bought a ticket for odyssey in imax @ 6:45. it says 6:45 online, on my ticket and on the email confirmation. we show up and there's a line wrapped around the building pouring into the parking lot for ALL movie ticket holders being held up by ONE worker with an ipad scanning tickets. it took FIFTEEEN MINUTES to get our ticket scanned. AND THEN - the auditorium says the showtime was at 6:20 and the movie has already been playing for 30 minutes. TOTAL FAILURE DONT COME HERE OMG like i can't even believe how many fails in a row that was. the support line was also long because the theater seemingly messed up everything that day. refunds were being issued quick and employees (who i kinda felt bad for) were literally shrugging / venting / clearly fatigued by how much of a MESS the day has been. in short, don't list a showtime that isn't real?? don't bottleneck ticket holders coming into your theater for time-sensitive screenings?? put up like 5 self-scan ipads or something??? insane to be on our way to see one of the biggest technical future-forward achievements in filmmaking and be met with a theater that couldn't even use basic web capabilities to update.... a showtime. read more

Their projectors don't work, even on an opening Friday night for high-demand films. Do better, Regal. I showed up for a packed screening of "Backrooms" opening weekend. Entire theater was packed full of excited fans. We waited. And then we waited some more. Eventually somebody leaves to ask the manager why the film wasn't playing. Guy comes back, says that the manager is really sorry and everyone will be getting refunds (except those of us who paid through Fandango lol). I love horror movies, and I hold a special place in my heart for those cheesy, campy slasher movies from the 1980's. Whenever Friday the 13th rolls around, my husband and I look for something fun to do. When we learned that the Regal Cinema was doing a Friday the 13th double feature, we knew we had to go! So they were actually doing a showing of Friday the 13th, Part 3 in 3-D, followed by Friday the 13th, Part 4. I would have to give them at least a few stars simply for being the only theater to show these movies on that special day. When I pulled up and saw the theater, I was afraid that it was totally outdated, but actually was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The concession area looked modern. The bathroom and the theater were both clean. A lot of older theaters have torn seats and worn carpeting. This did not. Now, I am used to movie theaters having bars. This did not. However, I was able to get a decent can of bubbly. They had several types of canned wine to choose from, so I was able to choose one that I knew was decent. My husband said that the popcorn was good, but I didn't try it. So, Friday the 13th, Part 3 in 3-D was awesome.... all the goodness of campy horror with the 3-D features that were all so popular when it first came out. My biggest complaint is that my seat was super uncomfortable. I'm a medium-sized person, and there just wasn't room for my legs. I was super uncomfortable at the end of the first movie, so we opted against buying tickets and staying for the next one. Again, I give major credit to Regal for showing Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th. All in all, it was a decent experience, but not my favorite theater. read more

Could get some updates but more here Warning parents that they will sell tickets to 11 and 12 year olds for rated R movies. No questions asked. So be aware. When I went in to ask why the theater had sold tickets to my girls (a mix up of what Mummy movie they were seeing) the cashier said 'I didn't sell them the tickets'. FYI If you work at a place, you represent a place. But they don't seem to care- the manager who came refund us was asked if there was any rule about age and rated R movies and she said yes, but wasn't bothered or apologetic that another employee had broken that rule. So I guess if you're a kid reading reviews: this is the theater to go to if you want to see a rated R movie and your parents said no. read more

As a kid this place was the spot to be, as a 26 year old man this place has gone down hill. Teenage staff, seemingly no adults to consult if there's an issue. My girlfriend and I went to see Backrooms the other night and it was completely packed. Mostly teenage kids, specifically a group of 7 Latino kids with backpacks being very loud and rude, yelling "ni**er" at quiet parts of the movie, throwing drinks and popcorn. One kid who was in front of me was assaulted by two random kids after he was hit with a popcorn bucket and a drink they came up to him and slapped him in the head. I felt like we were in the twilight zone, not a single person in the theatre reacted to these kids. There was no one to report this to besides other kids! Out of all the times Ive been to this theater since it's close by to my house I never had this kind of experience. Yesterday I had tickets to see Jurassic rebirth at 4:10 and it was in auditorium 14. So I usually see workers cleaning the theater prior and after the movie but it looks like they were lazy or didn't see it We sat all the way in the back isle N seats 22/23 If I'm spending almost $20 a ticket and close to $50 on popcorn and drinks you would think they will clean it. It's usually my last resort to go to Regal Escondido. If you ask me, this theater is pretty outdated...needs a makeover ASAP. I think it was supposed to shut down in the past or may in the future...not sure which. In my case, my movies are phasing out and I really want to see them but Regal Escondido would be the only place showing them. When I come here, the staff don't seem to be too happy to work there which says a lot. The great thing is that they're usually quick with the lines. Unfortunately, inside the theater for an evening showtime on different occasions was really cold when the outside temperature usually drops. I'm not sure why that's not considered and thermometer adjusted accordingly. And by the way, the bathroom situation is limited. I noticed there's ONLY two restrooms in this huge theatre. read more

