The office staff always greets me and is very pleasant. Eyes are very important to me and I have complete confidence in this doctor and the doctors she has referred me and my family over the years. My husband has a serious condition and was referred to an excellent specialist. My elderly mom also has a serious eye condition and was referred to excellent specialists. Sue has been helping me choose frames that are both attractive and comfortable. She accurately measures and fits the glasses. I love this office. I can't understand the negative reviews. Sometimes you get the attitude you give. No one has ever been rude to me. Only time I was referred to another doctor was when my family or I needed care this office could not provide.

I know I do (I pay for it each month) and so made some phone calls to ensure I was still covered. When I came back to the desk the secretary and I were talking just to clarify the issue. During our conversation I could hear Dr. Rubsam answering my questions, but from what I assume was his office? I couldn't see him ... he was in another room... I'm not sure if he knew I could hear him? Ultimately the secretary told me that Dr. Rubsam did not take my insurance - no problem! I understand our health care system doesn't always work the way we expect. I was willing to pay out of pocket the $175 for the appointment. When I asked if I could still be seen today I heard from Dr. Rubsam in his office again who was screaming "NO!! GOODBYE!!" - I wish I was exaggerating... I can't believe that a medical professional would treat someone like this - I was not rude or aggressive. I was just asking questions. Ultimately, I'm glad they do not take my insurance and was not seen by this individual who did not have the decency to even come out of his office to speak with him but instead scream GOODBYE from behind a wall. I have previously worked in doctor's office. I couldn't imagine a professional person acting like this. I would not recommend Dr. Rubsam as his "bed side manner" is deplorable.

I set up a 3 way conversation with Medicare & Pam & Medicare told her they will pay because I'm a diabetic. Pam insisted that Medicare won't pay for the eye refraction. I left & went to another Eye Doctor & I was told that Medicare does pay for Diabetics. I am so happy I made the change.

When I first called, I was told that they need 2-3 weeks to process a referral, and then when I finally reached them (10 phone calls later), they're booked out 6 weeks. If I could leave -0- stars I would. This has to be one of the most inept medical practices in CT, and I'm ashamed that they're part of the Yale network!
