I also chose Guiness Mac and cheese as a side! This Mac and cheese had the Guiness flavor to it with a whole lot of cheesiness! Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! The service was a little slow but friendly! For the meatballs, Mac and cheese, and gravy - that is what you want from here. The rest was good too but those three items really made The Local feel welcoming to an out of towner like myself.

Whenever we order, we always wait at least 25-30 minutes. That in itself isn't the issue--it's more due to the fact several people will come up after we've ordered, get their orders, and leave, while we are still waiting. This could be because whatever we ordered is still being prepped, but seems more due to lack of organization. Same goes for their schedule--if we had a little more notice and the schedule was posted with regularity, we would eat there more often. Regardless, I support this business and would continue to try their tasty tacos.

We ordered a chocolate chip banana bread pudding for desert and it was out of this world amazing. I think we would pass on the buffalo dip in th future, but the foccacia bread was really good with a butter compote. We will for sure be back! I hope the service will be better next time we go!

The tiny cafe has about seven stools, and both staff and patrons were nicely hospitable and enjoyable to visit with. Also, turns out my dad was at nearby Fort Campbell for basic training, and that sparked some nice conversation with him once I shared where we were that night. Too bad more and more places like Ferrell's are disappearing.
