My go to movie theater. Always lots of free parking. All the auditoriums are comfortable even the smaller ones. Love that there's different selection of foods like burgers. Don't forget that Regal has a great loyalty program. When I get free tickets I find it easier to use them here than at Consolidated especially for independent releases. read more

My wife and I recently attended this movie theater to watch "Spy". While attempting to purchase or tickets, we were told that they could not allow children under 17 into the movie. As we had our 4 month old with us, they couldn't sell the tickets because it is a rated R movie. I asked if they were serious and they told me yes. So I just left with my wife. I can forgive the seats. I can forgive the old moldy smell some screens have, but you've got to be kidding me. A child can enter a rated R movie with an accompanying adult. But apparently not here. If my child was older, I obviously wouldn't have brought them. But on a night out after dinner while just arriving on island not long ago, that ruined the whole mood. I will not be attending this theater anymore and I will dispose of my reward card as I will not be needing it any longer. read more

Need to update the RPX experience. In short that's why they get only 2 stars from me. Now here's the longer explanation. RPX stands for Regal Premium Experience that's why you pay more. If this were 3 years ago maybe you could call this premium. I go to the movies every Friday usually Regal Pearl Highlands. Pearl Highlands is a "regular" theater. And like most theaters today they have fully reclining Lazy Boy style recliners. You pay about $6.00 more for RPX at Dole but the seats are not fully reclining like almost every less expensive theater nowadays. In fact with the exception of the leather covering the seats are very narrow and somewhat uncomfortable. The seats are also very upright. Maybe I'm spoiled but Dole's RPX can no longer be considered premium and doesn't justify the higher price. I say go somewhere else where the seats are fully reclining and the price is better. Maybe that will send the message to Regal they need to step up their game if they want to earn the premium moniker. read more

This place really needs to shampoo their theater seating! Its super gross when the theater smells like body order and then you walk out of the theaters smelling like that body order! I gave the theater 3 stars because it's a simple fix that they will hopefully start implementing. Until they clean up their act, I don't think I will go back anytime soon. The theatre needs to be better managed. Once we went to see one of the Operas being broadcast and after the the intermission, the broadcast started again & they forgot to turn the lights off in the theatre. We had to go out after 15 minutes & tell the crew that they were still on. Also the temperature is always warm in there. The hallways are nicely air conditioned, but the auditoriums always are on the warm side. Very uncormfortable. We only go there when we get free movie passes from our relatives. Stick with the Ward Theatre it 's 10 times better. The food in the Dole is ok, but stay away from the pretzels, they are the worst tasting pretzels ever! read more

Why is it that the movies in open caption are at the worst possible times? Why is it that only one or two different movies are shown at any one time? There is a large population of deaf and hard of hearing in Hawaii who would love to spend there money at the theatre. It seems that the deaf children in this state get it the worst with the times. The close caption is either during school hours or so late at night they can't go because of school. I suggest that management read the Star or research the surrounding community. There are now over 100,000 deaf and hard of hearing residents in Hawaii. Multiply that by the amount of a movie ticket and someone would be in trouble if I were the president of Regal. Come on Corporate or Managers lets get more in tune for those with disabilities. read more

Went for an IMAX experience with my girlfriend, spent over $90 for a trip to the movies! The IMAX was 40, which is reasonable but still pricier than anywhere else, two drinks and popcorn was 20. Parking was ridiculous, there is no other place around to park other than the parking lot which charges 2.50 per 30 mins, what kind of theater charges for parking for guess that will be there a maximum of 3 hours? read more

Not the nicest location, kinda sketchy. The seats are so painful, they make you sit up so straight and the head rest is to high if your short like me 5'1. I gave it two stars only because the ticket cashier was pretty nice, and the attached parking garage is convenient. I went for a special event, the advance screening of "Lone Survivor." I was excited to see the movie because my brother is a Marine that did three tours in Afghanistan, and the book is one of his favorites. Also, it's based on a true story that lead to Lt. Michael Murphy receiving the Medal of Honor. As often happens with free events, it was a ZOO! (I suspect that some people show up to free events simply because they are free.) There were no signs for the event, people were letting friends cut in line (as in four at a time), and some people even had camping chairs set up. With no indication if we would even get in, we gave up and went home. While the theater validates parking, the ratio of few employees on duty to the large crowd made that more of a pain than I would expect. There are nicer, more convenient theaters. Saving a buck or two is not worth the downsides for me. I will not be back. read more