I attended an AARP movie event at Regal Escondido. First, the theater has one set of women's bathrooms. The film was shown in the farthest theatre from the bathrooms. When hosting seniors, that's a big huge foul. Then once the film let out, of all the bathroom stalls, only four were unlocked to be used. The rest locked! Why? And, one was disgusting. My friend and I recently booked tickets for a movie and we didn't realize we booked them for the previous day at the same time until we got there. Luckily, their customer service was fantastic! A manager was able to switch our tickets to the correct day and time and we were able to see our movie. We couldn't have been happier with such wonderful care and service. In the theater we were in (theater 2), the seats were old, they didn't have recliners, and ticket prices were around $43 for (1) Adult and (2) Children. Wow. Pretty sure this place is the sole reason the movie theater sector is failing. Came here to see DUNE 2 in IMAX. Great movie. Horrible theater. It was the late night showing so admittedly I drank way too much caffeine to stay awake. I got super thirsty. Came out to buy water and they said nope bc they already closed the registers. Pointed out some drinking fountains. They were turned off. When I told them this they told me I could leave the theater and try to buy water at Coldstone around the corner. Like what?? Pretty unsafe in that area at night tbh. Give me a cup of ice or something! Jeez. Also the bathrooms were. Not. Good. The IMAX was giving me anxiety lol. Like too intense and loud. And too caffeinated to handle it. The theater itself was also a mess. The employees were all standing around doing nothing. In the middle of a movie when they just shut it off. No one was around working to check our tickets when we arrived but we bought popcorn and soda, no one ever asked or was around aside from concessions. Accessibility: there are accessible parking spots across from the entrance, it's all flat ground from the parking lot into the building, and everything inside the whole movie theater is flat ground or has ramps. They have larger, wheelchair accessible stalls and sinks inside the restrooms, and you can ask for closed captions or headphones for the movies. Experience: there are a lot of complaints from other people in reviews but sadly you can't please everyone. This movie theater is fine to me. We know movies are expensive these days, and if you're worried about that, don't buy extra things like popcorn and drinks. As for the heating/AC, you should ALWAYS bring a warm jacket if it's cold, and simply take it off if you get hot. Be prepared for either condition. The employees here are nice, work quickly to help customers, and it is not crowded (even on a Saturday night). I do recommend this place. To me, the movie was a bit loud, but I brought earplugs so it cut some of the sound down. read more

Regal Cinema in Escondido has been our go-to location for movies over the years. The theaters at this cinema complex are your standard stadium seating with foldaway arm rests and a little bit of "give" in the back rest to recline just a bit. They have IMAX here and it's a great experience. This location has a small arcade. There is a snack booth that offers your typical candy, popcorn and soda options. They also serve some meal items like chicken strips, pizza, and hot dogs. I just noticed on my last trip that they serve tall boys of beer. Five stars for being clean, always having the newest movies, and a well stocked snack bar. This is a great place to take in a movie. read more

Some of the auditoriums have outdated digital projectors.. so if you happen to land in one of those, expect the movie to not have proper coloring and too much darkness. And if you want to watch a movie in Imax. I suggest you go to Mira Mesa. I've have come to Escondido for the Imax shows, only to get a refund most of the time because one of their projectors doesn't work... read more

I love to have a Cinema so close to home! You can buy tickets online or in person at the "self-service" area. The employees are always so nice and helpful! I had one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences at Regal Escondido on Thursday, Aug 21, around 6 PM. I came with my mother to watch Ne Zha 2. Instead of a normal transaction, we were given multiple contradictory excuses by different staff members: One told us it was "card only" and redirected us. Another said the "machine wasn't working," even though the movie and available seats were clearly showing on the Regal app. When we returned, we were dismissed again with the same excuse -- even when asking about a simple merchandise item. We felt completely brushed off and skipped over while other guests behind us were helped. It honestly came across as discriminatory and unprofessional. My mother and I left feeling humiliated and cheated out of what should have been a fun night. Regal needs to train its staff better on consistency, respect, and customer service. Presentation wise this is a beautiful theatre. It's big and clean. Came to watch Oppenheimer with a friend to experience IMAX. The movie did not disappoint. The seats were non recliner but still comfortable. Went to concessions to buy some snacks and although there were 3 staff members behind the counter, it didn't seem like anyone wanted to help us. My friend went up to ask for assistance, the member was kind and apologized, then we were disappointed that none of the dispensers had napkins. For most regals this is a decent one. This theater has had the worst management since the early 2000s. Today's adventure was a completely empty lobby with 5 people behind the counter, including a manager. We got popcorn and went to get straws and napkins but the dispenser for napkins was empty on that side. I went over to thw manager to let her know and she pointed to the opposite side of the lobby and said to get them over there. We were already late and I was annoyed by her response when the business was obviously not busy. And more people will be coming. They advertise "combo" but charge you the individual prices for each item. They ring up large drinks for small orders. They also charge an extra dip for chicken tenders but you only get one. The manager in the pink blazer is the one cheating the customers. She was the one who rang us up. She takes advantage of the chaos they create at the register. Had to wait in a long concession line with barely any staff working. No one handed out 3D IMAX glasses, I had to track them down myself. Worst of all, someone left a light on in the projector room, flooding the room with light during the movie. Totally broke the immersion. read more
