Super pleased to see all the updates and improvements that have been made to our fav theater. The lights are all working in the letters at the entrance again! The artwork that is painted on different cardboard pieces is amazing! We love this theater and I'm so glad it's still surviving and under going a few updates!

My family has been here a few times and we've enjoyed each time we've come. The reclining seats are pretty great and the popcorn is always hot and buttery. The customer service could be improved but the concession line does seem to move quickly which is nice if you're running a little behind. We really enjoy all the merch regal has for new movies. The combo prices aren't usually too bad, but it is the movies so it is not cheap.

Took my kids here for their first movie. Parents beware - they've installed metal safety fencing between rows that blocks the view of the screen for short people! My kids couldn't see.

08/19/23- 0222 Late post... I didn't have the time to do a review for this place. I watched a few movies here while I was stationed back or near Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. This place is always clean...

Popcorn crumbs and not even full.

We're new to the area and tried out Regal but we were disappointed in the quality of the theater and lobby. There was popcorn all over the lobby and hall floors, food left in seats from previous shows and there's not a huge drink selection. Our large popcorn was mostly crumbs and stale. I don't like that the railing on the different seat levels impedes the view of the whole theater screen when the chair is any other position than upright. The staff seemed annoyed to be working and unfriendly. Just not a very clean or nice theater.

It was my 1st time here. I loved the theater. We saw a film that is not exactly mainstream and there was only 6 of us on a Saturday night. But I recommend The Lost King. The theater was nice. I loved the reclining seats. We got our tickets at the kiosk. That was new for us but simple enough. I did get a small popcorn and M&M's and the price was outrageous. But everyone was friendly and the theater was clean. Sound was good.

We came here to see Captain Marvel, and it was just alright for me. First tip - buy tickets online ahead of time. By the time we arrived (a good 45 minutes before the film was supposed to start), there were literally no seats left in the theatre except the first row. And the first row is REALLY close to the screen. So close that it basically was going to give me a migraine. Luckily, there were two random seats in different back rows -- we selected those, and then one of the other patrons kindly agreed to switch spots with us so we could sit together. That put us in the very back row, which was fine. The exterior of the theatre is super cute -- this area is really nice, and there are plenty of places to go after the film nearby if you want a bite to eat. Once you get in the theatre, the seats are comfy and recline, so that's a perk. For whatever reason, there is basically a steel barricade between each of the rows -- I guess so people don't fall on the next row? But it's super annoying if you recline because then the top of the barricade actually blocks the bottom part of the screen of the film. Maybe this isn't an issue in rows that are close to the screen, but for the back row, it was definitely an issue. The sound quality was good and overall, it was an A-OK theatre experience. Not my favorite, but certainly not the worst place I've been.

    Recliners and soooooo much space!!

So there was no hassle to go to the kiosk amongst other last minute patrons trying to figure out what they came to the movies to see ; very smooth transaction as we were able to scan our phone and get a print out of our tickets and head into the theater without any issues.

Notice in the pic how small the word "flavor" is. I went back to concession to ask about actual cheese and chili etc. Nothing. I asked what they put on the nachos then? They explained everything is packaged and they have no external condiments. They asked if I wanted to buy the nachos so I could put the cup of cheese on it. This is highway robbery and why people sneak food into theatres. Basically its a 7-11 with a big TV screen.

It is a huge venue, ample snacks area, kiosk ticket purchasing and roomy restrooms. There is online ticket purchasing and seat selection. One time though I misunderstood the seats I chose and embarrassingly thought someone was in my seats. Anyway, is the actual theatres that are epic. The seats almost fully recline, with an attached swivel table and cup holders. There is no one's head blocking the view in front of you. The screen is a good size to enjoy the film. I guess they have HD screenings I haven't checked out. If you are on a date you can move the arm rest to get cozy, or if the film is a giant yawn you can fall asleep and not bother anyone! One time I had to sit closer to the screen than I prefer, but even that seat was fine for enjoying the flick. If you still like going out to movies, taking a stroll after around the fountain or hitting up one of quite a few nearby eateries, you can make quite an event of it! Or you can just pig out on a large popcorn and enjoy the film before heading home. Some theatres can't complete with home viewing these days, so if you do venture out to the movies, make it worthwhile with this movie watching experience.

As always, I would purchase tickets via Cinemark's website which is quick and easy. With each check-in, you can use the QR code from email or via Cinemark's website. For some showings, they have point offers based on showtime dates, mostly during opening weekends. And for quite a few, they only allow 24 hours until the point deadline was over. Thanks to such, I was able to save enough points to get 6 months of Cinemark Movie Club membership for free. Definitely looking forward to more discounts for the new year. Again, 2025 in the books. From Nosferatu to Zootopia 2, I can say we enjoyed ourselves here. 2026 here we come :)

WHAT! I've been living here over 3 years and haven't reviewed this place yet?…read more To me, Naro Cinema is a little piece of home. I'm from Los Angeles where art house films can be seen at art house theaters or established theaters like AMC or Regal. Naro is THE place I can count on to play awards campaign films, but they'll also have an incredible showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show :) The staff is super friendly and you can tell they love to be there - they're my kind of people who love film. Ticket prices are cheap (I usually buy them online) and food prices are reasonable. I love coming here because theaters are dying and places like this need to continue living! You're asked for your ticket and even when mine was bought online (digital), they could look up the transaction that I bought online by just giving my name! They have home baked goods like brownies and baklava, wonder whose home they came from, no labels of ingredients or when they're good until! Neat part is that there is a balcony section. My first time here, had always wanted to go in the almost 7 years that I relocated to VA Beach from NoVA/DC area. Speaking of which the draw of this theatre is that they show independent films, love it! Wish they have more choices though, only two film showings per day. Am watching Black Bag today, should be a good spy thriller movie starring Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender.

Returned in 2026, and they do not have the reclining seats anymore, which was the main reason I chose this location. Other than that, it's mostly your typical movie house. Concessions are ridiculously overpriced, moviegoers are obnoxiously loud, and the trailers last forever. It took nearly half an hour for one film to start because of all the commercials advertising how great AMC is. It was very ironic as it didn't do them any favors in proving that claim. However, I have had a good time here. The lobby is big and they have a bar in case you want to drown your sorrows over having spent so much money and having to sit through a sucky film. They also have claw machines where you can get little toys if you pay for tokens. I took the gamble and won a rubber turtle with an affliction and a soccer ball on its shell. Maybe I just like hanging out in movie theaters, but I did enjoy my time here each visit. I'd go back if I was in the area or if I wanted to go a little way out from where I live if there's something playing at this one I want to see that badly. I like being able to put mustard on my popcorn. For anyone curious: the films I went here to see were, Jeepers Creepers 3 & EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert.
