Here's some things to help you out…read more https://www.tecolinestreetcar.org/assets/maps/Streetcar_Map.pdf This is a map with all 11 stops for the TECO Streetcar. Useful for navigating and determining the stops you want to get on/off at. https://www.tecolinestreetcar.org/livemap.html This is a quick link to live map of actual locations of both southbound (going Downtown) and northbound (traveling to Ybor) cars - useful for getting a good idea of how much time you'll have to get or wait at the station. ----- As mentioned by others, the TECO Line Streetcar is completely free (no fare/fee to utilize). With that being said, if you ever want to skip the hassle of driving back and forth between the Downtown and Ybor districts, this is the way to do it. It's definitely a great mode of public transportation around the aforementioned districts. Complimenting the mode of transportation, the Streetcar system also offers a very fun/entertaining way to get around. It can definitely be fascinating to be able to ride earlier technology that existed prior to modern day mobiles. The streetcars travels probably no more than 30mph at any given time - slowing down and speeding up between to adjust the other local traffic patterns and conditions. So with that being said, if you're looking at travelling the entire length (between Stop 1 and 11), I would safely dedicate 45 minutes for that trip. We never had to wait long at any stop before getting on (plus you have a link above to help you manage the time a bit better). Route-wise, you will be able to see and access the neater areas of Downtown Tampa and the Ybor District. The stops/stations are rather well thought, designed and planned. All stations offers an ADA-accessible ramp. Yes, sometimes the cars get packed, but that's with any public transportation system - definitely something to consider when it comes to understanding the local events happening in town and how that would potentially impact the line. We have ridden the TECO Streetcar Line about a dozen times at this point, and have always enjoyed the relaxing ride! Definitely recommend this experience if you're in town!

This port handles typically smaller ships due to needing to depart Tampa Bay by the Sunshine Skyway, so has height limitations. We parked at the terminal parking across the street, which had ample parking, and was a short block and a half walk away. As soon as we reached the terminal front sidewalk, there were friendly porters there to swiftly take our bags to be moved on board. Plenty of people around pointing you in the right direction to hit the next stage. Security was super fast and check in was a breeze. All in all from the time we left our vehicle, we were on the ship in less than 30 minutes time. There were waiting areas, but no one was in them as the transition was so smooth. Would definitely give high marks to everyone. Debarkation was just as easy (with passports) as the facial recognition allows you to essentially just keep walking from the gangplank from the ship all the way to your transportation.

The Port of Tampa Bay is unbelievably organized and is perhaps the best place to board/disembark from a cruise ship anywhere. They operate on a staggered boarding process where you claim a time to board days before you leave and are well-staffed and clean. My group of 15 and I were very content with our experience here in mid-March 2026. We had a 10:30am boarding time reserved. Disembarkment is a bit more unorganized than boarding - it ended up being a bit more "open world" vs "linear" getting outta there if we are speaking in video game terminology. Nonetheless, the Port of Tampa Bay is a well-oiled machine and I wouldn't mind if I needed to go through here on any future cruises.

But I wouldn't recommend traveling by train if you are alone, especially if the travel times are not convenient. I traveled from Tampa to Jacksonville on a Sunday evening. The train arrived about 40 minutes late, and because the station is under construction, everyone was lined up at the platform in Florida heat at that time. Not fun. Not enough seating for everyone at the platform. There are no seat reservations for standard seats on this train. If you are traveling in a group, the porters will make sure you are seated together. But if you are traveling alone, you will be at the mercy of chance, and I lost that gamble during the trip. I spent my journey uncomfortable and stressed out. There is a cafe, but I did not go there. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my work computer at my seat unattended, and I didn't want to have to heft my computer bag and purse all the way to the dining car. Thankfully, I had packed a snack, so that sustained me for the 6+ hour journey. There's wifi, but it was not great, and my phone kept switching to using the 5G. The bathroom was pretty foul. I limited my water consumption to avoid using it, but I could smell it from my seat. We started 40 minutes late, but by the time we got to Jacksonville, we were more than an hour behind schedule. That meant I got to Jacksonville after 11pm, which wasn't great as a single female traveler. My employer is headquartered in Jacksonville, and there's no direct flight from Tampa. But based on my experience, I do not think the train is an option. I will have to drive the next time.

