I ordered some boots online and they did not fit well. I went to the store to return them and the cashier called for the manager to approve the return. She came to the counter, did not greet or smile, inspected the shoes and gave me a look like she was highly inconvenienced and let out a big sigh of disappointment as she walked away. It made me feel bad so I purchased a pair of boots just to prove a point that I was being honest with my return. I came home and thought about how I was treated. Came in today with my bf to drop off his old work boots so they can resole them. Process takes about 4-5 weeks right now so he purchased a second pair he can use in the meantime and had a great experience! He was quickly assisted and we were out the door in no time. I must say , we drove quite a ways to come to this store and we will NEVER GO BACK. In fact the girl was so rude and didn't give a s%$# about the customer it was unreal. My wife who is super easy going was shocked by this girls attitude. I went there for a particular type boot and we asked her for a certain size and she said sorry we only have size 7 and 12 and we would have to order them ? I said that wasn't going to work and she turned and walked away without saying 1 word ! She didnt help with our other questions or anything. I've been coming to this red wing store since day one. The owner was great and helpful and knows his boots. I wish they can clone him and most of his employees know about red wings. The manager that works there is a joke! He does not know the boots that well. I've been dealing with a dilemma with the heritage boots since January of 2020. I bought these boots on November 19 of 2019. Within a month the souls started to come apart, so I brought them in and one of the employees told me to come back when the manager in. So pretty much they couldn't help me! So one day I took work off early and went there. The manager said man these boots are tore up and we can't fix these soles, you need to call corporate. So I did now this manger told corporate I returned them already and multiple time, that's not the truth "LIARS " Pretty much I'm boycotting RedWings and I'm not going to recommend the Temecula store anymore. I've bought many boots from this store. I've had multiple bad experiences there. First one was a salesman that was pushy and didn't know the product or how it worked. I'll give an example. I wanted inserts for the boots, the guy put them in the boots and had me shove my foot in there, I could hardly get the boots on and they were very uncomfortable. He tells me that's how they are when they are new. I literally work for 5 minutes to remove the boots from my feet and realize he never removed the original insoles so they were doubled up. When I brought it to his attention he didn't understand what the problem was. He then got mad when I decided not to buy from him. I also just took some boots in yesterday to be worked on, add tuff toe and get new insoles. These guys didn't even clean the boots they just added the tuff toe and handed me back dirty boots. read more

