By hiring them for their full wedding package we were able to receive both event planning and design assistance to tie all of the aspects of our wedding together. They helped us with so many items from venue selection, day of timeline, rehearsal, decor, vendor meetings, the list goes on. April is extremely organized, which kept us on track with monthly meetings ensuring each big ticket item was taken care of at just the right time. She was able to work with our budget and recommend vendors within our price point (which is one of the best benefits of hiring a planner!) They have GREAT referrals and we were so happy with the musician/dj, videographer, and florist they recommended. Having a team of people who know each other on the big day, just made things flow effortlessly. By going with their full package it really allowed us to focus on us the week before wedding and really reduce all of the stress associated with contacting/organizing vendors leading up to the event. April was easy to communicate with throughout the entire process and made sure I was cool, calm and collected...and eating enough throughout the day of the wedding knowing that it was going to be a long and busy day. April and Jessica seriously had magic pixie dust sprinkled on their fingers because they did such an amazing job setting everything up. WORST EXPERIENCE!…read more Their violinist canceled on us two weeks before our wedding day!!! They had a contract with us for 8 months and acted like it was meaningless. The violinist booked another job shortly after our contract was signed in Jan and never told us for 8 months until Aug!! She tried to pass off her friend to fill in for her but her friend was a rock and roll singer/violist and it was not at all comparable to the vibe we wanted for our ceremony. The violinist said the other job paid more and that it was her 'breadwinner'. It was extremely hard to get a hold of the performer during the contract and The owner refused to pay for the difference to book another musician. The only reason we even found out was because I reached out to the performer and manager to send our ceremony songs and she replied saying she had another job booked!!! This place is a joke. They put an extreme amount of stress on my family and I canceling this late before our wedding. Thankfully I found someone to fill our wedding date on the side but the owner would not pay or contribute to the new cost. The owner also went black for 3 days w/o communication to us. It was an absolute nightmare!!!! They also had employees leave the company during our experience with them changing around our point of contact. Untrustworthy. Unprofessional. Unreliable. Poor business management.

We "interviewed" her by hiring her to do our engagement photos (at a VERY reasonable price), and liked her so much we chose her to do our wedding photos too! She is punctual and prepared, and likes for the photos to look natural- no awkward posey-posing. She lets you go with the flow with minimal direction. We liked that she wasn't bossy, she just would say, "Just hold hands and walk over there" or "Okay now kiss!" or "You are kind of doing a weird thing with your hand. Maybe try putting it in your pocket? Yes! Perfect!" "Now would you like to do a funny face one?" She is warm and fun and funny and made us feel comfortable during our shoots. I have worked with other wedding photographers before when I was in the industry, and I can tell which ones are in it for the money (little personality, bossy, borderline rude), and who does it for the beauty and art of it. Amy definitely loves what she is doing, and makes you feel her love and comfort from the other side of the lens. She was very patient on our wedding day when everything was behind schedule, and she captured so many sweet moments. Half the time I didn't notice she was there- sneaky ninja skills! She gave us a "sneak peek" of our images on her Facebook page right away both times, and mailed us a USB with all of our edited photos (there were LOTS of them, y'all!) when they were ready. And - I am so honored to say, we were their first guests! Being a wife, mother of two grown children, and grandmother to 4 littles, I spend a lot of time with our family. These days, with my grandchildren ranging from 2-7 years old, that time isn't always spent focused on the adults in the family (do we even remember how to have an adult conversation? LOL). So, I wanted to do something special for my husband, our children, and their spouses. My idea was to celebrate "just because"!We are winegrape farmers and winemakers; having just finished our harvest for the year! There are no birthdays or anniversaries in our immediate family in October. And we hadn't hit the holiday season yet. So this truly was just because. Happy to have harvest season behind me, in choosing our "theme" of the picnic, I requested an emphasis on Autumn. Our setting was my daughter's backyard. GARDENIA PICNIC transformed it into a magical, Fall setting; with Autumn colors, and foods - including a gorgeous autumnal themed cake! Yum!! The decor was exquisite; down to the small details. Everything was thought out thoroughly and placed perfectly. Being a "picnic", and not a full-blown traditional meal, the foods were appropriate to that, and in very generous proportions. The menu offers a nice variety of items, and we all enjoyed the selections tremendously! We were blown away by the beauty and thoughtful touches of our picnic! GARDENIA PICNIC pays attention to detail. They will absolutely do their utmost to make your picnic a perfect party; whether it's just the two of you, or a special accommodation for 6, as we were. I turned to Calli…read morebecause I had been trying to book my engagement session with my actual wedding photographer but being unable to figure out a date due because of crazy schedules. I called around and Calli answered the phone and I decided to go with her because of how fun she was on the phone. She had tons of energy, was excited to shoot at our location (diversey harbor) and was also flexible with scheduling. Everything from there was awesome. We ended up switching our shoot date at the last minute because of the hot temps and I was so glad she offered us that. On the day of the shoot she got to our location an hour early so she could scope it out. When we got there we got started with some of her ideas and then we periodically threw in some of our own. She was so flexible. The entire time she was so excited about the pictures, moments she was catching and she just kept coming up with awesome ideas for shots. She didn't out any limits on the number of poses or places we shot at and just kept building off of each idea. She posted our photos about 48 hours after the shoot (talk about timing!). We love them and have gotten TONS of compliments. Now the tough part will be deciding which ones we want to print and frame. Calli is a fun, energetic and creative photographer. If this is the type of photographer you are looking for you won't go wrong with her.

Calli is absolutely amazing!! I can't emphasize it enough. I appreciated that she was so punctual and really stuck to the timeline. Our wedding experienced 25-40 mph winds! It was definitely unexpected and of course as the bride, I was slightly bummed about Mother Nature taking a turn on me. Calli was so helpful and her positive energy really kept my spirits up! There were moments I was feeling frustrated because my hair was all over my face but she would quickly turn it around and change our direction or find spots by buildings to block the wind. I am so grateful I hired her to capture the day. The wind storm ended up being a wedding punch line and my husband and I are absolutely in love with our sneak peek photos.
