The staff here is so friendly! Dr. Gouin was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. He made the slightest adjustment in my prescription, which wound up making a pretty big difference in my vision. I also really appreciated how patient the assistant, Jenny, was with me while teaching me how to put in contacts (it took a *long* time over the course of two appointments). I never felt pressured into buying lenses from them, so I was able to order contact lenses through them while buying cheap backup glasses through a different venue. Parking is plentiful, and the location is very convenient (near downtown Redmond). I will absolutely be back when I'm due for my next exam. read more

This is going to be my first online review for anyone or anything ever in my life on the internet. But I do it now because I feel I owe this review to Dr. Robin Gouin: I use glasses over the past 25 years (since I was 10 yrs old). After my eye doctor got retired, I starting looking for a new doctor who would update my prescription. Since then I've never got my best vision back with the new prescriptions by other doctors anymore. Have had to deal with headaches and discomfort all the time over the past 8 years (I am NOT Kidding! and cannot say enough how frustrating it has been for me) ... every single doctor I tried (handful), they failed and could NOT fix it ... I tried top ranked Ophthalmologist in Seattle who let technicians do the eye exam!!! as well as other Optometrists who apparently were not intelligent enough either to figure that out. Finally, last month I decided to try another doctor and one of my colleagues referred me to Dr. Gouin in Redmond, WA. I did not have any hope to get this fixed. But Robin did not let me down. He was patient and intelligently checked my old prescriptions, all my old glasses, and compared them with my new glasses and prescriptions and did his very thorough eye exam ... He told me "trust me, you will get your best vision and comfort back with the new prescription". I was hopeless till I tried my new pair of glasses ... Our whole family has been coming here for eye care over a period of about 4 years. The doctors are really thorough and the staff has always proven very competent. We once had an issue with insurance and they helped to immediately reconcile, which was great. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone, especially if you are in Redmond, their location is super convenient with plenty of parking. read more

Very nice business. The office is easy to find and there is plenty of parking in the lot close to the door. The office is new, bright, clean and pleasing. The staff is friendly, very courteous and professional. They know all the insurance companies, so they make billing very easy; effortless. I saw Dr. Gouin. I found him to be knowledgeable and professional. He was very thorough, but patient at the same time. He was friendly and I never felt rushed. This is the first visit to this practice. Waiting room was clean and modern in design. Receptionist was very nice and answered all of my questions. Not sure why I had to wait 15 minutes to be seen by a support person who did all the eye tests on what I thought were very modern and new equipment. After some more tests in a different room the doctor came in and was very competent in her exam of my eyes. Will continue to visit this practice for any eye care that I might need. read more

I found the front office staff very pleasant and helpful but the doctor couldn't get my vision number right even after two visits! I moved out of Redmond now and find it difficult to visit that far the third time! Will take an appointment nearby to get correct number to get new spectacles. read more

The consultation went well, the billing was a nightmare and for one simple reason: I decided to purchase my glasses elsewhere. They processed the inssuranse authorization without my consent, billed me for $69 as co-payment for glasses(Knowing that i have paid $20 in advance as co-pay for the visit). I have called them about it several time, I informed them that this is a mistake, promised me to look into it. few weeks late the lady calls me asking for a form of payment. They ended sending it to collecting agency. When the Optician whom from i purchased my glasses tried to contact them and sort this out with the insurance company, they simply hanged up on her. Poor communication and bad customer service. read more

I love this eye doctor! We discovered them about 3 years ago and they are the friendliest bunch. They are courteous and professional. Our whole family are clients now. We have been seeing Dr. Gouin. He is trustworthy, for instance, when my kids do not need glasses he says so. They just moved to a beautiful new office and it is clear they keep up with the latest technologies. Loved Dr. Gouin! I had laser eye surgery almost 20 years ago that corrected my distance vision, but my 40s brought a new problem - seeing up close. I saw another optometrist a few years ago who suggested transition lenses as an alternative to "readers" when I complained that I was tired of taking glasses on and off. Several hundreds of dollars, and no other options later I just couldn't adjust to the new lenses. I finally had the courage to try again, saw Dr. Gouin and probably started the conversation with, "I just can't do transition lenses and need something else." He gave me multi focal contact lenses to try and I couldn't be happier! My vision is back and I'm no longer tied to a pair of readers that... "Where did I put those again?" Thank you so much for listening! The office staff also made sure I got the best deal on a year's supply of contacts, and even a rebate. I research all professionals whom I must trust with my health. I had Lasik 13 years ago from an excellent former Navy surgeon. Dr. Montecillo and her staff are equally impressive. I felt very welcome as a new patient. Dr. Montecillo performed a thorough exam and was willing to explain in detail the pros and cons of treatment options. When I had an insurance mix-up, her staff cleared it up with no problems. I live in Seattle and am working on a contract in Redmond. I will not mind paying the 520 toll to come to Redmond Eye Doctors when my contract is over. read more

I have been visiting Redmond Eye Doctors since we moved here in 2004. My whole family is very happy with Dr Rania and Dr Robin and the care we receive. I always have many questions when I visit and always get complete and helpful information before I leave. The staff is very accommodating if we have to change appointments (this has happened quite a few times) and are always courteous and friendly. I feel confident that our family is receiving the best vision care possible, and the prices for contacts and office visits are reasonable. They are prompt to file insurance claims so we never have any problems with that aspect. Finally, their new office is spacious and bright with plenty of parking! Highly recommended! read more

A year ago I had issues working with this office in regards to billing of my insurance. It appears that they have a difficult time with communication of their procedures, and make decisions regarding your insurance use without contacting you. I ended up paying far more then expected at the time of visit. This year I set up an appointment for a college age student, had to wait past the exact year anniversary (understandable) and then again was called because they couldn't get insurance authorization because the office for insurance was closed today. I asked them why set up the appointment if you couldn't get authorization today, and why wait until day of appointment to tell me this. Since they wanted payment in full up front, I cancelled the appointment, we had a refund from insurance prior to this that was never refunded but only transferred to another account. I will have to figure something out for son flying back to college tomorrow and will never go back to this office again. read more

I know we can't put 100% faith in an online review but the Dr. Robin Gouin and Redmond Eye Doctors Clinic is wonderful! I came in for SEVERE dry and irritated eye problems and was so nervous thinking it could be something serious. When I called they put my mind at ease and was able to get me in right away (even though I was a new patient). I had such a good experience that I decided to go back three weeks later and get my yearly eye exam, glasses, and sunglasses there. Dana who helps with your eyeglass selections is a expert and picking the right glasses for your face shape, skin coloring, and lifestyle! The eye tech (I can't believe I forgot her name..UGH!) was patient, a great listener, and made getting the initial eye tests and medical form history actually enjoyable. read more
