This Regal at Independence Plaza has become a complete disappointment. From inattentive staff who seem uninterested in helping customers, to a filthy lobby that looks neglected, the entire experience feels chaotic and poorly managed. Basic concession products are often unavailable, which is unacceptable for a movie theater. Management has clearly gone downhill, and it shows in every part of the operation. What should be a place for entertainment feels disorganized and frustrating. I would not recommend this theater to anyone looking for a pleasant movie experience. Common sense your lobby should be smelling of popcorn almost near start times of films. Their popcorn taste like yesterdays batch. read more

There was a huge line and these two employees were just talking and laughing in the left corner. They were two young ladies, one with long straight black hair and the other with long curly hair. Another customer ahead of us even had to ask them if the cash register they were next to was open. That's unacceptable, what are they getting paid for? The other employees were doing their jobs fine and I assume are getting paid the same for doing more work than the other two girls. I enjoy coming to this theatre. Not too big. Not too small. The size works given the smaller audiences going to theatres these days. The costs are admittedly too high, but we know that. I mean, I paid around $50 for two matinee tickets and two drinks and a large tub of popcorn combo. Ridiculous but that's what it is, anywhere. But if you want to unplug, see a flock on a big screen, enjoy some popcorn and a drink with AC, then it's worth it. Make sure to get Regal card to get points for your visits. And Tuesday is their discounted day for movies and concession stand stuff. Location is fine. I did have some initial concerns but they were unfounded. Let's be clear, independence plaza is not Princeton market fair. If you get that, then it's all good. 5 stars based on more than one visit. Definitely a good place. read more

Please do not go here This theatre superficially justifies its price point (~$13-$14 for tickets, $9, $10, $11 for small/medium/large popcorn respectively) with fancy new reclining chairs and a variety of new concessionary options. While these new additions are convenient and welcomed, the theater has nevertheless neglected the one service it's meant to provide -- the actual movie viewing experience. I had gotten a ticket to view The Iron Claw, theater 11. For context, this is a slower, more dramatic movie with tense pauses and deliberate silences. Unfortunately, throughout the majority of the film, myself and the audience was forced to hear ALL SFX, and even loud muffled dialogue, from the action movie next door. The acoustic paneling of my theater, and I assume the theater next door, was borderline pathetic. A slight ripple in the wall texture, and very clearly ineffective. I cannot help but think it was a cheap duct-tape job by whoever threw this theater together behind a derelict stripmall in central NJ. I have literally never in my life been to a theater that cannot properly isolate sound and light in their rooms, until now. I have literally never written a review for a business in my life, until now. This ridiculous, sorry excuse for a theater actually brought me here to type all this out, so that I can spare someone, anyone, their $14+. And so I can one day see this establishment closed or burned down. In this day and age, where we can access so many movies so shortly after they're released in theaters, all in the comfort and frugality of our own homes -- I can confidently say this theater is not at all worth the money or effort to come out to, because you WILL NOT get what you pay for. We were in Philly area to visit family and decided to catch a movie when we were out here. The theater was pretty new over all. We came on a Saturday but it was not busy at all. We watched Aladdin. First I thought the theater was pretty small till I went in and realized the reason. All the seats are deluxe auto recliners. Very comfortable. We have been to Regals in other states but have never seen one with such comfortable seatings. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. Was coming back from Florida and decided to look for a place to watch the movie near Trenton Airport instead of near home in Jersey City and BAM. I'm a ****ing GENIUS. I come to this theater often and the last few visits have been rather disappointing. It's frustrating when the staff sells tickets leaving single spaces so that the only seats together are in the first 2 rows (I understand that some people book tickets online and that should be fixed on the app as well & I've already reviewed how the app needs improvements). There needs to be more workers in the concession area as I have waited excessively long to get snacks. I've even had to wait while I was the only one in line because there wasn't anyone to be found working. On the positive side I've found their seats recline the best out of the other Regals in the area & the theater is very clean! read more

