I meant to write this review a lot sooner, but I had went in about two weeks ago to get a tattoo done with Dan. Luckily for me and my cousin he was able to accept our walk-in although i'm not too sure if they prefer appointments instead. He was super patient and helpful as far as figuring out placement and font since we didn't really have a set idea of what we wanted. He was very easygoing and chill to chat with and made the experience a lot smoother than expected especially for my first tattoo. All the paintings along the walls are his and was consistently open with his journey in art and his passion for it. He gave great tips for during the tattooing process and afterwards for the healing. Most definitely will be coming back for a second tattoo I 100% recommend coming here and working with Dan. read more

Bryan is my tattoo guy and I've have gone to him for years. He's super cool to talk to, really understanding, and just overall a great conversationalist. Even though we have major differences in opinion when we chat while I'm getting tattooed, he is the perfect reminder that people can differ in opinion and still honor and respect one another. Not to mention this dude is an amazing artist. He literally fixed mistakes another tattoo artist made and he did it so well that you can't even tell it's a cover. Also, should mention, I found him after consulting with three other artists who said a cover would be impossible. I feel pretty lucky to have found Bryan because I wont go to anyone else. Pretty important to note, what started out as a cover on my wrist, has turned into a full piece from my shoulder to my mid thigh because he made me feel safe, comfortable, and the art was so gorgeous. Let me just start off by saying this was my first tattoo. I know 3 people who have gone to Brian for their tattoos and I absolutely loved his work so I couldn't help but get mine done with him as well! He pays such amazing attention to detail and that's what really caught my eye. I sent him a (not so good) drawing of what I wanted to get done and asked him to do whatever he wanted with it. My first tattoo has many symbols: My Ohana (family) - My parents, sister and brother; The kai (ocean) and nalu (waves) because I he'e nalu (surf); I'a unahi (fish scales) and interlocking pa'aoloulu (palm leaves) for protection; An 'awe'awe (octopus arm) for strength and honor, et al. (Please take a look at my profile pics to see my shoulder piece and half-sleeve). There was a recent death in the family and I wanted to honor that person by getting a new tattoo. I chose the person's signature: "Kamehameha Style". For example, when King Kamehameha died he was so beloved that many Hawaiians got tattoos of Kamehameha's name on the inside of their bicep and forearm along with the date he died. I was glad I met Jasin, a local boy from Milalani Town, O'ahu at 24 Hour Fitness. Jasin has some serious tattoos. His arms are covered Maori style - basically jet black. He also has several pieces on his back, neck, face and legs. We talked about what my goal was and Jasin was very accommodating. He also had the challenge of fitting the sig on the inside of my right bicep - unfortunately my job forbids visible tattoos. Jasin did an excellent job. He showed me what it would look like on and off my body twice before he began the actual tattooing process. The shop was super clean and the gangsta rap playing in the background helped take my mind off the sound of the needle. During the process, I also found out that Jasin had a recent loss in his family. We shared our stories as he worked and afterwards we shared an Aloha and a puliki (hug). In the true spirit of Aloha, he tried to give me the tattoo as a gift to honor my recent loss. However, to pay respect to Jasin, I left him a fair amount of cash. I highly recommend this place. Jasin is a super nice guy and a very talented tattoo artist (he also paints). I am already talking to Jasin about my next piece. Aloha nui loa! read more

I would give 10 stars if I could. Jasin did my tattoos and I couldn't be happier with his work. I was looking for a shop to do a memorial tattoo for me after losing my son. I walked into the shop to see about making an appointment and right when I walked in the door, bursted into tears. Jasin and another gentlemen couldn't have been more kind as I broke down in the lobby, they were professional and compassionate. When I came back for my appointment on my sons birthday, Jasin was just amazing. I was nervous and emotional and he was patient and took his time. I'm a graphic designer, so it was very important to me to go to a great artist for my first tattoo. After seeing Alex Coulter's amazing work on Instagram, I knew it was time to go in - and he completely knocked it out of the park! I gave him a vague idea of what I wanted, and he had the sketch ready to go when I walked in. I was super nervous since it was my first tattoo, but Alex was super nice and reassuring, and I ended up having the greatest experience. I came in as a walk in and wanted a very minimalistic leaf tattoo and Hek greeted me and helped me create something custom and beautiful! The shop was very clean and professional. He was very respectful and patient with me in deciding what exactly I wanted, he was able to take elements from different photos I brought in and tailor it to me. He even explained what he was going to do when designing. He was very quick like 20 mins and had very good conversation with me to keep me distracted during the pain. After being told by 3 different people to come here, HB Tattoo and player's club, i decided to listen to the first person. I walked in a few days ago, knowing exactly what i