This is definitely the best movie theater around. The only option for IMAX that I'm aware of. I drive from Mount Sterling to go to this theater for both comfort and the IMAX option. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the concession stand is extremely overpriced. read more

I'm usually a loyal Cinemark goer but my friends in Lexington love this theater. I've been here twice and both times were good experiences. The theater is always clean and their concession stand is a lot more extensive compared to other theaters. They have Cheeto popcorn that I've been wanting to try. The only thing I'm being picky about is the signs at the theater doors don't tell you what movie you are seeing. We almost walked into a random theater thinking it's our movie but it wasn't. I have the unlimited subscription and come in at least once a month; it's really a good place to go, there is a bar, they have hot food, their popcorn is great, and they recently added concession mobile ordering and pick up. Their rooms are big and the seats recline and are very comfortable. Sometimes is hard to find parking but there's plenty of it if you drive a little more than just the front rows. Went to see Wicked at Hamburg and was impressed with the cleanliness of the theatre and the many options for food and drink. The Glinda Wicked cocktail was actually really good and I was skeptical when my partner handed it to me. The staff wasn't very friendly but was also very young... if I were to mention room for improvement, this would be it. Went for a movie and it was ... an experience. There are basically only self serve kiosks for tickets or you can buy them online. We had a huge issue with using the kiosk, luckily we got our tickets to work on our phone. There is one person scanning tickets who was able to help. The theater was pretty big and comfortable - the recliner seats are nice but they get so noisy when you shift around. Concessions are very pricey, but they do have some interesting options: cheetos popcorn, movie inspired bites, and a pretty large range of alcohol (they have an alcoholic freeze machine that you can mix Coke with, I got Crown Royal vanilla). Some nice discounts: discounted Tuesday tickets, senior citizens get discounted tickets, and they have a summer children's film program. Two tickets, two drinks, small popcorn was over $50, so this is definitely going to be a once in a while treat. read more

The friendliness of the staff added to the overall enjoyment. However, as a mystery shopper for my friends in California and Hawaii, I tend to notice details that many customers may overlook. Upon my visit, I noticed a significant amount of dust accumulated on the gaming machines and the tops of the shelves, which detracted from the otherwise enjoyable atmosphere as i am allergic to dustmites. Moreover, the men's bathroom had two non-working light bulbs, which is an area that deserves attention for the comfort and safety of all guests. I also spoke with a manager about a refund I requested for purchasing too many tickets and exchanged my confirmation. I was assured by that manager my refund for the four tickets would be processed in a few minutes. After the movie, I waited 10-15 minutes to talk to another manage to check on the refund and my experience. I found him distracted, as he was engaged in a lengthy conversation with a friend. Frustrated, I decided to leave and reach out to customer support instead. It is important to follow through on these commitments, as it reflects the level of care and customer service that should be a hallmark of your establishment. Saw a movie Tuesday morning. Was in theater 16. For long periods of time there was seemingly construction working directly above my theater. Drills, hammers, loud objects being moved around. Made it very hard to hear the movie or pay attention. Completely detracted from my experience. Of course I understand that places need work every now and then. But if you are going to be working directly above a specific screen, do not show a movie during that time. If you are going to be working on the entire facility, do it before hours or after hours or close for a bit. The whole point is that I should be able to focus on the movie, this negatively impacted my viewing experience and I am very unhappy with the facility. read more

They have a great variety of international movies shown in multiple languages that are translated to English, or subscripted to English on the screen. If you arrive hungry, there are delicious filling selections at a good value. Regal seems to have the BEST variety of snacks! It is hard to decide which one to get! Plus the delicious DRIPS drinks!!! Excellent movie theater. While the prices were higher than we are used to, the really nice reclining seats made up for it. The bathrooms were clean and you could tell that the staff take great care in keeping everything clean. The small drink was much bigger than I anticipated; but it was still nice to have. They have Pepsi products which is a refreshing change from other places that seem to all have Coke products. The small popcorn was a little on the cold side; but we did see a movie around 2p, so it wasn't super busy. All in all, this is a perfect way to spend as a date night or date afternoon. Best cinema in Lexington. Don't buy what the whiners and bs-ers are saying. They're the overly privileged fodder. Regal has the best range of formats and more auditoriums than the local competition. They also show a wider range of domestic, foreign, and special interest options, incl. Met Opera, Telugu, and special event showings like live concerts. And their rewards program is by far better than the competition in town. Easy to get enough rewards for free concessions and movie schwag. read more

A rare visit to a movie theater for me in the COVID era, but Dune was something that really needed to be seen in person. Ideally it would be seen in IMAX, but while it is labeled as such, the screen here was one of the least impressive faux IMAX screens I've ever seen, being marginal in size and not possessing any special audiovisual quality that I could detect. I struggle to think it was worth the extra money. Nor, I might add, did my daytime show entitle me to a matinee discount. The reclining seats are fancy and the population density is low as a consequence of wide spacing, but mine was a bit slippery and didn't quite recline enough for true comfort. I bought a ticket online in advance, with assigned seating, but I walked straight into the theater without being stopped or checked by anyone. Someone was working the front door when I left, but for all the cost it seems like staffing was an issue for them. As much as I wanted a movie theater experience, if the cynic in me says the industry is dying, this theater didn't do a ton to convince me otherwise. read more

