After the recent passing of my only sibling, my family and I debated on which funeral home to utilize. When I contacted the church my sister attended, the administrative assistant offered a suggestion. I was initially apprehensive because I figured there was a financial benefit for the church. I had also never heard of Reese Funeral Professionals but researched them and was satisfied with the online reviews. After setting up a meeting, I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival to learn that we would actually meet with the owner, Kevin Reese. What really took this meeting to another level was the realization that the owner and I had attended middle school together! It was a refreshing meeting to stroll down memory lane, as it helped to alleviate our grief. Even before we realized we were once schoolmates, Mr. Reese was very engaging, thorough and patient. Additionally, the package of what their services included was impressive and quite reasonable. My sister was only 48 when she passed in December 2022 but suffered from a great deal of medical issues, so her skin had developed a very rough appearance. In addition, her hair was extremely short and thin. She had suggested we purchase a short braided wig for her homegoing service, but the few I found appeared cheap and cheesy. We therefore entrusted Reese Funeral Professionals to make her naturally presentable, and their cosmetologist(s) did not disappoint. My sister's finished look was absolutely breathtaking! Her son and I were in tears during the final viewing at how beautiful she looked. Prayerfully I won't need the services of a funeral home again anytime soon. He walked us through the process, answered all questions we had and prepared us for the next steps. Dealing with a small private church cemetery we had a dilemma that Kevin and his team of professionals handled with confidence, ease, and little involvement from the family. The appearance of the body of our loved one was nothing short of impeccable! The attention to every little detail was considered--from the warmness of his face to the presentation of his clothing, to the precision of which the American flag was beautifully pleated and draped across the open casket. Another aspect of this process is the graveside service, it was beautifully setup and awaiting our arrival. The arrangements with the U.S. Marines for honors presentation was an element that RFP also executed on with precision. Additionally, their fleet of cars was immaculate which included escort service to/from the funeral services. Also offered as a part of doing business with them was a beautiful throw keepsake with our family members likeness woven into it. Reese Funeral Professionals masterfully partners with families to take charge of details that most of us are ill equipped to handle and brings forth a beautifully planned, meticulous service that all can be proud of. A co-worker had told me about Reese Funeral Professionals and how they did an excellent job on her cousin. They truly are the best. My father died unexpectedly and I didn't have any experience in how to arrange a funeral.I didn't know which way to go. I called Reese Funeral Professionals expecting to get an answering machine because it was so early in the morning and to my surprise Mr. Reese himself answered the phone. All I could say was my father just died and he took it from there. Their packages were simple and very straightforward. No hidden fees. The whole team was very empathetic, professional and sweet during the entire planning process. They held my hand the entire time. I highly recommend their Funeral Services. The employees were so helpful and understanding. The employees are wonderful and professional, the chapel is beautiful and there isn't any pressure. The body was done perfect. Reese Funeral Professionals really do stand behind their name. Mr. Reese was very professional in making the funeral arrangements for my grandmother. I'm so glad I decided to use them, although my family has used another funeral home in the past. I'm always hesitant about trying new things but I saw his work at another funeral which motivated my decision. When it was all said and done, I did not regret it. Any questions I had regarding anything I was unsure about he answered. Some of my questions may have been silly but he answered them and even when I called, he was very responsive, really appreciated that. The entire staff was professional, even when Mr. Reese wasn't available there was always someone on hand. When it came to my grandmother, she looked beautiful. I was very hesitant about doing a viewing but once my sister and I saw her, our family was confident in having an open casket. She looked like her young self, I don't know how Mr. Reese did that. Even the way her outfit was put together she looked very fashionable and classy. You could tell that Mr. Reese or whoever dressed her have a good sense of fashion. The day of, everything went as I hoped for from the time we were picked up until we were dropped back off. We received a lot of compliments about the funeral, from how my grandmother looked, the memorial blanket with her picture on it, which they had up during the funeral. To the releasing of the doves at the cemetery. Some people had never seen that at a funeral before. Just want to mention the blanket and doves were provided by the funeral home as well. Run in the other direction, I was told they would work with me and my family, then about a week later was called demanding payment and threats of going after family estate for payment. Promised doves to be released at service, and it was not done. After service was informed that Chaplan needed to be paid, however this was never discussed when making arrangements. I lost my husband suddenly on January 10, 2023. I was very hesitant as to what funeral home I would use for someone so important to me and my family. My children found Reese Funeral Professionals on line, while l was still hesitant in using their services, due to not really knowing or hearing anything regarding his company. UPDATE: After this review posted Reese has reached out to me making me whole in regards to the refund. On 6/11/19 I went to the funeral home and paid for flowers and 12 Death Certificates. I left the funeral home and called my mom to let her know that I had completed her request and what had transpired. She then informed me that she had already paid for six Death Certificates and I was to have picked them up and not pay for an additional 12 which she did not need. She then called Mr. Reese to let him know that I needed a refund for the unnecessary 12 Certificates. I have left several messages for Mr. Reese to which not one has been returned. It has been over two weeks and I have not received a return call a refund for the Death Certificates. He also told me at the time of my visit that he would be calling my mom the day before the service to let her know what time the limo would be picking her up. Well come the morning of the service she had not received a call so my mom called the funeral home and was informed that she had not paid for that service. I find this not only unacceptable but very unprofessional. read more
