Great experience. The thing that struck me first and foremost was that Toby, the salesperson we worked with, greeted my wife first and treated her with the same respect he treated me. Several things to note. 1. The salespersons will let you wander around on your own. 1b. When you're interested in driving a car, they bring it around to the front and let it warm up for you. They also scrap the ice and get it all ready. 2. They will let you take the cars for drives on your own. They didn't tell us where to go or how long to be out. 3. They will work with prices. If you have a reasonable offer, they seem willing to work. More than anything, I was impressed how Toby (our salesperson) treated my wife. He greeted her first and asked whose name should go first in the paperwork. He was never pushy or, as my wife said it, never said those car salesman lines. He asked questions and quickly and efficiently addressed all our questions. When we asked if we could take it to our mechanic, he said sure and was helpful in explaining ways we could do that. They also had an inspection done and gave it to us. For the record, our mechanic said the exact same things that were said in the inspection that was given to us in the office. I've never purchased a car from a dealership before. I'd always been pretty skeptical- you hear horror stories about pushy salesmen, hidden fees, and cars that break down within a month. So, prior to heading out to buy my first 'official from a dealership' vehicle, I did some research online. Red, White, and Blue Auto was continually highly reviewed for their great customer service. Knowing that I wanted something used and affordable, this dealership seemed perfect for me. The lot is small, carrying (I'm guestimating here) only about 60 to 70 vehicles, but worth viewing nonetheless. I walked straight up to their sales rep, Ky, and told him exactly what I wanted. They have a decent selection of trucks, SUVs, and cars- but 100% of their vehicles are used and relatively old (I'd say 90% of the cars on their lot are 8 years or older). Ky took me straight to a vehicle that I'd already viewed on their website online (and yes- all of the vehicles on their lot are also listed online- so you can view, review, and research prior to walking onto their property) that was listed $1000 under the price that I'd said I was willing to pay. Seeing as though most used car salesman want to make money, I was pleasantly surprised that he chose to show me a vehicle that was not only in my budget- but well under my budget. Shortly after he handed me the keys and allowed me to test drive. I took a quick test drive and thought I smelled gas. I arrived back and the dealership and let Ky know. He then drove the SUV with me and we discovered that the gas smell was probably from the car ahead of me (welcome to dealing with my blond idiocies). We arrived back at the dealership and Ky showed me the car facts, talked me through the history of the vehicle, pointed out all repairs that had been done, and showed me information regarding issues in the past with the vehicle (one wreck). He then, just sat back and let me look over the papers. He never once asked me if I was going to purchase the vehicle. Straight from the start all he did was allow me to view, test drive, and look over the information regarding the SUV. I arrived on their lot at around 5:00 PM, and had the car picked out that I wanted to purchase by 6:30. Unfortunately by that point mechanics had closed for the day and I let Ky know that I did want it to get checked first. He welcomed me to come back the following day and have the car looked at by a mechanic at that time. He didn't try to sell me the car without it being looked at first. He was very patient and was more than willing to wait for the following business day. 11:00 AM sharp I arrived back at the dealership and took the car to the mechanic. The mechanic found a few small issues and gave me a $1,500 estimate for the repairs. Everything on the car checked out, and all of the repairs were very small (nothing major)- some were merely cosmetic. Even so, I went back to the dealership and discussed the issues with Ky. I told him that I wanted the issues fixed if I purchased the vehicle and he let me know that I could have them fixed for a discounted price through the dealership. I asked if they would accept 13% less than their asking price (which would essentially cover the price of the repairs) and get the vehicle repaired prior to me driving off of the lot with it. They already had the car listed about 10% under the Blue Book price, so I assumed they'd have room to haggle with me a bit. Ky discussed my offer with his manager and within about 15 minutes let me know that the offer I made was accepted (no haggling, no hidden fees, no BS- although I was very clearly a young female who had no clue about cars and could have easily been taken advantage of). They then called the repair shop, got an estimated quote of $500 for all of the repairs. From that point, Ky dealt directly with my loan officer for me, letting them know all of the information and doing all of the necessary paperwork. I signed my purchase agreement. I paid my down payment with a debit card, and also paid for my repairs at the same time. Easy. Not ONCE did Ky ever ask me if I wanted to buy the vehicle, make some obnoxious sales pitch, or push me into purchasing anything extra or unnecessary. No hidden fees. No lies. No extravagant stories explaining why I needed to buy my SUV right at that moment. He was so relaxed and chill, that I was actually excited, happy, and felt as though I'd gotten a very good deal. I've heard awful stories about used car salesman, but this place defies every stereotype. Imagine walking into a department store where you are greeted, have your questions answered, and are never forced to purchase anything before walking out of the store. One star for not harassing like other places do, took the dodge neon srt4 for a test drive and it has about 126,000 miles on it and runs horrible, from what I saw in the 30 minutes with it is the clutch is going out bunch of loose bolts in the engine, loose motor mounts , car is running way to rich with probably a tube that is not doing any good, the rpms would go up but the car would not speed up, I have a Dodge Caliber srt4 so I know they have a similar engine and it did not even compare, also they wanted 5,900. They want way to much for it and they tried to tell me I didn't know how to drive it that's why it didn't feel good, I take good care of my car and I drive a stick all day that's what i learned in and haven't changed to an automatic ever.. they said nothing was wrong with it which is a lie. And whoever buys this it's probably going to break down soon. Watch out and don't take their work look in the engine, take it for a spin. ** oh and did I mention they tried saying we didn't know how to drive it and that we were the cause of the engine problems it had. read more