I got a drink and the only thing the reps didn't do was shove their hands into it. They kept pour foam out and sloshing soda all over the cup. They fumbled around with the lid to the point I took it off because of how unhygienic it was. Then I got to my seat for the new Dr Strange movie. The seat was shredded. I figured that's part of it being an old theater. Apparently they don't do any levels of repair because the buttons for reckoning don't work. I was shocked how nice this theater was! I lived in Lexington for 4 years, but I don't recall if I had ever visited this theater. We came in on a Saturday around 4:30 to watch a 5pm showing of Mary Poppins. The parking lot was pretty large! We found a spot which was not far off at all. As we walked in, you see the area to get tickets. There was one guy there to help people but we already purchased ours ahead of time online. Seating is assigned here, which I found interesting. They seem to use lots of neon lights inside for some reason. Kinda made the place feel like an arcade or something. I liked it though! There's someone standing in the middle of the lobby to check tickets. Almost missed this! Didn't realize what she was doing at first. Barely any line at concessions. There are multiple lines. I went to a line where there were a few customers finishing up. I got a medium popcorn and was hoping to get two bottles of waters for me and a friend. The guy was pretty mindful of the difference in cost of the small and large bottles. He suggested I get one large bottle and gave me two plastic cups so I could share the water. Glad he told me this! It saved me some money! My friend got a pizza which she thought was alright. Can't expect much from the movie theater. Anyway, the theaters have those seats where you can put your feet up! I didn't expect this at all and was delighted to put my feet up for the duration of the movie. After we exited the room, a bunch of staff stood outside the door ready to clean up. They all bid us a good day and Merry Christmas. Wow!! Can't wait to return!! The staff really went above and beyond with service! read more

Don't go to a lot of movies, but just caught 1917, which was quite good. Tickets are ridiculously expensive, even matinees, but that's true everywhere. Excellent staggered seating in theaters makes viewing great. Recliner seats very comfortable. Very good choices for snacks and drinks. Expensive too, of course. The serve mixed drinks. Wow, that was a surprise. I guess I'm just old. All in all, a good experience. Recommended! read more

Since the renovation, there is nice stadium black leather seating with reclining, state of the art surround sound, updated bar options, and more food options at the concession counter. The experience makes going to a discount movie theater intolerable. Another perk is that you can choose your seat. read more

This is a wonderful place to catch a movie! The seats are theater style recliners with cup holders and all the screens are really nice. The concessions offer a good selection and they even have a bar if you want to grab an alcoholic drink for the show. The theater is clean and convenient being so close to home. So. We went to see Close Encounters of the Third Kind. It was a fun nostalgia show that I would typically not review the theater because it came out a long time ago.... Anyway. The first 95% of watching this film was very enjoyable and the upscale conversion was pretty good. We were watching the final scene and the lights came on. Completely took us out of the movie. We spoke with the manager, he apologized, I guess. But, that is all fine until he let slip the fact that it happens a lot with these older movies and that apparently this is an issue that happens frequently. So. Be warned. We didn't expect compensation for the movie being ruined in the end and if you see a film here, you probably won't get it. Also. I wasn't going to say anything, but because of the bad customer service, I think the bathrooms are really gross. I don't know why people pee all over the floor, but these were saturated. I recommend booties if you're going to the restroom. Will I come back? I'm not confused at why the industry is dying. For all the effort that goes in, if the experience is not good.... Then why did I pay $50 and why would I do it again? read more

Before the upgrade, I would get to the movie an hour early to get good seats--the ones with the rail in front so I could put my feet up. First time coming here after the renovations, I didn't realize people could buy tickets days ahead of time. We tried to watch Star Wars without buying our tickets online. That was a no go. I wasn't willing to sit in the front row. SO next time, we bought our tickets early and still ended up in the second row b/c the theater was still so full. Now, I buy my tickets early in the app (either regal or fandango). This made everything so much easier. We got to pick out good seats and we didn't have to wait in line for tickets. We really like the reclining seats with the foot rests. I would have liked them to lay back further when I had to sit up front. These new seats mean there isn't as many people in theater nor are there as many tickets. Buy your tickets early. Oh one more thing to mention, they now have draft beer. Don't waste your time here. Went to see the new Batman movie a few weeks after it originally premiered. On arriving just after 10:00 pm on Friday night and opening night for two different movies, I was shocked to see only one person working the concession stand. The line was backed up to ticket check in, and didn't seem to be moving. At first I just assumed it was normal understaffing issues, but then I noticed a huddle of four employees and a manager off in a corner chatting with some guests they seemed to be friends with. None of those employees left the conversation or did their job for the entire time I waited in line. It was 10:55 and 30 minutes past the start of the film when I got to the front of the line and was informed that I had waited for no reason, because the popcorn machine was out and they weren't going to make anymore tonight. Now it seems just ridiculous for a movie theatre to decide to stop making popcorn with several other movie showtimes scheduled later in the night, nor could they have put out a sign or maybe said something to the long line of people waiting for exactly that! Extremely disappointed; if the employees can't bother doing their job then they shouldn't be working there in the first place Once I got into the theatre, the volume was up way too loud! I have never actually seen someone leave a theatre before in the middle of a movie, but I couldn't help to notice several people get up and not come back. I myself eventually left the theatre a little over halfway through the movie, because it was just too loud! I love going to the movies, have since I was a little kid, I can't remember once ever having to cover my ears and walk out of a theatre because of the sound being ridiculously loud! Overall, just go to one of the other theatres in town. It's not worth wasting your money here. If I could get a refund, I would read more