We are regulars to this theatre with our kids bc we live close by, but lately have been dissatisfied.The personnel at the register seem to be confused at how to ring orders out which creates them all to rotate back & forth creating more confusion & wait time.We have the app that we have accumulated points to redeem, today trying to redeem some rewards & again the employee was unsure of how to do it. After 10 minutes she went to get the manager whos name is FAITH and she was not helpful and not pleasant at all! The policy now states that people under the age of 17 can not watch a movie without parental supervision. My daughter went to see minions with her friend for her 17th birthday but she did not have her ID and they did not let them in because her friend was 16. My son and I love this theater and we're so glad to live within walking distance! We've seen a few movies here since opening week, usually during non-peak hours. The theater is clean and comfortable, and the technical stuff -- visual and sound -- are definitely top notch, too. I have a couple of suggestions - first, as another Yelper mentioned, a business can't always control what their patrons do. But a few more garbage cans outside the establishment would probably help with the litter in the parking lot after a busy weekend. Related: this particular movie theater would be smart to employ a stern school marm of sorts to patrol the theaters to make sure there aren't any sneaks or chatterboxes, or, as we endured this weekend, children running and dancing in the aisles. In the interest of full disclosure, that happened during our viewing of Captain Underpants, which I watched with my 8-year-old son, so I know the target audience does not necessarily behave in a civilized manner, and that's ok. Kids are still learning. But, I don't think it was ok with everyone else in the theater, though, as these kids made a game of running up and down every row. EVERY ROW. And then they danced in front of the room, jumping up so they could see their hands and heads silhouetted against the screen. More disclosure: in fairness, the running/dancing took place during the credits, but we -- along with a couple of other customers, apparently -- love to sit through the credits, just to make sure we don't miss a thing. I watched another set of parents arguing with their child, who also wanted to run around after watching the other kids. I thought the kids were adorable, for what it's worth, but I would not allow my child to do that (and he didn't attempt it). Again, this was not some upscale, intellectual foreign film, but it also wasn't a private viewing. Less of a complaint, and more of a comical observation: we joined the rewards club when the theater opened, figuring it would save me some money. The prices are just as scandalous as other theaters, especially for the concession stand items, and really, there are no real bargains for loyalty card holders. I've dropped a bundle there, yet, I need to spend another grand before earning a free soda. Haha. The card is probably more of a big brother-esque marketing tool for the corporation, and I should probably just ditch it, since its value to me is almost non-existent. But dammit, I've worked hard for that free soda, and I'm not going to give up now! We're hoping this theater can keep up the overall good work. Very clean theatre . The only complaint I have is that children around 5-10 are in an adult movie. The kids were taking the entire time . I think I may have even heard a baby . As for the theatre . Today is opening day and although it's rainy out, today seems to be a perfect day for a movie. Tickets were $3 with proceeds benefiting local charities which made the movie sweeter. The movie theater is a complete renovation from the old theater. Clean, fast and friendly service. Leather reclining seats are awesome once you figure out where the buttons are located. Prices for concession food is somewhat high but probably average price as compared to other theaters. The only issue I found was having assigned seating. Assigned seats would work if I were to purchase tickets in advance ensuring that my seats were there. Other than that, this theater is a true gem! read more

To the defending the castle GM and her DM, Glad you got to lie about giving me re admit passes when you NEVER DID, and LABELED ME as a constant complianer, when in reality, YOU'RE THE CAUSE OF MY PROBLEMS!!! Defending the castle seems to be the only way you can handle your business, instead of listening and actually doing something to rectify the situation when kids are making noise in your theatre and jumping on each other's seats and taking selfie's of themselves, but unless I get out of my chair, ruin my movie experience and let you know what's going on, mind you, these kids might be carrying weapons and are hostile these days, so to rat them out, I take my life into the equation, and then decide to notify you after the movie, in hopes you'd actually listen and put yourself in my shoes, but NOOOOOOO, you can't do that and nickling and diming your regular customers who have been to your theatre over 50 times, is the only way to go. It's an upgrade from what was there before but after last night I won't be back. Something was clearing wrong with the movie. We saw Avengers in RPX and it looked like we were watching a bad stream of the movie. It was either out of focus or not the right resolution. Color was way off too. I complained and it seemed like this wasn't the first time. Nothing was ever resolved.. These issues never happen at the Hamilton 24 or the upgraded marketfair theatre. read more

Ok inalways go to the AMC market place in Princeton. The independence plaza always had a bad reputation. So I heard it was redone and tried it. The reclining seats are nice but don't have tbe flip up middle arm like AMC. But walking space was twice as much. So no putting up chair when someone walks by. Theatre was clean and staff was nice. I absolutely love this theater for a number of reasons. They have a great selection of movies, the seats are comfortable recliners that we can choose. The theater, restrooms and lobby are spotless. The employees are courteous and helpful. The prices are less expensive than AMC and you are getting much more for your money. Finally, the rewards actually add up to something whether it is snacks or movie tickets. I would not consider going anywhere else. read more