When I first started looking for a car, I popped on Craigslist and found a few of a make/model I wanted- and these guys had one! I checked out the same car (year, color, features, relative mileage) at a much larger dealership and they wanted $4,000 MORE for the same car- no warranty included and they were very unwilling to budge on their ridiculous price. R,W,&B were very fair, no one hassled us, I was able to drive the car a few times before making up my mind, and they even let us take it to a mechanic of our choice for an inspection. The car didn't have snow tires, but they called over to a buddy shop of theirs and were able to get me some awesome studs for an amazing price to throw in to the deal. We researched Edmunds, NADA, and even Craigslist in the lower 48- we were very happy with the price we paid. It seems most places in AK feel the need to nickel and dime their customers since there isn't much competition, but not these guys. I have had my car for 3 weeks now, everything is great! R,W,&B even made phone calls trying to help my husband find some good used tires and he didn't even get his truck there! For someone who HATES to price haggle/play the game, I really appreciated their way of doing business- I totally would have walked away at any point if I felt I were being taken advantage of and it never happened. read more

STAY AWAY! Salesman/ Owner/ employees don't know their vehicles. They ASUME! They will tell you one thing and after you purchase the vehicle you'll find out it was a lie. The owner will refund your money (maybe) but not the gas you just put into the car, the inconvenience to you or offer you discount or another vehicle! So your having to call the insurance company again, get a cab, find another car, more paper work, etc! Will not buy from them nor recommend to my friends/family/co-workers/ anybody! read more

I purchased a vehicle from Red White and Blue a few months ago. At the time of purchase, I was given temporary plates and told that my permanent plates, along with the title and registration, would be available in a few days for pickup at the dealership. I was also given an Application for Title and Registration which would serve as a temporary form of registration for up to 90 days. A couple weeks later, I had not received any contact from the dealership, so I called them to inquire on the whereabouts of the documents for my vehicle. I was informed that they were delayed, but my temporary plate was good for 60 days and they'd call me when they had everything. Fast forward two months, to Fourth of July weekend, and I still hadn't heard anything. My plates were less than a week from expiring, I had not received any form of registration, and my loan agency had not received a title. So I went in and informed them that I needed something soon because once my temporary plate expired, I would no longer legally be allowed to drive my truck. Their response was to send somebody out to my truck without my permission to get the plate, which they then proceeded to change the expiration date on with a Sharpie. This is obviously not legal whatsoever. I was then told that the title and registration SHOULD be available in the next couple weeks. When I informed the dealer that I would no longer be able to drive the car at that point, he assured me that my temporary plate with the date changed would suffice. What it ended up taking to get my documents was a call from my loan agency, an attorney, 65 days and a week of me not being able to drive. This is clearly an undue amount of trouble for someone to have to go through to be able to drive a vehicle that they legally purchased. I understand that sometimes paperwork gets lost and things could always take longer than planned, but this dealership bordered on just plain negligence. The only reason I'm posting this is in the hopes that nobody has to deal with what I had to. I'm an active duty service member, and the fact that I had to contact an attorney in order to get proper documentation for my vehicle, on Fourth of July weekend of all times, from a dealership called Red White and Blue is simply sad and ironic. read more

These guys really stepped up and gave amazing customer service. Not only was I able to find a truck that had everything I wanted, it was also reasonably priced based on every vehicle value site (kbb, nada, etc). They got me in and out in less than an hour, but it still gets better. I received a call a day later from them explaining they had scheduled this vehicle to go up for some maintenance and wanted to write me a check for $1500 so I could take care of it, hands down the best dealership I've ever been to. If I could give zero stars I would! We brought our truck to these guys to sell. We've never had any issues with the truck except for a u-joint needing to be replaced. Last week we even drove to Seward and back without issue. We park it in front of our house and have never noticed the evidence of any leaks on the ground, not even a slight one. The guy at this place took it for a test drive-which we mistakenly decided to let him go alone on- and brought it back five minutes later pouring coolant onto the ground and overheating. Then told us "he didn't do anything" and "he didn't want to insult us with his offer". We then had to drive it home smoking, had to pull over four times and had to add an entire jug of coolant along the way. DO NOT GO HERE! Go down the street a little to Quality Auto and give your hard earned money to honest people! read more

One word: Outstanding! Donny and his crew were extremely honest helped us with a really good vehicle. We had been dealing with another dealership and they sold us a clunker that wouldn't even run, and it all started with the "Check Engine Light." CEL's are usually not that hard to deal with, but that one from the other dealership was. When the wife and I were test driving our vehicle, we both saw the CEL on this vehicle and we were both wary, but we knew we needed a vehicle. Without us telling anything to Donny, he said, "I noticed the check engine light was on that vehicle. We don't sell vehicles in that condition." He wanted us to bring it in to get it fixed. Wife and I were both shocked! I truly wish there were more car dealerships like RWB! I think we were in there for one hour. At other dealerships, car-buying is an all day affair.
