Shelving that movers did not take.

Redefyne Moving & Storage Patrick McGuire Posting publicly across Google Overall I would rate Redefyne Moving an overall average of three stars. We moved from Oregon to No. Idaho after being in the same house for 18 years. We rented an 8ft Uhaul trailer to take items they could not move such as plants and household cleaners. Communication/Customer Service- Overall rating of one and a half stars. There was lack of communication from the foreman, customer service office, operations manager and owner named Aaron. He conducted the estimate remotely. Not given an option to have him come in person although later were told that we could have requested in person estimate. Home was 2400 squae feet with lots of storage in our garage attic. If Aaron had come to our home we feel that we would have been able to retain some of the items left behind such as ladder, dolly, picture, shelving and other misc. items as he would have been able to better tell us what would fit. During move they failed to ask us whether we still wanted towels for showering, untensils, tools to remove the TV mounts. Also specifics for preparation prior to the move were not mentioned to us. They should remind the customer what needs to be done prior to the move so the move is successful. The foreman Tyler was rude, and difficult to deal with when we addressed issues. He was argumentative always pointing fault to us instead of what he and his team could have done been better. Also, very aggressive and demanded payment at the end of the packing. I was not aware that we had to pay for the pack day separately versus at the end of the move as it was not discussed with me. I contacted the operations manager Dylan to voice my concerns on Day 2 when they loaded the trucks in addition I sent him numberous pics of items left behind by the movers. The foreman failed to discuss items that they left behind prior to leaving our house and driving to No. Idaho. We realize moving trucks may have been at capacity but some items could have been swamped out if they would have communicated with us. He listened to my concerns and said he would talk to Tyler about communication and how he deals with customers. I asked him to call me when the movers were unloading at our new house but he did not. Tyler discussed my concerns but would not accept responsibility for any of the items left behind but instead said we should have been more prepared. The unpacking on Day 3 went much better although the movers placed several boxes in the wrong room despite the labeling on the boxes. At the end of the day, Tyler requested final payment and asked if we wanted to leave a tip. Considering all the issues that we had I was reluctant to leave a tip but ended up leaving $150. The foreman asked if that was $150 per mover. I thought his comment was inappropriate and made me feel that I was not tipping enough. Move Out- Overall rating of 2.5 based on items left behind without discussing with us first. I left my wife behind so I could be at house for the unpacking. My wife stayed behind to clean up the garage and deal with items left behind. Luckily we rented a Uhaul to handle some of the overflow, neighbors and some good friends helped to get us out of the house in time for the new owners to move in. Move In- Overall rating of 4. The move in went better as the movers and foreman asked me for the most part where items should be located. There were boxes and items even though marked for a certain room were not placed in the appropriate location. The day after, contacted Dylan, the operations manager to discuss my concerns since he had not returned my call. He apologized and was receptive to my feedback. I requested a discount off the final move and he took $200 off. They moved us from point A to B and were under the estimate amount. If you decide to use Redefyne, ensure that you communicate what critical items need to be done prior to the move and insist on in person estimate if you have a large load as in our case. Update- A few precious items thrown in a box, not wrapped nor protected and broke, ceramic Zebra, soup ladle and a glass sand art planter. Very carless packers!

Everything thrown in garage. Large furniture left in garage and still wrapped.
    Brad C.

Not a big reviewer but this company should be avoided by everybody looking for a reliable, honest and responsive company! They promised a great & easy move. Said they wrap all furniture, protect doorways & floors, and will assemble everything they disassemble. 100% lies. See pictures for how they left our things... DAMAGED, THROWN EVERYWHERE, STILL WRAPPED (the items they actually did decide they'd wrap), AND 90% of our things were simply thrown in the garage - despite us having labeled every box AND the placing labels outside of every room! The guys complained the entire time about how their estimator miscalculated & then they tried to sneak in a tip for themselves on the final bill after I'd just told them nothing was put where it goes and nothing was assembled! HORRIBLE experience & will let everyone we know about this company when they're moving.

Tyler and Richard are amazing! Kind, professional, fast and efficient! They exceeded my expectations in carefully packing the boxes, neatly wrapping the furniture, and very carefully & thoughtfully loading our pod. We are shipping fragile antiques and they did a masterful job making sure everything was perfectly packed for safe shipment. They have excellent communication skills, too. Hope you get this wonderful crew for your move!

Main issues: 1. pricing lies (a bait&switch style of pricing). 2. Automatic "insurance" that covers…read morevery little. 3. Their online account access. 1. Ignore promotional pricing - once it's over they happily increase monthly rent by 70% of the normal rate. READ: PRICE WILL INCREASE ON THE 4th MONTH. This is consistent and likely an established business practice. Case 1: promo pricing was 50% off first two months. Large (intentionally nonspecific) unit- $136 "normally" with $68 as rate for promo pricing. Rented in June. Then, rate jumped by $88 to $224/month. Given notice in last week of September (25th) for November new rate start. After raising a stink they dropped it by $22. That's still $66 over what I budgeted. Case 2: Had to get a 2nd unit last day of move and didn't have time to go to a different place (believe me, I would have). A smaller unit at $42/months as "standard rate" (October '25). Promo discount of 50% for first 2 months. Notice received in December (26th) that rate will increase to $75 starting February. Again, over 70% increase in cost. And $33 above budgeted. Like clockwork. They claim: [*Warning - eye roll following reading their statement may cause pain*] "We understand that any change in pricing is significant, and we want to assure you that this decision was made after careful consideration. Our team is dedicated to providing you with the best possible storage experience, including ongoing maintenance and upgrades to our facilities." I watched this building get built. It's new. Upgrades..? No. Maintenance, okay but what kind of incompetence didn't plan for that in initial pricing? It's not incompetence. It's shady and unethical. Cowards. What does $100 get you every month? 2. They make you pay upfront for insurance at $12/mo that covers up to $2k. I suggest not storing items at $200 a month if it's all worth less than that. I gave my documents quickly. I was still charged (for first unit) and had to ask them to refund me since I was charged again. I got a second unit as noted - under the same account, passcode, email etc. They still preemptively charged that insurance despite my private policy being on file already. Needs more refunds again. Very dumb. 3. They have an online account (kinda) but it's limited in function to strictly facilitating them getting your money. You cannot see itemized statements. You cannot submit or view documents. You can update your basic info and payment info and see payment history (only total they took from your account so nothing useful). You must request actual itemized statements EVERY MONTH if you want to see what that extra fee is for. Only positives are the doors work and it's relatively clean. But it's new...we'll see how far their maintenance goes. Go elsewhere.