Considering this is a brand new theatre with everything being new. There's not really much negative to say about the theatre itself. Great reclining seats, surround sound is amazing, clean all around, and the staff that I've had interactions with have been nice and courteous. The good thing about the reclining seats is that even at the very front of the screen, you can .still see pretty well as long as you recline. They do have assigned seating which is great and bad depending because if a movie is really popular the odds of a good seat might be very slim like when Star Wars: Rogue One came out. The usual concessions prices as always are outrageous but they aren't any different at any other big chain theatre. Unfortunately the problem is the people that go to the theatre. I really wish the best of luck to this theatre because it's so close to home...but I see the same issues that ruined Destinta years ago potentially happening again. We went Saturday night to see Logan at 7pm and the 2 people sitting next to us were talking on the phone and texting the whole time. Who else besides the person they're with do they have to talk to? I'm pretty sure I saw 2 people try to theatre hop cuz they came in. Stood against the wall, watched the movie, looked for empty seats, watched a little more, and finally left. I know that you can't really control what people do when they come to the theatre but they need to have someone do a walk/rounds like I've seen at other theatre's. It might not do anything but it doesn't hurt to do it. I'm hoping that this sort of thing gets dealt with before what happened to Destinta and Destiny happens here. read more

This theater was great. I used to go there when it was still destinta theaters. The renovation made it look brand new. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and eager to work. I even heard one girl that was working the stand where they take the tickets say that she really wanted to clean, I have NEVER heard anyone say that before. It's nice to see that they're taking pride in this place. The seats were electric recliners which made them even more comfortable. The sound in there is incredible. I honestly have nothing bad to say about it. It's very safe too, there are 2 uniformed police officers inside with their car outside. The fact that it's literally right around the corner, clean and has friendly staff will keep me coming back for as long as they let me! Good job guys! read more

this place is a joke. do not let you're children come here to watch a movie because they will not be allowed in due to this new absurd policy. i dropped my children off, then received a call that they were not allowed to watch thor. although they were all 16, they needed a guardian, even though it was a pg13 movie. this is an outrage and i will never be going back to this place. i'm appalled. read more

The renovation is outstanding, the facility is clean, modernized, well laid out and comfortable. The expanded menu has hit food like burgers, chicken sandwiches, pizza, etc. the onion rings were crispy and golden. Prices as expected for chains but the food better than average. The recliners are very comfortable. We saw Wonder Woman on an opening Saturday afternoon, and the reserve seating was wide open just hours before the 6:15 showing as were later times. The other reserve seating theater AMC Market Fair, was mostly sold out 24 hrs ahead of the same show times. So if you're aced out of good seating at AMC, it's only 20 minutes from there to get to this Regal via I-295. read more

I go to this theater and wait 45 minutes for a movie I bought tickets for a month ago(avengers: endgame). Just for them to tell me that the projector is not working. That is not even what I am upset about I'm giving this theater a bad rating because instead of being accommodating they are giving people an attitude for asking the theater questions about what they're going to do for wasting our time, money, and gas! The Movie Theater was nice but my service there was awful...As soon as I walked into the theater it was bad vibes. I had an awful experience with their employee Julie. My friends and I were trying to watch IT one of my friends were not of the age to buy his own ticket so she said if we get a 21 year old to buy the ticket for us we could watch the movie ... we find a person to do so for us but she told him that because we were harassing him to buy the tickets she couldn't allow him to do that. He disagreed with that statement saying that in no way were we harassing him she then said well since he was not our parent or guardian he couldn't buy the ticket. we then assured her in a respectful manner that she did not previously state that... she then had us removed from regal by Hamilton police. read more

Regal Cinema is Ok so Far. But I've had the worst Experience. DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT! Let the staff worker by the name "julie" assist you. She was very rude to me and four other individuals. She stated "i can tell by your ethnicity that your siblings" to me that was very racist because she classified us by color. the officers there were very cooperative. Great movie theater with great prices. They offer student discounts too! They only have 12 theaters so they only show recent movies but the theaters are very clean and all have recliners. The only problem is that they have assigned seating for every movie and there have been issues with that every single time I've gone there - it seems like they assign the same seat to two people. read more

The renovation of this theater has blown me away. It had some failing management a few times in a row, so I was excited to hear that a big chain actually invested in it. Very clean, amazing seats/sounds/visuals, and the staff has always been extremely pleasant to me even when it is as busy as can be on a Saturday night. One of the times my husband and I went there, it was so busy that they didn't even have pretzels and cheese ready. But the young lady took my husband's seat, and brought it out to us before the movie started instead of having us stand there and wait the whole 10 mins. That was a very nice touch! We have been here about 6 times since it reopened and it is our go-to theater now. read more
