I was so afraid of how my mother would look, the makeup done for her made her look like snow white resting. She was so at peace and it gave me tremendous closure and comfort to see her looking so beautiful after looking so sick at the hospital. Every detail of her services, we're touched with pieces of the ocean. I had mentioned to the owner how my mother loved the sea, when we walked in to her services it was a beautiful seascape, I was so blown away at the details, there were little sand bottles with her name, handprinted on them. These keepsakes are still in my living room, and I treasure them. I didn't have to do anything they helped withb all the details down to organizing our food in a buffett style. They provided an easel and huge picture of her, so when you walked in, you saw her beautiful face smiling. All I had to do was send in my photos, and they were printed and framed all throughout reception. They allowed us to put a playlist of her favorite music together and played it throughout the venue. There were tv's playing her picture video memorial. The memorial cards they printed on a nice quality photo paper, and I was able to choose several pictures to go on the back which helped me include all of my family I'm so thankful God led me to this venue. During intake, I explained that I live in a different county and have two small children, making travel difficult. I was told the company would retrieve my mother's belongings from the coroner's office when they picked her up, and that they would hand-deliver her ashes to me directly. Both of these were major reasons I chose them over other options. Neither happened as promised. On the day she was picked up, I received no final confirmation. I had to call multiple times, text, and leave voicemails just to get confirmation the next day that she'd been picked up -- and that they had not retrieved her belongings as agreed. I ended up having to make a 4-hour round trip myself to collect them. Weeks later, I got a call saying they actually couldn't cross county lines to deliver her to me after all. My options were to drive back myself or have her shipped. I chose shipping, and she was left sitting outside in the sun, I didn't even have to sign for delivery. Throughout this, I spoke with several different staff members, and no one seemed to have a clear picture of what had gone wrong or what had already been communicated. I received little acknowledgment of how badly this was handled, and no offer of any refund or compensation. I was told "not sure why we didn't get her things". When I explained they also knew I lived in a different county from the start and I was never told about crossing county lines, I was brushed off. This is one of the most sensitive services a family will ever need, and it deserves careful, consistent communication. I did not get that here, and I would not recommend this company.