After speaking with Chris over the phone twice explaining my dilemma he said that he would need to "see the boots in person" to determine if Red Wing would take responsibility for the defective resoling. I made the 30 mi commute and presented the 300.00 boots with 100.00 insoles and the 100.00 resole. Chris then stated that his store could not take responsibility for this defect because "the Red Wing that had them resoled in Long Beach was responsible.....they all have different cobblers and it states that right here (pointing to the size 14 font print on the counter)." So why would Chris have me drive 30 mi to look at something that company policy would never honor????? Answer: Chris is not so bright. Solution: I will not be purchasing from Red Wing anymore. They were very helpful with what styles would fit my foot best, and were very patient with me while trying on many different pair. They will clean and condition any red wind shoes here at any time. Long story short if you need your company to pay for your shoes via phone DO NOT USE THIS STORE THEY WILL NOT SELL YOU SHOES!! The experience of actually trying on shoes was fine. The staff was nice and let me try on what I wanted, whatever. As a government employee I have no choice but to buy shoes from redwing and it has to be done the "government" way which of course is slow and terrible. BUT this store made it even more slow and terrible than it needs to be. When I tried on the shoes I specifically asked if they can accept credit cards over the phone. They said usually no, but due to the pandemic they would accept them. So I find the shoes I like, get a suspended receipt, go through all the hoops. A few weeks later it is time to buy the shoes. My supervisor calls with the government credit card and they say they don't accept credit cards over the phone.... then a step worse they say I called them and told them I didn't want the shoes anymore and I found a better price elsewhere.... It's the weirdest thing I've ever encountered. First, I never called and told them I didn't want the shoes, second even if I had ARE YOU NOT A SHOE STORE THAT SELLS SHOES??? Who cares if I theoretically called to tell them I didn't want them (which I didn't) just sell me the shoes because you are a shoe store!? If I could order the shoes on Amazon I would but I'm stuck dealing with you and this terrible brand. To make this even more strange- I've since called three other red wing stores to try and find these stupid shoes and THEY ALL ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS OVER THE PHONE!!! It's not even a company policy... What a joke. I put an order in for my boots September 29 2021 at the Temecula location. First off I wasn't given the option to pay but the guy behind the counter said they'll be here in a week. Month goes by no word from the store. Then apparently they went corporate in that time. So I've called a few times for weeks on end and no one was answering the phones. So I made my way to the store and was told the boots are still back ordered. Ok i guess. Fast forwards to today 2-7-22. Apparently the red wing store "called" everyone in the book that had put in orders. I never got a call and come to find out they canceled my order last month. The only reason why we decided to go there is because someone else told us to go check them out. They never mentioned the customer service, they just talked about the boots. They didn't greet us when we walked in the door. They didn't even look at us when we were looking around. They walked right by us and didn't even say hello. There were only two customers. Maybe they don't need our business. Maybe they were just so busy. Maybe that's how they were trained. Maybe customer service isn't important to this business. They didn't even have what we were looking for. On top of that the prices are outrageous. You get better customer service at a sushi bar. At least they say Hi to you when you walk in. My husband purchased a pair of of boots last week and they ended up being too small with the inserts, I was worried about the return when my husband went to take them back since I was unable to go myself and my hubby was not answering his phone so I called the store like a psycho to make sure he was there and everything was going smooth. My husband initially had a positive experience buying work boots from this company. He likes the boots pretty well, they're comfortable and are holding up okay to heavy wear at his full time job in landscaping and maintenance. At the time of the purchase they really talked up their complimentary cleanings for the lifetime of the boots. Of course repairs, etc. are an extra cost and separate service, but free cleanings are supposed to be built in to the cost. We have a 4 month old baby so we dropped off my husband's boots when we were in Temecula to hopefully take one thing off his to-do list. They would only hold the boots for a day, so he drove back up the next day to pick them up. He checked with the staff that they had really been cleaned, and was told that they had. These boots were absolutely not cleaned. My husband ended up spending 40 minutes with a rag and a commercially-available leather conditioner to actually do the job at home. Why bother driving up to Temecula and bringing them in? If they're not going to complete the service, they should just take it out of their sales pitch. read more

I ordered a pair of boots back in December of 2020. They said they'd be in in about a month and that I'd receive a call upon their arrival, but that never happened. I went into the store in person every month to check, but was told every time that the boots still hadn't arrived yet. In May of 2021, I went in to check again and was told that the boots had arrived three weeks prior, but had already been sold. They told me that they called me, but when I showed them my phone record with no call from their store, the employee simply said, "Oh, well I'm not usually the one who calls, so I don't know what happened". I was then told to come in the next Friday so they could have a pair brought over from a different store. When I came in then, not only was I told that the pair hadn't come in still, but that they weren't even made in the size I needed. Maybe it's just this location, but this store is very poorly run with no accountability whatsoever. read more

Stole $50 from me due to the lack of proper documentation by store personel. Sold my family the wrong size belt even after being told the correct size because it sold something weather right or not. Than I returned the belt for the proper size they took the belt noted it in some log. After checking back several times they never ordered it now a month later it finally came in. I still had to call them to see if it came in. Upon receiving the new belt now they want a belt I returned a month ago. I tried to explain that I gave the belt back on 12/27/2019. This is after they could see several transactions on their so called computer that all of the sales folks have had problems using. I and my family made several transactions this month. So I took back the $150 pair of shoes I bought as a Christmas present to myself....showed them I'm wearing an old pair....they refused to understand they made a mistake......so I lost a $50 belt and Red Wing lost a family with electricians, forestry and correction personel as my son-in-laws. In this day and age I'll take my business to anyone of a dozen shoe store....be careful they do not have their act together....they stole a $50 belt from me. read more

A nice clean place. Associates were knowledgeable, friendly and wern't too pushy or following you everywhere like some small places do. Although the prices are a little steep, you do get what you pay for and that is craftsmanship and best yet they are American made which are hard to come by. After finding the ones I liked, she brought out 2 width sizes to make sure they fit me comfortably.
