Excellent walkway. LoL. Really, who revues walkways? Like sidewalks. This is a really nice one though. It does go by the Redondo Beach Pier, which is one of the largest and funnest around. So much stuff at that Pier! Nice, quiet and spacious walkway. Great views. read more

We love the walkway. It's a very organized and safe place to walk. Restrooms available in close proximity with each other. Parking is no problem, depending on where you want to start walking. We can brisk walk the pier to the end of the walkway and back for an hour. It's doable, lots of place to rest. The sunset is ideal. It's always beautiful! read more

The first-to-reviewer describes the RB Walkway as beginning at the southernmost tip of Veterans Park and ending at Knob Hill, running parallel to the bike path and the Esplanade. Correct. This walkway is not the wide sidewalk along Esplanade, nor is it the bike/ped path that runs along the sand. The walkway is a cool little half-mile paved path that takes you on a scenic shortcut almost all the way to Redondo Pier. The walkway is hidden from street view & is above the beach. If you didn't already know it was there, you wouldn't know it's there....unless of course you discover it by accident or find it on Yelp. So it definitely deserves its own Yelp listing. You're above the beach looking down at sand & surf. There are buildings (a mix of tall apts./condos & vintage beach houses with big, grassy back yards!) on the inland side....and nothing on the ocean side except unobstructed panoramic views. Parking is mostly free on residential streets near the walkway. Peds only on the walkway - no riding bikes or skateboards or roller skating, must walk your bike (no railing on the ocean side in some places so good idea). Dogs OK on the walkway (& there are many) but not on the beach or beach bike path. I lived half a block from Knob Hill & Esplanade for several years. Can't even count the number of times I walked this path. If you enter the walkway via the stairs at Knob Hill, the path slopes gently down to Veterans Park, next to the Pier. You can also access the walkway at Topaz or at Sapphire. Just look carefully for sidewalks between the buildings that connect to the path. There are benches along the path where you can peacefully take in a sunrise or sunset. We're fortunate to live close enough to enjoy a nice healthy walk in this cute section of Redondo. Even on less than optimal weather days, it's still a really great spot to enjoy being outside. Whether the sun is shining, or the fog bank rules the air, it's an excellent place to leisurely burn off calories on a regular basis. People are friendly and smiling, whether they are strolling together, walking their dogs, or baby strollers, etc. (I am working my way up to actually "running" on the path, I think I am getting there). *Watch out for the cyclists when crossing street because none of them will stop for anybody OR anything, including STOP signs!!* read more

Come check out this beautiful walkway. It starts at the southern most tip of Veterans Park and ends at Knob Hill and runs parallel to the bike path and the esplanade. It's lined with benches for sitting and watching the sunset. From one end to the other it's .5 miles. A couple of buddies and I run from the north end to the end then run up and down the stairs twice then run back. We do this loop twice and on the second way back we do 10 push-ups and sprint between every other light post. Granted it's only two miles but with the stairs and the sprinting it always hurts. While you're there go sit on the bluffs at Veterans park with a blanket and enjoy a beautiful view of the beach, pier and sunset. read more

Fun for all ages, rich or poor, everyone is the same here. This isn't my favorite beach but it sure is nice and worth the stop if you are in the area. read more

4.5 The Redondo Beach Walkway has such a lovely view while walking towards PV. I love how it curves into PV. The path is continuous and free of cars. You can usually find easy, free parking as long as you are not set on parking right along the path at the meters. Go 1-2 blocks east and away from the Riviera to find free street parking. There is a little grassy area for your little ones and dogs to play. My main annoyance with this walkway is the non-stop ice cream trucks that blare their annoying music. It is continuous and detracts from being able to relax. In sharp contrast I have NEVER heard this on the strand in MB or Hermosa. read more

I LOVE the Redondo Beach Walkway. What a great place to walk, jog, bike, skateboard, etc. starting at the snack bar in Torrance, the Redondo Beach walkway continues all the way down to the pier and then way beyond. Located right on beautiful Redondo Beach, it is hard not to like it. On a nice day where the ocean is calm, it is not uncommon to see dolphins. There are multiple permanent restrooms and food at each end. Unlike neighboring Hermosa and Manhattan Beach, dogs are not allowed on the Redondo walkway or beach. read more

I wrote a review for Torrance Beach and now it is time for this pathway...Awesome. Though I hate running on concrete and prefer the tredmill but it is good to be outside. Trying to get a body like youtube stars' Mike Chang (sixpackshortcut) or Bart Kwan or better yet Yelp's Amber B. than do stairs at Ave C. I did it today and went up it 4 times up and walked down the ramp. My feet was killing me (must be the flat feet that I have thanks dad for passing that trait on to me). Seriously though those stairs will kick your living crap out of you. I can only go half way before using the rails...Weak I know!!! Oh I know for sure these stairs aren't a secret anymore since everyone and their mother does it. Heck former WWE Diva/Gracie JuJitsu/womenempower Eve Torres did a youtube video here. Good for her. But at the end of a good walk/run, I usually grab my backpack from the car and go back down and hit into the water to cool off. read more

I have to say it is a beautiful view. The bone of contention that I have is with the city of Redondo Beach And dog walkers who do not keep the boardwalk clean. There is so much dog poop and the stench of dog urine it sometimes makes it unbearable to take my morning walks there. If we could get dog walker to clean up after their dogs and the city to power wash the boardwalk daily it could be a much more beautiful place. read more

This was another unexpected find in L.A., parking was no problem either. I wish I had brought my skates so I could have checked out more of it but the part I got to walk I enjoyed immensely. Oh to have something like this so close, but being in Vegas it's a 4 1/2 hour drive and that's on a Sunday with light traffic. But I can't wait to come back here again. read more

I love it when I come back to Torrance our house is so close to this walkway, I love being able to start my day with a quick walk and swim(if it's warm enough). It also doesn't hurt that the pier is literally right next door. Super convenient to everything and still has a great, maintained path for walking, jogging, biking, roller blading. read more

I love the redondo beach walkway! It's a great place to spend some time outside walking, biking, running etc. It can get a little crowded but what can you expect with views like that. I often see dolphins frolicking in the waves from the path and it always makes my day! read more

Its a Nice Walk down there if you just keep in mind the walkways aren't JUST for walkers but people whom are Biking share the Same walkway which can Sometimes be packed depending on what time of the day you went and the Weather Conditions. read more

I love the walkway... it's a great place to run, walk, bike without traffic and while hearing & seeing the ocean waves crash. You might even get a glimpse of some dolphins while you are here. If you get tired... take a rest on the sand. There are plenty of bike racks along the way. Go all the way down to Torrance Beach, or all the way to the Pier and beyond! I love it!!! read more

I love coming here for running! This is such a neat, clean, place that is not overly congested. I almost said it was a heavily patrolled area, but not really, there is a police and beach patrol presence so you definitely feel safe. The bathrooms are pretty clean and I love the variance of the workouts you can get here. There are steep ramps to run or walk up/down, a bicycle and a pedestrian path. There is metered street parking so bring quarters. read more
