I'm saddened to write this review as I had a great experience leading up until I got my Montana home. We are family of 5, who drove from Sacramento.. invested $60k into what we thought & were told was a great 5th wheel. We get it home and opened it up, and the refrigerator doesn't work. Per Reeds, "it works" because it turned on. However, the refrigerator will not get cold at all and the freezer is the temp of what a refrigerator should be. We left it on for 6 days to give it a chance, and still the same situation. I called them and spoke to David and he said he spoke to the owner and their tech & they will not do anything for us, aside from offering us to purchase an extended warranty. What a joke. You sold us something that is BROKEN. I cannot put food in there for my family. You should do better, and do right as a business and for a family, especially. The theater recliners don't work, and I was told that before we took it home.. so I appreciate the fact that they were at least honest about that. To top it off, our generator had enough oil to run it twice, we had to get oil. Yes, it's a used unit.. but GEEZE, have some pride in the units you sell. BEWARE. read more

We bought a fifth wheel from Reed's Trailer Sales and we had a very mixed experience. My husband and I were in the market for a trailer to live in with our little one as the California housing market isn't allowing us to purchase a traditional home. We found a fifth wheel that we were interested in and talked to a sales associate about checking it out. After putting down a $1,000 deposit, they held the trailer for us until the weekend when we could drive the 2 hours to the dealership to inspect it. They didn't have it hooked up to power or water, so we couldn't test anything to make sure it worked, and it was clear that the trailer hadn't been very thoroughly cleaned after the prior owner sold it. The employees didn't have a lot of details or knowledge about the trailer, but being naive about the whole process and in a hurry to purchase as our apartment lease was ending, my husband and I purchased the trailer. A week and half later, at our walkthrough, we noticed how dirty the trailer still was, including the FULL black and gray water tanks! Ew! How long had it been sitting with someone else's waste in it?! We also noticed new stains on the floor from when we initially viewed it. We took the trailer home despite the issues in hopes that we could clean it up and resolve some of our concerns. Unfortunately, the stains are permanent AND the trailer is too long for most parks to accommodate it. :( A few days after picking it up, and before we even stayed a single night in it, we inquired about exchanging the trailer for a smaller model on the lot that cost $100 more than the one we purchased. We offered to drive the trailer back (in better condition than we bought it as it was now noticeably cleaner) and still unused, and pay the difference as well as any applicable taxes and fees. However, we were told by Mr. Dan Reed, himself, that it would cost us an additional $11,000 because of registration fees AND depreciation on the trailer...what?! How could a used trailer depreciate after it was driven from the dealership to our driveway and after it was in MUCH cleaner condition than when it was sold to us?! He also claimed that the hefty price to exchange trailers was because the salesmen were already paid...which is anyone's guess as to how that applies? We feel like we were misled and a bit taken advantage of. As a young family trying to manage living in these difficult times and in this expensive state, we were hoping that Reed's Trailer Sales would have been a bit more understanding and accommodating. Since then, we've had to very thoroughly clean the mildew-filled washing machine, scrub the stainless steel oven handles which are somehow stained, and flush the black water tank 3 times during the single weekend that we've been able to use it. We've been able to make a couple improvements and overall, we feel this trailer is good value and a good investment, but we wish things could have turned out a bit differently. read more

We had a great experience this past weekend dealing with salesman, Guy. It was our second time walking through one of the trailers. We came back and wanted to get specs, length, weight etc. so we could figure out if the numbers worked for our tow vehicle. Had a great conversation with him about being first time RVers, and what the buying process would look like at Reeds. Felt No pressure whatsoever as we're not quite ready to purchase. He gave us his card and a quote for the particular unit we were interested in. And offered that he's available via phone or text and email to answer questions that might come up. My girlfriend and I went into Reeds to "kick tires". We were promptly greeted by Kevin who was very friendly and low pressure. He gave us enough information to be dangerous and let us poke around. Once we narrowed down the trailer we wanted, he was extremely helpful in answering all of the million questions I had. We agreed upon the deal and Julianna in finance was extremely helpful. By the time we left I had asked enough questions and received all of the right answers that I was extremely confident in using our newly purchased toy hauler. When I picked it up I realized I barely needed the walk through, but the guy helping didn't tighten up any lose ends or questions I may have had. We went to the parts department and I believe it was Jared, was helpful in helping me figure out any accessories I may have missed. Our first outing in the trailer was a breeze and very fun. we recently purchased a trailer from Reeds. salesman Guy was all smiles and gave us assurances that their 100 point inspection would be done prior to delivery. we pointed out several items of concern and went through with the purchase based on Guys assurance. They may well have done a 100 point inspection but didn't fix some very noticeable problems. Here's the list 1.dead bolt in front door not working 2.both grey water tank valves leak privacy door to bedroom safety strap broken batteries not secured down propane tanks not secured down one awning housing missing kitchen faucet leaked under bed storage lock not aligned correctly do you couldnt lock it. read more

