I like this movie theater. I've been visiting this Regal Cinema location since I was a child (back when it was a Carmike, that is), and have always been pleased. I have only good things to say about it: friendly staff; a logical layout; a clean, handsomely decorated building; plenty of parking; many screens to choose from; digital projection and 3D showings. The last time I was there, one thing that I liked in particular was my seat, which I found oddly comfortable (it might've just been especially accommodating to my back). I've never had any problems with the theater. Though I don't see many movies, Regal of Boone is where I go to see them, and will continue to do so in the future. Place is pretty gross and cold over all but it's your only option in Boone for a modern movie theater. If you want a better THEATER experience go to the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country. read more

For the only movie theater in town this has to do. It's not the best or worst theater I've been to. The staff is always friendly and the concessions are ok. It would be nice to see them update their interior. For $10 a movie I would expect a nicer place to sit. If you don't update it then reduce the cost of a movie. read more

Love, love, love this theater! It's a pretty small theater so not many movies are showed at a time, (4-5) but I don't mind since its a small town. The staff have always been extremely friendly. The bathrooms are clean. (I got stuck in one of the stalls once but it was hilarious) All in all a fun place to go, especially late at night :) read more

Only here because of Avengers: Endgame! Plus, it's the only local theatre in the area. I am shocked that this is a Regal establishment. I'm from the D.C./Maryland area and the Regal Cinemas there are all modern (updated to the max), crazy comfortable reclining seats, and decent discounts on matinee tickets. I strongly recommend that Regal look into requiring stricter standards before slapping their name on a small movie theatre. Regal Cinemas like AMC has an expectation to uphold. I have yet to go to an AMC that disappointed me. I also feel the locals are being taken advantage of by this... I didn't mind the overpriced cost for food and beverages because that is to be expected anywhere. Staff was decent. Biggest suggestion is to update the sound systems, chairs, and screens. This is 2019. Regal Cinemas stands for something more than is displayed at this theatre. read more

DO NOT GO HERE TO WATCH A 3D MOVIE!!!!! Me and my boyfriend went and payed $60 for the both of us, tickets and all. We ended up having to leave EARLY, which I would never do especially for a $60 movie experience. The glasses are so terrible here that they provide, the movie was so blurry with and without them on. We couldn't even make out the faces in the movie. So if you are looking to watch a 3D movie, don't go to Boone Regal Theater. read more

The staff were pleasant on our recent visit. Granted, it was for a 10:35am matinee on a Monday so we weren't exactly competing for their attention. They are a Regal location, so be sure to get (and use) the rewards card to score treats like free popcorn, $2 off candy and even the occasional free movie ticket! Unfortunately, as other reviewers have noted, the perks stop there. The seats are incredibly uncomfortable. No recline and the back doesn't come up far enough. It stoped just above my shoulder and I'm not a tall gal. So, you can't lean your head back at all. Picture/screen and sound were decent. But again, we went to a Monday morning matinee so we weren't competing with neighboring theatre's soundtracks or even other moviegoers chit chat in our theatre. Bathrooms were basic but clean. I love this theater. I used to not, coming from a larger city with better movie theater options, but now I like it, and now that I'm not close by, I miss it. It is a small and simple theater. It's the only one in the town and nearby area. It's prices are comparable to other theaters around America, maybe a little cheaper. I've only ever ordered popcorn and soda/Icees, but each time they are good. There's only a few movies showing at a time. The seats are not elevated, so that is something to get used to if you've never been to a cinema like this. It has an "old timey" vibe in that manner, and I've grown to quite like it. There's usually always a police officer sitting in the lobby I suppose as an added form of protection. Overall, I like this place and miss it and wish I could go see a movie there right this instant! read more

Regal Is a company hell bent on profits over experience. The cost of one small popcorn is almost $8 and I barely got a bag the size of my fist. Knowing this is the money maker for theaters I let it go. The screens in the theaters were extremely tiny at this location and the seats were extremely uncomfortable. For 12.50 a ticket and 8 for a small popcorn I At least expected comfy seats. Maybe even a slight bit of updates since they have been closed for over a year. The service was good though. Save your money for Netflix or Prime Video and invest in a popcorn machine. Its a lot better than paying for an 850% increase in the price of popcorn. Going to the movies is one of my favorite things to do but I can see why the theater industry is dying. read more

The theater ran 32 minutes of previews. That is an atrocity. They should warn folks before-hand.

