They still got the order wrong. I called her 5 times asking where my food was. When I asked for a discount on food because order was wrong all she was willing to do was 15%. WORST Chinese food I have ever had. Hard to bite into OVERCOOKED General Tso's Chicken. Very poor customer service. The young lady server never came back to our table to ask if everything is okay or can I get you something else. The food is below average for high price. The Fried rice was TERRIBLE. You just lost another customer. We went to eat there first and then went on to Yelp. If I had read the poor reviews before going there, we never would have gone. This doesn't even deserve 1 Star! This place is gross. The first time I ate in the restaurant and the food was mediocre at best and really expensive as far as Chinese food goes. That was a few years ago. Tonight, we ordered in. They are the only place in the area who delivers. Once again, totally gross. The rangoons were like rubber. I've had better lo mein from the frozen food section from the grocery store. First, I would agree with some of the other reviews that this is probably one of the best options around for local Chinese take-out because the food is fresh and the portions are large. Strictly from a taste standpoint however, I would say their dishes are only marginally better than the rest in the Gurnee,/Lindenhurst/Grayslake area. I realize different strokes for different folks, but having eaten at great Chinese places in Chicago, SF and Hong Kong, I know of no other standards to go by. Would I go back again in a pinch? Okay so first, food took forever to get here, delivery guy was definitely high on marijuana. After receiving my food, I realized that I was missing 2 orders of chicken, one order of chicken fried rice, and one smoothie. The one order of chicken I did get was slimy and smelled like ass. Literally. I also found out that what I thought was 6 cookies, turned out to be 6 orders of cookies, so like 60 cookies total. The smoothie was horrible, warm, and tasted like water. Lo mein was horrible, the fried rice had chunks of salt in it, and they didn't give me a copy of the receipt assumable because the delivery guy was high. Ordered House Chow mein, must have got the vegan version , very little meat in it all fillers and not even what I would call Chinese vegetables.All celery and carrots and canned shrooms. Recieved very stale chowmein noodels. Fried rice was rice and very fatty pork, no egg no sprouts unlike any fried rice I've ever had. Been a relatively satisfied customer for years but always bought carryout. However, last night I decided to try delivery for the first time. Big mistake. After 1.5 hours of waiting and 2 order status check calls, I cancelled the order. People manning the phone didn't seem that they had a handle on deliveries. Lady with English language difficulty attempted to blame the address, suggesting that I changed my delivery address during one of the calls. I believe that is what she was attempting to relay??? Ordered the food online and picked ASAP pickup. My husband was there only 15 minutes later picking up some of the best Chinese food I have had in a long time! We have been coming to this restaurant for a long time and we have always picked up our food....never have to wait long. I have only good things to say and have never had the experiences of some of the reviewers here. The food is always fresh and made out in the open. Request fried rice with chicken and pea pods no fried rice came with the order. Called to complain nothing was offered to rectify the situation. Will never order from here again. We used to visit Red Sun at least twice a month. Tonight after picking up my order I realized I was missing one entree after getting home. I went back and was accused of lying. The woman demanded I go home and bring back the order so she could see that the entree was missing. I did so...when I returned they had found the entree and offered it to me. I returned all the food and asked for a refund. What terrible customer service over the price of one entree - to accuse the customer of trying to cheat them out of one entree! After waiting almost an hour for our food, Red Sun failed to deliver all items ordered. When I called to advise them of this I was told "yeah, we got slammed tonight". I guess that made it alright. I was offered a credit, which I declined, as I plan on never going back. They then offered for me to come pick it up, after I've already paid for delivery. I declined that offer and was told it may take up to two hours, if at all tonight. Are they freaking kidding!!!!....I've already waited for an hour.... My friend and I went in to Red Sun for dinner and order our food. The young man was nice at the counter as I ordered. I asked him the difference between the Mongolian beef and the Pepper beef. He said ONLY thing was that the pepper beef had more sauce and the Mongolian was more dry with the crunchy noodles. So, I order my Pepper steak and added with an extra charge, water chestnuts and baby corn. My appetizer and food came at the same time as my friends appetizer, soup, and dinner came out. They didn't space the food coming out of the kitchen. I took two bites of my dinner and couldn't eat it anymore. I asked the young man what was the little black things is in it? He said black beans...I can't eat black beans and was not told they were in there or I wouldn't have ordered it. He said do you want something else and I said yes I will take the Mongolian beef. I thought that was nice until he returned with two spoonfuls of beef. I said I am not happy with two spoon fills and paid twenty dollars for my meal and extra charge for the corn and water chestnuts that are not in this meal. I literally only ate two small bites of my original meal. He said he the owner is mad too! I said I am the customer and he is mad at me? He starts screaming at the young man in Chinese which was the second time he did that! That was so embarrassing to the young man, my friend, myself, the customers, and everyone outside that can hear him. I will make sure that everyone I know and through social media knows my experience of being screamed at, cheated out of $20 dollars, had my appetizer, and two spoonfuls of my dinner, and embarrassed and felt like I did something wrong when I clearly asked what was in my order before I ordered! Not even I am sorry, let me give you a refund, let me give you a coupon for next time, let me give you a discount, a meal to go, no just nothing but an disappointing experience that I hope no one else goes through that! read more

I considered giving one star based on the very poor customer service we received, but I bumped it to two stars because the food wasn't awful. It wasn't great, but not awful. They don't have good egg rolls, though. We were told to pick up our food in 20 minutes. We arrived 20 minutes later and stood there watching customer after customer come and go. It's now a half hour after we were told to be there and we are now convinced that they never put our order in until we arrived. So we asked how much longer it was going to be, and the lady was extremely rude to us giving us every excuse you can imagine. She told us that the potstickers are made fresh in a 4-step process and we said that's fine, but you shouldn't tell people to be here in 20 minutes if it's going to be an hour. We the food was finally done, she dropped it on the counter pointing at it and said, "There you go" in a rude snippy manner. We waited 45 minutes in the restaurant. She didn't apologize for the long wait, she didn't thank us, or any of that. I left livid and couldn't believe how rude she was. NEVER going back. read more