Bought my trailer new, Guy was professional and nice. After purchasing my trailer and getting used to how everything works I noticed there were things missing from the trailer that should have come with it. I called Guy about the missing items and Guy told he would get back to me and get everything squared away. Well that was not the case and he never returned phone calls. When o reached out to the manufacturer about replacing the items I was told I needed to return to where I purchased my trailer. Called Reeds back and it was his day off. Other staff members at reeds never returned my phone calls either. I would do business with reeds again just being sure to get everything squared away before I take delivery as their communication skills suck. read more

We had a fantastic experience at Reeds. We purchased a Lance 1575. Kevin was our salesman - and he was great. We didn't know a lot about Lance trailers when we came in. Kevin was able to point out the special features and quality craftsmanship that makes Lance special. We appreciated Kevin's help in answering our questions...and also following up with us thru returning several phone calls and emails. We also appreciated that Mr. Reed, the owner, was very attentive and willing to work with us on the pricing. Tammy help us with the financing and contract work- which she made fun and easy to understand. The service depart was top notch. My partner and I had been in the Market for a trailer . After going to a nearby RV sales location ( can't even say they are their competition) and being treated so poorly we decided to go to Reeds. From the moment we step foot we were greeted by the most welcoming gentleman aka Guy Fairon . When we told him what we were looking for he guided us to several potential RV trailers and he let us compare each one with out any pressure or stress that you normally get from sales people. The connection we made with guy was on a professional level and a friendship was built. We knew that we were going to come back and buy from him! And so I went back and sat with Mary Liz at the finance department, she made the entire transaction so smooth and easy! With no hassle and everything that was promised was fulfilled ! Warranty will not be honored. Bought a dump trailer from Reed's in 2020. After about 10 months a wheel bearing failed. I thought I'd be able to make a warranty claim. I had to pay a towing company $300 to get it towed to Ried's for service and was informed that the warranty is not through Reed's, but rather through the axle manufacturer. They would need to send the Axle to a facility in the south for approval of a warranty repair. How long with that take? Several months they said. Or, I could pay for the repair now and they would reimburse me when the warranty approval came through. It has been over a year since I paid $1000.00 for the repair. I have called to talk to someone about this over a dozen times, but magically David never seems to be at his desk. These people are shady. read more

Reeds Trailer Sales in Petaluma are the worst. Yesterday they were picking up my neighbors 5th wheel. the 2 guys in a pickup turned around at my house going way too fast. So fast as I watched them race down the block to back into their 5th wheel to hook it up, They looked to me like they were trying to steal it. I went down to check and my neighbor was outside so it was legit. The 2 guys trying to hook it up were clueless and going as fast as a nascar pit crew. They had the hitch too high and landing gear wasnt set right so rather than take a minute to re adjust the coaches legs, they were driving back and forth bending the landing gear. My neighbor is old and just lost her husband. I told the 2 guys they better slow down to which they snuffed at me and continued doing their thing. I then yelled at them to stop damaging the trailer and they said to call their boss. I called the store and Guy the slimy saleman ansered finally as the service dept would not pick up. I gave him my complaint and he promptly hung up on me. I called back 6 more times and he hung up on me each time. I left a message with their service department asking for a callback. as of now they have not retruned my call nor do I imagine they will. My parents bought a new trailer from them years ago and Reeds was horrible and took forever to fix things that were broken on their brand new trailer out the gate. Reeds Trailer are a a bunch of crooks and clowns all rolled up into one package. Do yourself a favor and save money to by not going to these ass clowns for any RV needs... Here's an addition to my rant. Their website says they are A+ rated by BBB. I looked them up and they are on the BBB website but states they have a C+ rating and are not accredited. These guys are absolute crooks and even lie on their website about their BBB rating. read more

