* Since I've written this review the owner has responded. Just for the record this review is NOT about her policies but about her attitude, lack of respect and overall unprofessionalism. I'm not a one star kind of girl but this was by far the WORST experience I have ever had with any business. I have never felt so disrespected, belittled or discriminated against. I don't know if she's racist or just an awful person to select people. I've had digestive issues since I was a teenager and they got increasingly worst as I've gotten older. I eat a clean diet vegetarian, dairy free, mostly gluten-free diet. Yet I still have some lingering issues. Wendy was referred to me about a year ago by a fellow yogi. Months later I saw she had a groupon so I thought it would be a great time to try it out. I booked my appointment online, downloaded the new patient forms and printed out my groupon. I even did the 3 days of carrot juice before my procedure. I was ready! The day of my appointment I was super excited to hopefully put an end to my digestive issues. I arrived 10 minutes early so I sat in my car for 5 minutes to finish up an email. I walked in the door and the first thing out of Wendy's mouth was "I was just GETTING READY to cancel your appointment!" Wait what?!?! She rambled on about how she sent me an email and I disrespected her by not getting back to her. I was so shocked! I checked my email...nothing was there. I then check my Spam Firewall (a place where emails with no subject or appear to be spam go, it's completely separate form my email) and her emails were there one w/o a subject and one w/ a vague subject. I apologized to her and asked if she tried calling me, which as a business owner is the next logical step. She said "Well didn't you book online? Why would I call you?" WOW! Unbelievable. As an owner of 2 businesses myself, I make an effort to get in contact with my customers by any means necessary. She also stated that she was too busy to call customers. She then decided to further insult me by asking "Well didn't you think that you would need to receive some kind of paperwork?" Ummm yea, I downloaded it from your website and filled it out. I came fully prepared for my appointment. I kept my cool but I was livid. I told her that she was very unprofessional and rude and I wasn't comfortable being in her presence and left. She called me shortly after I left and hung up. She called back about 45 minutes later and left a message to somewhat apologize and try to "make things right". She was so wrong, that there was nothing she could do to make the situation right. She's awful. Now I'm stuck with a groupon that I'll never use. I understand policies and that they are put in place for a reason. I would have gladly rescheduled considering her emails we're stuck in my spam (because they had vague or no subject line) but she addressed me in such a condescending and disrespectful way that there was no turing back. I have Digestive problems when it comes to food, I always wondered why I was always going to bathroom so much in one day. I went through doctors and they thought it was cause I'm lactose intolerant or as the last doctor said, "Its all in your Head". That did it, it ticked me off. So a friend of mine told me about Refresh your Soul, I was so nervous, but after the procedure I felt so much better!! Wendy Sebastian has changed my life and the more I go the better I feel and with diet as I now know I have a Gluten allergy, I can be free of the so many trips to the bathroom. Was not happy with the service. She Made important phone calls to landlord during my session. Was on a conference call during my appt time and took me in 15 mins late. In the middle of my session her neighbor walked in her office in the waiting room and she opened the door to address her complaint. I was undressed and the whole experience was soooooo uncomfortable and so unprofessional. I will not go back and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Trustworthy. Professional. Knowledgeable. I initially started going to see Wendy for hydrotherapy with a Groupon, had always wanted to try it out. She has put a lot of effort, and continues to make improvements on making her space inviting, comfortable, and relaxing. The first experience, she was very thorough and patient, explained the procedure, helped me feel comfortable and understand what was going on. She is very knowledgeable, a great resource to discuss the relationship of the intestines/digestion to diet/nutrition, lifestyle, as well as to mental/emotional state. It is now almost 3 years of regular monthly visits, which I really look forward to, for both the conversation as well as the colon cleansing! Wendy truly cares about her clients and is passionate about her practice. She has been a great listener and is also always willing to offer her personal opinion or professional advice. She is always honest and real, which I really appreciate about her. I highly recommend to those new to hydrotherapy to follow through with her advice and stick it out for several consecutive sessions until your colon is all the way cleared out. It makes such a difference, and through that I got used to the slight discomfort, and got to know Wendy more, which made the decision to return regularly an easy one. read more

I have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. I purchased a package of 2 colon hydrotherapy sessions on Groupon last night and immediately went to Wendy's website to book my first appointment. I was happy to see an opening at 12:30 today, so I booked that time. Or so I thought. After I selected my appointment time, I was forwarded to another link to fill out the new client intake form. I completed and submitted the form. I went in for my appointment today at 12:30. I walked in and since no one greeted me, I said, "Hello?". A woman said "hello" from the office on the right. I said, "Are you Wendy?" She said she was. I said "Hi I'm Hannah". She asked "Did you have an appointment?" I said, "Yes, at 12:30." She said she didn't have anyone on her schedule for that time. I said "Oh no, really? I booked it online last night". She asked if I got an email confirmation. I said "no, and I actually thought that was odd, but I didn't think it meant I wasn't scheduled, because I was sent to the intake form that I completed." She said it wasn't possible for me to have booked the appointment, because she doesn't book less than 24 hours before the time of the appointment. I said "that's odd then that it showed up as an available time, even if it hadn't allowed me to make the appointment". I asked if her website had some kind of disclaimer that I had missed. She said "no, but it doesn't matter, because my clients know that I have this policy"... I'm thinking, 'how the hell would a NEW client know that?' I told her it was a bummer *lol no pun intended* because I had driven 30 minutes to get to the appointment and had no idea it hadn't booked. She said the slot was available, but she had decided to set that time aside for marketing. She said she could get me booked for another day, but her tone and facial expressions of being annoyed with ME were enough to make me never want to set foot in there again. I was patient and kind and she was coming off harsh and aggressive with zero understanding. No apology. No empathy. I am ALL for setting boundaries, and it seemed like maybe that's what she was trying to practice??? But when you are a business owner, you need to treat potential long term clients with more consideration. Otherwise, why are you wasting your time taking these Groupon clients at all? From the other reviews, it seems like you don't treat these clients well at all. It looks like I actually dodged a bullet. Thank God Groupon refunded me immediately. read more

