I love horror movies, and I hold a special place in my heart for those cheesy, campy slasher movies from the 1980's. Whenever Friday the 13th rolls around, my husband and I look for something fun to do. When we learned that the Regal Cinema was doing a Friday the 13th double feature, we knew we had to go! So they were actually doing a showing of Friday the 13th, Part 3 in 3-D, followed by Friday the 13th, Part 4. I would have to give them at least a few stars simply for being the only theater to show these movies on that special day. When I pulled up and saw the theater, I was afraid that it was totally outdated, but actually was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The concession area looked modern. The bathroom and the theater were both clean. A lot of older theaters have torn seats and worn carpeting. This did not. Now, I am used to movie theaters having bars. This did not. However, I was able to get a decent can of bubbly. They had several types of canned wine to choose from, so I was able to choose one that I knew was decent. My husband said that the popcorn was good, but I didn't try it. So, Friday the 13th, Part 3 in 3-D was awesome.... all the goodness of campy horror with the 3-D features that were all so popular when it first came out. My biggest complaint is that my seat was super uncomfortable. I'm a medium-sized person, and there just wasn't room for my legs. I was super uncomfortable at the end of the first movie, so we opted against buying tickets and staying for the next one. Again, I give major credit to Regal for showing Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th. All in all, it was a decent experience, but not my favorite theater.

Disgusting flooded bathroom which was wet for hours

Unsafe, bathroom was flooded for multiple hours. They don't care if you slip. Very dismissed staff.

"Recliner Seating (the fancy black recliners with a table)" still same old seats last visit
    Krisztina R.

Why does the Regal app say recliner seats? The Escondido yelp shows pictures of the said black seats and so does the app. Went to see the latest avatar and it mentioned recliner seats, yet not upgraded yet. I'm kinda disappointed. I want to go see the new silent Hill but kind of weary and instead of thinking of hitting up another regal for an updated experience.

10/06/2024. Outdated, but clean auditorium #8 at 11:05 am.

This is another location that I go to that plays a variety of movies. 10/06/2024. The auditoirums are outdated, but they are clean and it doesn't matter once the lights are off :) Watching a movie at the theaters brings ambiance that can't be duplicated at home.

Used cups, and popcorn that they didn't clean up prior to my showing

Then, when I left the middle of the movie to ask for the missing meal, they gave me attitude, were rude and refused to refund us. Took forever to get the missing quesadilla and made me miss more of the movie. Incompetent, untrained, no hospitality... it's obvious why they sit in the 2 star category. Based on experience and current scores I'm assuming it won't be long til they fail and turn into another low income apartment building just like the regal in oceanside. Theathere experiences just aren't what they used to be. They have just become a hub for hiring first time jobbers and high school kids. Not a single experienced adult manager onsite. We will never come back. And we will definitely not recommend.

This theater is truly luxury where you can order your food and drink right at your seat and they do have actual meals (such as burgers, etc.). They also do have alcohol and cocktails. The seating here is unique where it's two sweaters (great for couples). than the typical long row seating. The chairs are comfy and feels quite intimate to be honest. I would say the only downside is that you know the movie is ending when the servers come to drop off your check so it can be a bit distracting from that. But overall, it's a great movie theater where you can eat and watch with your loved ones!

The location is great, with a large parking lot that's easy to get in and out of. I still love the lobby and overall atmosphere. It feels a lot more upscale than your average movie theater, and everything seemed clean and well maintained. The biggest disappointment was the service. We ordered a popcorn refill and additional drinks during the movie and ended up waiting about 30 to 40 minutes for them to arrive. I also never received a receipt at the end and had to stop by customer service afterward. I also have to mention how much I miss the Greek bowl they used to serve. It had gyro meat and was hands down my favorite thing on the menu. I would love to see it make a comeback. I'll definitely be back because I still enjoy the theater overall, but I do feel like the experience isn't quite as good as it used to be.

Now it is absolutely disgusting. We were lined up to get into a 7pm showing last night, and for some reason it was taking extremely long for us to be let into the theater (I knew something was up, as this is NOT the norm). It doesn't take 30 min or so for a theater to be cleaned (I worked at one in high school). They finally let us in at 6:50pm (again, 7pm showing), after seeing one of the employees wheel out a cart that had PEST/BUG CONTROL SPRAY on it!?? Once at our seats, they were sticky, broken, trash in broken/missing cupholders, tables bent and peeling, etc. It's insane that we paid FULL PRICE for a theater this gross. The entire theater needs remodeling and new seats, tables, etc. On top of that, I accidentally left a water bottle there, that of course, employees did not turn in to the lost and found. I'm in SHOCK at the condition of this theater (especially when paying well over $100 on tickets and food). See just a few of the photos I was able to snap before the movie started. Absolutely skip this theater until they remodel one day. It's SO gross.
