This is a great breakfast place close to downtown Beaufort but not in downtown. Good food, good service, can't go wrong.

We did have a large group, but waited for well over an hour for our food, which is hard for little ones to wait that long when hungry. Some thought the food was good and others did not care for it at all. Everyone ordered something different. One son ordered french toast that looked good, but was so thick it wasn't cooked well. The inside was complete mush. My husband and daughter liked theirs, but mine not so great. Would not recommend if you have a lot of people or expecting quick bite to eat. read more

A day trip to Beaufort was highlighted by our fabulous lunch at The Red Rooster Cafe. The service was exceptional and the food outstanding. We had a large group and everyone enjoyed their lunch. I had the biggest salad I think I've ever had. There was no way to finish it! I would suggest sharing a salad if you order one. They have an excellent selection of salads, soups and sandwiches. We stopped by for brunch on a Wednesday morning. Husband had coffee and I had an iced vanilla latte which was really good. We both ordered the baguette with grits and he had a side of hashbrown casserole. The sandwich was very good, made with good ingredients. The hashbrown casserole and grits were both excellent. Awesome! Very casual family place ,walked in and it was ok just to find a table and we had coffee in five minutes. YAY! Waitstaff is very friendly and knows the menu very well. I had the fried green tomato blt and homemade potato chips and my husband the breakfast paninni and potato casserole. Food is homey and yummy. We could have spilt my blt easily. Man was it GOOD! I was oohing....yeah it was THAT good. Honey smoked bacon...yeah just go get on the treadmill for the rest of the day....Chips were awesome and potato casserole homey and spiked with a little pimento and corn. We showed up at a very busy time when the water festival was beginning and still managed to get served fast and have an awesome brunch. I sometimes feel like downtown Beaufort I am paying for the address rather than the food. The surroundings across the street etc not so great but honestly it didn't matter. The parking lot was packed full of cars. This place I would go back to anytime I wanted a sandwich or a fast salad or simply just good food. I wish there were more places like this because I was really surprised and totally satisfied. Not a chain, a real restaurant that seems to cater to pretty much everybody. We went on Mother's Day so the wait was a bit long but it was worth the wait the food and service was great and my grandma got a mimosa and she doesn't like most mimosas but she had 2 of those and they brought out water for our dog and were pet friendly the people were very nice and it was just great over all read more

I gave this place a lunch try and a breakfast try. Full disclosure: cleanliness is important to me AND I have worked in restaurants. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Went in for a late lunch on Monday, 11-12. Dirty floors under many tables. On our table the tray holding condiments had a strawberry top on it and a paper napkin ring. Whoever bussed the table did a poor job. When the front of the house is dirty one wonders about the cleanliness of the back of the house. Breakfast this morning, 11-13. A bit cleaner as it was early in the day. Still things on the floor when we went in that were still there when we left. Management needs to do their job! Won't be returning. read more

Had a visit here today 7/28/19. The hostess seemed out of sorts with where to sit us at first- okay making sure the rotation stays fair i get that. The music was way to loud to even hold a conversation or hear when the hostess asked us what kind of table we wanted. We had to say "what" a few times. We said they should turn the music down and the hostess and another waitress laughed at us which was completely rude. With having two small children in tow, they didn't even offer us high chairs. Once the food came out it was okay. Nothing to write home about. The chicken and waffles were the only good thing that we had at the table, and coffee was bitter. The lace curtains that were at our table were cover in food and needed to be washed. There was also an over weight server who was wearing shorts that were incredibly too short, very unsettling when she was servicing the table next to us and we were looking at her backside. Over all not a great experience and very disappointing since the reviews where so high. read more

I'm new to the Beaufort area, and have really enjoyed scoping out local places. My husband and I went to Red Rooster with a friend at about 11 am on a Saturday. It was packed (as is to be expected) but I think we waited about five to ten minutes before being sat. I ordered the fried green tomato BLT, but added a couple of eggs to it and had the home fries for a side. My sandwich was perfect! The lettuce was fresh and crunch, the bread was soft, and the bacon and fried green tomatoes were outstanding. Despite being slammed, our coffee cups were never empty and the food came out in a timely manner. We definitely had a great experience, and can't wait to come back! read more

Not being local and wanting to find a great place for lunch we stopped at this gem in SC after reading other wonderful reviews. The business was busy but not overcrowded and we were able to find seating easily and quickly received our very sweet (that's how I like it) sweet tea. The menu has many different lunch options but my husband and I decided on the "Yo Adrian" and the "Hey Y'all". Both were top notch, couldn't have asked for anything better. The Hey Y'all was a perfectly cooked, juicy bacon cheeseburger with a fried green tomato on top - mouth watering! The Yo Adrian was an amazingly assembled Italian sandwich with the best meats, cheese, banana peppers, and Italian dressing - perfection! I would definitely recommend this to everybody. Great experience! I ordered the Breakfast at Tiffany's and it was delicious! I think my only take back was that they added too much nutmeg. But beautifully presented! The staff is super friendly and attentive. We went on a very busy Sunday morning but waited no more than 5 minutes to be seated! Stopped in for the first time today to grab a quick lunch. I ordered the Quesadilla panini with a pasta salad and sweet tea. The sweet tea is honestly the best sweet tea I've ever had, it was perfect. The pasta salad was amazing and the quesadilla panini was out of this world. There were a few people standing outside waiting so we joined them. It was cold out but we decided to give them 5 minutes after the posted opening hours to open. Red Rooster is the bomb!! Great food, satisfied family of 4 with picky eaters. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Seating outdoors was comfortable although most likely set up for limited seated during COVID. Umbrellas over all tables and spaced out well. My family comes here most Sundays. Red Rooster Cafe breakfast is delicious and their service is usually great. We have had just about everything in the breakfast menu and I am really partial to the hash-brown casserole side dish. The eggs Benedict plate is probably my favorite and you must try the lemonade. Thanks again yelp for another great recommendation! I was only in town for lunch, but I was craving breakfast. So I decided to check out this place as it had great reviews and known as the best breakfast spot in Beaufort. This menu is phenomenal, just looking at it made my mouth water. However, I had barely started reading it when Natalie started listing off the specials. One of them was the Rooster double stack; a burger with two patties, fried onion straws, bacon, and a mustard BBQ sauce. Well, my dreams of eggs and French toast quickly disappeared as she described it to me. In all reality, I'm disappointed that I didn't take the picture...but it was so good that I devoured it without even thinking. If I ever find myself here again I know exactly where I'll be eating. Love this spot! Came when we were visiting last year and couldn't wait to come back again this year! Ordered half orders of the French Toast (Breakfast at Tiffany's) and the Maui Cakes. The service was very poor. It was my mother in laws birthday and she got her salad on a cracked bowl, then the chef forgot to put her protein in the salad, after that the server made a mistake on our check and finally she added a 20% gratuity. I think with all these issues we should have received a discount instead of begin charged the 20% gratuity. read more