There is no separate line for ticket purchases. You have to stand in the same line as 20 people who want to buy refreshments. The only way to avoid waiting in line is the "do it yourself" kiosk. Whatever happened to customer service? The whole kiosk, do it yourself stuff has really gotten out of hand. No only here, but at other businesses as well. The theater in Hickory would be a better choice. read more

The staff here is THE WORST! Had tickets for 4:00pm show and was told to go to theatre 2. Sat thru 25 minutes of previews only for it to be THE WRONG MOVIE. Went to the ticket stand only to be told they made a mistake and it was actually theatre 3. Another 20 minutes of preview and guess what? WRONG MOVIE AGAIN. The ticket stand lady told me to go to the ticket counter where the RUDEST individual said it was just a misunderstanding and that he would not tolerate my being upset. Nope! Being instructed to go to the wrong theatre twice is NOT a misunderstanding. It's bad management! And no, the theaters did NOT have the titles listed on them, just the theater number. Horrible experience and one of the staff members laughed at us. The manager was good. He refunded our money for the tickets and snacks, and gave us a vouchers. However, having 5 disappointed family members on Christmas Day is not what we wanted. read more

Went to see Star Wars yesterday at 12:30 The gentlemen taking our money for tickets had a personality of a wet cold sock...find a job that makes u smile. Stephen and Ivey were awesome. Smiles and suggestive sales. Great job. Now the young man taking tickets, terrible. No smile, no hello. Don't spend your entire life being so unhappy. Had to go to the bathroom and asked mr unhappy ticket taker where the bathroom was and all the could do was grunt and point. Then he said other side. Now the usual Regal experience we are use to. This is my hometown theater and currently the only one in town, so of course I don't have a choice but to use it. That being said I have had great experiences with the helpful staff and I appreciate that they are beginning to upgrade different aspects of the theater. For example, they have started replacing some of the old seats with new comfy, leather seats. read more

The staff is great but this place is horribly outdated and the popcorn is stale - always get a headache after. It's the only theatre in town so clearly residents are being taken advantage of with zero improvement over so so many years yet super high prices. With a national name... Went here while visiting Appalachian State University. As someone from the Norfolk/VA Beach area in Virginia, I was accustomed to the modern Regal Cinemas. This theater was a little outdated and the bathrooms were not the cleanest. Overall, staff was nice and the experience was alright, just would like to see some updates here and perhaps a deep clean. read more

Nice theater. We went in February and I never took my heavy coat off. I had on long johns too! The seats, at least in the one we were in, were barely on an incline. Almost a flat floor. Hard to see when someone sits in front of you. It's the only one, so you make due. Overall not a bad experience in a crowded theater. read more

I normally see about 2 movies a week at the Regal Cinemas Boone 7 and my experience overall has been great. They recently did add new seats. Inside watching the movie; projectors and seats have been great the 25+ times I have seen a movie there. The concessions could use some work; probably the worse Popcorn I have had at any location ( I believe they don't make it fresh). And would like them to add more options for concessions. read more

It is the second week that Hidden Figures has been out. It is the #1 movie in America, and somehow it is not showing. They are playing all movies that have made little to no numbers and have no dynamic casts (with the exception of Star Wars). Drove all the way to Boone to see it. They've never not shown a major film, so I didn't anticipate an issue, but, then again, the last film I saw with a colored person as a lead character here was Pocahontas. Went to a 1:30 movie on a Thursday to celebrate our anniversary. Senior tickets were a little pricey at $8.63 each. A medium coke and medium bag of popcorn was $15 - not sure how the average family can go to a movie anymore. The popcorn kernels were tiny and not much flavor. The theater was very cold (I heard other patrons complaining also). My husband went to the car for a blanket, otherwise I don't think we would have stayed. The sound was way too loud - people are not deaf and it can't be good to have sound that loud. The seats don't recline and aren't comfortable. 20 minutes of previews is also too much. Guess we'll wait on movies to come out on Netflix or Redbox in the future. read more
