I am in my 50's and was recently diagnosed with a cataract in my left eye. My vision was getting so…read morebad that it was affecting many areas in my life, especially driving, not to mention how scary it is to lose your vision in one of your eyes. A friend gave an extremely good recommendation for Dr. Mandava, saying that she would put her life in his hands. After going through an operation that has restored my vision, I must say that I must echo that praise. For me, this situation gave me great anxiety, with all of the decisions that needed to be made, and not knowing which way was the right course. Dr. Mandava immediately eased my anxiety through his calm demeanor and great knowledge, reassuring me and guiding me through the important decisions that were necessary to correct my vision. He also said, since the early onset of the cataract was likely due to a very old sports injury, my surgery would be a little more tricky than most, but explained all the risks in a confident and thoughtful manner. When it came time for the surgery, the entire staff at Greenwich Outpatient Hospital was friendly and professional, and made the whole procedure almost enjoyable. And Dr. Mandava was a masterful surgeon, completely rectifying my problem in a matter of minutes. I am so pleased with the results and am so glad that I listened to our friend, and similarly would give the highest recommendation to Dr. Mandava and and the staff at Greenwich Ophthalmology. David

Unfortunately, I had Lasik surgery, and paid top price for it. I was hoping I could stop wearing…read moreglasses after the surgery but now I have to wear 2 sets of glasses. I refer to the experience/procedure as a 100% fail. I'm not blind but I really do not like having to wear glasses and now I have to wear 2. A particularly annoying outcome of the Lasik surgery is that I used to be a pretty good clay pigeon shooter and now I'm below average at best. This was 100% caused by the eye surgery as the Dr. purposely made each eye different from the other. One eye was for short distances and the other for long distances. In nature both eyes are very similar and when shooting the shooter sees one target. With the Lasik I now see 2 targets. It totally screwed up my shooting.

I had an awesome experience with TLC, from setting up the initial consultation all the way through…read morethe procedure! Scheduling consultation: I noticed there was a feature online that allowed me to schedule a consultation through the website which I found to be helpful. Picked a time and date, and was all set. Unfortunately received a call from TLC shortly after saying that day was not available so they helped me find a different one that worked. I had a few questions that the call center couldn't help me with, so they were able to transfer me directly to the center I would be going to. I believe I spoke to Jennifer on the phone, and she was AWESOME. Very informative and thorough to make sure i knew what to expect for the consultation. She gave me the center's number so I could call them directly if I had any additional questions. Consultation: The office was not hard to find, parking was okay but that's completely out of their control. The staff is incredibly friendly. The office itself was very clean, bright, and welcoming. They also have Fixer Upper playing on all of the TV's so that's a major win for me. After I filled out initial paperwork, I was brought to the back to have scans taken of my eyes. I met with the tech, John, who is so funny! It was nice talking to everyone while they got the information they needed for my eyes. After all of the scans and learning that I was a good candidate for LASIK, I met with Julie (i think) who went over all of the technical details like scheduling a procedure date, financing, and a brief overview of post-op care. I had my pre-op appointment with my regular eye doctor about two weeks later (roughly 6 weeks before the procedure) and everything was all set. Procedure: Due to a scheduling issue, my procedure was moved up a week earlier than expected! But TLC was so accommodating to the time wanted to come in and made it work perfectly. The morning of, I went in, signed the paperwork, took some last eye scans, took the Valium they gave me, and watched Fixer Upper for 15 minutes while I waited for it to kick in. The staff checked in on me to make sure i was good, and then they prepped me to go into the surgical suite! Music was playing which helped me kind of time the whole procedure. I think we got through one song, and barely finished the second when they said it as all done. Like simple as that. What I loved was that nothing they did was unexpected. They told me when they were putting drops in, when I would feel a lot of pressure on an eye, when I wouldn't be able to see out of an eye for a minute, and when I would smell the burning scent. I had been warned about that part, and one of the staff was really helpful by counting down from 10 so that I knew when the smell would go away. After procedure: they looked at my eyes through the microscope one last time to make sure everything was good, put my first round of eye drops in, put the eye shields on me, and had me rest for about 20 minutes before telling me I was good to go. I truly couldn't have had a better experience, and am so glad I chose TLC for my LASIK!

I knew I was going to drop some change pretty hard when I needed new contacts. One of the things I…read moreappreciated most about TotalVision was that the group here is very transparent about costs from the minute you get in. In fact, there are 5 different tiers of contact pricing, so that helped me figure out what would fit me best. In addition, they let me try a certain type of contacts for 4 days and come back in to determine if it was a good fit and feel for me. That little gesture really helped solidify my confidence and eased the pain of the cost. Dr. Lindower was very kind and efficient without making me feel rushed. The other two people working here who helped during my appointment - I forget their names! - were also very nice. You could tell they do the same sequence with most of their patients, but I felt cared for and not just another paying customer. They answered my questions along the way and were very descriptive about what a certain test or a certain liquid was for. It was a little challenging getting a first-time appointment, but there was a lot more flexibility for the follow-up appointment. Definitely call with a bunch of time leeway in mind. I'd definitely recommend TotalVision.