Be sure to see the RPX Movies when they are available if you intend to go here. RPX movie tickets are from$11.50-$33.00, but hey it's worth it! I like leather seating, cooler room temperatures, and stadium seating. I love this movie theater the most of them all here on the islands. Parking is in a structured building so don't forget to get your parking ticket validated when you enter the movie theater check-in counter. I usually see movies at Ward, mainly because I can reserve seating. It's because I HATE waiting in lines. The other major reason is that there are lots of places to eat and drink nearby. I went to Dole two times in two weeks because of various reasons. First off, the popcorn is not as good as at Ward Consolidated. I could taste the coconut flavoring in the popcorn. I HATE coconut! Second, the hot dogs are not even half as good as at Ward Consolidated. They were actually wrinkled! The theater screen and seats are ok. The customer service is non-existant. I feel like at Consolidated, the employees try to do their best. At Dole, I feel like they are there because they have to be there. I don't care if the movies are cheap on Tuesday. I would never go on that day since it is very busy and would almost guarantee that I won't get the seats I want! I know this company could do better, but they probably won't. I'll try them again in a couple years to see if anything changed. read more

love this place. my bf and i are on a budget. so we go to costco to get our tickets there. its 15 bucks for 2 tickets instead of the 21 dollars for both of us at the theatre. than we get points on our regal crown card (earn points for every dollar spent and its free!) so when you earn enough points you get a free movie. also when you go on mondays you get a free small popcorn or on tuesday free small drink and dollar candy! can't beat that! not to mention plenty parking and plenty room in the theatre its hardly ever busy! read more

I used to come to Dole alot back in the day. In fact, I used to avoid Ward theaters cuz of the crowds. But now things have changed and my girlfriend and I love going to Ward. And we'll go to Dole only when the times at Ward don't agree with our schedule. Well, the last time we went to Dole was two weeks ago and I think that will be our last time. The theaters are small compared to what we are used to. So finding a good seat is kind of harder then usual. And the last time we went it felt like something was biting us big time. I think they have bed bugs in their seats or something. All we could think about was getting outta there and throwing our clothes into the wash. Which cut our date short. Dam! Dole you c*ck blocker! hehe jk. Anyways, the place is starting to look like it could use a renovation. And with the problem I just described. It makes it a perfect time to do so. i don't know about Tuesdays but Saturday I went to see the remake of "Total Recall" haven't been to this theater in years only went cause I had gift card that paid for movie ( $ 10.50 ), popcorn ( $6.50 ) and root beer ( $3.75 ) I was most impressed by the quality of the projection and sound first rate, ranks with the best theaters I've seen on the mainland for years, my biggest complaint about Consolidated theaters is that, to save money on electrical bills, the projectionist doesn't show the film using the regular lamp setting. Turns it down resulting in a very dark image Hollywood studios spend hundreds of millions on the their movies, the cinematographers are visual artists, carefully calibrating each image, only to be ruined by lousy projection with today's HD TVs you get better images than Consolidated but yay for Regal for giving the customer the best projection and sound but why only 3 stars? popcorn is lousy ugh couldn't finish the bag read more

I was in theatre number 13, and it was freezing(and it was pouring all day so everyone was wet), and one of the speakers on the left side of the theatre was buzzing extremely loud the entire movie! It wasn't noticeable most of the time because the sound was so freaking loud. But, when there was a quiet(usually serious) moment in the movie, there it was! Buzzing like crazy! AWFUL! My partner and I drove into town to see the Avengers in IMAX 3D (his idea, not mine). Thankfully, we had pre-purchased our tickets online, because the line to get tickets was out to the street, WITH ONE PERSON WORKING IN THE BOX. Anyway, we went in, and begun the wait for snacks. After 20 minutes, we had finally reached the counter... too bad the movie was about to start. I went to get us 2 seats--the only seats available in the entire theater are in the front 2 rows... uh, I think not. So, I went back out, thankfully before he had ordered food, and decided we would leave. We headed over to guest services (which had no line) to get a refund ($17.25 a piece), only to find some lazy teenage girl chatting it up on her cell phone, while we waited for her to assist us. Finally, she got off (after about 5 minutes) and asked if we needed help. UM, OBVIOUSLY! She told us that she couldn't do refunds (surprise, surprise), and that we'd need to do that at the box... too bad the line for tickets remained unchanged, with people out to the street. Had it been a few bucks, I wouldn't have waited, but $35... I wanted a refund. After waiting in that line for 30 minutes, the ONLY person working in the box gave us a refund without issue. Just when I thought this disaster was over with, it took 15 minutes to get out of the garage, which was backed up beyond belief. This all took place midday on a Sunday. Regal needs to work on staffing its theater with more/better employees, who are on a time other than "island time" AKA... slow and lazy time. read more