COME TO REED'S OVER SANTA ROSA RV. There is a good reason why these guys rock a solid Yelp page..... BECAUSE THEY'RE HONEST! Not only are they honest and trustworthy, they spend much needed time with their clients. I've been into Reed's 2 times now and the first time Guy spent a lot of time with our family to help us make the right choice. Today, we talked to Mike. We had just come from Santa Rosa RV who was pushing a trailer on us that was way too big. I have a Tacoma with a max tow of 6,700. Santa Rosa RV was dead sure that I could handle a 5,500lb dry with 1,200 cargo room to play with. EASILY. Maxing it out of course. When I mentioned this to Reeds, I was looked dead in the eye and told that, they (Reeds) wouldn't feel comfortable (AND WILL NOT) sell me something over 4,300-4,500 dry max for safety reasons. It is to dangerous to max out. I feel like SR RV was trying to make a sale over the safety of my family. I truly value Reeds expertise. Unfortunately, I would need a bigger truck to tow their trailers they offer. Unless I bought a 20ft Lance. Then we are talking $40-$50K. THANK YOU for your honesty REEDS! Terrible customer service. Twice. My Dad bought a $40k trailer here. When my husband went to get a part for it, he was first challenged, "Did you buy it here?" What does that matter, but, yes, we did. Then he was vaguely waved to a corner to find it himself. But, today, it was worse. We were out to buy a trailer today. Serious buyers. I (female) walked in while my husband was finishing a phone call. The salesman was standing around, and didn't say a thing to me until I said Hi. He said, "Hello," and turned away. When my husband walked over, he immediately engaged him and asked what he could do for him. Are you kidding me? In 2022, a salesman that sexist? My husband answered, "I'm with her." Poor guy now had to talk to me. I told him we wanted something small that our Toyota Sport could haul. He immediately said he didn't have anything. Oh, well. Our car was literally parked next to a pop-up trailer like the one we use now, and I could see several other trailers that would have worked. We were camping in the area and needed a part for our 2003 Jamboree. We were referred to Reed's Trailer by another local auto parts shop, who described the staff there as very helpful. While they did not have the part we needed, the salesman did his best to refer us to other sources. On the next day my husband and I went back to look at their sales inventory and were helped by Dan Reed. While he and we knew that we weren't going to make a purchase, he spent considerable time with us talking about the various options for our future camping equipment. I'm going to give Reed's RV Sales five stars. This is the second trailer my wife and I have bought and the the difference between Reed's and the other place is night and day. From my first contact with Reed's (which was a phone call) to the time we drove the trailer away several days later we were impressed by every employee we came into contact with. From the boss man Dan, to the parts and service guys, the finance lady and even the "lot guys" who prep and wash the trailers, everyone there is interested in making the customer happy. We have visited many RV sales lots over the past couple of years and this one is THE top shop anywhere. Owner Dan Reed picked up the phone on my first call and instead of transferring me to another person in another department, he stayed on the phone with me explaining all the subjects for which I had questions. We were "trading up" to a fifth wheel trailer which was a bit larger than our pull trailer and I had a load of questions. Dan didn't let me down - he explained the main differences we would see and also helped me realize a good trade-in of our existing trailer. We spoke for quite a while and he even whittled the price a little and actually promised to hold the trailer for us until we could look at it even though I had not placed a down payment on it yet. We drove up and met the crew the next day and I was happy that I was going to get the trade-in amount he had quoted me and that the new fifth-wheel trailer was almost ready to go. We visited the finance department and we were well taken care of by Tammy, the money guru. She worked very hard to get the best deal for us. Rick helped us make an appointment to get the new trailer hitch installed in our truck so we drove up again a couple of days later and they installed the hitch. Everyone in the Service Department was very helpful and answered our questions about accessories that we purchased. While we waited for the hitch a young man named Edgar took us to the trailer and explained all the features then ran us through the procedures of using them all. We stayed at the lot and waited but we could have taken advantage of their offer to drop us at the nearby Factory Outlets or even the movie theater. There is a nice little store and produce mart next door for snacks and drinks. When the hitch was on Edgar returned and ran us through the hook-up and un-hook procedures, with the emphasis on the automatic leveler jacks and jacking procedures to get the hitch lined up with the trailer. He is a good teacher. So just a few short days after my first phone call, we drove away in the new "mini mansion." The whole experience was trouble-free and enjoyable. There was never any pressure and there was always the proper attention being given to us and our questions. We now have "new customer" status which gives us a break on parts and service prices and they also gave us free nights at a couple of RV parks on the Russian River nearby. He called said it fell out of financing and that he was in managers office seeing what they could do for us (2pm Tuesday). Never heard back. Called Wednesday, he had day off. Spoke to the manager who said he would make sure Guy called back. He never did. Crappy customer service. Bought a trailer elsewhere, cash. Their loss. Predatory sales. I went to Reed's based on recommendations that they are local and family owned. I didn't know anything about trailers and learned the hard way. I brought my Subaru Ascent Touring and told them I would tow with this vehicle across country Calif. To Virginia. I was sold a trailer I cannot tow with my car and they said it was Subaru's fault. After numerous calls to Dan Reed without a return call, I asked a friend to help me get it out of their yard and now having to sell on my own. They come off as the nicest people but have no interest in anyone's well-being....see other yelps and buy from someone else. read more