I have tried other colonic therapists in the area and never really felt a positive impact until I found Wendy/Refresh Your Soul. I see Wendy monthly and it's something I look forward to each month. This is Wendy's calling--she knows it and it shows with every visit. Wendy has such passion for colon hydrotherapy and she strives to provide the best experience for all her clients. Although I've always had a great experience each visit, I've seen the other "not so favorable" reviews and I know Wendy takes the feedback to heart and learns from it so she can do better. I had an appointment in 2015 with RYS and never left a review because I didn't want the whole world to know I needed these services. But after doing some research on the topic tonight, I stumbled upon this yelp page and it alllllll came back to me. I was 23 when I went to Wendy and had always struggled with severe constipation. I finally had a little money to seek some help. I had heard about colonics therapy through a friend and wanted to give it a try. I'm giving this review 2 starts because the interaction I had with Wendy was truly awful, but the services she provided worked and I haven't really had any problems since (haven't had another colonics session since, just this one). Wendy was just incredibly rude. I had no idea what to expect since I'd never done something like this before, so I was very nervous. She made me cry because she told me I was going to get colon cancer if I "didn't stop eating like shit". While that may be true, that's not how you should go about it. She then asked me condescendingly, "why are you crying!?" Uhhhh because you just told I'm going to die from cancer. She seemed so annoyed with me because I got emotional. This person has zero (ZERO) bedside manner. Do not be in health care, in any capacity, if you don't like people or comforting them when they're scared. After the horribly uncomfortable session, she then carted me into her office and tried to get me to commit to 9 more session on $90 a pop, stating that was the only way my colon would be healthy again, and she wanted me to buy her extremely expensive probiotics and supplements......... lady, I'm a young kid in their 20s. I could barely afford to make rent at the time, let alone buy into your probiotics pyramid scheme. Colonics is a great therapy and really can help, but I strongly urge you to find someone else. Someone who actually cares about people and their wellbeing. Don't go to RYS. She'll just tell you you're going to get colon cancer and die. read more

I purchased this service with groupon and unfortunately now I have wasted my money. I originally booked online like it asks you to do. The morning of my appointment Wendy calls to tell my there was a glitch in her system and my time slot was double booked with accustomed that is a regular at the same time every week. I told her no problem I would reschedule even though I make my work schedule 19 days in advance. She acted as though I was inconveniencing her when I said no to the very few time slots she had. Finally we found a day and time. I arrived to my appt today 10 min early. I knocked on the door and no response. Turned the handle and it was locked. I went back to my car for about 10 minutes. I did not see anyone go in or out. I called and received no response. I went back to try to enter again and nothing. The ladies in the salon next door probably thought I was crazy. Anyways the whole situation is completely unprofessional and I'm disappointed I wasted my money! read more

Well I purchased a Groupon, and I wish that I had been able to use it. After purchasing it late last night, I went online to schedule an appointment. I wasn't able to because i didn't see the Groupon option. I called today to schedule an appointment and explained to her that I had been trying to do it online. She attempts to walk me through finding the Groupon option, and I could hear the frustration in her voice. It took maybe 60 seconds, and I was able to locate it. I apologized for not better understanding or seeing where the option was prior to calling. She proceeded to say, " it's okay, most people just don't read directions". I felt insulted, because I did read the instructions. For someone that needs clients, she sure wasn't very professional. I went online and cancelled my Groupon immediately, because i just might loose my cool if she talks that way to me in person. She should get training in customer service. read more

This is the first 1 star rated Yelp that I have ever written and I have been active since 08... Wendy definitely needs to work on her people skills. I felt as though she looked at me as if I was beneath her because I'm not skinny or perhaps it's because I'm black hmmmmm lol She's a B**** seriously, she doesn't explain everything in detail like leave your clothes in the bathroom then after you are finished be sure to exit via the other bathroom door which leads to her office but she has a way of making you feel like you are stupid and she pulled that time Frame BS with me as well (mentioned via another review) even though I arrived promptly with my paperwork filled out she had another client who ran over into my time but I didn't care it wasn't a big deal until she RUDELY reentered the room telling me I was over my time frame but I was lucky that the other client didn't show up! WTF? Then she gave me instructions Of what to do after my visit and she flat out told me my visit was a waste of time for both of us because my tummy was really uncomfortable ... I couldn't believe it And after all of the drama I was still going to purchase some of her retail products that she recommended upon me asking her if she accepted my HSA account she brushed me off .. Not knowing that I had plenty money to spend with her and I'm a Entrepreness myself so I try to shop and contribute locally but she clearly wouldn't get another penny from me!