With managers behaving badly the workers follow suit. I will never watch another movie from a Regal Crown Theatre ever again. This company needs to se d their employees to customer service training. We were at Regal Dole Cannery theaters on Nov. 29, 2014. This was our favorite theater until this visit. The fluorescent lights were left on so we could clearly see the inside of the theater. The cloth covered seats were filthy. There were black and brown stains on every seat. Despite using a antiseptic wipe on the seats, it was still too yucky sitting on the gross seats. The theater management needs clean those seats. read more

This is one of our fav go-to theaters on the island. They have a military discount, which is nice. There is plenty of parking and it is free if you get your ticket validated or if you show your movie tickets to the toll attendant. The only drawback is the concession area. Sure, they have a huge variety of things to choose from, but it seems a little disorganized. What good is it to have a million choices, if it takes forever to get it and costs an arm and a leg? We waited in line about 30 minutes before our movie this last time and missed the first few minutes of it. I understand that they get busy, and even though they seemed to be working hard, they could probably capitalize on some lessons on efficiency. Maybe just streamline the way they take care of food orders and drink orders, etc. The theater itself is ok. The seats are a little uncomfortable, but the sound is pretty good. Overall, its probably your best bet for movies in this area. read more

I went here after finding that the movie I wanted to see (Watchmen) was playing on a IMAX screen... dang, didn't know there was an IMAX here in Hawaii? - so I guess it's new? Didn't notice any inferiority over other IMAX's (as mentioned in another review, but I'm not exactly an aficionado either). Well, I went to a matinee showing, but don't think there's a matinee discount on IMAX movies... oh well. The theater was 99% empty, and initially I though I was going to be the only person in there, but a few more showed up. I thought the parking situation was a bit hard to figure out, and the garage was packed, so I ended up way at the top. It's nice that the elevator drops you off right at the theater lobby though. I don't feel the genral area of the Dole Cannery is a particular appealing area to hang out in, so I'm not sure I'll be going here to watch movies with the wife - Ward seems to have more energy, atmosphere, if you will. read more

So disappointed. Havent been to a movie in ages at Dole. Now i remember why... and i now resolve not to go back anymore. A matinee is now over $10.00. If you are a walk-up to the movie board to decide on a standard, rpx or imax movie....you will be there for an hour trying to figure it!!! I moved to the consession line next and it was a completely un-nerving experience. No boxes for popcorn.. just a plastic bag. Seriously, who uses plain table salt on popcorn?? You have to buy yucky poopcorn flavor like cheese cause they dont have regular popcorn salt you could purchase. i ordered mini corn dogs in lieu of a regular sized , ridiculously-priced $4.89 hot dog because i figured it might be worth the $1 more to get a better bang for my hot-dog buck! Instead, i got oily fried nastiness I waited 10 minutes for. Seriously gross overdone nuggets of oil. Menu screens you cannot even read as plasma screens are now blurred and print is too teeny-tiny. The graphics move at lighting speed and merge together to flash coke ads and if you're really speedy, you can catch which combo you might want. At least the soda they didnt screw up...everything else was less than mediocre and i dropped $26+. I WOULD pay a higher price for a ticket or for food ( like they dont charge enough already!!!) IF it was a good quality. Quality it is NOT!!! Maybe management will read this and take a real regular person's opinion.I would NOT recommend Dole in it's current state. I find many of the reviews i read here seriuosly over-rated showing Dole in a positive light. I seriously disagree and am out over $58.00 for a lousy experience. read more

Here's the bottom line. The surrounding area is full of homeless people which wouldn't be so bad if not for the mentally ill and recovering substance abuse people as well. The parking is adequate but be sure to validate your ticket if neccesary. We didn't and the lot attendant made us get out of the car and walk back in the theatre to get it validated even though we had our ticket stubs for proof. The bathrooms are smelly, old and in need of renovating but that goes with the rest of the place. We purchased our tickets on line but we were told the scanner was broken so the ticket person had to physically write our confirmation number down on a random piece of paper for turn in to the guest services desk. Water damage noticeable on the main ceiling of the main concession area and just as another Yelper said earlier, the lines take far to long to traverse. The employees aren't from what I can see to blame really. There just not being provided the neccesary equipment and facilities to be competitive with Ward theatre down the road. read more

I may be a little harsh but theres no half star rating on this so ill leave it at what it is...this was once the state of the at theater and it still us decent, but compared to ward the speaker systems ain't up to snuff, and maybe it was just our theater but our theater had a odor to it in the lower region, kind of uriny but it may have only ben that day in that room. Number 12 tangled, yesterday..Other than that the screen size is okay, and ill actually the popcorn is crunchier than ward.and for a matinee good bargain,I guess just compared to ward it doesn't live up to my expectations and if I'm going to spend a lot for a movie anyways, I'd rather do it at what I feel is the best, just my opinion. read more
