recommend it.

One sliver of soap for hands

First of all, let me start by saying that you get what you pay for. I had a horrible experience with a Red Roof Inn (that I have on here as well) and haven't even attempted to stay in another in over five years. I needed someplace close to Salem,MA and decided to try it. It was reasonably priced and I felt confident that it would be ok. I've listed the pros and cons below along with pictures. Pros: Price for the night, Clean bed and bedding, Free wifi, in room microwave and drink cooler, Lots of plug outlets in room, Cons: Getting off the elevator on the fourth floor you get hit with the smell of animal urine. It's soooo bad! Bathroom floor wasn't clean, sink vanity wasn't clean, tub wasn't clean, curtains were dirty, windows had face prints on them, walls were scuffed up, room had an odor, no real hygiene items...one packet of shampoo, 2 small slivers of soap, towels were clean but had hair and stains, shower curtain was ripped, shower head had water spitting out everywhere, Hotel Pool is unusable because it is now a swim school (WHAT?), elevators were disgusting and pretty scary as they made weird noises and would shake, Hard bed, The front desk told me they would put a $150 hold on my card for the room and then they actually charge it to my account. It takes 3-5 business days to refund back. Overall, if you just need a clean bed it's a good place. Don't expect anything more though.

No washcloths and only 2 towels?
Krista J.

If I could give zero stars, I would. There are crumbs all over the floor in the hallway, paint chips where someone had smashed a cart into the wall. Elevator doors look like they have been scraping against the sides of the elevator. The bathroom had 2 towels and a hand towel. When I called down to get washcloths I was told there is no one in housekeeping until 8:30 am.....about 15 minutes later a kind lady did show up with extra towels and washcloths but still.....

After tax a room with 2 full beds ran me $84. For the convenient location (busy part of town with whatever you need close by) and having an indoor pool, I thought this was extremely reasonable. The front desk staff were very kind. Because I was a member of their rewards program, I received free bottles of water for everyone in our party. Small gesture, but I'd never had that happen before so I thought it was a nice extra. The rooms were pretty standard, but also included a microwave and a mini fridge. The whole place is smoke-free and dogs are welcomed. There was a complimentary coffee bar set up at all times, as well as soda, vending, and ice machines. In the morning, a free continental breakfast was included. Coffee, Juice, milk, cereal, muffins, toast, yogurt, fruit and hard boiled eggs were available. Overall, we were happy with our stay, but there were a couple of things that needed some attention. Some of the outlets didn't work, including the one the hairdryer was suppose to use in the bathroom. Also, when I bent over in the bathroom I noticed somebody's socks hanging on the pipes under the sink. They weren't easy to spot, but they had been there for a while!

My husband and I booked at this hotel in celebration of our 29th year anniversary. When we got to the hotel, we were charged an additional $150 to the $389 dollars that was paid for a 2 night stay. This additional charge was to cover any damages to the room in which it did not state anywhere on my original booking. When I asked the staff wouldn't the additional charge happen if there were damages actually done, the guy was rude and said those are the rules and have to pay in order to get our room. When we get to the room there were damages everywhere, the floor was sticky and dirty, AC was behind the microwave and refrigerator stand in which blocked the air from flowing around the room making it hot. the chairs were damaged and filthy. You can feel the springs of the bed and pillows were flat as a pancake. We then proceeded to take pictures and video of the entire room then went back downstairs and showed the guy and a lady who I presume was the manager all the damages and filth in that room and told them we will not be responsible for these things that was already there and wanted our $150. The lady stated that they have guests who damage the property and is why the charge is done before hand. I then said I paid to have a decent room not a dirty run down room with damages. We told them that we spoke to our lawyer for advise and made a record of the room, a few minutes later they came to our room to replace only the chairs but the housekeeper never came to clean the sticky floors and dirty bathroom. Our $150 charge was returned the very next day after we showed them the pictures and video. We were very disappointed with how unfriendly the staff were, how neglected the hotel is, and the manner of the way they handle their guests. WORD OF ADVICE TO ANYONE WHO BOOKS AT THIS HOTEL, TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEO OF EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU GO IN AND AFTER YOU LEAVE SO YOU WON'T BE RESPONSIBLE AND BE CHARGED EXTRA MONEY! We were there to celebrate something very special and instead we couldn't wait to get out of there. Please do your homework before you book.

I want to express my horrible and life threatening experience at the RedROOF plus inn in Woburn. I check in yesterday July 26 around 4/5pm. As I proceeded to go in the building in quickly noticed 2-3 people accessing the building without a mask. I thought to myself that's odd given the serious health crisis The entire WORLD is facing. I continued to check in to find the receptionist quickly checking me in. I was waiting for COVID health screen of some sorts.. but NOTHING When she ask me to sign I looked around for sanitizer but NOTHING. I was exhausted so I plan to take a nap and shower. As I pull the sheets I noticed crusted food yellow in color on one of the blankets. So I proceeded to try to call the front desk to request new bedding I tried for almost a hour to only get a busy signal. I decided to grab a blanket from target as I just wanted to rest. Later in the bathroom I notice the toilet bottom half dirty. So I decided not to take a shower until I had shower sandals. I ended up going to grab some dinner once on the elevator I find dirty ear swabs on the follow. At this point I'm horrified. I tried to find the front desk receptionist but she wasn't there only two men fixing something again wearing NO MASK. After returning from dinner I finally found the receptionist who kinda gave the shrug of shoulder and there wasn't much she could do. I finally slept for about 2hrs and just felt so uncomfortable to left early around 6:30 to find more ppl getting on the elevator with NO MASK. I am baffled how REDWOLFE inn show no importance for The HEALTH AND SAFETY of their patrons. It's absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. We this GLOBAL pandemic you would think the hotel would be on top of the cleanliness and COVID preparedness. Wow. I would like this to get to every executive and owner. People are in grave danger going to that hotel.