I have had a 10x14 storage unit at this facility for just over a year and, in that time, my rental…read morefee has been increased by more than 150%. When we started, my "introductory rate" was $103 and the following month it was $183. 3 months later, it was increased to $246 and, at the beginning of this year it was increased again to $279. There is an ongoing promotion and special introductory rate combo where the same size unit is $51 for the first 2 months (the promotion states "Half Off 2 Months") and then $102 after that. Upon seeing this, I thought I might go into the facility to try to negotiate my rental and was met with absolutely no flexibility. I was told that the current promotion and subsequent rental fee was only a promotion and did not represent the complete cost of the unit. When I asked if there was anything they would be willing to do to work with me, they simply stated that rent increases are normal for everyone and they were unable to make any adjustments. So, I will be vacating my unit before the end of this month because of these unreasonable increases.

I should have just gotten my friends and a uhaul to move, but i was promised it would take 5hrs. i was billed 5.5hrs. tip top of the money i had left. and they didn't even have time to move everything. why? because their recklessness with my things i didn't want them carrying my computer monitors. they were hired to pack and move stuff across portland. they came at 1:30 when they said only to tell me that they didn't know they needed all the packing stuff. they eventually arrived nearly 2hrs later and towards the END Of the original window i was promised without any 'hey we will be there at this ETA' they said they got stuck behind a train, which is fine i guess? but no update after that until i called and complained, which got me a 5% discount, which is nice i guess? but like everything that happened after were MASSIVE red flags, both for the computer and the 'movers' which felt like contractors they just hired for whatever without properly vetting. i had a small move, 2 rooms. they were the slowest movers and most reckless movers i've ever hired. but i don't really blame them fully for that. supposedly they were working since 8am and just drove up from salem or something. they didn't even eat lunch. is that even legal?! no wonder they came to the door exhausted already and out of it. These 2 guys did the best they could, but honestly with how exhausted I was from helping them (something i SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO DO), they were doing a good job, but that doesn't really matter. in the end this guy ruined my 2000 custom built standing desk for music. not sure if i can get it repaired or fixed. he undid it and said he will put it back together. it was pretty easy just a few bolts into the joints between the wooden top and the legs and putting on the keyboard tray. easy stuff for the most part (when you have a drill, i don't own one). this guy didn't even look at where he was drilling or understand how the desk was put together after showing him specific things. he just drilled in the bolts and they hit a part that they're supposed to go into but was put in backwards making it impossible (on purpose) to get the screw in. this guy just kept drilling harder and harder and when i asked him about it he was like yeah it's supposed to sound like that. He either was so exhausted he couldn't think straight or just took on tasks he could have said 'yeah i don't know how to do that, can you do it?' either way now i have a broken desk that's only partially built and put together. i am really glad i moved all of my expensive stuff to my place with a friend last weekend, because they definitely would have broken a lot of very expensive things! I also gave them a mattress cover to put on the mattress, and they struggled doing that. You are movers wtf?! i zipped it up about half way and moved on. Then when we got to my new place they didn't even use it and put the mattress on the pavement to get a better angle or something. like what was the point in bringing it?! They also dropped a bunch of precious memories i had in a bin in a bin, they said they took them out because the outer bin couldn't close (bs). They were holding it open wrapped around their arm and i asked them to close it as it doesn't look secure and he said it would be fine, then immediately drops it with pictures and papers dropping on the ground and getting dirty. Anyway this all just happened. and there's no way I can live in my new place due to the lack of time they afforded to me to actually place things in the right spot. At least my bed is in the right spot. luckily for now i am in a short term rental because my last place had mold and why I am moving. i am highly allergic and being there as long as i did, both to wait for them to show up and how slowly they worked on loading the truck, I am feeling sick again because of it. The estimate was low balled to say the least because these guys move at a snails pace because this company overworks them and treats likely their staff like crap. these are probably more desperate people looking for an easy pay day. one guy was like 'i worked 4 days this month' and the other one worked 6 days in a row. a 12 hr day without a break outside of driving (which isn't a break) isn't really fair or legal? I paid nearly 1k for this move, and you can't afford to give these people a proper break between moves? I'm sure they weren't making nearly enough either. Lastly they pressured me to sign a thing at the end of the receipt that says everything was delivered intact, which i didn't sign. Anyway go with another company, not worth the risk. I didn't have another weekend to do this move as i need to have a livable space and that takes time as well. Anyway the movers were careless, slow, expensive, and ignored instructions.