Update .....We've had our Lance 1995 model for almost a year now. Really like the trailer. Had a leak somewhere in the slide out or window area. Took it to Reeds service 3 times, finally they saw the leak. The fix, was a terrible caulking job around the window. Now this is under a full warranty. You would think a window replacement would have been the best fix, especially under warranty. Really unhappy with the caulking job and the fix overall. We'll be camping in the rain soon and that will be the true test. We were also told we would be invited to a Lance factory tour, that Lance in Lancaster. A great opportunity to see how the product is manufactured. That has not happened yet. E-mailed our salesman a few times on this. Hoping soon. read more

The sales department at Reeds were always helpful, kind, and cheerful, with a good sense of humor. Financing was a breeze. They got us an excellent rate and good terms, what more can you ask for? Once we got the trailer, which is when we shift from sales to service, and I have to say that the service department has been just as great. Rich is the service manager, immensely helpful, knowable and has shown me that they have a commitment to making things right. I have had to call the service center several times to ask questions, as I had managed to confuse myself (to many google searches) and they have been able to guild me in understanding how the technology works, in a most professional and kind manner. Spent 90 grand here on a brand new fifth wheel after the tubbs fire. Had no problem there but later on down the road when something inevitably breaks they won't even try and diagnose the problem over the phone for something as simple as a part number for a valve. But you can drag the whole trailer down to them and they'll look at it for a price. They don't stand behind what they sell and for that reason I highly recommend going elsewhere. We loved shopping at Reeds because they didn't do a hard sell while we were looking at a ton of different configurations. They opened everything up and left us alone which I appreciated. They were super kid friendly as well which was a requirement for us to be able to buy something. Things started to go downhill when we picked up the trailer. The "training" we got was mediocre. When we took the trailer out for the first time, we had no idea how to use it and had to figure it out on our own. We were also promised free camping that we never received. And lastly, I discovered that the 7 year loan that I requested was set up as a 10 year loan. Looked at travel trailers and 5th wheels, MIKE IS A HIGH PRESSURE SALESMAN who will say anything to get you to sign. He made several claims when we were looking at different models that really made me doubt him, until I started writing some of the stuff down. I later called the good folks at Montana and Cougar to find out he was full of crap. Needless to say, we haven't been back since. Before we started looking at a trailer, I had a need for some little bits and pieces for towing a work trailer. These guys are EXPENSIVE! I bought some stuff in their store, and didn't realize that I paid about 3 times the price of what I had seen the stuff at another shop. I bought a reducer for my trailer hitch to go from 2.5" down to 2", (just a piece of square tubing) realized when I got home it was $30!!!!! Its a 4" section of painted tubing! The second thing I bought was a hitch pin, which is flimsy, seems cheaply made, and uses very proprietary keys, and was also $35! I couldn't believe it and returned this stuff. I found better products elsewhere for less money. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more
