This is the most bland, the most non flavorful( absolutely no flavor not a pinch of seasoning) chicken sandwich I've ever had. The food was fresh and hot which I appreciate. The fries were good but u have to eat them at the shack ,these fries will get soggy as hell if u do take out which I did. I ate in my car cause I was at work and stopped to get a bite. While eating the fries which were good it slowly started to get soggy within a minute. Guys u have to seasoned the bird and the flour. There was absolutely no flavor and that makes it pathetic . Stopped here for lunch. Played it safe by ordering the three piece chicken tenders. Added fries which are the shoestring type. Chicken was good but honestly, there are other places we could go with sit-down service where you get better value for your money. That said, the young lady working the counter was very efficient and sweet. She checked on us during our meal to make sure there wasn't anything we needed. We for a drive and put this place in the GPS because fried chicken is my weakness. It's a little place right off the road and you'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. They have indoor and outdoor seating but with the pandemic, indoor seating was limited to a booth and the two bar stools we snagged. Outside there are picnic benches. They have an a la carte menu with mostly friend chicken pieces but I hear they are known for their chicken sandwiches. I had the fried whole wings and pasta salad. The wings had great flavor but needed more crunch on the outside. I had some soggy skin which was a little off putting. The pasta salad was amazing. My wife had the fried chicken breast and mac and cheese which she enjoyed. The beer was good, cant go wrong there. Not quite sure what it was exactly but my wife did have a terrible stomach issue on our way home. Not going to say it was the chicken but not sure what else it could have been. read more

We heard great things and the restaurant didn't disappoint. We loved stopping in here for lunch! We ordered 3 types of wings: the tiger, the white tiger, and Buffalo. Each of them were yummy! The fries were also good! We loved sitting outside and having a water view across the road. Drink situation: there was a small selection of beers as well as soda. We had water because it was a warm day. The one caveat is there isn't a lot of seating in either the inside or outside. We were lucky and got a table :) We can't wait to go back! read more

This has been a consistent lunch spot for me for a while now. The fried shrimp and fries are great. Excellent service and good value.

We rediscovered this place after a hiatus, and enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich (after some doctoring with mayo, sauces and most importantly SALT) The house made fries had excellent flavor but sometimes they arrived soggy, the onion rings the same. Unfortunately, the fried chicken breast continued to be woefully under seasoned. Today, it was completely tasteless. This seems to be a major issue at many of the local eateries. A meal at Dockside the other night was disastrous. Why? Pasta was obviously not boiled in the right amount of salted water. It had zero flavor even with aggressive ingredients in the sauce that contained Tasso ham, parm, and Cajun spices. Unfortunately with all those flavor bombs, the meal still ate flat and was unappetizing. I am not a classically trained chef, but I consider myself a decent home cook and I constantly read and learn about various techniques and methods. Seasoning each component of a dish is rookie cooking 101. Do the owners and managers taste their food? Are the right people in the kitchen? Do they understand the basics of cooking? Sorry Q, we are taking another hiatus. It's hard to find an eatery in Beaufort that can consistently deliver on the quality of its offerings. read more

Q's Chicken Shack on Sea Island Parkway in Beaufort is a great place for all things fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, and sides. I really like the location that has a nice relaxed feeling of a roadside diner inside and a good area to eat outside with fresh air. Everything here is delicious and well made with the fried chicken that is cooked to order and comes out fresh and warm. I also really like their french fries and onion rings and the different sauces that come with everything. The staff here is very friendly and does a good job at making you feel welcome and works hard to make sure that you have everything you need. I'm torn as what to rate this place. On the inside it's very nice, but small. We had friendly service and choose to sit outside at picnic tables. It wasn't busy when we arrived but got busy fast. Food arrived fairly quickly. My husband and I ordered chicken strips with sides and son order a chicken sandwich. The chicken itself was fresh and made from scratch-no pre-made strips! And very large. They were not super flavorful but again, homemade. Son said sandwich was good. The sides were not great at all. Macaroni and cheese was basically just melted shredded cheese and macaroni and the onion rings super greasy. I'd recommend the chicken but not the sides. After business picked up, the cashier was having to also waitress and other customers didn't seem too happy with service. Maybe they were just short staffed. read more

That left us with getting an oyster po boy special, a grilled chicken sandwich, and 2 of the tender plates. The oyster po boy was filled with shells, half of it rendered inedible. The loaded potato salad I chose as a side was bland and dry topped with cold shredded cheese and bacon bits. The sandwich with grilled chicken was dry and the salad was plain but fine. Chicken tenders are moist, but highly under seasoned. White tiger sauce and honey mustard are tasty. Mac and cheese is dry as a bone but looked tasty. Overall, staff was salty but the food was not. The food was great. We had 9 piece chicken, Mac n cheese and loaded fries. The service was just ok. They serve the food on trays and when I asked for a "plate" to feed my kids bc we were sharing the chicken that came out on one tray, she said "they don't have plates". I had to tell her to get me three trays. She said "I'll have to ask." Overall the interaction was odd. The inside is small with only three tables. There are picnic tables out side. Exceptional. Small, air conditioned, quiet 3-4 booth- and that's it- lunch etablishment offering, unlike most places, tastes like day 1 picked ingredients and a small number of beers! It's really good! It's my favorite. There is ample parking, the food prices are not my cheap place, plant shop adjacent that I like to walk to and purchase from while I wait, a/c inside. There is ample parking, and it is just a short distance from a new park with it's own parking with more than 4 or 5 spaced out covered lunch tables under cooling fans. The parent company- and you'll hear the staff talk about college im sure, is across the bridge on Bay Street and is much bigger with metered parking and comparable prices on different fare. I like it and there's a marina nearby, atm, could bring food aboard if you wanted or have picnic. Have a picnic! read more

Worst chicken I ever had i don't even know if it was done gross just couldn't eat anymore

This looked like a really yummy place when we were craving fried chicken. Unfortunately, the woman behind the counter taking our order was INCREDIBLY rude and soured the experience from the start. We ordered chicken tenders, chicken nuggets, onion rings, potato salad and banana pudding. Everything was REALLY bad. The chicken is not seasoned at all, she only gave us honey mustard to dip it in which we all hate but based on her attitude, none of us wanted to go ask if they had other sauce choices. No barbecue option? No ketchup for the onion rings? Who dips onion rings in honey mustard?? The banana pudding was not good at all and tasted like instant pudding. The onion rings were just full of grease when you bit into them. YUCK. We all left feeling sick with half of our food left on the plate. Our bill was $70.00 for four of us to get sick and throw half the food away!!! Go elsewhere! read more

Awesome service and quality food. I will be returning! The fried chicken sandwich with white tiger sauce was superb. Their Mac and cheese is also quite delectable. I recommend this place to anyone with a hankering for some chicken! Also, it may be helpful to know that the layout for this establishment isn't exactly made for large parties--there is limited seating inside but it seems to work for the demand. In other words, there has never been a time when I've not gotten a seat but for busier times who knows what would occur. Love this restaurant all in all!!! 10/10 recommend! read more

I love this place and Q on bay, but I was very disappointed when I called to place a family order. I called a few hours in advance as it says on the page, but the gentleman who answered the phone told me they were busy and he didn't have time to take my order. I have worked customer service jobs throughout my years and I would've worded than another way to a customer. I would've been happy to sit on hold or happy to drive all the way from base to place my order in person if that was easier for them. I understand times are chaotic right now, but there is still a way to speak to customers. My family and I are constant customers and absolutely love both places and have never had an issue, so this was shocking to me. I understand people have their days and they may be overwhelmed with everything going on, but I was just doing what was recommenced on the Facebook page. read more
