RedStar Home Inspections or RED TAPE WIZARDS?! RedStar is the kind of company that talks a big game but leaves you holding the bag when it actually matters. Their website is full of bold claims--they'll tell you they check a wide range of your future home. The stuff you hire a professional home inspector for. The stuff you pay good money for..... But here's what happens in reality: They don't catch obvious, documented hazards--things that could put you at risk. They don't note them in the report. They don't warn you. They don't even acknowledge them. And when you go back to ask, "Hey, how did you miss this?"--their answer is stunning: "Well, technically, WE SAID SEEK AN ELECTRICIAN" Wait, what? That's like going to a doctor and being told, "Hey, you should probably see a real doctor for this." If I needed an electrician to catch the basics, why the hell did I hire RedStar? That's literally your job. And it doesn't stop there. When I tried to raise concerns--politely, respectfully--I was met with a brick wall. From the top down, RedStar had no time, no interest, and no desire to hear me out. The owner? Dismissive. The representatives? Defensive. The attitude was crystal clear: "Not our fault. Not our problem. BOTTOM LINE: RedStar is not here to protect you. They're here to protect themselves. If you hire them, just know--you'll get a glossy report that looks good on paper, but when the cracks start to show, they'll tell you to go find an actual expert. Inspection of a new home can be scary, especially if you're buying an older home. We worked with Devin Evans, who was absolutely amazing. He was very thorough and took his time going over the house from head to toe, or should I say roof to foundation? He also walked through the home with us and pointed out his main concerns. My realtor suggested RedStar for my home inspection and I was impressed by the overall process and quality of the inspection. Booking was super easy. I called in and got everything set up. I was then sent a document to e-sign and I was able to pay for the inspection online. The actual inspection was great. We were out of state and not there for inspection. After the inspection was completed I got a call from the inspector who went over the findings. The inspector completed a detailed report that included pictures and videos. The report was received the same day that the inspection was completed and was very thorough. Reading the report I knew that there was a great deal of attention to detail during the inspection. I am in the process of purchasing a new home. The process is very involved and can be stressful. I was happy to have Devin as the inspector. He really took some of the stress of the process away. He was very thorough in assessing and reporting the things that really need to be looked at further by a specialized profession, as well as items that were recommended but not necessarily a hazard. He communicated throughout the inspection to keep me updated of his findings. When I saw the very detailed report nothing was a surprise because he kept me in the loop. Devin was very knowledgable and professional. Not only does Red Star Inspection have skilled inspectors, but they also have the necessary equipmemt to make sure they check everything. I like that Red Star inspectors check sprinkler systems, use thermal imaging to pick up whether there is moisture behind the walls, and examines the roof and attic. If they can't get on the roof they use a drone to get pics of the roof. I would definitely recommend Red Star Inspection for others looking to have their home or a future home inspected. read more

We are using a VA loan so the inspection is strict, but the home was built in 2007, so we figured it would be an easy in-and-out inspection. Devin with RedStar was so incredibly thorough and took the time to explain to us every little thing that he saw and recorded. He answered all of our questions, walked us through what he was looking for in the inspection and what we could expect from the sellers as far as repairs. He was on time to the appointment, took his time to ensure he didn't miss anything, and gave us an incredibly thorough and accurate report within the same day. I booked RedStar for an inspection on an investment property I was purchasing. It was a super easy process, booked through a calendar so no long wait times on the phone which is always a plus. I could not be more pleased with the entire experience. It started with ease of scheduling on short notice. I was then quickly notified of the inspectors name and contact information as well as the date/time of the inspection. The inspection itself was also phenomenal. Devin was thorough, professional, and super knowledgeable. He was more than happy to explain the code and the gravity of each issue found. The best part was the actual report. Even if I had not attended, I feel like I would have know everything from how much info was in the report. It had pictures, videos, and explanations. Photos weren't of just the issues, but also things like the info plates on the a/c and water heater. Nick Jones is the Bomb Diggity! I have a new build home and after reading about a ton of horror stories online about all the carelessness in new build homes, I decided I needed to hire an inspector to watch my back. I did a lot of research and called a lot of places. Redstar was affordable and they had a ton of raving reviews. Not to mention they were innovative by adding virtual reality to their reports. Nick Jones was assigned as my inspector and I'm so happy that he was! He was on time, super nice and walked me through everything and anything. He helped me answer any questions/concerns I had and he definitely looked beyond just the surface in the inspection. If it wasn't for him the house would probably have some unwanted issues that may not be discovered until years later or ever. Don't forget, even the little things count when it comes to building a home. You should get everything you pay for and Nick will help you with that! The virtual reality report was WAY cooler than I expected. Just do it. It's worth it. It'll also help you in the future if you ever need to know what it looks like behind the wall. (My inspection was for a pre-drywall). Not to mention the reports they give you are given within 24 hours. They are detailed with pictures and are perfect. Oh and I can't leave out Tammy! I think she's either part owner or front desk? But she's also awesome. Super friendly and helpful and 5 star customer service. Tammy you love to lie. And you can't stop can you. No one ever said I wanted free services. But if you want to think that please do. You guys did a piss poor job and quite frankly I wouldn't recommend you or your unprofessional services. Too many missed items and lack of experience. 2-3 years is not sufficient for my standards. But hey if that's your standards well that's your low expectations. Again do what you want. I just will never use your services ever again nor will I tell anyone to come near your lack of quality, lack of industry knowledge and lack of class as you mam do not have any. read more