wanted and even had a sketch for them to go off of. Jasin greeted me the minute i walked in. Even though he was busy, he still took the time to listen to me, AND squeeze me in his booked schedule. This was my first Tattoo. I was flippin scared but he had me laughing and just made me feel extremely comfortable. This Tattoo has so much meaning behind it, he took my crappy sketch and turned it into amazing art. He help release the pain for the loss of a family member with out even having the knowledge he was doing so. Jasin is awesome, a true ninja! Just got a tattoo here yesterday. This place is awesome!! I really didn't have any intension of getting a tattoo that day, although I've had something in mind for a very long time. I began my day getting a haircut next door at Legacy Barber Shop. I've had my eye on The Tattoo Gallery for some time. It looks very nice from the outside. on my way home I kept thinking "damn I really should just go ahead and get the tattoo I've been wanting for so long." When I got home the first thing I did was look them up on Yelp and read some reviews. the reviews are excellent and everyone seemed to be very satisfied with there work. I can definitely see why that is now! I fist called and asked if they except walk ins, they said yes and that there is no pressure to make any decision on the spot. that made me feel comfortable. when i got there i was impressed on how well kept and clean the place was. Jasin aproched me and asked me if i had any questions or if i had anything in mind. i showed him the picture of the melting record i brought with me. he gave me a quote but did not build any urgency as to getting it done right away. i asked if i could see some of his work. i took a look at his black book and after seeing his talent decided to stop procrastinating and went ahead and told him lets do it. Before we started I told Jasin I'm gonna run to the gas station and grab a drink first. He asked me if i could grab him a redbull and gave me $10 and said not to worry that he would cover my drink also. I thought that was an awesome gesture! We got started and talked the whole time. not akward conversation either. this dude is genuinely friendly and we shared stories about our past and whatnot. I told him I was a dj and obviously that's why I'm getting the melting record. When we took a break he went to the back and brought out a old Beastie Boys-Frozen Metal Head album and gave it to me! I thought that was awesome! Its actually a pretty rare EP. anyhow the work came out awesome and i was 100% satisfied with not only the work, but how friendly the entire staff was. This review is long over due, I've been coming to see Dan for several years now and currently have 3 tattoos I treasure and cherish. I feel so grateful to have found this shop because the quality, care, and honest artists make it very unique and respected. From the start Dan has always been excellent at communication and honesty on what he is doing but also how things work. He was able to tell me what worked and did not work for my skin tone and placements. I feel this is incredibly important as some artists will have little regard to you specifically and will tattoo anywhere, with any color. I have very light, sensitive skin so he's always given his best advice with taking longer breaks in between sessions and has always been fantastic in not overworking the tattoo. My first two tattoos were medium in size and feature artwork by an anime style artist. he was able to cleanly do the artwork with impeccable line work and vivid color. My first tattoo I unknowingly picked a VERY sensitive area, my lower right hip. He advised me how to control my breathing and would walk me through before attempting certain areas as it was important I stayed still. I can handle a lot pain but I know certain areas had to be a challenge for him. Even through that all of line work was and is perfect! You can view the photos below for reference. The one with the cat is the tattoo I'm referring. Second tattoo was another piece by the same artist, again he was able to recreate it and give me EXACTLY what I had wanted and expected. The artist herself has seen my pieces and was thrilled so that was definitely reassurance on how well they turned out. My third tattoo is by far the most beautiful piece I have and was definitely a challenge for Dan. The painting we recreated is a piece by Camilla d' errico. She has a very soft approach on her paintings with minimal to no outlining. It was crucial that if I did this, it would mimic this soft approach and would really give this painting the beauty and respect it needed. Dan was able to completely recreate this in layers and rather than outlining it he developed his own approach to mimic her work. To this day I receive endless comments, questions and admiration for this piece. I truly believe that he is one of the few artists in the world that could have accomplished this. Not only is it beautiful, it will last and continue to be admired! I'd also like to note the cleanliness of this shop and its stations is absolutely IMPECCABLE. this is absolutely crucial as I've heard so many horror stories from other friends at other shops. Even the bathroom is remodeled and clean. Clean needles and equipment are always laid out and prepared in front of me ensuring that I know these are new, sterile tools. Dan has taken this very serious from the beginning and has even launched his own company "rinse cup" to eliminate and prevent the contamination of accidental mishaps with the rinse cup used during your session. If that doesn't prove that you are truly in great hands for cleanliness and safety, I don't know what will! read more
