This is long overdue, but I wanted to review Lowrider today now that my tattoo has fully healed. I got my tat on 10/13/2017. I've never had one done before, so when I saw flyers going around social media about "flash tattoos" starting at $20 on Friday the 13th, I decided why not! The event started right at 11:00 as it would open normally, so I decided to show up around 10:30 since I heard the lines could get pretty crazy. I noticed only one guy waiting outside, but plenty of people sitting and waiting in their cars. Once the doors were open for business, you sign-in on the clipboard to hold your place in line. Along the whole front desk they laid out pages and pages of little pre-drawn tattoos for you to pick, along with the tattoo designer and price stated next to it. And you want to come early because there's only one of each kind, so the later you come the more limited choices you have! I opted for the rose tattoo designed by Danny. The next available artist is the person that does your work, regardless of the tattoo designer. I got Carlos!! (I'm pretty sure that's his name, sorry it's been a long time). He was really nice and explained to me an overview of the waiver. Once I had everything signed, I was free to wait in the lobby area while everything was getting set up. The place looked very clean and professional btw, and I'm glad it was pretty roomy compared to other tattoo shops I've seen. Okay, the section that all the tattoo newbies are waiting for-- the pain. So the tattoo process first began with cleaning the surface. Carlos was really friendly throughout the whole process and very understanding since he knew it was my first time. Yeah everyone always talks about how a tattoo is permanent, it's gonna hurt, yadayadayada.. but it wasn't until the needle started going into my skin that I was like omg what am I doing. I'd say I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but um yeah it hurt!! It wasn't super painful or anything, but since so many people told me "oh yeah it doesn't hurt at all," the pricking into my skin was more irritating than I was anticipating. Of course this will be different for everyone, but if you're like me then it'll be bearable but you won't be able to wait til it's all over. I'm just glad Carlos was really efficient and finished my approximately 1 x 2 1/2 inch piece in like 20 minutes. And I might be a wuss since the tat I got was so small, but I'd rather get all my 7 piercings again than be one of those people getting pricked for 5 hours. After it's all done they'll give you a small paper about how to take care of your new tattoo. They recommended that I go to my local drugstore and get Aquaphor (around $5) and Lubriderm (around $7). I had a really great experience here, and I'd totally recommend it to anyone to get a new piece done or their first tattoo. I can see myself coming back here if I want to get any other work done. Sadly enough, not what I expected. I have read good things about this place and thought I would be lucky enough to get a clean set of "Dots" (yes, just three dots) and that wasn't accomplished. The dots where not "dots", as in perfect circles and one even faded. I tried going back to get it fixed but I was told no one could help me. Regardless of when it is, (meaning time or day) I think it should have been address or even showed importance in customer service. Also, if I am going to be tattooed by an Apprentice, I would appreciate being told. I ended up having to drive down the road to find another place to fix their mistake and ended up finding by far the best customer service and one who fixed the problem with ease and in just a few minutes.