I've been here twice in the past two weeks - Seen the new Bond film and Dune (IMAX). Both experiences were excruciatingly bad. It wasn't the seating, or the screen - those are fantastic. It was the sound. They've had the audio cranked up so loud that it completely ruined both movies. I don't mind "loud", but this was so loud my wife had a migraine the first time. Both times, the volume distorted the movies so bad you couldn't understand the dialog. This is coming from someone who has been to the loudest concerts on the planet, and loves to crank up his music. But when the movie sound is so loud that your brain wants to jump out screaming... It was very annoying and almost had me wishing for some heavy duty earplugs and just reading subtitles. Get someone in there - two different theaters in this cinema - to check your sound levels! read more

Never did I think I'd see the day when movie theaters are a dying business. I haven't visited Regal in over 2 years, due to the pandemic. We went today because we had a gift certificate and were bored. Within 5 minutes, I relized how I didn't miss the subpar experience. $15 a person tickets, sticky floors, 30 minutes of commercials, the annoying sounds of strangers around us eating their popcorn like cows and the uncomfortable seats. The experience today seemed exceptionably bad because the seats were rock hard and not supportive. Also, there was NO airflow, it was just stagnant air. I left with a migraine and it was not a fun experience. Nope, I won't rush to this theater again anytime soon. read more

We attended a movie there this afternoon and the previews were incredibly LOUD, to the point of being audibly uncomfortable. We asked the management to turn the volume down and the guy behind the concession stand 'made a phone call'...but we could tell no improvement in the comfort (actually DIScomfort level) of the sound. I have reviewed this theater before but for some reason Yelp thinks I need to do it again. This is located in Hamburg and is by far the easiest theater to get in and out of traffic wise. It is located around a lot of restaurant options for drinks/food before or after the movie. I love the fact that they offer reserved seating for movies when you buy tickets ahead of time. They have also went through a face lift if you will. They have taken out a lot of the seating and hooked the movie goers up with leather recliners and tons of leg room. Win Win. I love this. It is now very relaxing to go to the movies here. They also have a rewards program where buying tickets and snacks earn you goodies. I also believe you get discounts on certain items randomly. So when I first moved to Lexington, this was really the only nice theater to go to. Then Nicholasville Amstar showed up, along with the theater at Fayette Mall. I visited here this weekend simply for the fact that I had gift cards. I'm not sure I ever want to go to the movies anywhere else again. The recliners are quiet, comfy, and oh-so-relaxing. If your movie ends up being boring, don't worry. You'll get in an excellent nap. I honestly don't know how I ever experienced movies any other way. read more

The location recently (as in the last year or two) did a huge renovation and made it a really comfy experience. So much so that I actually fell asleep when I went to the movies last week! lol The seats are huge and cushioned leather and even have a foot rest/recline!! Dangerous combo for a dark theater when you're tired!! I love this feature though and love the luxury of going to the movies! I will say, though, Movie Tavern in Nicholasville has better seating. The only difference is their chairs recline back a little more and I wish that Regal's reclined more. I know this sounds so picky and petty and I'm really not that particular but if we're comparing the two, I just wanted to note the difference. Other than that, this is the best!!!! Went to see Glass and this was our first time at this theater. We picked our seats on Fandango and got kid of where we wanted but the theater was smaller than I liked but I get it. So I did have to sit next to 2 coughing people, which I didn't like. The theater was clean and had good sound. I loved the seats that reclined. read more

I'm not one to right a review unless the overall experience was horrible. Concessions had multiple employees standing around on their phones doing absolutely nothing. Rude customer service. Employees continuously gave us dirty looks. All of them had terrible attitudes. Extremely overly priced food & drinks, tried to charge $7 for a water. Ordered pretzel bites and they were hard & burnt, had a us waiting for 15 minutes. They were out of ketchup, dr pepper, cherry icee & Pepsi icee. Won't be back! read more

I don't live on this side of town, so I don't typically go to Regal Hamburg but this is a pretty nice theater. Every time I've been, it's been clean and there haven't been long lines to get tickets or snacks. I typically go early to get the seating I want, so finding a seat isn't really a problem for me. I do like their rewards program -- it's definitely worth signing up. You can get free concessions and movie tickets so that's pretty cool. The seating is stadium-style and the seats are fairly comfortable. Like most theaters, the concessions are overpriced but that's expected. Go see your next movie here - I'm sure you'll enjoy your experience. read more