Bedbug. I had to bag things up, throw things out, ruin some of my clothes in the dryer on high heat. Won't be going back.

Bedbugs. I moved to another room on another floor after finding one, but I still had to take all the necessary precautions when I went home. Bagging up everything and sealing it before putting it in the car. Washing all of my clothes with high heat and drying on high for an extended time ruining some of my clothes. Had to throw out some things because I couldn't be sure there weren't bedbug eggs in the creases and I wasn't taking ANY risks of bringing them home. That one night ended up costing me significantly more than the $175 I paid.

My Car was robbed in plain sight in the parking lot. thousands of $ worth of electronics taken from me. The Robber took ten minutes casually unloading my car and then loading his trunk with my Possessions. This was All caught on camera, including his face which he seemed to be wearing a mask, as well as him interacting with a known escort who frequents the hotel Afterward. Seemed like they planned it and were in on it together. Anyway, I received no help or advice or reimbursement of any kind from staff the next day. other than one security guard, who did at least Show me the tapes which I appreciated, no one else seemed to care. Unfortunately I had to leave the state for thanksgiving right away that day and was unable to file a police report but I have been waiting for a follow up from The hotel that never came. When I can finally return to mass I intend on filing a report though it's probably Too late by now

The rooms come with body lotion, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. I love the smell of these and have used it, even though I brought my own conditioner and shampoo. There's also a mini fridge and a microwave. Ice machine is nearby the elevators. Room service is only provided upon request and is between the hours of 9am-noon I believe, maybe longer. Breakfast during the weekdays is from 6-9am, with alternative hours on weekends. Breakfast usually always consists of waffles (self-made), fruit, juice, coffee, and bagels/bread to toast. They alternate between sausages, potatoes, eggs, and Canadian bacon. There are usually people already down there by 6am, some even before then while they're still setting up. There's lots of seating with a back seating area as well. There is a Starbucks (no-drive thru) and Chick-fil-A (drive thru) in the same lot which is nice. The hotel lobby locks after 11pm, so be sure to have your room key to scan to get back in.

Do not recommend this place.

Best Western Plus New Englander - Woburn, MA…read more Stayed here from Oct 30 to Nov 1 for a short vacation in Massachusetts. The entrance was welcoming, and the staff--especially the friendly woman in the breakfast area--made a great impression. She was always cleaning and had a kind, upbeat energy that stood out. The room had two queen beds, a large cabinet with an ironing board and extra comforter, a desk, and a cool refrigerator--all solid amenities. The TV was tiny, and the constant Spectrum pop-up commercials were a bit annoying, though the remote was kind of cute. The room smelled strongly of cleaning products, but it wasn't unbearable. The chair was stained, and the carpet felt like a throwback to the '90s. The bathtub was unusually high, which could be tricky for some guests. The bed was very comfy, and the sheets were clean and soft, but the pillows were too small and flat--please invest in better ones! The pool was okay, and the gym could use an upgrade (maybe add some free weights and fix the odd smell). The food changed daily, which was nice, but overall it was bland--convenient, but not memorable. One suggestion: the Best Western we stayed at in Connecticut had an EV charger. Please consider installing a Level 2 charger here--it would be a huge plus for travelers like us. What saved this from being a 3-star stay? The 24/7 coffee station--a small but mighty perk. Heads-up: The parking lot is shared with a restaurant, and it gets chaotic at night

Negative: the amount of dog poop around the outside of the hotel was outrageous. I 100% agree that it's the responsibility of the pet owner to clean up after their dog. I certainly did. But walking her was like walking on a mine field. So nasty. After several days, it was obvious no one was going to clean it up. I brought it to the staff's attention and they promised to take care of it. However, it was never cleaned up before I left and my stay was nearly 2 weeks long. It stinks (no pun intended) because it makes an otherwise great stay - well okay not RUINED - but it was enough to make me not wanna stay there again. My last visit to the area, I booked the same hotel brand further North and closer to the New Hampshire border. I discovered at that hotel I stayed in farther North, I was going the same direction as people who work in Boston and travel North to home. The traffic was so busy at rush hour in those directions they open the breakdown lane (shoulder) as a travel lane. This time I decided to stay in a hotel closer to Boston because I would be traveling in the opposite direction of traffic during rush hour. I noticed this hotel is both a Homewood Suites and a Hampton Inn. I chose to book the Homewood Suites and selected a king studio suite because I knew I would have a little more space to do work in the evening and watch TV at the same. I also appreciate the kitchenette and full size refrigerator with other essentials for a longer stay. I booked and checked in online ahead of my visit. When I arrived I went to the front desk to get a key for the room because I've had some difficulty using the digital keys in the past. I ate a small breakfast each morning which was included. I was thankful the breakfast started at 6am each weekday because I needed to leave relatively early. Each morning there was a form of egg and meat and a couple of days there was also a potato. The eggs options ranged from scrambled to cheese omelets, to western omelets. The meat ranged from Canadian bacon to sausage patties, sausage links and diagonally cut link sausage slices. They had bagels, bread for toasting, oatmeal, a waffle maker and some other options. I was able to get something for breakfast each morning. In addition, there is a Chick-fil-A practically in the parking lot for the hotel which is open from 6:30am to 10:00 pm. I was able to relax a little during my off time from work and get some rest. Overall this was a great stay, it was quiet and comfortable. Other than the room and the breakfast I did not check out any of the other hotel amenities. I would recommend to others.