We took the #5 bus straight to Busch Gardens and saved a bundle on parking! It was a 30 minute ride in air conditioned comfort. We did have an issue where our Flamingo veteran's pass did not work and the customer service had a handprinted sign "Be back soon" and we waited, but finally had to catch the bus. Another person in line was in the same boat. One young man eventually did get help adding money to his pass, but by then our bus was leaving! His bike was already loaded on our bus, so I alerted the driver and he stopped and waited a few seconds, just enough for the young man to run over and board. When we got back five hours later the same sign was up and again we waited but no one came back soon. Lots of disappointed folks like us that day. Behind the building a woman in her transit uniform was talking on her phone. I wondered if she was the one taking so many long breaks?

TBH...I don't, for the life of me, remember the last time I took the bus to anywhere, and taking the Bigbus Tour in San Francisco last week certainly doesn't count. Heck...for a couple hours on that tour, I traveled around 15 miles for $55.00! The stigma of the usual type of characters that take a bus on long distances is real; I noticed some interesting people that you'd be better off not staring them into their eyes, and I almost met some chill people that due to them missing their flight, had no other option back to Miami for their connecting flight to London the next day. Nonetheless, it was a mixed bag of personalities. For the most part, everyone was pretty relaxed with no issues whatsoever and then men running the bus made sure that if you're out of line, you'd be on the side of the road by yourself; they weren't mean by any measure...just authoritative and you could see that from the onset. For the price of what they charge, $28.00 for a seat on a double decker bus with a couple power outlets and WiFi from Tampa to Miami, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal anywhere; in fact, you could pay even less if you booked your travel a lot earlier but this was the day before I left so how can you beat this deal? The bus made a couple stops after we left Tampa; the first one was in Ft. Myers and it was a Loves Travel Stop that housed a Wendy's and a Subway; they're also a full convenient store that sells about anything you wish but don't buy that beer as any alcoholic beverages aren't allowed. The stop here was a brief 20 minutes, and soon we were on the way. The second stop was off of Sheridan and 95, just south of T.Y. Park, and the stop here were for travelers looking to de-bus. We finally arrived at the bus terminal that's connected to the MIA Rental Car building that also ties in with Metrorail but at the time we arrived which was around 12:30am, it wasn't running; we were around 15 minutes late as to our proposed time of arrival. Megabus runs across the entire US with connection points all over and it's certainly a great way to travel if you don't want to drive, and flying is out of your budget, or maybe you're trying to stay low key as they don't check your ID upon boarding; you simply show an email with your ticket number and you're on. On the day I traveled, the WiFi was down so for those who solely relied on it, they were probably somewhat bored but oh well, it's still hard to beat this awesome way to travel. Staff of 2 men was friendly...only suggestion I have is to maintain the interior better, ie, windows, and fabrics on seat need to be better cleaned. There was a bathroom on the bus but I didn't use it by choice.

I was delayed 1.5hrs arriving on both my departure AND arrival trips this past weekend. Not because of traffic, road conditions or weather. Because of the terrible drivers! The first driver made us wait at the stop for an extra hour while he called the cops to get multiple passengers escorted off the bus FOR PRETTY MUCH NO REASON other than he thought they were rude. The second driver on the trip back was not well trained and did not have a gps. He missed our exit and drove 20 min north before realizing it was the wrong way. We then sat on the shoulder of I-95 for 45 minutes while he waited for instruction from dispatch. Rather than just turning the bus around. It was horrible. I am writing this review after already attempting to find a resolution with customer service. I called and they would not help me. They kept saying it wasn't their fault because it was traffic and weather (FALSE). Then I emailed Megabus and explained everything in detail. I GOT THE SAME RESPONSE! If it means so much to them to keep $70, then so be it. They are crooks and liars and I will be sure to let everyone I know that Megabus is a pile of hot flaming garbage. I will never ride with them again after the way customer service handled the situation.
